All I have to say is that this was a wonderful trilogy & yet again I praise the mad skills Charles has to weave a story together. It is fascinating how you are handed pieces of the puzzle & when everything comes together it is truly brilliant. I am so glad Richard finally got his. He was one awful, cold wretched man & he deserved no less. I was glad we got to see all the girls & how they are doing. I'm so glad Carrie is finally healing...even though I still tear up thinking about Ray. Dylan bless his soul is such a wonderful character, he grows more & more through the series. And thank goodness Julia & Crank got some well deserved happy news. This was a great ending & I really enjoyed learning about their mother & her heartbreaking story, so glad she can have some peace & happiness now.

This book can't come quick enough!!!! Just finished Girl of Rage...maybe I'll be pleasantly surprised with a July release???

Just completed this book...O.M.G!!! Let's just say nothing was what it seemed. As in all of my favorite series, the characters were extremely well developed, a difficult feat in this instance as there are so many...but holy wow...it was done brilliantly, to the point everything felt so real. Such an excellent read...well done!!

This series has been fabulous since I read the first book about The Thompson Girls. Alexandra and Dylan in Remember to Breathe, closely followed by Julia and Crank in A Song for Julia then the most heart wrenching of stories I have read... The Last Hour featuring Carrie and Ray.

We then move on 9 months into Rachel's Peril series. Where its been a drama filled story including the while Thompson family, with the side story about the fathers demise. He always came over as a very cold, hard, bad tempered nasty piece of work.

So... we start this installment still in the throws of the aftermath of Andrea's kidnapping. We learn that all the adults connected to Andrea's parents have all intercepted in the girls lives at one time or another. A web of intrigue.

The way Andrea's father had treated her all her life was abysmal. Which we discover more and more about how he, without remorse had treated all of the girls.

I am glad that the girls really did stick together, they were there for each other when it counted.

Dylan was the epitome of a family protector, ready to step up at each level, getting Andrea away, keeping her safe and when the rest of the family were all together he stepped up over and over again.

I admired Julia she stood up for what she believed in, did the right thing even though she didn't think she was. Shame we didn't get much of Crank, but you just knew that he was supporting Julia immensely.

The twins; Jessica and Sarah both dealing with very hard life experiences, and will become stronger and closer as a result. We suffered with Sarah after THE Accident, and learned of her recovery. All the while Jessica was dealing with a different set of emotions and problems, both resulting in getting to know their mother on a better level.

Alexandra and Dylan although still fairly young, they have a forever love that can and does weather any storms. They were having some problems and with everything they worked through it all with great prospects for their future.

Well what a truly strong, well balanced lady Carrie is, still grieving the loss of the love of her life whilst dealing with the hard facts of her baby's illness.

As well as the drama caused by her sister's homecoming, with all the political back story that came to light, we learn more about Adelina and how miserable her life had been (she is the same age as me!) she really had dealt with everything as she thought was right at the time. After all she was taken away from her family at a very young age. Then she meets one person who becomes a consistent in her life even though they were apart more than they were together, he fathered two of her children, and really came through for the family when it mattered.

As Richard realizes who Carrie and Andrea's father really is, his life is thrown further into a tailspin.

When Carrie and Andrea meet their father, there is an instant connection, although trust will be earned. This really was a believable scene. And the fact that this part of Carrie's family were able to assist with looking for a solution to helping Rachel's illness.

Anthony and Bear were an integral part of the story, they went above and beyond to help the girls uncover the truth.

The epilogue clears up the majority of loose ends, how each and everyone of the girls have moved on with their lives, all working on their happy ever after's including Adelina. So lovely to see the developments, the school choices and career paths and how the new generation fit in.

Again this has strong political undertones, imperative to the way the story unfolded, it had me turning the pages, wanting to know what happens but at the same time not wanting it to end. This has been a story where love has been at the center, in a life of angst, danger, heartlessness. Full of espionage and intrigue. True romance breaks through taking you on a journey through a myriad of emotions.

The ending was perfect, really enjoyed this series.

