One star? You might think this novel is hopeless and not worth reading, and in some ways that's true, but actually the plot is very sound and I'm kinda looking forward to the follow up. However, this novel has been published before it's ready, and that's why it gets a crappy rating.

I don't know for certain, but it seems that this novel is an unedited first draft rather than a finished product. There are numerous language and grammar errors and the language is frequently overly simple or inappropriately colloquial. As a result, the characters and character development suffer. The plot in the earliest part of the novel is a little pedestrian, but this does improve quickly as the author hits his stride.

All considered, the novel has the potential to be quite a good read, but desperately needs revision under the watch of a good editor or proof reader. Such a shame.

If I'm giving this 1 star I feel like I should say why.

I just could not get past the way this is written. Many extremely short sentences, grammar/spelling errors all made this unreadable for me. I'm usually pretty tolerant of such things if they do not take away much from the story but this one I had to give up on and move on to something else.

I see many people loved the plot and perhaps at some point I will give it another shot, I can only hope the author tries to improve the book at some point in the future.

Recommend to anyone who loves dragons.
Good story! However so many misspelled words and horrible grammar.
Didn't any one proofread before publishing?

Too slow and poorly written

Poorly written. Author needs to make sure he reads what he has written for grammatical and spelling errors. There were a lot of them.

Everything a book should be!

A worthy hero with worthy friends. Terrible murderous villains who are powerful and able to lead the general public as well as the dragon riders into attacking the dwarves and their dragons and forcing a war.

Mr. Clausen, please contact me. I'm volunteering to be your final proofreader. Your book is brilliant! The proofreading is deplorable. This story needs to be continued and your first book needs to be re-released after being edited. I hope to see your next book soon. I'm anxious to see what happens next!

Great storyline

I thought this book was quite good. The storyline was new and interesting. The characters were well developed although they were slightly inconsistent. The most annoying thing however was the mistakes in the writing. It need to be proofread a few times at least. Other than that an excellent read.

To my opinion it's a very entertaining book, I think of it as a mix between eragon and Harry Potter, the writer is in desperate need of an editor, there are so many errors in the writing, but it is has really good plot and hopefully the second book won't be a first draft

Great read.

This book is amazing well written. There are some editing issues that could have been done better, but the characters are well developed and the story isn't all over the place.

Editing problems

The only reason that this book gets 4 stars is the problem with the editing. Please don't let it distract you from poo m the book. It is an excellent story and I can not wait till the second.
