Sometimes you have to lose everything to find the one person who can save you.

Ex-Marine Corps sniper Axe turned his back on everything he loved when he became the Sergeant-at-Arms for the Inferno MC. The fallen hero was determined to drown out the ghosts of war with an unrelenting path of self-destruction. He had no plans to set foot in his hometown of West Bend, Colorado ever again.

Until the Inferno MC betrayed him. Now, there's nowhere left for him to run, except back to his father's ranch. Where he would come face to face with her.

June Barton.

The Navy surgeon was his first love, but now she's all grown up. She gave up her scalpel to return home, tired of losing her patients to war. All she wants is peace and quiet, but when Axe shows up, he turns everything upside down.

Can two broken and damaged people get a second chance at happiness? And when the Inferno MC commits the ultimate betrayal, will Axe's need for vengeance destroy his soul - or could June be his salvation?

This is a standalone full-length novel with a HEA and no cheating! The series can be read in any order, although it is recommended to start with book one, Taming Blaze, in order to understand the club dynamics.

Saving Axe is about the Sergeant at Arms of the club, Axe aka Cade Austin. A former Marine sniper with five deployments and a Silver Star, he’s on a downward spiral. He’s sure some bad things are going on with his club, but he’s not clear-eyed enough to suss anything out. He’s drunk or seriously hung-over most of the time.

When he and another brother are betrayed and on the run, he finds his way back to his father’s house where he tries to make peace with events of his past. Little does he know, his high school love has bought the house next door to his father and she’s almost as messed up as he is from her own time in the military. It’s a very good setup but the story is padded ridiculously with repetitive inner monologues from both main characters. Things don’t get interesting at all until the last half of the book.

Some horrific things happen in that last half -- some things that our “heroes” are involved in. That didn’t endear Axe or other characters to me. They lost some sympathy in those scenes. I get the rage and the vengeance aspect, but really, this stuff was hard to read and – at least in my opinion – unnecessary for a satisfying ending. It all felt gratuitous rather than gritty and real.

There is another book – Breaking Hammer -- and I haven’t decided yet whether I’m going to read it. I looked at the sample at the end of book 2 of the series, but it looked like a setup suited to more gratuitous violence and revenge fantasy and I’m not sure when or if I’ll be up for that.

I liked this even more than the first book! Axe has been through a ton of shit in his life. He joined the Marines and they trained him to be a killer. Then when he got out, he joined an MC and was their enforcer. Now he's been betrayed by the club and is hiding out in his hometown, where he reunites with his old girlfriend June. She has also been through a lot of bad things and they fit perfectly together. I love that Axe has his demons, but is still strong and takes care of June. Plus, he's adorable with Crunch's daughter. This was a good read; it had plenty of romance, drama, and some sadness.

OMG!!! Loved this book. It just has you hooked. from the beginning this book just had your attention. Sabrina did such an amazing job with the build of the story of axe and June. I went through all of the emotions from happy, to anger, sadness and redemption. The vengeance was beautifully classic, but it was hot all the way around. Plus I went through a whole bag of M&M's so that is how awesome this book is.

I enjoyed this book a lot! I really liked seeing June and Axe’s relationship flourish back up when they were reunited after so many years. It was definitely filled with smut, but not too much that that was all the book was about. The last 20% I flew through as it was so action packed and I just needed to know how it ended. This made me want to read the other books in the series.

I was given a ARC copy of Saving Axe for an honest review just Tuesday at 3:38 am. I just finished reading it and I loved it. Great story line, great characters, I do wish Axe would have got a swing in on Jed though, the little shit deserved it. Absolutely love Taming Blaze and Saving Axe did not disappoint. I love strong female characters and June defiantly is strong. This book takes so crazy twist and turns at the end that I did not see coming and I strongly recommend you buy it when it comes out July 14. As of now I am looking for my next good read and biding my time for Breaking Hammer.

If you don't like spoilers don't read any further.