Charles Sheehan-Miles is one of the most talented authors I have had the pleasure to read. His writing is brilliant. He delivers a book that has all the elements readers want in a book. His books are very well plotted with sub plots that merge into the master plot. These sub plots give the book more depth and add to the pacing of the book. He adds suspense, intrigue, high octane action, and emotional characters. His characters are complex people with multiple layers to their personalities. Charles adds the emotional elements that bring these characters and their stories to life. Most importantly he shows the high value of love and the importance of family.

The Rachel Peril series has been a phenomenal series from the beginning. The Thompson sisters and their families are the main characters in this series. Each sister has her own story, her own dilemmas and life issues. The sisters are brought together through baby Rachel, who’s health is failing. What starts as finding a marrow donor for baby Rachel turns into a life threatening situation for all the Thompson sisters. Someone is out to destroy the Thompson family and end their lives. As the danger escalates and each sister escapes death by the skin of their teeth, the mystery seems to get deeper and deeper. Who would want to kill them?

As the story unfolds, deep hidden family secrets will surface. As the secrets begin to unravel the element of danger escalates. Multiple villains will get into the action. There will be several players after this family for very different reasons that stem from one hideous moment in Richard Thompson’s career.

The Rachel’s Peril series has many key players that are centered around Richard Thompson’s earlier career in the CIA. There will be several government agencies investigating the Thompson family. The will be several government agencies, national and international that will be trying to protect their secrets. Richard Thompson will do anything to protect his career and secrets, even at the cost of his own family.

This series kept me engaged. Between the suspense and intrigue, my mind was spinning. As the Thompson family secrets are revealed, my heart was breaking. Each time the Thompson women fought back, I was celebrating their strength. My heart broke for these women as the sins of the past finally come to the surface. But what impressed me the most about this series is the dedication, love, and strength the Thompson sisters possessed. Family meant everything and they leaned on each other to survive.

I highly recommend the Rachel’s Peril series. It will not disappoint.

I have so enjoyed taking this journey with Charles Sheehan-Miles and this final book had a lot of expectations to live up to. It not only met them, but exceeded them.
I originally fell in love with the Thompson family in the first three books: The Thompson Sisters. I took a chance, a bit skeptical at first because I doubted that a male author could write a great romance novel (just being honest) but I quickly became sold and eventually addicted to anything and everything that this man writes.
When he took it a step further and began a second series tied around these same characters, I thought, huh?!?! But please take my advice and take a chance. This series is crazy different. It isn’t more romance. It isn’t cookie cutter. It isn’t anything that you have read before and goes so far beyond what you would expect. These characters that you thought you knew take on a whole new adventure. Deep dark secrets of betrayal are revealed that will have your jaw dropping, the tears flowing, and at some points you will want to throw your kindle across the room in disbelief of what has just unfolded. People that you thought you loved will end up being despised. Events in previous books will be revisited and a new light will be cast, revealing shocking details and background stories that will shock you into verbally expressing your ‘No Way!’ reaction.
The energy that this series had was my favorite part about it. Nothing was predictable and the constant twists and turns kept you on the edge of your seat dying to know what was going to happen next. I loved the underlying political thriller feel and although it isn’t my usual preferred genre to read because the story line typically seems so out there from my everyday life, the way he writes these completely genuine and relatable characters makes it impossible to not feel invested. He paints the picture and gives details to keep you straight and you feel like you are watching a movie.
Girl of Vengeance was the last book in the series and it could not have possibly tied things up any better. The conclusion to this family’s journey was downright perfect. I refuse to give any spoilers but implore you all to trust me and take the time to get lost in Rachel’s Peril. It will not disappoint.

First things first.......I never thought I would enjoy a political suspense read. The only reason I read it is because I had to know how the Thompson sister series ended. HAD to. I can honestly say that this is this author's best writing to date. Amazing character building, plot twist and really made me get "inside" the book.

Second.....I never thought I could "understand" a book like this. Yes, I pay some attention to politics but you won't find me watching hours of CNN or Fox news. I know enough to make an educated decision on election day and the rest I really don't pay attention to. I was worried that I didn't have enough knowledge that half of this book would be over my head. Happy to report, that wasn't the case!

