☆☆☆3.5 JUNKY STARS!☆☆☆

You can find the full review and more about this book on my blog!

The cover?..what can I say. It's one of the worst I have ever seen.It doesn't match with the colors and the font and anything. The book is so much better than the cover, way way better. This is one of those books you should not definitely judge by it's cover.

This is a fantasy young adult with a lot of weird stuffs. It reminded me of The Caster's Chronicles series, the plot mostly. If was a fun read, not the best, but it's a great quick escape into the Monsterjunkie World.

description

I had a problem this the book's length. It's so short and even that the characters were well described and well developed,it still lacked details. You can find here some really cool characters, but were not described as I wanted.Maybe if the book was longer, the story wouldn't go that fast and we could focus more on the world and characters.

What intrigued me to read this more and more is the perfectly way the author collided the fantasy with life lessons.Judging by the cover, you may think this is not appropriate for children, but it is.Very educative!

I recommend this book to every reader out there.Actually I recommend the whole series. It's a great read for these cloudy days.

Having read the first book in the series I approached this offering with a mixture of excitement and anticipation. I’m happy to report that all the attributes that made me enjoy the first story are still present and have been built upon. A whole year has passed from the previous engrossing events but still obstacles block the path of the family.

The outside world’s cruel remarks and actions leave certain members of the family feeling upset while traumas and a crisis also threaten to cause disruption in the group. Once again important real life underlying messages are present regarding the way we should treat others. It’s rare for a book to combine entertainment and life lessons so well so the author must be praised. A real strength of this literature is the characters, each one has a strong individual personality and they all play an important role in the overall story. I feel that because of their endearing qualities and the challenges they face I was able to emotionally invest more in them and their journey.

To summarize, I have to say I’m really impressed. The high standard the first book had has been maintained. Young adults could learn a lot from it whilst enjoying themselves at the same time and for that reason it wholeheartedly deserves 5 stars.

Fascinating story.

I began reading this book as a sample on my Kindle, but had to buy the paperback so I could pass it along to my nephews (ages 16 and under). I'm always looking for well-written age appropriate books for them. This is definitely one of the them. The author does a great job developing the characters while creating a fun and interesting world. I especially enjoyed the themes of inclusion versus inclusion. I also enjoyed the author's touching on real-world conservation issues. Can't wait to talk about this with my nephews - very fun read!

Very well written book

Quite astounding. I couldn’t sleep so read this. I did not want it to end. Animals galore and a lot of good information. Characters are like your next door neighbor. I really enjoyed it.

Imagine the smells of sea foam and chocolate-scented orchids meandering through a macabre mansion as raindrops create hidden messages on the towering windows of a Thunderstorm Room you’ve just entered. You swear that one of the gargoyles guarding the front entrance winks at you as you glance out the open windows. It is dusk. A ribbon of bats dances across the sky. You turn around and notice old books written in Latin and German lining the walls alongside a row of framed photos of headstones of deceased souls dating back to the 1800s. On the coffin table sits a dimly lit candelabra while a black cat named Echo lies curled up nearby. You try to soften your footsteps on the creaky wooden floor, to no avail; however, Talon, the cryptozoologist father of the two teens who live on this vast estate, is preoccupied with gazing through his telescope, completely oblivious to your presence. Then, his lifelong love, Pandora, pagan and mother of Indigo and Cromwell, enters the room as they comment on how much they love the dark, dreary weather. Meanwhile, another unusual creature has been delivered to add to their collection of odd, rare, or thought to be extinct animals. You have entered the realm of a gothic family where the magical is real and the bizarre is normal, at 1313 Road to Nowhere in Foggy Point, Maine. Welcome to the Monsterjunkie Manor.

Ah, but all is not well in the quirky Monsterjunkie world. Outside forces are scheming to rid them from the area while the teens and their friends cope with harassment for being different. When Cromwell (“Crow”) was fourteen, he was teased because of his last name. But this story is not about monsters; it’s about an unusual last name and an unusual family legacy. Of course, it does not help that the name itself brings suspicion and rumors about what goes on at this mysterious residence. Will their private world be exposed?

In The Monsterjunkies: Sanctuary, Indigo and Crow struggle with the consequences of love, loss, and trauma in the face of haters while wrestling with their own futures. Sanctuary focuses on an enchanting family trying to raise their children in a world that is not.

This is book #2 and again, as in book #1, I have nothing but high praise for this tween-centric novel about an unusual family that cares for animals thought to be myths, or extinct. The writer touches on things troubling today's teens--bullying, suicide, dating and growing up. Another theme is how we humans need to care for the earth and all the creatures upon it. The book goes a little overboard on preaching this message, but it's a good one, and hopefully kid readers will take that view to heart.