Axe takes Crunch and his family to his fathers house in Colorado after Mad Dog has ordered axe to kill Crunch for stealing from the club, but Mad Dog sent a few other members to kill Axe as we'll for not backing his play (from the first book) to start dealing with the cartel. When Axe arrives in at his fathers house his high school sweetheart, June, is there talking to his dad, as she has just moved back to town and bought the place right next door.

She fights her feelings for him because she can't stand that he is a "loser criminal biker". He fight his feelings for her because he thinks she is too good for him and all his "bullshit". They finally get together and spend a couple days in bed, which ends in a fight, of course. After a talk from his father and both of them seeing each other talking to someone else in town Axe finally professes his love for June. But that is not where the story ends it takes so very unforeseen twists and turns and I strongly recommend you read it

As I wipe the tears that are falling down my face, I will try to review this heart wrenching book.

I think this is the best book I have read from this author! Wow!

Axe(Cade) touched my heart in so many ways. He felt he was a terrible person and he was far from it. A war hero, suffering PTSD just needing a place to fit in a reason to keep going. War does terrible things that we can't always see in a person. Cade has been through hell and back. His dad is very judgmental at first, but comes around to really see his son for the man he is. They have a very touching father/son moment. For all that Cade has done you can see his progression from Axe back to Cade. He is sexy as hell too!

June also has her issues. She too suffers from PTSD and is looking for a place to land. I like her because she is totally honest with herself from the minute we meet her in the book. Strong woman. Her past with Cade comes back and their undeniable pull comes back tenfold. I like that she stands up for herself and tells Cade exactly how it is for her. She does get a tad mean with him, but he does the same to her. Loved her!

Now if you are looking for a whole bunch of sex not going to get that. This is pure story with some hotness. Not your average MC story. No instant back in each other's arms. The characters are developed well and bring out you emotions like you are in the story. A true sign of a wondefully skilled author. This takes a dark turn and wrenches your heart. I cried through the last 20% or so. Have your tissues ready.

Enjoy! I did! I am off to the last installment.

Yep, another good read.

I enjoyed the follow on from book 1. I found exploring the psyche of Cade (AKA Axe) quite insightful. He is a very complex guy. On the outside - badass, tatted, biker, ex-marine killer. On the inside guy who just wanted to belong and was left traumatised by the things he'd seen and experienced to date. Axe also had this whole other persona, where he wanted to love June (our leading chicky) but did not feel his worth....beat yourself up why dont you ?. Life's to short dude. If you want some-one and there is a way, then go for it !!. Finally he got my memo.

June, again another complex charachter. On the outside she is a women who has experienced major loss, become driven to be something other than the events that shaped her early life. She is also I thought at the heart a women who just wants peace and to just be.....
Thankfully her and Axe re-kindle their "first love" and give each other a go. Despite each one's hangup's.

Wow my heart bleeds for Crunch & Mac....no more on that one, you'll have to read the book ;)

I will indeed be reading book 3 when its available - Hammer and Meia's book. Sheesh, from the quick teaser at the end of the book, Meia has been throught some MAJOR S*IT.

So, I would defo recommend Sabrina's books. They are actually quite quick reads. Not because they are particularly short books, they just flow.

4 Solid Stars from Me.

Well done Sabrina x

Definitely different from other MC books I've read. Possibly because the setting didn't take place in a clubhouse. The first half felt like a cowboy romance too lol

This series is interacted and I highly recommend you read Taming Blaze first!

This is Axe & June's story....
Axe is a good guy! You can see this straight off when he takes Crunch, April & Mackenzie home to his dad's to hide them!
This is when/where he meets June again - his first and only love.
June lost her mum, dad and sister 8years ago. They both have their demons, June being a surgeon in the Navy and Axe as a sniper in the Marines then as an enforcer in the MC.
All Hell breaks loose when the jealous local Sheriff lands them in it and now they're all in serious danger....o.m.g...tears galore!!!!!

