Three vengeful spirits. One broken woman. One night.
Harlow can't live with herself after the traumatic events of a fateful Halloween night two years ago. Half-broken then, she's shattered now. The only way forward is to go back to the abandoned house where it all happened and pay the ultimate price for her sins.
But the house isn't empty. Three vengeful spirits lie in wait, vowing to destroy the woman who sent them to hell. Given just one night of freedom, they will bleed every second dry, taking all their rage, suffering, and hatred out on her.
The three inflict agony, twisted with pleasure until all secrets spill out of their coffins in the hallowed hours of the darkest night. Blood splatters the walls of the haunted house until cries of depraved pleasure wipe away sins and horrors past.
But what will happen when dawn rises, locking the gates of hell once and for all?
The rules are clear. Pain for pain. Blood for blood. Death for death.
Ghosts of Halloween is a dark, spicy, why-choose romance with sword crossing for mature listeners. A complete list of content warnings can be found on the author's website.

If you enjoy ultra-hot and steamy MMFM, with extremely dark and pure smut book you are in the right place
This was a very disappointing read. There were so many glimmers of an excellent story, but it just got bogged down with the smut. Do not get me wrong, I am all for spice. Why choose is probably my favorite sub genre in dark romance. Add in ghosts and this book should have been a perfect read for me but I could not connect with it.
I think my main issue is that there seemed to be two distinct couples, Harlow and Jack/ Silas and Caden. Each couple had chemistry with their original chosen partner but not with the others. It felt very forced to make all four end up together. The dynamics just didn't work for me and honestly felt awkward. Silas and Caden didn't add much to the story in general. I loved Harlow and Jack together and if the story would have just been about them, this probably would have been a much higher rating.
Back to the smut, it was constant. I was begging for just a crumb more of plot but instead, I'd get an awkward, forced group sex scene.
Though I rated this book two stars, I don't think that will be the case for everyone. Some people will love it but for me personally, there are why choose romances out there with excellent plot and character pairings that don't feel forced.
so I’m just going to give A BIG ol shoutout to THE BEAUTY AND THE BLOG, who wrote a perfect review to this book. I can‘t do reposts so I‘ll just copy paste, if thats alright.

And I stand by that. I REALLLYYYYYY wanted to love this book…
If you don’t want to pay the price, don’t do the crime. The 3 MMC’s get killed become ghosts and blame the FMC for their death. But hold on, they robbed the Russian and not her fault no one told her that her brother brought her prosthetic arm from money they stole. All she did was tell someone how great her brother was for buying it. She wasn’t to know that person would tell the Russian and he would put it together that the MMC’s and her brother stole his money and have them killed.
Typical narcissistic males don’t see anything they did wrong so for two years they wait to get their revenge and so begins pages of not smut but abuse, rape, degradation , verbal and emotional abuse and physical abuse by the 3MMC’s towards the FMC. Demeaning and disparaging page after page.
FMC portrayed as so desperate due to her past that being treated like just holes to be filled is what she deserves.
The so called story is lost in all the excessive abuse. It’s not smut, it’s just abusive low rate porn on a page.
The more degrading, the more abusive, the more pain inflicting , the more triggers are added supposedly makes a good book these days. I like a smutty book but I like to read a book that has a story line instead of 90% over the top sex and abuse and nothing else.
Just my opinion so please no judgement 😃

Probably the darkest and kinkiest book I've read in a long time. Has every trigger you can think of. I'm questioning my moral compass right now but I enjoyed the ride.

Should I read in order? Yes, this series is best in order, so start either here or with the prequel novella.
Basic plot: Jack, Caden and Silas can finally get their revenge on Harlow on Halloween night
Give this a try if you want: - contemporary – this is book 1 of the series and ends on a cliffhanger with no HEA/HFN - brother’s best friend - disability rep – heroine has a prosthetic arm - strong unrequited longing from one of the heroes, Jack - pierced heroes - masked heroes - M/M and M/F scenes - kinks include bondage, blindfolding, rough sex, - higher steam – 3 full scenes but they are lengthy and developed and take up most of the story
Ages: - Harlow is about 22, Jack is 28, Caden is 41, didn't catch Silas
First line: I fake moan, bouncing on Ryan’s dick in the back of his car.
My thoughts: I was a bit conflicted about this one but just because I was so confused haha! It’s definitely mysterious and it’s not fully explored until the end of the series. But I adored most of this book – the sexual tension was fantastic and I loved getting POVs from all 4 main characters.
This one left me super curious about what has going to happen and has happened in the past. I loved the developed scenes and am a fool for revenge type plotlines so this fit that perfectly.
Locations of kisses/intimate scenes, safe sex aspects, consent, pregnancy/child in the story: Safe sex: No…? There’s kind of a twist to it Hows the consent? Definitely dubious and non-consensual sex acts Pregnancy/children in story? (Please note this is the best to my memory/note taking. If you see something I missed please feel free to message!) No children in the story but the heroine is very adamant about using birth control to not have kids Chapter 8 – 🔥 Caden gives Silas a bj Chapter 9 – 🔥 blindfolded fingering/oral for Harlow Chapter 14 – 🔥 missionary with Jack and Harlow, while Silas fucks Caden

