This Fourth of July, sparks will fly when three unsuspecting acts of true kindness will ignite an inferno of love so hot, the fireworks pale.
In their intertwining stories, Banks, Grace, Seth, Kitty, Matt and Danielle come into each other’s lives expecting nothing and yet find everything they've ever wanted.
It only takes a spark of kindness to set true love ablaze. Summer just got a little hotter.
Kris Calvert is a former copywriter and PR mercenary who after some coaxing, began writing novels. She loves alliteration, pearls and post-it notes. She’s married to the man of her dreams and lives in Lexington, Kentucky. She’s Momma to two grown kids, and is also responsible for one very needy rescue pup. When she’s not writing, she’s baking GF cupcakes.
2 stars. I picked up this novella because someone said it was a quick, cute read for the 4th of July. Although it had potential, it was just so rushed and it took these 3 couples approximately 3 days to fall madly in love.
I also really hated that the book has mistakes in it. At least 3 times that I can remember, the wrong character name was used. Very bizarre. Plus, I found a couple typos. It just makes it harder to read.
Started this one because I was wanting a quick, cute novella. I GUESS this fit that description but I just don’t think a novella is enough space to fit three separate love stories. They all felt rushed and had “instalove”, which I despise lol. Also, there were quite a few instances where the characters names got mixed up? It was too many characters that even the author couldn’t keep track lol
This was a short and sweet palate cleanser for me. It was a super easy read but it definitely was rushed in the end. All in all though, the story line was decent and this book served the purpose that I had hoped it would (really needed a light read to break things up).
Though it was generally enjoyable - There were definitely blatant mistakes in the writing itself, most notably the author used the incorrect character names from time to time. This added to the sensation that the book was rushed.
A little spice. Falling in love FAST. A short story of hope that follows Banks, Kitty, Grace, Matt, Seth, and Danielle. A small town on the anniversary of a devastating tornado that tore Banks’ and Grace’s lives apart, but also brought to town their destinies 💫
Overall, I enjoyed the story.
There were a few mix ups with names while the author was writing, and I noticed a couple grammatical errors. The falling in love of each couple was VERY fast. Nonetheless, I enjoyed the quick, sweet read.
Was just looking for a fun and festive light read for the holiday. However I did not read the full description, and thus did not go into this knowing that it is about people moving forward after a catastrophic tornado decimated their town and killed a bunch of people on the 4th of July. Um. That plot plus the worst trope of all time: insta-love? Brutal.
There were too many couples, falling in love too fast, in this very short little book. There were also a couple of typos, and mixed up names, and that kind of thing just really bothers me. Makes me wanna offer to proofread for the author!
Could have been made longer with more details to the story and not cut into a short book otherwise great story but there was alot of relationships going on all at once and it was an abrupt ending. I enjoy the art aspect and work lifestyles too it.
Very cute and romantic. I was waiting for some kind of twist or surprise though and that never happened. Very straightforward romance with intersecting characters and love stories.
I had high hopes and unfortunately was not very impressed. That being said, this is the first book I’ve read by this author, but I will consider reading another one to give a second chance
A pretty typical cute, sweet, and quick story of how three couples come together after a tragedy hit their small town three years earlier. While this is in the Magnolias and Moonlight series, I don't really see the connection to the previous books. So, if you're looking for something quick to hold you over until you figure out the next book you're going to tackle, this may be for you. It's easily read in a few hours.
A sweet novella! Intertwining stories and characters help to create this wonderful novella. You have sommelier, nurse, doctor, sculptor, masseuse, PR person coming together. Unforeseen circumstances lead them to a small town. Collectively they form a strong family. A story of destiny, hope, believing, and coming together.
I'm so in love with book! It's been a little while since a book gave me a warm fuzzy feeling all over inside and this one did. I loved that there were struggles to get to the happy endings too.
If you are looking for a short, sweet, romantic, but realistic book this is one you should check out!