Third and last thing.....I love how my imagination was really running wild throughout this book. What I "thought" would happen never happened but the author made a BETTER twist in the plot! This was the perfect final installment in this series. I will recommend to anyone and everyone!

I'm sad to see this series end. As a matter of fact, I could see a few more books occurring if the author so chooses. However, let me say this. The ending is a satisfactory, 2 Kleenex ending. I won't say why, but it is. All of the questions are answered and there is hope for the future. As I said in my review of Girl of Rage, these last three books of the Thompson sister series are not your typical "romance." And yet, it left me thinking "this is what real love is." It made me appreciate what sacrifice is and commitment. How love can conquer even when a price is paid. Well done, Mr. Sheehan-Miles, well done.

Hands down, THE greatest series ever written. Period. Every book. Every page. Simply Phenomenal.

I kept waiting for that one disappointment in the series, that one over the top book where the writer just lost their steam &wrote a book to fulfill a contract, or a deadline & ruin the whole thing for me.

Didn't happen. Book after book after book, page after page of brilliance. Honestly, I am not sure if Charles is capable of writing anything less then genius.

Amazing ending to the trilogy!

Charles Sheehan-Mile's wove an amazing tale thru the tree books, each books getting better and better. It was a journey that sucked you in deeper and deeper, making you wonder how if would play out.

We finally see where all the roads the author has splayed before us like a road map to this conclusion. Learning to the fate of all the character's good and bad. A few surprises.

I was looked in from the word go. One day read!!!

Holy crap! What an amazing series. That epilogue! Seriously no stone left unturned. No lingering questions left behind, which you have to know would be near impossible when you do a series from the point of view of so many characters.

I did nothing else but read this series once I started. You just can't put it down at all. It was an emotional dramatic ride from start to finish. It was smart, well researched and thought out. Loved it!!

Hello book hangover. I've been putting this off because I didn't want this series to end and now...I'm still not happy about it. I mean the series ending, not the book. I want to give this book 500 stars. The story, the family, everything...just wow. This is one of the smartest, most emotional series I've read and I want to read about these characters forever.

This trilogy was perfect. It was exactly what we needed. It ties up - almost - everything that's left loose from the previous books. (Well, that's less of a loose end and more of an insinuation that readers should be smart enough to pick up on - BUT C'MON! SPELL IT OUT FOR ME! I DON'T WANT ANY CONFUSION LATER ON!)

The ending to a nerve wrecking series. A happy ending for all, I still have some questions.

This book tended to get to politic and by explaining and researching all the different dynamics between the enemies it took the story away from the main characters.

In Girl of Vengeance we catch back up again with all of the Thompson sisters right back after the exciting conclusion of Girl of Rage. They are scattered in clusters and scrambling to make sense of how their lives have been torn apart and why people are out to destroy them. Some are on the run, some are getting answers, some are being investigated, and some are just trying to stay alive.

Andrea and Carrie are dealing with learning the real truth of who their father is and all of the girls are learning what their mother Adelina Thompson has been through in her life. But it is hard to layer new trust over a lifetime of heartbreak and abandonment. The whole group is trying to put all of the puzzle pieces together regarding the recent dangerous events and investigations, but there are many factions involved with the past and present situations. The secrets and lies are layered thick and some people will stop at nothing to keep them buried.

"I want to know why I was left to believe I wasn't worth loving."

Speculations and some answers then lead to more questions. It is a frantic race by a host of individuals to bring down the bad guys and protect the Thompson sisters and those that they care about.

It is also an opportunity for the Thompsons to lean on each other, learn the real truth of their shared past, and renew relationships. The silver lining is the truth, discovery, love and hope that comes out of deceit, revenge, and power plays.

Who are friends? Who are enemies? It is all convoluted and nothing is truly as it seems.

"They aren't different at all. For them it is all about power and pride and position. Every one of them went on to become a man of power. It's time someone brought them down."

