A world destroyed. An axe to grind. And a path to infinite power. Welcome to my reality.
The prestigious Legionnaire Academy of Du Gok Bhong—an institution centuries old and one I never thought I'd qualify for, much less attend.
Yet here I am, a Gold Bracket contender and 8th Tier Core Realm Cultivator, starship-bound to compete with the thousands of other tributes from the occupied colony worlds across the stars.
For most, it's a death sentence. For me, it's my one chance to gain the imperial status I need to liberate the Earth and marry the girl I love.
It'll mean facing the demons and monsters of the Hell Worlds and the powers of the Cursed Stars beyond. But even that pales compared to the princess-sized cougar who'll stop at nothing to have me for her own or the dark god still gunning for my soul.
I'll need to play my cards right to stay ahead of it all. To grow in strength and power all while outwitting my enemies plotting against me back home.
They say getting an education is a ticket to a brighter future, but in a place where only one in ten survive—will I have what it takes to make the grade?
No clue, but when comes to survival of the fittest, no way is a Berserker going to fold.
Path of the Berserker Book 3 is a progression fantasy novel that contains immortal cultivators, an oppressive intergalactic dynasty, rage-inducing imperial bureaucracy, magical spirit beasts, fantastical martial arts, and one pissed-off MC who's sick of it all. Fans of Western-style cultivation fantasy, post-apocalypse, and Xianxia will enjoy.

It's common for these gamelit series to start falling apart as more and more books are added. They get boring and repetitive. It sometimes feels like the writers just get too comfortable, and the quality suffers.
But not this book! Had a hard time even putting this one down. Can't wait for the next
This is easily proving to be my favourite series right now, and my other books are just holdovers until I can get the next book from Rick. Well worth the read.
I found myself binging the three books that are out now as I ended up being sick just in time for Christmas. I have very much enjoyed the story So Far. There were a couple of chapters in the first book that I didn't like but then the first book was twice the size were near enough to this one. At the ending of the book there's a link taking you to the author's patreon that at the time of this review shows that he has finished book four and has started the first few chapters of book 5. I expect them to be smaller like this entry. I'm hoping that book four gets released January or February of the new year. I do try to separate the quality of the work from my personal feelings. As far as I can tell the writing is quality. I did pick up on the fact that there's a little bit of a repetitive nature when our main character gets into a jam. It tends to follow the path of is this the end, I can't fail I've got people relying on me, to hell with. Followed by bam, pow, victory. Back to this entry specifically our main character is split off from all the supporting characters from the first two books more or less. So it's how are the supporting characters going to deal with their troubles without the main guy and while the main guy is concerned about what might be going on at home he's too busy really to think about it all that much. So this pretty much the Academy Book for him. It does look like he's going to get some R&R so I'm not sure how the second book is going to start but it should be covering the fights on these hell worlds.
Virtually nothing to dislike about this series. The pace, the characters, the story, the growth, the combat, all better than 99% of other progression series out there. I’ve read over a dozen of them. This better than DCC and Primal Hunter. It’s a 100x better than Unbound. It’s 100000x better than Defiance of the Fall. Anyone who’s a fan of those series, read these to see how you should feel when you read progression fantasy!
My other favorite series that I think nails those same points better than 99% of everyone else is The Path of Ascension, but I may like Berserker even better because the payoffs are so top tier.
Once again, I want to praise the author for his work. He’s truly talented. He clearly has a vision for how this plays out and he starts those threads so early, it’s just very refreshing in this genre to see it done at all and done so well. I’m praying you get the recognition you deserve and start selling these at the top of the genre, cause that’s where they deserve to be! Don’t just put your kids through college, get em a house too!
BLUF: A good book series, well worth the read! (Free on kindle unlimited)
I truly enjoy how the story is unfolding, this book seemed more ‘rushed’? Then the previous two. By the end of it I was left with more questions than I started with. Not sure where we will end up at, books down the line.
The MC seems makes quite a few constant contradictory choices or maybe it’s just him changing into his new role? Not sure. I preferred the Max from book 1 and 2 more than how he is now. His throwing away his friendship over trying to learn another technique, seemed contradictory to how he normally is portrayed and acts.
I am looking forward to the next book and will continue to keep reading the series.
Recommended book series for those who enjoy a read where you never know what will happen next!
Very Fun read. MC is written powerful but not to the point where the story is broken , each time he progresses it feels earned , good cast of characters and a fun setting with a lot of lore in the world building to keep you engaged. I follow the Author on Patreon and he's already working on Book 4 and releasing chapters at a good pace . Has me invested in this story.
An enjoyable next step in this series. I look forward to the next installment of this series. I listened to this through Alexa. The narrator - W. Mitchell made some improvements in the last book, so maybe his reading of this one will go well. Not everyone likes angry yelling.
Mc continues to make questionable decisions & sometimes just enraging to odd. Mean what Fia did was very bad & was seemingly to trap him yet so unnecessary (also don't want whole family kids bore thing ) & he was way too accepting of it. Add to how treat Blue Rose when she asked him question then thinking its her fault when she had a point just pissed me off you don't treat friends like that. (About him advancing suddenly. ) Sorry about being vague but trying not ruin anything for anyone.
Finally was decant read with few mistakes but frustrating at times too lol i left this review short as could gone on way longer.
In this 3rd book, Max matures in strength and snark! I’ve really enjoyed this story. It’s fast paced and full of action and fun. Even though I know he’s going to win at everything he attempts, I can’t stop reading because I’m rooting for him and it’s a great read. I’m ready to jump into book 4.
Throughly enjoyed. Action and story exactly what you need in a book. Not to mention people the MC cares about both causing problems and being solutions.
Great book awesome story I look forward to continuing to read this series all the old and new characters are deep and interesting and the battles are interesting and exciting
Nice next book in the installment. Steady character progression with new characters introduced and complexities added. Not as much going on back in terra and shorter than I thought but I guess this is all build up for the next.
A great story, with interesting and believable characters. The world and lore continues to impress in its depth and breadth. The abilities also continue to keep things interesting and fresh.
God this series is cool. Binge reading the first 2 because this one came out was the highlight of my week and I plan on using my audible credit to order the audible version soon as I can!
5/5 stars A fun read! I felt this one was shorter as there were some plot points and fights left for the next book but this one too was filled with action
The addition of a school/academy setting is my favourite and I'm also glad it got done in one book.
Fantastic series. Easily one of the best progression/cultivation style book series around. Give the books a try if you haven’t already, you won’t regret it. Can’t wait for book 4!
I still really enjoy this series and would rate this one 3.5 if I could. In my opinion, it's handily the weakest in the series, but that doesn't mean it's bad by any means. I would definitely recommend this book to anyone who needs a palet cleanser and is a fan of old action movies.
This series is growing and although a few more niggles persist the overall action and characters keep me coming back for more each time. Be interesting at this stage what else is to happen again.
This series is by no means a great literary work...but it's not meant to be. It absolutely smashes it's goal in being a fun, action packed ride with solid character development, and fantastically choreographed scenes.
I highly recommend reading the first 2 books before jumping head first into this one. This series is extremely well written and entertaining. A bonafied page turner.
The author did another great job of writing this story truly great reading with lots of action and fighting! Max is in space now terror ing all monsters and Yee people bring war to them for invading our world...
This book walks the line between dark and morbid. Has an unusually catchy storyline to support all the good vs evil battles. Certainly looking forward to next installment.
Book three was very exciting, and some really great fight scenes. As well as some emotional growth with the main characters, and other characters in the series.
Great third book the author has not cut any corners and penned a great third book in the series. I can’t wait for number 4. Rick Scott write faster please.