Blaze & Benico (from Taming Blaze) help get revenge - and you'll need a strong stomach!!!

Can they all move on?? Roll on Hammer....

Wow...an amazing rollercoaster ride! I loved it and the characters were great. It was a strong mix of the mental anguish of military life and it’s aftermath, the joys of loving your soulmate and the freedom to be happy with life. A lot of emotional issues were addressed as well as the coldness of revenge.

Well written.

There was an element of suspense and intrigue. This was more of a second chance romance then about the MC. Axe and June have a history, they meet up when Axe is on the run from his club. The MC was mentioned but this was not entirely set within the “MC world”.

This author puts more reality into the story. It makes it a little more harsh maybe but more real to life. There is more thought put into this than the formula MC romance. A better read

We left off when the Inferno Motorcyle club had helped Blaze and Dani get even with the man she thought was her father but he was the monster that killed her mother. Her real father Benicio helped the club with man power and wanted to get them away from all the other bad things Guillermo was having them do but mad dog the clubs president had other plans for theclub he was stealing from Benicio and wanted to link up with the mexician drug lord. When one of the biker had found out what mad dog was doing and had proof it . mad dog sent Axe and tank to go get rid of them but when Axe was with them he wanted to see the proof he knew mad dog was up to something and when they are surround with open gunfire it is tank who is killed and then the place is set on fire and axe having military training got them out just in time to see it was his bike club who tried to kill them. So they end up meeting crunch’s wife and daughter somewhere and they all went to the one place he knew they wouldn’t find them west Bend Colorado his hometown. It had been 3 years since he was home after his mother passed away. His father told him to never come home again as long as he was in this club. When Cade Aka Axe shows up his father isn’t happy with him but allows him to stay since he has April and little girl Mac with him. June has always loved Cade Austin since she was a young girl and when a tragic accident kills her parents and her sister hangs herself she is forced to move away and live with her aunt. She kept up with cade and knew he was in the marines and she went into the navy and became a doctor and went on a tour with some marines hoping she would run into him. After having some trouble with her job she quit and moved back to West Bend Colorado and was going to be living across from the field from the Austin’s home she was going to run a Bed and Breakfast since it was becoming popular with skiers . she pulled into her drive and got out to see Mr. Austin standing there so she went over to talk to him. Stan as he told her to call him was so happy to see her and they were chatting when the sound of the bikes pulled and then a van. One of the men took his helmet off and it was him Cade she knew those eyes and when walked up to the deck it was his father who slapped him and then little mac started crying and Cade picked her up and calmed her down as her father didn’t say a word. The more time he was home working he couldn’t help but remember the times he was with her and she was always his one true love. June tries hard not to give into cade but finally she cant fight her feelings she has for them. Cade has been trying to keep crunch and his family safe as they know if the club finds out they didn’t die they would come for them and kill them. They where finally feeling safe and June was out riding and Cade and Crunch went into town with Mac it is when cade is pulled over by one of his old class mates who has the hots for June and tries to plant drugs in the car and takes them to the jail. It is then cade hears the police scanner going off about a fire at his father’s home he runs out and drives as fast as he to get to his dads house knowing it was going to be bad . This is where is lost it and cried for awhile and it is still stuck in my head. They get a hold of Blaze and go to Benicio and show him that mad dog had been stealing from him and trying to get in with the Mexican drug lords . This time its personal and they take out the ones who did this to his family and to April. They have a meeting and bring in mad dog who has been beaten up and has his hands tied behind his back still threatening them. The club votes for his death and Axe is the first to stab him and then Crunch and Blaze then the others walk up and pass the knife around. So with everyone is gone axe aka cade tells Blaze he is done and going back to Colorado to live his life with June and make his father proud of him. Crunch sends his daughter to Aprils mom so he can try to deal with her death ,This book is still sticking with me after a week of reading it . I was gifted this bookf or my honest review and loved it ! I am a big fan of hers now:)

