She spends an inordinate amount of time reading about how the brain works, listening to music and trying not to kill the basil.
Jo's husband died of cancer on 13 June 2008, three years after they married, and whose medical bills are astronomical. Authors, editors, and bloggers have all donated a mess of items, from books to critiques to mentoring sessions to offer an item for the auction to benefit author Jo Leigh.
I enjoyed Hotshot. Sara and Luke were together for five years and Sara thought they were in love but the day they graduated from the Air Force academy he ended it with her and walked away, Sara was devastated at his cruelty.
Seven years later, Sara is organzing recruitment drives and is a short of a fighter-pilot when in walks Luke, and she isn't happy to see him. She tells him he can stay but not for long, till she finds a replacement. The thing is I didn't like Luke but you have to give him points for persistence, he was cocky and egoistic and wrong and one bad experience in war zone made him see that and how he hurt Sara. He wanted all the glory and women that came with it so he ended it with Sara.
Even though Sara doesn't give him the time of the day, he knows he owes her and he is paying her back and he also knows that he has to apologize. What I liked was Luke realized first that Sara was the one for him and that he may never get a shot with her again especially when he tells her what was going on in his mind when he ended things with her. He was a jerk and for a long time Sara doesn't see the change in him, his new found humility in life, his remorse and regard for people other than him.
I liked Sara, how she had been hurt and thought about herself and not giving Luke an easy time of it. She was professional and walked away from him even when she got the chemistry signals from him. I like the hero being in a un-certain place and this book had that.
The first story in this book about Captain Luke was a fun read. Loved the struggle of the characters to accept their love for each other. But it was the second story in this book that I really enjoyed between Chase and Dr. Jamie. It was sweet and passionate and I loved how bit all came together.
