Secret is a short read featuring two short stories based on a similar prompt. The first of these short stories, The Secret, is about Jill, a teenage girl who spends a lot of money to purchase a golden egg from an obscure shop. The egg is only known as 'the secret'. Shortly after purchasing it, she finds out why when it reveals to her some dirty secrets her friends and boyfriend are hiding from her. In the end, Jill makes her friends and boyfriend pay for their wrongdoings in a way that is morbidly appealing.

The second and last short story, The Love Potion, is about another teenage girl named Shana that spends a small fortune on a love potion to expose the true feelings of her friend Tom. Unfortunately, Tom is already involved with Jennifer, the childhood friend of his and Shana's. In the end, the secret behind his union with Jennifer is revealed and an incredible plot twist unfolds that is surely to make readers think.

There were some slight spelling errors, but nothing major and nothing that hinders the story in any way.

I would recommend this short read to fans of the horror and paranormal genres. It is intended only for adults as the subject matter hints at and rather openly describes sexual acts.

Overall, I'm floored. I loved this read and found that The Love Potion was my favorite. While I had a lot of trouble caring about the characters in The Secret, I had no trouble at all feeling grief and loss for the characters in The Love Potion. It doesn't seem possible to feel at all for characters given the lengths of these two stories, but the authors are just so talented that it happens before you even register the plot twist. This author duo has long been one of my favorites and this short collection is another example of why I love their work. The quality they deliver with their work is uniform across each story they write and the talent they possess is endless. I can't wait for their next release.

Short breakdown of my rating: 4 stars - I absolutely loved this read but I had a very hard time relating to the characters in The Secret.