I was given an ARC of this book for an honest review.
I purchased and read book 1 (Taming Blaze) of this series and was very satisfied with the writing style of a first time new author for me. I enjoyed the story line and characters and looked forward to the continuation of the series. This book is a standalone but I highly recommend reading book 1 to get the background on Axe and the story background that leads into book 2.
This book is not all about the violence, sex, and criminal acts associated with a lot of MC romances released today. In Saving Axe, the author effectively deals with many issues to include PTSD, grieving, redemption, forgiveness and love. There is violence and sex but the focal point to me was all about relationships and bad choices that ultimately affected each of the characters’ lives. It’s about a second chance with your first true love, the love between a father and a son and a moral struggle to recognize right and wrong.
Axe is the Sargent at Arms for the Inferno MC and has killed with little compunction many times. He has done so in the name of the club and believing completely that he committed these acts as part of protection of the club, the club that in the past has provided him brotherhood a sense of family and loyalty. Axe is an ex-Marine sniper who went off to war, killed many people and came back a hero. His father, his town and other family expressed nothing but pride for him for the medals he has won for the killings he has done in the name of the military. He is lost, alone and adrift and finds the brotherhood he is seeking in the Inferno MC. However in doing so he is disowned by his father and that breaks his heart.
When book 1 ended, we know there is dissention in the club and the club president is trying to turn the club to dangerous, criminal activity with a drug cartel. Axe has had misgivings for a while about the direction of the club. He is on a mission to save himself and a brother club member along with his wife and child after discovering the club president tried to kill them. He returns to the only safe haven he knows, his father’s farm and the place he grew up. He returns as the prodigal son knowing his father wants nothing to do with him as long as he is associated with the club.
Upon his arrival he finds that his first true love has also returned and they are reconnected after a 20 year separation. June is a strong heroine but she carries a lot of emotional baggage and insecurities after losing his parents as a young teenager and a sister to suicide. Axe, June and Ax’s father all want to assume responsibility for the deaths and they all go through the various stages of learning to adapt to the fact that none of them are responsible for the deaths. Axe struggles to reestablish his relationship with his father and his father finally realizes that his son came home from the war suffering PTSD and he never realized that fact.
The author succeeded again in drawing me into the characters and feeling their emotions. All of their feelings were realistic when you put all of the things they experienced into context. The first part of the book was kind of slow to me but once the action picks up at about the half way mark, the action and intrigue increases. Much of the first part of the book is Axe and June reconnecting, as well as Axe reconnecting with his father. Even though I enjoyed book 1, it seemed as if the author’s writing matured with book 2. The story flows well and the author engages you into the lives and feelings of all the characters. The secondary characters, Crunch and April and their child were projected in such a way that I could feel the love between them and the sense of family. I look forward to book 3, Crunch’s story, in which Axe will play a part. I’m hoping to see more of Blaze there too.

“There’s been no one since you, June. No one that matters. It’s you. It always has been. I lost you once. I can’t lose you again.”

I read Sabrina Paige’s West Bend Saints series a few months back and it was in that series where I first met Cade/Axe and June and I really liked them in those books. Part of their back story was hinted at in those books and at the end there was mention of this series to get the full story. So I was excited to read this and finally see what happened during Cade’s time with Inferno and how those events led him back to June. I think you could read this as a standalone but I was glad that I had just read Taming Blaze, the first book in the Inferno MC series, and especially the bonus novella at the end of that book. The novella in particular really sets in motion the series of events that unfold in this book. I enjoyed Taming Blaze, but I liked this one better. I think part of it was that I already liked Cade and June since I had met them in the other series (which is set after the timeline of this book) and also because this book had more suspense and a lot of action. Plus I really enjoyed the second chance romance aspect of things, I liked that they had a history and seeing them try to deal with their feelings for each other while also trying to come to terms with all that had happened in their respective lives during their time apart.