”I’ll tell you what. If you get caught, you’ll be fucked. Don’t want that? Don’t run.”
Should I read in order? Yes, this series should be read in order – start with Jacked: The Prequel, or get the Ghosts of Halloween which is all the books together.
Basic plot: Jack, Caden, and Silas exact their punishment on Harlow.
Give this a try if you want: - contemporary with paranormal elements – note that this is book 2 of the series and ends on a cliffhanger with no HEA/HFN - brother’s best friend - disability rep – heroine has a prosthetic arm - unrequited love from one of the heroes - pierced heroes - Halloween - kink includes rough sex, degradation, praise, spanking, knife play - higher steam – 5-6ish full scenes – most of the novel is sex - M/F and M/F/M scenes
Ages: - Harlow is about 22, Jack is 28, Caden is 41 and didn’t catch Silas
First line: He moves closer, gliding through the air like he weighs nothing, and I let out a terrified squeak.
My thoughts: “You’re not supposed to make me feel better.” “That’s not for you to decide, little brat. Now behave, or I’ll make you come.”
Well I liked parts of this one because we find out more about their background and what exactly is happening here...but I was left a bit frustrated because I thought their reasoning on their hatred for Harlow was a bit weak. The fact that they were punishing her was definitely a reach after finding out what she did to deserve it.
I liked some aspects of this book quite a bit, but I also think it just went a bit far for me. It’s a little too dark I guess? Maybe a bit too much pain and punishment for me to really love it. But that’s just me being a baby haha.

Should I read in order? Yes, this story picks up immediately after book 2 ends, so definitely read in order.
Basic plot: Caden, Silas, Jack and Harlow’s last night together comes to a close
Give this a try if you want: - contemporary romance – this is the culmination of the series and ends with a happy for now for everyone (there is also an extended Christmas epilogue) - brother’s best friend - disability rep (heroine has a prosthetic arm - pierced heroes - M/M, M/F, and MMMF scenes - praise - higher steam – 6ish full scenes
Ages: - Harlow is about 22, Jack is 28, Caden is 41 and I didn’t catch Silas
First line: I struggled against Silas, grunting from effort, but he lies on top of me, pinning me to the ground with his full body weight.
My thoughts: Overall I liked this one – I liked getting to know a bit more about the characters background and the history of what drove all these actions.
The sex was a bit hotter to me because they were all opening up to each other (heh heh) and it just felt more emotional to me. But it also got pretty dark towards the end, and I’m never really that eager to read graphic murder scenes.
The whole ending was a bit weird to me! I’m not sure how I feel about it….but overall I still liked the ending result of this story.
Few random reading stats for this author # of books read: 4 Average rating: 4.5 stars Favorite book: Jacked
Content warnings: These should be taken as a minimum of what to expect. It’s very possible I have missed some. - panic attacks on page - remembered rape - murder on page
Locations of kisses/intimate scenes, safe sex aspects, consent, pregnancy/child in the story: Safe sex: Yes??? Hows the consent? This whole series is noncon/dubcon with revenge plotline so if you need consent in your books I would maybe bypass this one – it’s darker. But at this point (book 3 in the series) it’s consensual between them) Pregnancy/children in story? (Please note this is the best to my memory/note taking. If you see something I missed please feel free to message!) No children or pregnancy. They use protection when needed (the heroine doesn’t want unprotected sex) Chapter 40 (this is in the box set) – 🔥 Silas fucks Caden Chapter 42 – scene with Jack and Harlow (memory) Chapter 43 – 🔥 wall sex between Jack and Harlow Chapter 45 - 🔥 Harlow gives Caden a BJ while Silas fucks Caden and Jack fucks Harlow Chapter 50 - 🔥 Jack goes down on Harlow in front of their victims Chapter 55 – 🔥 Jack fucks Harlow while she’s sleeping and Silas praises him Chapter 56 – 🔥 foursome sex

