It had caught up to me, and I was now faced with the reality that Pastor Malcolm may not be my biggest problem. There was something far more terrifying waiting in the shadows that threatened everything and everyone in my life. Something that was setting my world ablaze in a flame that I may not survive.
This is a slow/medium burn fantasy reverse harem that features a naive but strong MFC with a troubled past and a secret about what she really is. Come meet Maya and her protective and possessive dragon shifters!

Sinclair believes there is enough room for all types of heroines in this world, and that being saved is just as important as saving others.
Just remember to love cats... that's not negotiable.
I don't know why I bothered trying. This author seems to enjoy brainless, flighty stupid twits as her fmc. Ugh and I swear if I have to see the word "authentic" used to describe a smile or feelings I may just tear my hair out. There are tons of other words out there that can be used!!!! Sinclair has a fabulous imagination but the delivery is not to my taste.
What the heck was that ending?!?!?! Just NO! 😭😭😭 I have no idea how I'm supposed to wait for book 5 after reading that! I also wasn't expecting the book to end so soon, but that is what I get for reading so darn fast 😅. Maya and her mates better have a really good happily ever after or I'll riot. They deserve after everything they have been through, especially Maya!!
I was sure this book was the last one but noooooo!☹️☹️☹️ I begin to be upset with these too long series with painful cliffhanger, and too far release date🙄 In this book, the story took a new turn and a tragic one😢 Maya faced again Malcom and Lorn, and is still hunted by the media. She kept on finding the other phoenixes who must be held captured like her somewhere. And when they finally found some peace, all hell broke loose and it was very very bad☹️ Expect an excruciating cliffhanger... And you know what is the date for the final volume? August 2022!!! 😅🤦🏻♀️ Don't know if I must laugh or cry...
I don't even know what to say right now. I am so ARGH! My heart rate is up, I am anxious, the cliffhanger ending made me swear.
This book had me from word 1. It was action packed and so well written. The story is filed with angst and I couldn't put it down. Maya is really coming in herself, while still maintaining her sweetness. Other characters are fleshed out beautifully. If abuse is a trigger for you, then this is not the book for you. However, the author handles it well.
My only problem with this book is that it ended. I need to know what happens next.
I love Maya so much. From the very first book, she has been a favorite heroine of mine. She may not be well versed in the world of people, but she is very strong and resilient. Maya’s life hasn’t been easy and her flight makes it their mission to make her life a dream. After coming home from finding out she is a princess and a blue Phoenix, she immediately is in a fight for her life. Pastor Malcom is a d-bag to top all d-bags. He’s not a good man, and Maya has made it her mission to stop him. But he’s just a puppet with a much larger puppeteer pulling strings.this book had me flipping pages so fast to get more. The one thing I always forget is M.Sinclair can write cliffhangers like she’s not about to destroy our lives….. this cliffhanger is a doozy. On the edge of my seat until the next book is out.
Better than the last, less inner monologues and it actually took place over several days. I just feel as though the series is dragging - this book being super short seems uneccesary to break it up. I will finish as I do still like the series. Maya is growing more, but I like that she's still naive and learning. We've had 4 books leading up to this heat, so it better be good!
What the hell was that?! 😭 Nooo!! I have to jump into the last book now to get over that cliffhanger! Best book of the series so far, even though I’ve given each one 5 stars. Amazing RH series! And this new character that has come in at the end….I think I’m gonna love him, and I think I know where the story is going to go regarding him. And I don’t think that’s going to bother me at all, even though I wasn’t expecting it.
I have been patiently awaiting this release after that cliffy in book 3, and M. Sinclair did not disappoint. This book had a bit of everything, it definitely had me hooked and on the edge of my seat. And OMGOSH THAT ENDING LIKE WHATTTT
I am so immensely happy that I started this series when it was already completed. That cliffy was cruel and unusual punishment. I am off to start the last book now.
Ugh. This can't be happening!!!!!! 😩😭😭 That cliffhanger 😢 I want the next book NOW!! I can't wait ☹️ How can the author do this?! This is torture. TORTUREEEEE!!! . On a happy note, I totally predicted that she was the Queen's daughter from the first book. I KNEW IT!!! 🥰

What had such great potential is rapidly turning into a meh series.