When this book starts we learn of the betrayal that Cade suffers at the hands of the MC, who he had considered family for many years. He ends up returning to his home town of West Bend, CO where he plans to lie low and figure out his next steps. It’s here where he not only has to face his father who had once been so proud of him but more recently had been let down by his decision to join Inferno but he also has to face his former love, June Barton. June has also just returned to West Bend, the town where she once lost everything, but she’s now looking to make a fresh start here to try to escape the other demons from her past. Both of them are drastically different people now than they were when they last saw each other and it’s definitely a bumpy road as they try to find their way back to each other. I really liked that their reconciliation wasn’t instant, they had to work for it and they had to work out their issues (both personally and with each other). The fact that they had a history together also made their relationship more believable and I found myself rooting for them to work things out.

There are also plenty of external forces that threaten to destroy everything they’ve been working towards. Some really crazy stuff goes down in the last few chapters of the book, I’m still debating whether it was necessary to go ‘there’ with the storyline, but it was pretty intense. If it had to happen, I almost wish it had happened earlier in the book because I would have liked to have seen them maybe work through healing after that happened a little more. But I did enjoy the epilogue and it was helpful to have known them from the West Bend Saints series because it only reinforced the HEA of this book.

I enjoyed this book, it had parts that felt like your typical MC romance book but since most of the book took place on Cade’s father’s ranch it also had sort of a country western feel to it. I mean what’s not to like with a sexy biker/cowboy, right? We also got a little set up for the next book in the series, Breaking Hammer, and now that I know who Hammer is I am looking forward to reading that book next!

“You forget, Axe. I’ve been through dark places.”
“And you chose light.” I said. “You chose to walk the straight and narrow.”
“Not always,” she said. “And not now. I know what I’m choosing. I’m choosing you. Whether it’s to walk in darkness or in light, I’m choosing to do it with you.”

3 Axiomatically Hot Stars

I found Saving Axe, the second book of the “Inferno MC” series, a lot more interesting than the first.

Axe, aka Cade, and his high school girlfriend, June, both left their hometown of West Bend, CO., after the death of June’s parents and sister turned their lives upside down. Cade headed into the Marine Corps (Semper Fi!), and June became a surgeon in the Navy. Twenty years later, both running from their pasts, they are back in West Bend, trying to figure out their future.

Axe, has been betrayed by Mad Dog, the head of his MC, and has returned to West Bend to hide out with Crunch, an MC brother, and Crunch’s family. His father’s ranch is the safest place he knows, and the only place he can think of going. June is a “hero surgeon” recovering from PTSD. Unable, and unwilling to perform surgeries any longer, she returns to her hometown to run a bed and breakfast, and recapture a quieter life.

There’s a lot of tension between Axe and June when they first meet again after almost 20 years. They were each other’s first loves, and those feelings are still strong, even though their adult selves are different people. It doesn’t help that outside forces are affecting the way they interact with each other, and the push and pull are heating things up between them.

While trying to come to terms with his need for June, Axe is also dealing with the betrayal of his MC, and the guilt that he has brought danger into the lives of the people he loves most. His father, while initially angry that he brought his MC danger to the town, and his home, soon reconciles with Axe, and welcomes Crunch and his family with open arms.

As the story continues, the relationship between Axe and June becomes more like their old relationship, but with restrictions. Axe becomes more confortable and secure that they won’t be found, and allows himself to relax. He finally comes clean and shares his experiences with June, telling her the secrets he has spent years keeping. They both begin to heal, and tentatively Axe opens up and shares his feelings with June.

Of course, this is when things go south things went very quickly and really badly. I knew that something bad was going to happen, I just didn’t expect what did happen, and how it would affect me. I got all teary eyed and walked away from the book so I could vent. I blamed the town sheriff, Jed, and his need to prove that he’s the biggest a-hole in the area, but the blame falls firmly on Mad Dog, the head of Inferno MC and his special brand of evil. After I dried my tears, I was left with a strong desire for revenge. I was ready to pack up a bag and go kick some ass. Axe, Crunch and Blaze, with the help of Benicio, handled it or so sweetly. The members of the MC that were responsible got theirs, but I still want Jed…dead. Has a nice ring, doesn’t it? I’ll wait, because I know it’s coming.

