The Words I Didn't Say

Rate this book
Janet had been there and done that when it came to love. After a broken heart love was no longer an option for her. No strings, meaningless sex, and random dates were now her top choices. Besides keeping men at a distance and away from her heart was safe right? You can t get hurt if you don't let anybody in.

But what happens when you suddenly meet someone who just gets you? The moment she met Denim she knew it was something different, something she couldn't control. And from day one she fought that four letter word, love.

Denim had loved and lost and vowed to never feel for anyone ever again and that had worked for years. A successful music producer but a womanizer by nature the day he met Janet his quest to be unattached was challenged. Janet and Denim both fight what was evident, that they both wanted and needed each other.

Vowing to just be in the moment and not commit to one another tension grows as their emotions can t be controlled. Random sex want do, the endless dates with unfamiliar faces is getting old, and everyone is compared to the one that matters, each other.

But when Janet fears confessing her deep feelings for Denim will push him away; things change. Denim although loves Janet is unwilling to commit and it is his the lack of effort to change on his end that ultimately changes them.

Words go unspoken as this romantic, sexy, dramatic novel unfolds leaving two souls lost within each other. And when a broken heart can't be mended it seems that their love will be lost forever without a real chance at happiness.

A love story not based on a fairy tale but solely on the fact that sometimes we run from the very thing that will make us happy.

Emotional

The Words I Didn't Say by Tamika Newhouse. I love the concept and vibe. Tamika did a good job. It's a page turner and it's a five stars. It's dealing with a lot of drama. I could related to Janet. I understand that love is hard and painful for her. She's been through in her past relationship with Desmond and Denim. Denim and Janet are giving my nerves. I'm not a emotional person but end of book almost made me cry because what's happened to Janet and Claire.

I'm looking forward to read another book from this author.

Got as a ARC for a honest review.

As I sit here tears are rolling down my cheeks in a steady stream. The book hit home on some spots. The emotional roller coaster love has on us can leave us so empty. So we build walls. But walls get knocked down. We try again and things can either go good or bad. Its hard on a person soul at times. For Janet I connected with her and felt like I lost my best friend. The author held my hand as they walked me through each scene of their book. I just want to say I was so pulled into the story and felt like I was there. The characters you built and how the story played out was so well done. The book had everything from quirky saying to laughter and a yes tons of tears.

I loved the book.
Thank you for letting read such a well written story.

Heartbreaking

This book brought out so many emotions that it has taken me a few days to write a review. This book is about the many things women face in relationships. I've faced a few of them, and it was hard to read them from another woman's perspective. The ending was unexpected, but how much hear break can a person take before it kills them. People, men and women, don't understand the affects of their actions on another person until it is too late. Denim thought he was doing something by being honest with Janet about his actions, but he was slowly killing her. He didn't realize until it was too late and she was already gone. 5 star read, but very emotional.

The Words I Didn't Say was not your typical love story by the least bit…. Janet and Denim story was full of twisted and turns, and it was an emotional roller coaster that keep me on the edge of my seat as I turn the pages… Who knew that loving and being in love could be so hard for two people… Janet was definitely was a woman that had been hurt one to many times, and just couldn't let any one in as much as she wanted to. Denim was in the same place he wanted to love Janet but he was not ready or willing to love her fully and leave all the her women in his life alone…

The storyline was so captivating and well written… I was so drawn in from the beginning to end the pain that the characters was going thru I felt my heart was breaking when Janet was going thru things in the book, My temper would rise with Denim like he was man and he was being dirty to me not Janet…. The supporting characters were great in this book as well. My heart definitely went out to Clarie as well in this story because to lose two important people in your life on the same day has to be the worst, and make you feel the ultimate low.

In conclusion, this was overall a great story that I would recommend any reader that likes a great love story… The only thing that kinda bother me but it was not enough to take away from the story is that there were some editing issues that should have been corrected but again great story and a must read……...

"Love makes your soul cry from its hiding place..."

This was the first full novel I've read by Tameka Newhouse and I must say this book was enlightening, funny, heartfelt, and brave!

Enlightening because the display of friendship between Janet, Claire, Diamond and Nicole was a sisterhood that I wish more Authors displayed within their work. It felt good to read about positive women doing phenomenal things and also being supportive of one another. Not only for the women, but also the friendship between Denim and Dalvin was great! We should all have friendships such as theirs.

Funny because Janet's sarcasm, we all wished we were bold enough to say. Not to mention Diamond and Nicole ready to give it you if you hurt their friend! The lunches and discussions between them were on point!

Heartfelt.... Janet and Denim unspoken words to each other were bold. Sexy. Yet complicated. What relationship isn't this way. I loved their not in love but in love relationship. I felt real emotions with Janet and Denim.

Tameka Newhouse penned a brave book. A book that will tug at your heart and soul. She touches upon real issues that plague us today and strength and courage could win. She shows you how love and friendship can be fun, yet scary at times. I loved it and she definitely makes you think about The Words You Didn't Say...

3.5 Stars--This was my first book by Tamika Newhouse. I enjoyed the book, great storyline. I loved Janet. The only issues I had were the spelling and grammatical errors. The quotes and song lyrics inserted into the book were an awesome touch. The story of the love between the main characters Denim and Janet was like none I'd read before, so kudos for originality. The frankness between the two was both good and bad. The ending caught me off guard. My book club discussed the book with Tamika and the discussion was awesome. Good book.

never be afraid to tell someone how you feel

Wow this book was so well written and the author delivered a message loud and clear .. The title matches the story to the tee .. Never be afraid to tell someone how you feel because you never know what could happen . Never be afraid to let go and let love take over .. The ending tugged at my emotions .

Wow

I can't believe she died like that?? But it was a great book. I actually cried at the end of the book. I somewhat blamed Denim for her death. I felt like if he wasn't sleeping with her friend she would of been alive

Not What I Expected

I hate predictable plots so although this story was unexpected, I kinda wished the author gave a happy ending or love conquers all future. That was not the case.