Underneath the political story was personal of forgiveness, empowerment, and reconnection, and rebuilding trust. And there is still the baby, Rachel whose medical needs started it all and she also becomes more focused on again. The romance aspect was small and it was not really about characters falling in love or actually having relationships, but was more about lost love and the possibility of second chances.

When this trilogy started out, I thought it was going to be mostly Andrea's story. And it was a journey of discovery and reconnection for her. But really it was their mother Adelina's story that was the catalyst for everything. All that she endured ruined her life and had a bearing on the lives of all of her children and their relationships. But so much of what the girls knew was to cover up the pain and the truth. As the layers came off and secrets were laid bare, there was much healing that needed to occur between all of them. We got to delve further into the weaknesses, strengths, and determination of all of the sisters: Julia, Carrie, Alex, Jessica, Sarah, and Andrea, as well as Adelina, Crank, and Dylan. Finally all of the questions were answered and resolutions were provided.

"I wanted vengeance for the longest time. But...that's not up to me. Or you. We're called on to continue our lives...to forgive, if we can."
"Sometimes forgiveness is the hardest word in the world."

This book, like all of Charles Sheehan-Miles' books, was well written, in depth, and insightful. It had danger, suspense, and political intrigue along with complicated family relationships, secrets, and drama. It was told in multiple points of view of many characters with clear date stamp. There was a lot of plotting, intrigue, betrayals, surprises, and twists that occurred both in the past and the present. And as all the factions collided, it became one huge mess. It was a group effort to get to the bottom of it, pardon the innocent, and go after the guilty.

Although I enjoyed getting answers and the ending of the trilogy, I did not feel like it was quite as action-packed as book 2 Girl of Rage and did feel like the middle slowed down a bit. I think because it seemed like the information on all of the players and events kept getting analyzed. Granted some small changes occurred in the stories as they built, but I was anxiously awaiting more action, resolution, and moving forward. And I will admit that I was still hoping for a bit more of personal relationships or romance vs. politics. Granted the personal relationships were explored especially with the family, but the romantic sucker in me still wanted to feel more with the romantic situations involved (Yeah, I know this is a different genre, but I was still hoping).

There was a window at the end that let us see a bit into some of their futures, but since we had come through three books to get there, I might have liked just a little more of their happy endings to top off all of the intense drama. But I still highly recommend the Thompson Sisters series and the Rachel's Peril trilogy. They are very different styles, but still give us time to spend with these characters that are so real, so passionate, likable, but damaged in various ways. Even though each sister and each couple had experienced heartbreak before in the Thompson Sisters books, the story in this trilogy took them and then truly blew their lives apart in ways no one could have expected. But in many ways that was needed to be able to bring all of the pieces back together to form a more cohesive unit.

So I finished Girl of Vengeance a few days ago now and I still really don’t know where to begin this review. There is so much I want to say but so much that I need to leave out because I do not want to give away a single tidbit of this incredible story!

When I first read Just Remember to Breathe by CSM in July of 2013 I felt an instant connection to the Thompson Sisters and really enjoyed reading about them. A few days later I read A Song for Julia and I fell in love. I adored the sisters and all the other characters in their lives and I couldn’t wait to read more. My love for this family just continued to grow and through CSM’s incredible character development and outstanding story-telling skills I feel as though I KNOW these characters. Like, really know them. After 3 books and a novella in the original Thompson Sisters series and then 3 more books in The Rachel’s Peril trilogy I am officially in mourning over the fact that there are no more Thompson Sisters books for me to anticipate release day for. *insert my pouty face here!*

Girl of Vengeance was the last book in The Rachel’s Peril Trilogy. These books, especially this one, truly blew my mind. They were full of so many twists and turns, action-packed to the brim and overflowing with emotional turmoil. The range of feelings that these books ripped out of me was honestly just incredible. I was anxious, nervous, excited, hopeful, elated, crushed…I mean I just felt it all. And the explosive way that this author goes about revealing secrets and big “AHA moments” just left me in shock time and time again.