Instead of focusing on anything, this series just keeps scramming more and more issues onto the pile to stagnate but has all the time and attention for frivolus, meaningless things.
Malcom mentiomed working with a local coven, mentioned a person by name and nothing. She never brings it up, its forgotten until suddenly the guys somehow know and have done zero about any of it.
Lorn has been a constant threat and yet theae dragons, who are supposedly some of the biggest, baddest and scariest beat him up once, leaving him free to pull his stalker crap through multiple books. There are entire paragraphs about how deadly these dragons are and they don't kill a direct threat to their mate? Why?! Dragons are supposedly top of the shifter power, Lorn's bears pack should have cut off his head and given it to the dragons as a please don't kill us all gift or the dragons, as written, should have ripped him apart and not give a damn about the political complications with the bears.
And why is it everyone knows about mates but seemingly doesn't know about mates at all? Anna is a perfect example. She knows they are mated to Maya, who is COVERED in their mating marks and flight brand and Anna thinks that they'll totally be DTF if she hands their mate over to be tortured and God knows what else? Same with Becky. She's a shifter, she knows how mating bonds work. The guys are clingy and possessive but again, she thinks humiliating Maya will make any of the dragons suddenly chose her. And hell, even if they did it wouldn't make her their mate so what would be the point?!
Worldbuilding matters, a lot. Don't make fated mates a big deal and then write like its a choice or something that everyone treats like nothing. You can't tell me that the Shifter community as a whole doesn't have laws about not messing with mates.
Same goes with dragons. Don't tell me these are some of the strongest. scariest, smartest ect and then write them like weak, stupid idiots. Atlas runs a security firm that is sought after and can't even secure their primary residence?! Maya keeps getting taken because they keep leaving her alone?! If they are so strong, leaving at least 1 with her should not be an issue, especially since there are so many of them.
Maya is a mess. Loads of talk about getting therapy, about getting herself together so she can be a super-special phoenix badass but nothing every comes from it. They dominate her, and it never causes a single trigger, and they let her whims dictate their course. She's not allowed as a character to be anything but sweet, caring and perfect and anytime she slips out of that role and might actually get some depth the author quickly shoves her right back in helpless but perfect mode.
Oh no, we killed mages that were part of torturing me and maybe even others whilst they were actively attacking us but they might have familes, I'm super conflicted but some sex and a few paragraphs later I'll be totally over it and flit around being sweet and pretty. She's allowed to be an amazing artist, but it has zero purpose and like everything Maya related is something the author brings up and then drops in favor of reminding us again how sweet and unjaded she is.
And on top of everything else, in the midst of all the threats and barely knowing each other everyone is getting baby fever. Because its totally the right time to have kids when Maya has yet to be safe for an entire week at a time.
I think the next book is the end of the series but even if its not, if there is not some drastic changes it will be the end for me.
Lots of action and intrigue. This does get darker than previous books in the series. More is revealed about what is happening to the Phonix's but we still have a lot more mystery to work through. Looking forward to the next book.
WOW! This series is so good! I can’t tell you how much I’m enjoying this story so far; everything about it is perfect. I upgraded my previous 4-star rating to 5 stars because I love it so much.
The world-building was truly well done. I felt immersed in this world of fantastical beings. We learn about the intricacies of Earth's supernatural and Dreki worlds. We learn about the council and the other supernatural people, their interactions, and the innate hierarchy. It’s explained slowly - we’re immersed in this new world and not simply told. There are no large, boring info dumps, either. M. Sinclair is really good at this, making me enjoy her books even more.
The character-building was also really well done. Each character is well fleshed out with distinct personalities. They all have lives and backstories that make them feel more natural. She also does this intricately, in such a way that we aren’t just overloaded with details. I’ve slowly learned about everyone right along with the FMC.
The relationship-building is masterfully done. It takes a talented author to make real emotional connections between the FMC and seven men. More often than not, in RH books with large harems, the relationships feel like they’re only about sex. M. Sinclair made us feel a real and strong emotional connection between Maya and all her mates.
Now, about our FMC… I have to admit, I was a teeny tiny bit annoyed with her in the first book. She acts like a 12-year-old at first. However, it makes sense, so I didn’t mind too much. This girl has been locked in a basement her entire life. Of course, she isn’t going to act like a mature adult woman. Also, she’s 18…so she’s not a mature adult.
