Beyond the Veil

Rate this book
Tessa lost everything except for her brother a few days after her twenty-fifth birthday in a horrific automobile accident. It doesn’t take long for her to decide that she needs to get away from the town that she has always called home, and she makes the decision to move to the suburbs of St. Louis, Missouri, with her brother, Mitchell, in tow.

Life goes back to normal, and Tessa is able to move on, until she realizes that her new house is haunted by the spirit of a young woman named Lauren. Not only that, but it only takes a few sessions of the girls talking to one another for Tessa to quickly realize that she is falling head-over-heels in love with the spirit. When she finds out that the other girl feels the same way, they embark on a journey to find out whether love needs to have a physical form in order to be something real.

2.5 stars, only because this book was a bit too much instalove for my liking. Others will rate higher, but that is a hard plot point for me to overlook.

Excellent Read!

I am a big fan of Rebekah Blackmore and this book did not disappoint. There are a few good reasons for a “ghost” to be sitting in a house. So this story became a mystery as well as a love story. (Will try not to reveal too much)Once Lauren appears in Tessa’s new house things for them take a different turn as Tessa engages Lauren. They learn about each other’s lives and the tragedy that each has endured. We know ultimately what drives Tessa and her brother to leave their home town but we only have a few facts to go on for Lauren. As their relationship develops and they realize they love each other in this very weird circumstance, Tessa happens upon a tragic situation in a hospital visiting a friend. Everything after that turns Tessa and Lauren’s world upside down. This was so heartbreaking yet so heartwarming and the love that these two feel is unmatched to anything they have ever felt. The story works it’s way to a great conclusion and has a great epilogue that makes you feel good all over.......

Wow! Interesting story!

Tessa and her brother just moved into a new house in a different city and they find a ghost. Not the spooky kind but then Tessa is having thoughts of Lauren the ghost or is she a ghost. You can put your hand through her, kind of cold to do it though. How did she become a figure with no substance? Who was that figure in the bed that Tessa saw in another room while visiting one of her work mates and her newborn? Interesting! Enjoy!