These books are definitely not just your normal quick reads that you leaf threw to pass the time. There are so many important details that you have to pay attention to. Honestly, sometimes I just felt as though my head was spinning…not in a bad way! In an “OMG, what could POSSIBLY happen next,” or “How much more can this family endure,” kind of way. There were a few different times that I said, there’s no possible way this is all going to make sense. HOW can this all come together. But my goodness, does it ever come together! This final book gave me so many answers. So many mind-blowing answers that make me just want to bow down to CSM’s skills. He gave me closure on every question I had in mind. He left NO loose ends and even gave me closure on things I didn’t know I still craved from the first Thompson Sisters books. I don’t want to sound like I’m just gushing over this author just to gush but truly I don’t think the series could have ended any better.

So yeah, I could go on and on raving about these books, but I won’t. Just know that it is an INCREDIBLE series that will make you think and entertain you for hours on end. It isn’t necessary to read Just Remember to Breathe, Falling Stars, A Song for Julia, and The Last Hour to enjoy the Rachel’s Peril trilogy but if you are looking for a long series to read I HIGHLY recommend starting at the beginning. Although I think these three books would be enjoyable without reading the others first I think the WHOLE series is a journey that everyone should commit to. These books have it all. They discuss REAL topics that other authors are too afraid to touch. These characters open your eyes and make you dig deep to think what you would do in their shoes. So do yourselves a favor and dive in!

Note to Charles Sheehan-Miles:
Thank you for creating my favorite fictional family that I have ever read about and sharing their story with us! I love these stories to pieces. And please…preeetttyyy please…don’t be afraid to go back and decide you want to do another spin-off series someday. I’m sure Rachel will have some interesting stuff going on someday we’d all want to hear about. Aaaand I sure hope Uncle Crank doesn’t leave my life forever! Lol. Yeah, maybe I’m pathetic, but oh well.

oh….and by the way…how kicka s s is Andrea?! My goodness!
Ok..that is all.

Read these books people!

Girl of Vengeance, the third and final installment in Rachel’s Peril, was a fantastic wrap up to the series as a whole. Political thrillers aren’t normally my thing. But because I had already fallen in love with the Thompson sisters, the natural flow in to this series was perfect.

From start to finish, I loved this book and series. Yes, it was not heavy on romance (at all) but as a change of pace, this was exactly what I needed. I love that I can continue to follow the characters I love without having their relationships rehashed or nitpicked just to make a storyline work.

There was so much going on as this book opened, with little lead up. I didn’t have a chance to re-read Girl of Rage, but was quickly reminded where that story left off and didn’t feel confused or lost because of it.

While Rachel’s illness had taken a backseat in the previous books due to all the tension and threats, her health comes back into focus here. Even when it isn’t being directly discussed, that Rachel is present for more of the story and her condition is referenced, her treatment and possibilities for future procedures is at the back of the family’s thoughts.

At times there was a bit of repetition about the details of the investigation, but each reiteration confirmed the truth of the events and connected a few more of the seemingly disconnected events until the complete pattern of events was clear.

The characters were all enmeshed in the political and family drama, working to clear names, uncover the truth, and find reconciliation and retribution. Even as Richard’s glass house is shattering around him, he continues to manipulate and work the people around him, trying to find allies to help him out or shift the blame.

I loved how this family works together to find safety, by pulling together and by staying away. Julia and Carrie in their own ways struggle to make sure everyone is safe and when they can’t control what is going on, the stress levels rise. Andrea continued to surprise me with her strength. As the major target of the threats, she faces the most direct danger and the way she handles that extra pressure, while looking out for her sisters, was amazing. I think she has grown into the strongest of the girls, despite being the youngest.

While this was not a traditional genre that I review for the blog, the way this story developed out of The Thompson Sisters series make it a natural extension to pick up. And while I said earlier that there wasn’t any romance in the story, that’s not entirely true. The epilogue does contain details and hints about the family’s future, including a few romantic possibilities.