As the series progresses and Maya learns more, she starts acting less and less like a preteen. She’s still terribly naive, but it fits her, and anything else wouldn’t feel real. Maya acted the way she did because she had no reference point and was approaching an entirely new world outside her basement. I liked reading about her journey.
Anyway, I really like the series so far. It ends on a rough cliffhanger, but all the books are out now.

Holy freaking moly! This was so good! I devoured this book! I couldn’t put it down for a second. The suspense happened right of the bat and never lessen for a second. I seriously love Maya and her mates! I liked how she does one on one and then do things together as a family.
But what was so shocking and kept me so anxious was toward the end of the book. First, Malcom has got to die ASAP and in the most painful way. What an evil bastard! Second, does Maya have another mate!!!??? You know the one that’s an angel! And who calls her a sweet nickname and sacrifices himself for her and the others!!? Like 😱 OMG!! YAS! Third, who the heck is that major villain in the end!? Book 5 needs to have him and Malcolm and all the villains die and then Maya and her mates live happily ever after!
Love the character growth and challenges they face on their own and together. Also, loved the meeting with Nova! Whoop!
Harem of mates: Marco, Henry, Atlas, Sai, Ledger, Anari, Croy, and maybe, potentially Azarel!?
I love these books. I really do. We all hate cliffhangers. So Maya is still stuck between being sweet and innocent and her Phoenix side. So since her for to Dreki she knows she is actually royalty but of course that means nothing to her. So now they're be in Seattle and again there's the news vans. And of course the pastor and Lorn are free. So all the trigger warnings were made for cliffhangers like these. I'm off to get the meds cause my anxiety went through the roof. And to Ms. Sinclair I say , " I love your books and he's this cliffhanger was evil. At least she met Nova and Fox. 😢😢😢😢😢.
I couldn't do it. Maybe I'll go back and read it but 10% and done. She's gone a broken her knees again and I give yp! Fyi, this is what the author says instead of, knees giving out. Or weak in the knees. And monologues. So boring. I know I said that I love.multiple POVs so I know what they are all thinking but even I know there is a fucking limit! It's been met and it's been surpassed!
Oh....I was cussing up a storm after the last page. My husband thinks I'm insane, well more insane lol. Because and I quote "It's just a book, the author has a life"....I KNOW!!! But but but we're on book 4! If we made it this far we're already hoooooked and don't need traumatizing cliffhangers and sometimes expensive (I have a habit of throwing my phone...on accident of course). With that being said, I loved the book and can't wait for the next lol.
I should have waited to read this series until all the books were released... I'm so put out right now! Just freaking speechless!
OMG! I have to wait until July 2022 to finish this series, and when I tell the author seriously dropped us off the damn Cliff with this ending!!!! I just have no words!
So, M Sinclair is easily a go-to author/read for me. Not only do I enjoy her writing style, but she also refrains from cheating tropes and bullying by the harem (which I appreciate). Not to mention the woman never sleeps, releasing so many great books, and I’m sure has more amazing stories to come. However, I do not love her stories because they’re comfortable or easy, oh no, you will be kept on your toes AT ALL TIMES, waiting for some metaphorical shoe you never saw coming to drop. Seriously, the routes her stories take is just mind blowing and I can’t get enough. Not only does each series have its own unique and lovable characters and storyline that entices readers to make strong connections (even when they’re straight up psychos), but then she does something like intertwining SIX or more of her series to eventually come together and defeat a great evil I know is coming. And it’s so subtle at first too! You’ll read one of her series, seeing little nugs of info or conflict dropped here and there, but when you keep reading her other books in the Horde universe you realize all her characters are connected, whether they’re aware or not, and will eventually come together to kick major ass while still showing us their individual relationships and storylines. UGH, it’s just all so good. But yeah this major rant stems from how blown away by book four of this series I am. I absolutely cannot wait for the fifth and final book of Maya’s series to get here. Book four lived up to my expectations after reading and re-reading the first three books many times, I couldn’t have asked for more.
what the heck is this , i somehow maneged till book 3 , thinking there will be some character development, there will be some real story... but wtf??? what the heck this is???....
the fmc is literally so weak amd pathetic....i thought after getting her phoenix she will somehow become a little more fierce, but she is too timid... the story is same really....only one thing is happening... the weak little girl is with 7 mates lol who says to her they will protect her....again and again...