I really enjoyed this book. I had a few reservations about “Taming Blaze,” and wasn’t sure how I would like “Saving Axe,” but I’m happy to say that it is so worth the read. June’s strength, Stan’s love for his son, the strong sense of family and community (except for Jed), and the story of lost loves that find their way back together after 20 years are all the perfect recipe for a great story. I also loved the cameo of Dani, Blaze and Benicio, the mobster with a bit of a heart. If you have a few hours to spare, spend it with a hot biker and the woman who helps him reconcile his past, and build the future he never thought he could have. You will enjoy it.

I received a free copy of this book in exchange for an honest review.
I remember reading the first book in this series Taming Blaze, and thinking what an awesome and fresh story this was and I really enjoyed the different and original plot twists. I also read the bonus wedding chapters after the book with the lead-in story of Axe, where we get some insight as to what is happening with him and the corrupt Mad Dog.
Now with Saving Axe...wow...this book touched my heart on so many levels and left me reeling in parts.
Axe runs home to hide, not because he wants to be back in the place that holds so many wonderful but really bittersweet memories for him, but to help a falsely accused brother and his family, who were marked for death by the club. Axe, as the MC's enforcer was supposed to carry out this deed but when some information comes to light that changes everything, they all flee and head for his family farm for safety.
June was Axe's childhood family friend and one time love...and of course she happens to turn up living in the home across the field from Axe's father, causing much turmoil and confused feelings for both of them. They once shared a love of horses and riding together and they once again find themselves bonding over their love for the animals ( a cool parallel to bike riding).
I really liked that this book was very emotional and deep...PTSD plays a part in that both June and Axe had served in branches of the military at some point in their pasts, and they both came back damaged and suffering from regrets and anxiety attacks.
Where June dealt with her violent and damaging experiences by heading to a quiet more normal life in the country, running a bed and breakfast, Axe used his skills and pent up aggression to join an outlaw MC and become their enforcer, choosing to get out his rage and anger in more violence. I loved how these two individuals, while they dealt with their problems in exactly opposite ways, were deep down really the same and more alike than they thought. When huge tragedy strikes them all, June and Axe make decisions together that will change the course of the future for both of them and learn that sometimes you can go home and come back from the depths of hell without losing the goodness inside of you.
A really beautiful, violent, at times sweet, and sexy as hell love story of forgiveness, redemption and healing. I can't wait for the next book in the series which will be about one of the men left standing at the end of this one.

♦️WHAT WORKED:
➖This series doesn't glorify and romanticize the biker/motorcycle club lifestyle. The H's in the series are becoming unhappy with the activities of the club, want better for themselves and their women. We get small pieces of the club life but these books are not entirely focused on the MC lifestyle.
➖Stan, Cade's dad was a really great character

♦️WHAT DID NOT WORK:
➖small inconsistencies. (i.e. On page 29 Cade has dark brown eyes, but on page 73 he has big blue eyes)
➖very little description is given of June's appearance - I still have no idea what she looks like.

♦️WARNINGS, TAGS & STUFF: second chance romance - 20 years apart, PTSD, H has sex scene with OW, man-whore H, violence, descriptive torture and murder

♦️ENDING: HEA. Epilogue - 3 years later. No Cliffhanger for Cade & June, but the epilogue sets up the next book about Hammer (Crunch).

♦️QUOTES:
"This girl knew every button to push with me. It was like I'd been issued an owner's manual at birth, and she had a copy of it, knew exactly what to do with me". ... "June had this way of handling me that made me like it."

"If you knew what I did, you'd think I was a monster," I said.
"We're all monsters."