This was full of intrigue and suspense, loyalty and betrayal. I read it with few pauses over the course of a day and a half, because this is one story-ending I have been waiting for since Girl of Lies was published in December 2013. Yes, I who doesn’t like cliffhanger trilogies took a chance on this one, and though it was a wait to get each part of the story, it was worth the wait.

I know I need to write a proper review for Girl of Vengeance but all I have in my head right now are adjectives.

Superb, thrilling, chilling, spellbinding, amazing, talented, outstanding, and victorious...

I would use all of them to describe the book AND the author, Charles Sheehan-Miles.

Girl of Vengeance is the final book in the Rachel's Peril trilogy. It is NOT a standalone. You really need to read the first 2 before diving into this one. There is a previous series, the Thompson Sisters, that although, do not need to be read first, do help with lay the foundation to these books. Charles Sheehan-Miles is sitting on a masterpiece here. The plot, characters, writing, are all excellent. The pace leaves you almost sweating. It's so jam packed, so anxiety ridden that even I almost had a panic attack. In fact I put the book down several times. I needed a break. Mostly because I was petrified about the direction author was taking. I was torn between wanting to know and not wanting to know. I feared the story, I feared some of the characters!

There are so many twists and turns, each and every one spell binding. Each one going in a direction I didn't see coming until the last minute. I had some guesses as to who did what and what would happen in the end. Some were right, some were wrong, some were SHOCKING! This is by far the best series I've read as a whole, in a very long time. I still stand by my previous statement, in my review of Girl of Lies, I could definitely see Girl of Lies as a movie.

Except now I want to say I could see Rachel's Peril trilogy as a movie.

Charlies Sheehan-Miles is a phenomenal writer. His stories are deep, intricately woven, with layers and layers of intrigue, deceit, hope, love, forgiveness, retribution, and revenge. All your questions are answered in Girl of Vengeance. It's a roller coaster of emotion. Some pages left me in tears. Especially those set in Arlington Cemetery. My dad is in Section 66 and in this book they're in section 60. I'm not sure why I reacted like I did while reading. Other than to say the author touches on emotions that I often think only I feel. To know there are others who see things similarly...well...

The bottom line; this is a must read trilogy. It's probably the most epic romance and story of family I've ever read.

It’s the epic conclusion to Rachel’s Peril, and the ending I have been waiting for.

IT WAS WORTH THE WAIT.

Everything happened so fast, the people you thought you can trust turned out to be the one you should be careful of. Relationship would change – some would flourish, some would be destroyed, others would improve.

I just wished everyone would have the ending they all deserve (which Charles did – thank goodness). Especially for Carrie – because her story broke her heart, and for someone as special as her – she deserves a happy ending. I was glad how Charles made her ending, it was something I hoped for, but never expected. I didn’t want her to forget about Ray or the love they have shared, nevertheless, she earned her happiness.

Julia surprised me. Her actions had me on the verge of panic, almost cursing her – what in the effin world are you doing?!!! I really thought I was going to hate her, well, I was ready to. But this clever girl had other things in mind. Her ending had me in near tears too.

Adelina Thompson was the unexpected in this series. I didn’t expect she’d earn my sympathy, my respect, my compassion, my admiration and my love. How did Charles manage to do that? I’m not really sure. But it took almost six books before she finally earned it all. And I didn’t think I’d wish her a happy ending when I have read the Thompson Sisters Series. I have wished her ill, I have wished she’d die then. What kind of mother would allow her children to suffer like that? But she had her reasons, she had her demons to slay – and at the end, (I have never expected to say this), but I was glad she had her happy ending. After EVERYTHING she had been through, she deserved it.

I think I have held my breath for so long – I was in a dazed, mesmerized, enthralled, hooked by the turn of events, the twists that had me gripping my kindle, the thrill, the suspense as it continuously bombard my senses. I think my heart almost burst in anticipation. The turn of events will have you on the edge of your seats. So, get ready because Charles Sheehan Miles will give you that one heck of a roller-coaster ride.

The most waited book for me this year and it didn´t disappoint, IT WAS PHENOMENAL!!!

Charles is most definitely one of my most favorite, talented authors I follow and treasure each one of his books.