Extra stuff like what my review breakdown means, where to find me, and book clubs
Full break down on what my ratings above mean here: Overall: How I felt about it everything considered! Readability: How ‘readable’ was the book? Did I fly through it? Did I have to tell myself to pick it back up repeatedly? Were any passages confusing? (I will probably score like (1) is literally unreadable due to formatting/typing errors, etc (2) There were lots of errors that made it difficult to read OR It was extremely confusing and I had to reread passages to make sense of it OR I disliked it so much I had to bribe myself to keep reading (3) I didn’t really want to keep reading and would have preferred to abandon the read and start something else OR some minor continuity issues/confusion (4) I liked it fine, maybe a minor error or 2. I was happy to pick it up when I had time. (5) I never wanted to put this down. I thought about it when I wasn’t reading it. I hid in the bathroom from my kids to read. I threw inappropriate food at my children for dinner so I could read instead.) Feels: Totally subjective to each person but did the book give me any tingles? Any butterflies? Did it rip my heart out (in a good way?) Emotional depth: How well do I feel I know the characters at the end? How much did I feel their emotions throughout the story? Sexual tension: Again, subjective, but how strong was the wanting and longing to me between the characters? A book might have strong sexual tension without a single touch. Romance: Was there romance? Did romantic things happen? This can be actions/words/thoughts of the characters and again is subjective. Sensuality: This is how the intimate scenes are written. Kisses and sexual scenes – how sensual were they? Were they on the mechanical side? Was there emotional pull tied in? Were the details explicit or flowery? These are subjective but generally (1) too short to get a good judgement (2) not all what I'm looking for - very vague or flowery prose (3) either not explicit enough or not enough emotional pull (too mechanical/physically descriptive without the emotions) (4) what I love in a scene (5) absolute perfection - perfect balance of emotional longing and explicit descriptions Sex Scene Length: How long the bedroom scenes are (generally (1) is 1-3 sentences (2) is a few paragraphs to a page-ish (3) is about average, a few pages (4) more well developed scenes, quite a few pages with descriptions (4) the majority of the book takes place in the bedroom. This is always hard to tell for me on audio! Steam Scale: Generally, each flame is a scene. If scenes are super close together I sometimes combine them. If a scene is super short or so vague I don’t know what’s happening, I don’t count it. There’s some levels of grey but generally the number of flames is how many sex scenes there are (I max out at 5 so I’ll put a + after if there’s more than that)
DNF at 20%… If you want nothing but a literal porn fest go ahead but there is zero plot and the characters have no substance. I like books with plot so maybe it’s just me but this was a no.
I DNFd tf out of this… after trying for 10+ days, trying to skim…. I just couldn’t anymore. 40% in and found no plot, story seriously lacking. All smutt. Can’t even put it on a spice scale cause it didn’t make me feel anything but cringe and not because it’s dark or the descriptions… like the more triggers the better. But this just felt so underwhelming, flat, lacking depth.. rly no feeling.. didn’t connect with any of the characters.. rushed… idk I had to let it go.
I had to DNF. I have never been so utterly confused by a fic and I've read a few.
The FMC has a brother who is killed and it alludes to the fact that the guy who was crushing on her was involved. She's also known as the town slut. She's going to the house where her brother died so she can commit suicide and there are 3 male "ghosts"? Two of the ghosts start sucking D's immediately - but then it talks about all these things that have apparently happened like we're supposed to know about them and I was like what? Did I miss an entire book somewhere??? Some times it seems like she's talked/interacted with the ghosts before, then again she's say something about being scared and not knowing what's happening or who is there.
He listens to me. I tell him things I never dared to say to anyone, and he listens. Really??? When did you talk to him?? How did you know there's a "him" and he's a ghost?
I shiver, though. It’s not the first time he’s said something comforting or pleasant and followed it up with a menacing twist. These ghosts apparently talk and she can see/feel them. How are they ghosts again? That's right - we don't know.
“Tell me, my sweet little angel. Who raped you?” How the fuck did we get here??? Talk about a fic veering left!!!!
Anyway - the FMC has a prosthetic arm which I thought was interesting.
I kind of want to go back and try again, but my brain hurt from trying to figure out WTF was going on.
Part 1 Took a while to really comprehend the backstory and it doesn't make the FMC very likeable. Ending of Part 1 was a twist I should have expected, but didn't.
Part 2 First half was really good. Super spicy. Second half is where it all started going down hill.
Part 3 I can't believe there's a Part 3. And I can't believe that I'm only halfway through this book.
Ghosts of Halloween lures you in with the 'masked lover' trope of 2023. The first 37% of the book is not that bad. I dnf'd because the story was DRAGGING and I was sitting at 50%. I think the book could have ended nicely around this point and tied up with a little bow. I just didn't care about the characters or the story enough to suffer through another 200 pages.
Absolutely loved this series! It had my heart racing throughout it and my goodness the spice! Harlow, Silas, Jack , and Caden will forever be one of my favorite Why choose couples!!!!
This book was not good. We had some plot scattered in, but it was a bucket load of smut. The plot didn't make sense half the time, and it was laughable.
It's one of those books that I just had to read to see what the hype was.
The writing wasn't great, and the character development wasn't quite there. Harlow, the FMC, had some back story, but the MMC's didn't.
In a way, I'm glad I read it, I can now stop wondering about this book 😂
Wow! I went into this blind knowing it was a dark romance and very detailed and I chose not to read what it was about. The hype from other readers, the cover and the title drew me in.
Now….this book is FILLED with potential triggers, so ensure you find those out first and realize this book is basically, very detailed smut mixed with a story.
Anyway, I enjoyed this book. Clearly wasn’t what I had been expecting. From the storyline, to the relationships. It was filled with F/M, M/M, F/M/M and F/M/M/M in very descriptive detail.
The plot was twisted, dirty and dark, disturbing to some readers I am sure.
The supernatural element was a different way to read this style of book, a first for me.
The ending was uplifting and unique.
Note: there is a Christmas story following the epilogue which closes the story out well.
I will say it is well written, very descriptive and detailed. I have to mention I absolutely loved (and chuckled) at the dedication.
If this is a style of book you enjoy reading, dark, dirty, smutty and filled with triggers…. Pick this book up. If not, then this definitely won’t be for you
This is a great book for revenge, and a lot of self reflection because looking for acceptance and love through physical means, yeah that is rough and what it led to, ouch! I would’ve enjoyed less smut- 80% of book is smut and hey love but I actually want the story too. The story was intense but the over smut took away from it. The ghosts using it as revenge was awesome, but mention and then move onto story! Would’ve loved to see what happened after they left, what happened to the 3…… but still great!
Harlow goes to the house her brother and friends were murdered 2 years prior, the night she was raped.
Noah, Harlow’s brother, was shot and his dying wish is for his best friends, Jack, Cayden and Silas protect his little sister. They give their oath and then moments later they were also killed. They “wake up” as ghosts. They just know. They also know that it was Harlow’s fault they were killed, indirectly.
Just like they know they are ghosts and bound to the house? They know that the only way to pass on is to fulfill their oath and save Harlow. She comes to the house on Halloween intending to kill herself. Instead she is confronted with 3 masked men who make her feel things she hasn’t felt in 2 years.
Jack is 6 years older than Harlow and has been in love with her since she was 16, she is now 22. Cayden and Silas are a couple. Cayden is twice her age. I don’t think it ever says how old Silas is.
The guys have become corporeal for the night because this is the night Harlow is destined to die. They have their way with her first, intending to kill her at the end of the night to try to move on. Silas is gay and only wants to make Harlow suffer. Cayden is bi and hasn’t been with a woman since dying. Jack is straight. By the time the end of the story, they all fuck each other.
Towards the end of the night her rapists come to the house because someone saw her go in. The guys end up killing these 3 men, claiming their souls and returning to the living.
I didn’t read the Christmas story after the epilogue as it was another 2 hours more. I was already done and over the book but wanted to finish just to see how the author tied the story up.

