“5 Little Monkeys Jumpin’ on the Bed,” the classic children’s story and song features Oboe the monkey and DJ the dinosaur. Oboe’s mama discovers that Oboe and his brothers and sisters are jumpin’ on their bed. One-by-one they each fall off and bump their head. When Mama calls the Doctor (Dr. DJ), the doctor says, “No more monkeys jumpin’ on the bed.” But when Dr. DJ gets home to his own family, guess what his children are doing? This classic children’s song/story will bring joy, laughter, and smiles to tots and parents alike. Children will learn how to count the monkeys on their fingers and gain an entertaining introduction to subtraction – every time a monkey falls off the bed.
his song is possibly the all time favorite of daycare and nursery school children here in the US. The repetition is simple; children love using their fingers to count and sing along. It also introduces the concept of subtraction.Children will enjoy watching the monkeys' antics in the illustrations. While no audio is provided in this book, readers are given a link to follow to hear a audio rendition of the music. Be forewarned that once your child learns this song, you probably will not be able to get her to stop singing it! Comment Comment | Permalink
remember when you were little. this will bring back memories. so remember not to jump on the bed. like when you start to read it 5 little monkeys jumping on the bed one fell off and bumped its head. I give it a 5 star rating cause it's a good book to read to kids
This is one of favorite story time books that I enjoyed as a child. The monkeys are bright and colorful and you can easily begin to sing along as you read this aloud to your kids. I was excited when I saw this a freebie and quickly snatched it up. If you have a younger child this is a great book to help introduce counting and subtracting.
Great retelling of a classic. My 6 & 3 year old grandsons love this book. I cannot even begin to tell how many times we have read it, but doing the doctor's voice is their favorite part.
This little children's ditty has been around for years, but it's still catchy, and this version utilizes two senses-sight as well as hearing. Enjoy sharing with your kids and grandchildren!