I started a little backward with this series, my first book was from the Thompson Sisters "Just Remember to Breath" which as any of his other books was beyond any expectation. Then, I started to read the first books and fell in love with them, with the writing, the characters, the plot, with the messages of family, sisterhood, loyalty, trust, courage, love. . I couldn’t put them down. So when Rachel Peril´s came out, I was ecstatic. We have more....yayyy.

It turns out that everything you thought you knew about these characters were turned inside out and became an adventure of very dark secrets, betrayals, lies, loss, strong family bonds, hope, extreme and deep love. As each of the books were published, a constant twist and turns kept you glued to your seat (I usually had book hang overs), nothing was predictable, and you will just want to keep reading to know what was going to happen next.

Girl of Vengeance Is the last book in the Rachel's Peril trilogy and unfolded every detail left from the other series and more. It is a MUST READ! At the beginning I thought these books were going to be about Andrea’s re-connection to his sisters and of course, about little Rachel and his medical issues. However, it was Adelina’s so fateful story, all she endured during her life that ruined her and had a direct impact on the bearing and lives of all of her children that really get your attention and guide the plot.

The conclusion to this family’s journey was epic and downright perfect; like I said before, it will not disappoint! This could certainly be a very thrilling, amazing movie. I loved every piece of it and I hope this review helps you to go grab them and enjoyed them as much as I did!

Although these books have a connection with the series “Thompson Sisters”, their style it’s totally different.
They are very compound, with schemes, about secret services, war, politics, family, and abuses.
Written from the perspective of numerous characters, sometimes it’s hard to keep up the pace being a lot of protagonists.
Notwithstanding the fact that it’s about the main characters from the first series, the writer succeeded to create a different narrative with same people. Meaning, a lot of things in the first books you could not suspect, by not alluding, and giving us explanations.
From the absence of those details he could create another shocking and captivating story.
There are intrigues, threatening situations and stories for each character, and for some you find out the truth only at the end. These are very good books and captivating.

What fascinate me the most, was the fact that he created two stories so dissimilar, by omitting in the first books excruciating details. Like, in the Thompson Sisters Series it does not mention at all the aspect that there is a possibility that the sisters may have different fathers; the mother it’s described as a hysterical and not involved in the daughter’s lives.
In this series, it’s absolutely shocking to find that 2 of the sisters have a different father and that the mother has an explanation for her behavior, and you see her with different eyes. The father it’s not at all what it has seemed, and you uncover that he is really the bad guy.
In the book “Just remember to breath” one of the sisters it’s not mentioned at all and you remain with the feeling that something it’s missing, that the author forgot a character, but you find out the truth in this series and all has more sense now.

I preordered this in August and I've been dying to read it! I was not disappointed, it was every bit as good as I hoped it would be. It was crazy intense and I kept forcing myself to slow down because I couldn't wait to see what happened next.

Adelina was a truly fascinating character in this series. I can't help comparing her a bit with Cersei in the Game of Thrones books. I completely hated her at first and then getting more of her story, couldn't help but feel sympathy toward her. Nearly her entire life has been devoted to protecting her daughters and I loved watching her relationship with each of them slowly mend.

The political aspects of the book held my interest and (with much disgust) I could totally see a lot of it happening in real life. The rabid grabs for power, the god-like confidence that they alone know what's best for their country, the grandstanding at Senate hearings...Ugh.

I liked that we got to read the different POV from the villains of the book. Seeing inside their (enormous) heads, only made me root harder for them to get theirs in the end.

As in the previous two books, the Thompson sisters were the heart of the book. Carrie was my favorite in this book, she's fierce and vulnerable at the same time. She's also the character that made me tear up the most, her story is just so heartbreaking.

I do wish there had been a little more Crank, he provides much needed levity in such an intense book. Bear and Dylan made up for that a bit.

The epilogue was perfection. Sweet, emotional, and ending in a good place for almost everyone. Although I selfishly admit I would still like to see more books about the sisters, especially Sarah and Jessica.

