Most of my stories are set in small villages filled with quirky characters. These are partly inspired by the places I’ve lived in over the years, although the characters are straight out of my imagination! I currently live in Wales, close to a famous library and two ruined castles. My husband thinks we moved here by accident.

My first published novel was Smoke Gets in Your Eyes, which was a finalist in Poolbeg’s Write a Bestseller competition. As well as nine novels, I’ve written short stories for women’s magazines such as Take a Break and My Weekly. Before becoming a full-time writer, I worked as an administrative officer for the police.

When I’m not writing, I enjoy visiting big old houses, which I use as inspiration for the houses in my novels, and reading other people’s books when I ought to be writing my own…

This is a great short story with romance, heart break and a reminder to not always believe what you read, or make assumptions. I really enjoyed this short story. It follows Megan who has broken up with her boyfriend Ryan after being humiliated when he cheated on her. She escapes with her friend to Sorrento to get away from it all and get herself together again. What she didn't expect was for Ryan to also be there.

There is a cat and mouse chase as she avoids him, but eventually they catch up and all may not be as it seems......

I really enjoyed reading this short story. At just over 40 pages it didn't take long, but it was long enough to understand what had happened. I would actually like to have seen this as a longer novella as it could have been developed more and would have had me riveted. I liked the message of not jumping to conclusions and making assumptions without knowing the whole story.....quite timely for me right now!

This is a good story for a short commute, or just some time out to escape the real world.

I loved The Indecent Proposal by Louise Marley. Megan and Ryan are both funny, heart-warming and down to earth and thanks to the author’s skill, each of the supporting characters shine through too. It’s a humorous read with just the right amount of romance. Perfect escapism during a lunch or coffee break.

Three chapters in, more than a third of the way into this short story, I abandoned it. By that point, the characters were so superficial in both development and personal character, that I couldn't care in the slightest if the main character's love life worked out as she wished, but refused to communicate about. I cannot fathom a man's liking this.

Cute, but there was so much here that could have been developed further. This would make a good novel if expanded upon. As a short story, it leaves me wanting more.

What a cute little love story. You know - boy meets girl - they fall in love - girl overreacts - boy and girl meet again - proposal - the end.

Awww...what a short sweet story. My only complaint is I wish it was longer or at least tell us a little bit more about what happens to Megan and Ryan.

Megan is writer, she just so happens to stumble on one picture of Ryan with a girl and then turns in to a frenzy, she believes every gossip site and news instead of talking to Ryan (thinking that he had cheated on her). Ryan I was surprised to find out is actually very sweet, he loves Megan with all his heart and tries to win her back.

Unknown to both of them, Gina sets them both up in her hometown in Sorrento, obviously Megan has no idea of this. I really loved Gina and Luca, they were both level headed, strong and how good friends supposed to be. Luca oozes with hotness and Gina oozes with beauty and confidence.

Although I was pleased with the ending, I would have liked a bit more twists and turns to have happened. I felt like this was a bit too easy for them just to end up together engaged, I did feel sorry for Ryan when Megan would just ignore him but I also felt the need that he needed to do more.

When I read the blurb on the back of the book I was unsure about what was indecent about the proposal however as I got into the actual story I found that it was the misunderstanding that occurred between them that led to the proposal. However I am really glad that they made it up in the end. I would recommend this book to anyone who wanted to read a short story about romance and was also looking for something a bit humorous.

Having read Nemesis by Louise Marley I was eager to read this offering. It’s fun, entertaining, and thoroughly enjoyable. I really liked it. Being a short story it was the perfect length for a reading fix, the characters are like-able (hey, there’s one called Gina!), and the plot interesting. Thanks once again, Louise, for a great read!

Gave this a generous 3 stars. It's a harmless 30 min read about a love misunderstanding. Not mind blowing but that's just my opinion.

A fun short story about a normal girl and her recently-ex boyfriend who are thrown together again (accidentally on purpose) during a holiday in Sorrento.
