I'm Kyle West, author of the Wasteland Chronicles, Xenoworld Saga, Starsea Cycle, and more. I try to write books with lots of action and crazy twists to keep you turning the pages. Every book of mine can be categorized as "science fantasy," blending elements from both genres.
The seventh and final book of the series was a wild and fun ride. Where the previous book seemed to drag, this installment picked up the ball and ran with it. There were very few punches that were pulled here, the end result was something that will stick with me for a long time. I definitely don't have any regrets in regards to reading this series.
The final battle was what really won me over in the end. It was original enough for me to forget the minor nit picks that I was annoyed about before. The conclusion really took all of my preconceived notions I had and chucked them out the window. I'm sure everyone won't feel the same way, but I feel like the endgame was a original one. Plus I liked how the author had the guts to take some main characters off the playing field in this last volume.
As a series, I happily give these seven books as a whole a five out of five stars. Sure it had it's faults and inconsistencies. But it was a fun read and I don't regret the time I spent in this world. When the curtains came down for the finale, I found myself realizing that I would miss some of these characters. I know I critiqued this book's presentation before, but somehow I have become attached to the story that these heroes lived in. That is how I knew my time spent here was a good one.
As I said before this book was recommended to me by my good friend Lisa. I would like to thank her for taking the time to not only suggesting these seven books to me, but for also reading this series alongside me. Any normal friend can mention a good book, but a really good friend will read that book with you. I appreciate Lisa for doing both with me.
So I've finally reached the end of the Wasteland saga... Xenofall was a story about the final battle to save the Wasteland and all of humanity from the Radaskim. I really can't go into any more detail then that without giving away how it ended but I will say the whole series was really good. I thought it wrapped up nicely. If you enjoy sci-fi, dystopia, a little horror & a lot of action, then this a great series to try. I think Kyle West is one of those underrated authors who deserves a lot more recognition then he gets. He really has a nice writing style. I'm glad I came across him on Kobo or I wouldn't have even known he existed. There is a follow up series to The Wasteland Chronicles that I definitely plan to read & I'll be keeping my eye out for anything else he comes out with.
Really enjoyed this series. I’m not sure if this is because I was reading it on my kindle but I noticed some grammatical issues that were kind of confusing. This series is such an easy read though and I thoroughly enjoyed getting to know the characters and the adventure they went on. When I first started reading this series I had NO IDEA it was going to take the turn that it took and I loved that I had a hard time guessing what would happen next. I’ll definitely be checking out the next xenoverse series. Side note I’ve still been questioning how toothpaste is made in space so thank you Anna.
I really enjoyed this series. I liked the narrator of the audiobook and bonded with the characters. Unfortunately, I feel like the author "jumped the shark" in the last hour with the introduction of a strange new environment that was hard to visualize in the way it was presented. It's like there was so much time and energy put into getting to the climax point that once everyone was there West didn't know how to wrap things up. The result was confusing, rushed and disappointing.
I just finished all 7 of the first books. These were all good building on each other. You knew the final outcome but not the adventure of getting there. Masterfully done. Great read. Big D
At first the story started very slowly in book but as you continue to listen to each book you are drawn in and you become one with the story. You feel the lost the main characters and the other characters in the story go thru death, betrayal, sacrifice and love but in the end all they went thru saves the world and give the US a second chance to start again from a destroyed earth to something hopefully even better. From the beginning you follow Alex from the bunker 108 and the death of friends and family when it fell and watch as he grows into the man he becomes and you watch as he learns he is the chosen one who must fight the finally battle and he losses the earth is gone but the will the loves of his friends and their sacrifice to make sure he was safe and learned who he is and as the chosen one he must win and he does in the end but now he becomes part of universe of many minds and he looks out for the people on the earth specially his wife, and son he never met and the many dragons who stood by him and survived. The ending is very sad but it is woven with hope, lost and at the same time looking forward to one day joining Alex again and the earth start to heal itself
I read all seven books in a row. Couldn't wait to read each installment. This story will stay with me for some time. The storyline and the characters were unbelievably real in my mind and makes you root for humanity! I can't say much without ruining this series for someone who hasn't read it, but I loved it and can't wait to read more from this author.