So much pain, lust, raw emotions, morally grey masked men and so much spice, what more could a dark romance reader ask for! Her words were incredibly written that you feel every single emotion! Every single page had me in utter shock, I knew the tropes and it was recommended to me for a Halloween read, still all caught me by surprise. I love the omnibus cover and art work, it really brought the story and characters to life. I could envision the characters a lot better and see how Layla wanted them to be portrayed. I did not read the trigger warnings so also played a part in my crying and connecting with the characters next level due to experiences I’ve endured. I still read every page and I’m so obsessed with this book, it hit the Halloween vibe spot on. Chapter fifty-two, ugh cue the sobbing you think Silas is so cruel, but deep down he really did have a soul. Beyond thankful that this was recommended to me! If you love really dark paranormal romance then this book is for you!
Honestly alittle disappointed with this one... I feel like it was waaaay longer than it needed to be. The spice was good, but there was just so much of it that it became underwhelming, kind of like being desensitised ! I wish the storyline was just more prior to the build-up of spicy scenes, which just came one after the other, and at about 400 pages in, I just wanted it done. If you want something very spicy with little story, this is for you. I just think at this stage I wanted more depth into the characters.
⟢ 𝑮𝒉𝒐𝒔𝒕𝒔 𝒐𝒇 𝑯𝒂𝒍𝒍𝒐𝒘𝒆𝒆𝒏 - 𝐤𝐬𝐢𝐚̨𝐳̇𝐤𝐚 𝐳𝐝𝐞𝐜𝐲𝐝𝐨𝐰𝐚𝐧𝐢𝐞 𝐧𝐢𝐞 𝐝𝐥𝐚 𝐦𝐧𝐢𝐞.