and times and Times again she gets kidnapped ,and gets hurt... literally?? they are standing right there doing idk what?? and she is getting kidnapped....
and her pathetic self can not do anything, so she just cries....right now where i am dnf ing... she was going to get assaulted , apparantly ,they were being followed and she was being kidnapped , but she thought its good to celebrate Halloween...so they went to a club...where all 7 of her mates went somewhere else, ( it was a distraction) they didn't thought she can get hurt again...and a pathetic school boy , kidnapped her and tried to assault her , and she was like ...omg what should i do , my pathetic and weak self can not protect me .. then her phoenix literally burnt him to ashes...and then after 2 seconds the Mmc came, it was like they were waiting for her to get assaulted or smthg??? ...
its too boring i cant continue this shit , i thought it will be better....i thought there will be some character development , but no shits happening , she is still weak and timid , and they are all growly and possesive. but can not protect her lol ❌❌
There are too many inconsistencies in these books. As i have mentioned in the review of each book in this series so far, the phrase Breaking her knees is not right and shouldn't be used.
So, I get that have a time discrepancy between earth and the other realm, but if she is 18, been gone for 13 years on earth, wouldn't that just be a few months in the Dreki realm? There isn't anything to explain that.
I like that more is happening, but at the same time, we are cramming in a lot of new things at seemingly the end of it all. At this point, what was the point of all the high school crap, or Becky, or the craft store? It was just inconsequential filler to stretch maybe 2 books into 5.
This author has a good story, but there are just too many stretches of nothing happening, rather than building characters and relationships. Having so many mates in an RH is too many because normally you wouldn't have enough time to flesh out them individually. This time, she does and yet still doesn't do it. I am convinced that the twins and Sai aren't even needed in the story.
I will finish it up, but this really isn't a series I would recommend so far.
Grrr!!! If I didn’t know the next book was going to be just as awesome, I would be so mad at M Sinclair right now. That ending was pure evil. At least she acknowledges this in her note at the end 😂 Seriously though, this book was good. It started with action and ended with action. I was sucked in from the first page.
Maya, with the help of her mates, has been trying to get free from her past, but the past just won’t die. Now, she finds things go a lot deeper than just Pastor Malcolm, and she may not be able to escape it. Will she ever get a happy ending?
I enjoyed seeing Maya finally start to get her voice back, and also that she now feels comfortable enough with her mates that she can ask for what she wants. The more confident she gets, the stronger their bond grows. I also liked that we got to get to know a few of her mates that we hadn’t before. The last book I felt a couple were kinda pushed to the side, but Sinclair definitely made up for it in this one. I’m now anxiously awaiting the next book.
Maya and her men are back and we pick up from where we left off. So one thing I love about this series is how Maya seems to be adapting to things. The guys are head over hills for her and it is so enduring. Here she will see the guys in a different picture. Will this change how she views them? She also gets a sense of feeling that she needs to get away. However she is starting to nest! Wait say what? Yeah, it seems as though she is getting close to collecting all her mates. But she senses something foreboding. She shrugs it off though. Then something happens and all of a sudden her happiness is about to be shattered. We meet a few new people and learn a few things. This is not boding well at all. I mean can Maya catch a break. It is like the fates are yanking on her bonds. Now I have a few questions about a few things and hopefully we learn a lot in the next book. I did not see any of that coming. Now we have to wait and see what happens next. This is another great book in the series.
Talk about disappointing, this whole series just disappointed the shit out of me so far. It could’ve been so great because I love all the males and I like the general story. But the author couldn’t pull it off. First of all, why give her seven mates if the authors is not gonna do anything with them? I mean, the author only focused pretty much on three of the seven. Maya didn’t do anything really with the twins or with Sai and Atlas. Poor Atlas was basically only her babysitter for her kitten. It just doesn’t make sense to give someone that many mates and not really have any relationship development or intimacy with all of them. The story would’ve been better if she only had three or four mates. And now there’s even a freaking possibility of an eighth!!!!!! When there’s only one book left to go!! And why does Maya have to come across as a 10-year-old it’s creepy ? The girl walks around with her little kitten, talking about loving glitter. It’s just creepy, especially when a sex scene happens. all the other times acting like shes a teenager or tween. Again, creepy.
