All I want is to be left alone in my mountain home, far away from the pitying looks people give me. I didn't ask for these scars, but they're a part of my life now—a life I'm destined to live alone.
My younger brother and his new wife are trying to find me a love match. They're so in love that they want everyone around them to feel the same.
Unfortunately, that life isn't in the cards for me. I served my country, and I don't owe anyone anything. But that doesn't stop the curvy little spitfire who arrives at my doorstep, claiming to be my mail-order bride, from disrupting my quiet life.
I can't decide whether to keep her or return her to sender.
Jessa
Signing up to be a mail-order bride was my only act of defiance. I grew up in a loving home, believing I was destined to find and marry the love of my life.
But last month, after my parents were tragically killed in a car accident, my uncle took me in as he was my last living relative. According to my parents' will, I couldn't access my inheritance until I turned twenty-five or got married, whichever came first.
My uncle's greed drove me to desperation. Faced with living under his strict roof for the next five years or marrying a man of his choosing, I chose neither.
Instead, I searched the internet until I found the perfect solution—a modern-day mail-order bride service that matched me with a mountain man within days.
The only problem with my plan was that the mountain man didn't sign up for a mail-order bride. My only hope is to convince him to keep me and not ship me back to my uncle, return to sender.
He ordered peace and quiet. She's neither.
Deep in their mountain sanctuaries, these reclusive alphas thought they had it all figured out. A mail-order bride service promising no-strings companionship seemed like the perfect solution. Too bad these virgin brides didn't get the "temporary" memo. Now, these grumpy mountain men are about to learn that their solo paradise just got permanently crowded.
The Mountain Man Santantuary Series will all feature growly hermits who are about to meet their match in the virgin brides who refuse to take "go away" for an answer.
The Mountain Man’s Secret Bride is part of the Mountain Sanctuary collaboration with several authors. This is a short and quick refreshing romance read. Bay prefers to stay in his mountain cabin, away from those that would look at and treat him differently because of his scars. Unbeknownst to Bay, his new sister-in-law signed him up for a mail order bride as she wants him to find love and happiness like she did with his brother, Brooks. Jessa signs up to be a mail order bride to get away from her uncle who is trying to run her life to get her inheritance. Jessa finds herself standing on Bay’s doorstep, snuggling with his dog. After disclosing her reasons for becoming a mail order bride, they come to an agreement to get married to fulfill the requirements of her inheritance. Before they can get married, Jessa gets a big surprise. Will Bay let down his walls and let Jessa in? Will Jessa be able to swoon Bay and make this fake arrangement a real one? This is a great short story!!
All the books in this series make me fall in love with this mountain man family just a little more. These virginal mountain men will leave readers panting. Bay is Brooks' brother. if you have been reading this series, you know who Brooks is. Bay is at home when Jessa Spence shows up on his doorstep claiming to be the mail-order bride that he ordered. Bay knows instantly what happened but still has a hard time turning this beautiful woman away. Besides, a storm was coming. Jessa had to stay at least one night. That night Jessa laid out her situation. Will Bay be willing to help her? Though the attraction is off the charts, they will be married in name only. Is that what they both really want? Things get even more complicated when Bay sees that Jessa has drawn him. All of him. This book had me snapping my fingers a few times. Bay is gold. Despite not having experience, he knew the right things to say. Yassss, Ms. Ryan!! Bring on more mountain men!!
Ela é uma criança adorável e me conquistou no livro anterior.
In this book we meet Bay and Jessa Bay lives up in the mountains and feels like he doesn’t deserve anyone. He thinks there is no possible way anyone could fall in love with him because of the way he looks. But of course his younger brother’s wife is dead set on finding someone for bay.
Jessa hasn’t had a very good life she just lost her parents and so she goes to move in with her only living relative her uncle. She finds out that living with her uncle isn’t worth it so she signs up to become a mail order bride
One morning Bay hears a knock on the door and it’s Jessa there to be his bride and the rest is history. This book was cute short and fast pasted i really enjoyed it.
Mail order brides for the win! Because Jessa did in this one.
Bay is a wounded vet who doesn't think he deserves a wife. That is, until one shows up on his doorstep thanks to his sister in law. But she’s too sweet and pretty for him to turn away like he wants. And being around her, he's quick to change his mind on every having a wife and family. Their fast spinning love story is just too dang adorable!
I really like that Jessa doesn't see Bay's scars, she accepts him scars, insecurities and fears with no judgement - which is beautiful to see. They are lovely characters and easy to like. Unfortunately this book is littered with typos throughout and feels rushed, lacking depth. I read this on Kindle Unlimited.
The Mountain Man's Secret Bride is a good Grumpy Sunshine novella.
Bay and Jessa have an instant attraction. Bay is grumpy at Jessa at first thinking no one could want him due to the scars. He is very insecure and pushes her away. They have a serious talk about why she signed up for the mail-order bride. They try to keep things married in name only when they finally take the leap and confess their attraction. It's short, sweet, spicy and the ending is perfect for them!
In order to escape a difficult situation involving her uncle, Jessa volunteers to become a mail order bride and gets matched with a mountain man named Bay. This was a really cool story. Jessa needs to get married fast to gain her independence and get her inheritance. Grumpy mountain man Bay turns out to be just the right man for the job. Definitely recommend these quick read novellas.
Short and sweet and a bit spicy! Jessa needs to get married to keep her inheritance out of her greedy family’s hands, and Bay didn’t even want a wife…until Jessa shows up. They decide to help each other out. Then, their attraction and feelings take over. I love this family!
This book is short and sweet. Bay definitely wasn't expecting Jessa. It was cute to see these two give into their attraction for each other. The spice was great and the epilogue was perfect.
