A former assassin. A world on the brink. The chance for redemption.
Danzen Ravja has always been a killer, but on the day he finds himself standing over the corpse of an old friend, he knows it is time for a change. Even if it takes everything he has, everything he is able to do, Danzen will rebuild heaven.
He has reached the highest level of cultivable power in the Kishu Kingdom, but as he soon knows, he has a long way to go if he truly wants to be strong enough to take on his demon father and his jealous brother.
Nova, the fallen angel, continues to encourage Danzen to collect the Fatebricks of Sunyata, the tools necessary to rebuild heaven. But others want to stop him, including a past instructor, an Evil that his brother has brought back from the grave, and a mysterious performer known for her bladed hand fans.
There are worse things than the Evils his brother has unleashed, and as Danzen progresses forward into an uncertain future, he must push himself to his very limit to triumph over the challenges that lay ahead. He must go beyond the power of his echo to save those he cares for.
And after he does that, he'll need to pay a visit to hell itself to find the final three Fatebricks.

The covers of these books are absolutely beautiful and so spot on regarding the way I imagine the looks of the characters. The artist is wonderful.
Another classic in this series, and Mr Cooper has pulled out all the stops. Once again, Danzen Ravja has the weight of the living - and the dead - on his shoulders. I love this series, and each book just gets better and better. There is SO much between these pages! This is exciting, an edge-of-the-seat, squeaky bum read, packed full of atmosphere and menace.
Danzen still has to deal with the last of the Evils, his father (you know... the bloke in charge of Diya/hell!), and his demon half-brother. Danzen's still not strong enough to deal with Nomtoi, but, boy, is he trying his utmost! There's also a mysterious - and very strong - newcomer around, and plenty of yokai and major challenges. All whilst trying to locate and collect the Fatebricks needed to rebuild Sunyata/heaven.
This is a high quality read- a riveting storyline and plot, wonderful world building, emotional and heartfelt storytelling worthy of anyone's time, with lots of action, twists and surprises. Seven books in, and it's still one hell of a series. Roll on eight, I can't wait!
Pilgrim: book 7, by Harmon Cooper. Looking for a big change of pace? Described as a progression fantasy/cultivation series inspired by the Witcher books and games, John Wick films, the Inuyasha anime, the Preacher comics, and the movie Yojimbo, look no further, you’ve found it. Far Eastern lore is very different from the familiar European stories we grew up with. The hero, Pilgrim, is a former assassin and half-demon son of the devil. He has decided to rebuild heaven which was destroyed in a war some 300 years ago. Balance must be restored or hell will take over the mortal world. Pilgrim has evolved since the start of the series becoming much more introspective and truthful to himself. All he wants is a “normal life”, but hey, can a half-demon really have that? Pilgrim’s god-like powers are growing fast but he is still nowhere near powerful enough to take on his half-brother, a full demon, in the battles sure to come soon. Way too soon. Come enjoy a mythical story full of new incredible creatures that you will come to love. I received an advance review copy for free, and I am leaving this review voluntarily.
Another wonderful story from this epic Pilgrim series, as Danzen is forced to face more of the evils and others who don't want the return of heaven. With so much happening and so much happened already, I find it amazing that each book feels fresh but still part of the overall tale. We have seen our stolid assassin grow in power and skills while gaining more of his demon heritage, but surprisingly more of his humanity as he does so. The inner circle of those who have followed also have gained a life of their own and the most worrying aspect I forsee is what happens when we get to the end of this series. Luckily Cooper is doing more Yokai based tales although in a different world but these stories have definitely gained my interest and stands out against many other cultivation books I have came across so far.
Author Harmon Cooper continues his action-packed series featuring Danzen a half-demon, half-human assassin. He got tired of the assassin business and retired and was immediately attacked by assassins. He dropped out of sight and was found by his fully demon brother, who was out to kill him as a potential rival to rule hell. His father, the ruler of hell, wants him to be his successor. His mother wants him to rebuild heaven, which fell to earth hundreds of years before.
That covers the first six books, aside from brutal battles with demons and monsters in every chapter. Danzen continues to gather the powerful remnants of heaven methodically. He has loyal friends and one who is more than a friend.
He has a choice--should he join up with hell-spawn to rebuild heaven? If not, his whole mission will fail and he will die.
Book 7 and still it manages to surprise me and Danzen as well it seems. He's becoming stronger, but still has a long way to go. There's lots of action and fighting and a bit of emotional changes for our hero. Nomtoi is still a very serious danger and Danzen is becoming more emotionally soft. Not good when you need to defeat a murderous demon. I am looking forward to the next book to see how this will play out.
I received this book for free and wished to leave a review.
Danish continues to work at bringing the world back into balance as his brother works in the background to stop him. The MC continues to progress with there magic and his personal growth. Overall it was a good book. I was given a advanced copy of the book for a honest review of the book.
Danson realizes that help whatever the form is Not weakness and sometimes even a monster can think of redemption he gains a couple of very strange new “friends” and realizes how much he cares for the group of friends that have been around him like family
What a cliffhanger!! Omg, I can't wait to read the next book, and to see what challenges come next for Danzen! This had a lot of great plot progression, and character development!