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ This has been an eagerly anticipated release for me, especially after how book 3 ended!
We pick up following the events from the end of book 3 so the action began immediately! I absolutely love Maya and her guys, how protective they are of her is so sweet, they’re only sweet to her of course!
There was a lot of action and drama in this book but also some really lovely moments as well, I absolutely loved the Halloween dress up scene, Maya definitely tortured them with her outfit! The bonding with her mates was adorable, as well as the nesting.. oh I’m so excited to see where that goes!
But can we just talk about that ending!?!? I was like you can’t leave that there!!! I have so many questions and ran straight to M Sinclairs reader group to discuss all the theories. I’m hoping the release for the next book gets moved up so we get some answers and relief, but at the same time I don’t want their story to end!
This series just keeps getting better and better as It progresses.
We truly are on a journey with Maya as she continues to find her true strength in herself and with her mates. We have uncovered a lot of secrets about maya and her true identity as a shifter.
This book really picks up in the action as maya continues to bond with her mates and man..was I not expecting this cliffhanger. It’s left me reeling for the next installment to see how maya and her mates get out of this predicament.
Also, let’s talk about how we seamlessly see other characters from the horde universe come together, even briefly, and give us more depth all around. It’s such a fantastic blend of worlds and characters and Sinclair just continues to out due herself.
The next book can’t come soon enough, but if you haven’t checked out this series yet don’t let the cliffhanger stop you. There is plenty of binge reading that can still be done and Maya and her mates are worth the journey!
Dnf. I couldn't handle anymore. What started out as good smut is now making me just tired. Kidnapping loses interest for me. There can only be so much of it.
Also, book 3 had total miscalculations of timelines. Apparently there's supposed to be time that passes faster in the Dreki realm. Mkay. But they bring up two different years. 13 and then 20. Which is it? When they get back to Earth realm, a day and a half is a month. She was taken when she was 5. She turned 18 in the human realm. If you count 13 years at 1 day=1 month, that's almost 1,000 months. Which is like 80 years or something. So in the Dreki realm...how is it she's only been gone for almost 20 years when that is LITERALLY not the case?
I feel bad for the lady that offered her that job at the craft store. For real.
Too many mates, too many pages, too many books in the series. If I was sick from not "mating" my mates, best believe I'd be biting each of them within 24 hours.
How…how could you do this to us?! Evil is right ma’am! This series has been great and every book I fall even more in love with Maya and her mates. I love Maya’s innocence and her overall goodness. Despite what she’s been through, she still sees the good in the world and in others without letting the bad stuff ruin her. I wish I could even just be half as amazing as Maya is. I sadly let everything ruin my outlook on things a long time ago and it’s made things way more difficult than they should be. Maya is the good in the world and I love how much her mates adore her. Each book always hits me right in the feels and I know I’ll be adding every single Reborn book to my collection because of my love for this series and the characters. M. Sinclair always has my money and my heart! I cannot wait to read the final book!
60% of the book was filler and a little boring but OMG the last chapters hit me like a dump truck.
Tbh I feel that the trauma and pasts of not only Maya but all the MMCs is being left out, I mean there’s no healing they’re just ignoring it which is bad because I really don’t feel any character development.
The whole Azrael thing I think is going to be unnecessary because adding another mate is just too much right now and at this point of the books. I don’t even think there’s enough solo time with each MMC.
The plot is still slow going and there are just more unanswered questions and problems than answers or ways to solve them.
I think is time for May to find her ovaries and becomes the badass she has the potential to be so Im hoping to see more of that in the next book.
Do i think that this series could be shorter? Yes, I definitely think so
I give this one 3 stars because it was slightly better than the other books. I'm still really confused as to how all the different plots are going to tie together. Lorn, Anne, Azrael, and weird 10 foot dragon guy now? There's a lot going on and I honestly can't figure out why everyone is out to get Maya. If the blue Phoenix is such a prize, why didn't they go for the queen? How, if this phoenix kidnapping has been going on for centuries, has no one gotten involved? It's especially confusing since dragons have to breed with a phoenix to get pure dragon or phoenix babies. Wouldn't the dragons be protecting the phoenix's? Maybe we'll find out in the next book. Right now I just feel like there are too many things going on.
Maya's character may be growing a little, but it is really random when you see changes. She also seems to black out way too much.
