Mmmmmmmmmm, I liked this story, but I didn't love it. I wish I had something constructive to say as to what I did and didn't like about it, but I don't. All the elements were there for this to be a 4 or 5 star story, however on some level it just didn't grab me.
Just because I haven't given it 4 or 5 stars, don't let that put you off of reading this, after all I did like it. It is an interesting read and the subject matter (death) is handled well.
I just didn't find this book very appealing. I would've liked Savvy to put up a bit more of a fight. I find that cat and mouse games make stories so entertaining to follow. There didn't seem to be a lot of depth throughout it, so it felt like Savvy and Jackson were more interested in the physical nature of their relationship vs. emotional. I've never been a huge fan of short stories, so that may contribute to my opinion, as well.
This short story was amazing! It hit home with me and I loved every minute of it. I actually couldn't put this book down once I started reading it, which is very odd for me. I love Kelly Collins as an author and family friend, she's absolutely amazing!