You ever read a book series, get to the end and feel as if there are still unanswered questions, you don't have the ending you want and it's just not right? THIS BOOK IS NOT THAT.
I started of the "Girl of" series a little skeptical. Don't get me wrong, Charles Sheehan-Miles can write like no other, the books were just so different from the initial Thompson Sisters' series. I'm gonna make myself sound "dumb" for a moment, but I almost felt as if they were over my head, there were so many facts and different characters and GAH! It made my head spin. By Book 2, I felt more confident in who all of the different characters are and I was even forming my own conspiracy theories. I was very much looking forward to the release of Girl of Vengeance. I wanted some answers. I didn't want to feel like I was wandering aimlessly blaming innocent people (yes, I realize they're book characters).

Charles Sheehan-Miles more than exceeded my expectations with this book. I can't even begin to tell you the number of times I was holding my breath because of something that was revealed. I cringed with disgust. I cried because...I just couldn't. I cried happy tears. To say that this series ended perfectly isn't doing it justice. The detail that went into this story, the character development, the way all of the ends were tied together, this book is definitely in one of my top fave reads of the year.

I absolutely adore seeing the Thompson Sisters in a somewhat different light.

Girl of Vengeance starts where Girl of Rage ended and brings a conclusion to all the scheming and mysteries with all the excitement of the first two novels leading to a very satisfactory ending. The strong relationship of the Thompson sisters and their willingness to stick together and help one another to finally understand all the lies they have been told by their parents and become stronger and more supportive of one another shows the strong family vaules they have developed. They also learn to forgive when they help their mother when she finally tells the truth and by working together they work to put to right all the murders and crimes of their father.

Charles Sheehan-Miles has put together an exciting story showing how strong family values can overcome evil and how people working together for what is right can find the peace they deserve. When faced with pure evil, they all show courage while supporting each other and working together. The story has a mystical element and some issues are still in the air at the end of the third book. It is not a cliffhanger because hints are given to resolve all issues for the six sisters and their mother.

I have enjoyed all three books in this series, Girl of Lies, Girl of Rage and Girl of Vengeance and look forward to reading more by this author.

I don't even know where to begin writing a review for this book. It was amazing, suspenseful, and I have never been so invested in fictional characters as I've been with the Thompson sisters.
I've been a huge fan since I read Just Remember to Breath, my heart broke with Julia in her book (Song for Julia), and I probably cried all the way through Carrie's story in The Last Hour. Charles Sheehan-Miles is such a great author and has the ability to capture every emotion in his stories.
When I heard about Rachel's Peril trilogy I could not have been more excited and they did not disappoint!
In Girl of Vengeance, I was sitting on the edge of my seat through out the entire story. There were times when I wanted to cry, there were times when I had to put my Kindle down so I wouldn't throw it across the room in frustration! There was so much suspense and mystery that kept you completely hooked until the very end!
Basically I loved everything about this story and would recommend it to anyone who likes a good action packed novel.

I won this advanced copy and can I just say that I was not disappointed! It was so addictive and absolutely shocking.. I did not want to put it down. Unfortunately I did not have time to read it as quickly as I would have liked due to exams being around the time of release. I am actually quite happy with the way it ended. We actually get to hear from Richard and Adellena's view and have a look into their past which makes you realise how everything went about. I found it better to read the Thompson's sister before reading this to get a feel of the characters but you definitely don't have to you could read it from Rachel's Peril #1.

By far one of the best series and Charles Miles Sheehan again hasn't let me down! Please share around how amazing his books are they need to get more publicity and must be read!

Wow. I'm kinda blown away. This was an amazing conclusion. There was so much going on through all the three books and in the end it all made sense. I had my doubts that all this would make sense with all the many people involved. But it did and it felt so damn realistic.

I'm even more in love with George-Philipp than I was before and I'm so happy that the book ended the way it did. But I have a hard time forgiving Adelina for her behavior even though I now understand where she was coming from, but some things she did in the three prequels is hard to forgive. I guess I can do it though if her daughters do it.

As for the sisters, I'm happy that in the end everything worked out for them. It's nice to see that all of them get their happy ending.