The whole series should be combined into one book. Each book doesn't have a stopping place. It just goes right into the next. I feel it should have ended sooner, it kind of goes on and on by the last 2 books. Otherwise I enjoyed the story, but I would not have purchased it if I known it took God's name in vain.
Very enjoyable adventure - stared with the first 3 books free then purchased all the following books. It was so easy to lose yourself in the story, you forget you are even reading. That is the highest complement you can offer a writer! Thank you for the escape from reality!
After finishing The Starsea Cycle, I started with The Wasteland Chronicles. It's been a hell of a journey from the prequel all the way to Xenofall. I'll admit, tears welled up in my eyes at the Epilogue. Well done, now let's see where this journey takes us in The Xenoworld Saga.
7 books in 14 days. Once I started I never wanted to stop. An epic journey in small span of 3 months in the book. Love the world building and character development, with each new discovery led to the different ways I thought it would impact the ending. Ending was a little different than what I predicted, however it was wholesome and sad. Loved the series and can’t wait to see what the Xenoworld saga brings
I feel like it should be a review of the entire series but then it should be on book #1... Xenofall was a satisfying end to the series. I really enjoyed the author's follow through on the premise of the series. There were no sudden departures that showed a lack of faith in the original intent. I will read more books by the author.
Thank you for a incredible escape from everyday. I would recommend this as more a fantasy epic than a apocalypse dystopian world is ending book. I found the style much more in line with a fantasy epic tale than a gritty tale of a modern world ending.
I finished the series in a little under 1 month. A very enjoyable read.
Terrible ending. My adoration of the series in shambles. As expected from the end of Extinction, from the first page to the last, the book was depressing, gruesome, and without a happy end. Throughout the entire series what kept me going was hope for a brighter future of humanity and desire of happiness for everyone still alive. My prize was a suicidal Anna, at the end of her wits, convincing herself that life is not THAT bad, like, there is SO MUCH to be thankful for and, the future is bright, you know, kind of! Oh, and a promise of more fights with the Radaskim? Thanks, Kyle. I'll pass.

Its a very good book, there is humor, and very sad deaths. but it is the best book I have ever read, I just love how he describes the aliens. What color they are, how big they are, and how deadly they are. Im excited and also kind of sad to keep reading on the the Xenoworld Saga books. :)
This is the best book I have ever read, I love Apocalypse alien books. And romance, it just makes me all bubbly inside when Akal says something embarrassing to Alex.
I truly loved this series. I became attached to all the characters and really hated seeing any of them die. Sad sad. :(
I think this was probably the best book of the series. A very good ending.
Kyle West did a great job with this series. I could really see the improvement in his writing as the series progressed. I will be reading more from this author.
The rest of the series I would give a Five star. This book only a three star as it had no suspense. You already knew the outcome going in. It was also a harder read, did not flow as well. The other thing is the books should have been condensed into three or four books. I don't usually buy books with this many in a series.
The story was great with a satisfying ending. There were several editing errors especially concerning which ship Alex and Anna were on. It seemed change every other paragraph for a while. Look forward to the next set of the Xeno series.
I read the whole series. I couldn't put them down. book seven was the bomb. everything tied together and the ending was great. the whole way through this bok you are on the journey with them.
Awesome series by kyle west! The first of many of his series that I hope to read. Had issues putting it down as I am writing this review at 3:09am but look forward to reading the first book of zenoworld saga that I have already downloaded.
This series has actually finished very strong. I was worried it would start to get either real hokie or rushed, but it did not. I havebeen impressed with the entire series. Well done!
Fantastic series and one of my new favorites. I loved a majority of the characters and the plot. I hated the ending, but I knew it was going to happen, just didn't want it to. And Anna is kick ass'
