Trust is a luxury. Love is a risk. Survival is everything…
Alexandra Prescott was never meant to last at Altair University. But despite the relentless cruelty of the Legacy families and the looming shadow of her father’s disgrace, she remains—and now, the game has changed.
Her enemies are watching, waiting for her to falter. The Altair Games draw closer, a brutal tradition drenched in blood and legacy, but Alex refuses to play by their rules. Whispers echo through the gothic halls, and truths long buried begin to stir—unsettling, incomplete, and dangerous in the wrong hands.
And then there’s Bishop Ashbourne. Still dangerous. Still maddening. Still the boy who tried to break her—now the one standing too close, burning too bright. Their bond deepens even as the walls between them begin to crumble, and what started as a war is starting to feel like something else entirely.
But trust is a weapon at Altair.
And loving someone here? That might be the most dangerous move of all.
This series continues to confuse me. There’s enough of an interesting plot to keep me reading, but teasing glimpses of a potential magical, and potential WC/RH, subplot, remain just that: underdeveloped hints. I’d expected more to be revealed in this second book in the series. There was a little spice, and a bit of revenge. But not much actually happened. Oh and grammatical errors abounded, just as in book one. I will read book three when released as I’m intrigued as to what on earth will be the resolution… but I’m really hoping it’s better (and thoroughly edited and proofread!).
This book is even better than the first!!! I am so d*mn invested!!!
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ 😍😍😍😍😍 🌶️🌶️ not very spicy but it's heating up)
Alex now knows that the Legacies will stick together and she can't trust them.
While Alex feels a pull to Bishop she knows what he is truly like and doesn't want to give in to the attraction. Is she strong enough to keep him out though.
Bishop doesn't know why but Alex's stubbornness is drawing him in instead of making him more angry. She gets away with more with him than anyone else. He thinks he has her under his thumb even with her fierce side always challenging him, but does he?
After a fire breaks out and Alex learns of more betrayal she decides she is done being played with. She decides to make them her playthings for once.
Game on Legacies! You wanted to play in the games and you just got played before they even begin!!!
Question is can Alex learn all the secrets before it's too late?
When I tell you Amber Vant is the Queen at bully romance, you better believe it. The way she has you cheering on their reasonings, their behavior, and event their possessiveness! I’ve been counting down the days until book two came out because with that cliffhanger from book one, I needed answers. In book two we get to see a softer, more vulnerable, of The Legacies. Alex finds herself, her voice, and her meaning in life. I can’t wait until book three is in my hands!!
Just like in the first book, the story still feels childish to me, and the characters’ behavior is both illogical and immature for grown adults. I still can’t understand how Alex can be with Bishop when there’s absolutely no connection built between them. The MMC is unlikable, adds nothing to the plot, and is simply there looking angry. And Alex is not that great either. This doesn't seem like a romance to me and the plot is very ordinary. Bully romance? Where?
****Spoilers**** The spice isn’t great either — yes, they had sex, but Bishop refused to give her an orgasm and then left. And this is the guy we are supposed to be rooting for? Nope, thanks. For some reason, I still managed to finish it, and it ends with a cliffhanger. If the next book were already out, I might buy it just out of curiosity, but I think after few weeks I will forget I read this series. Cliffhanger is good, it makes me curious but since I don’t like anyone except Sylvester, I’m not sure it’s even worth it to continue.
I’ve been eagerly waiting for the second book in the Altair universe, and wow—it did not disappoint! This installment follows Alex and the Legacies as they make their way to the Altair Games, all while plotting against each other. I loved seeing Alex get her revenge through subtle pranks that chipped away at the Legacies’ untouchable power—it was so satisfying watching them finally get knocked down a peg. Bishop is still as brooding and magnetic as ever, and I adore how Alex continues to unravel his control. That bathroom scene? Absolutely raw—hands down my favorite—even if Bishop left Alex frustrated and wanting more 😩. The push and pull between them is addictive, and I can’t wait to see Alex finally take full control. And in true Amber fashion, the ending left me completely grasping for the next book!
ALEX COMING IN AND CAUSING A RUCKUSSS WHAAAT WAS THAT ENDING. need the next book now. GAH BISHOPPP why do you drive us crazy and love you all at the same time. I loved the spice we finally got between them.
