White Heat

Rate this book
A major player in the narcotics business doesn’t learn that the woman who stole his heart is an undercover DEA agent…until it’s too late.

The divorce decree delivered to Limbo’s Pennsylvania prison cell was the consequence of a single bad choosing the streets instead of his family. Limbo’s downward spiral gained momentum after a group of miscreant federal agents ruined his livelihood. But that only fueled his ambition to win.

Now Limbo has one thing in getting back to the streets with his notorious entourage, the Crips, to rebuild his empire and replenish his family’s wealth, even if it means murder. The unprincipled agents have other plans, though. They have laid a compelling trap that’s certain to put Limbo behind bars forever—Rhapsody, a gorgeous white woman. Things spin out of control, though, when a purely sexual encounter turns into an intimate love affair. White Heat examines a convicted felon’s narcotics business, sexual exploits, violent encounters, and dealings with state and federal officials who act above the law.

Subterfuge

At the impressionable age of 14, Lamont "Limbo" Adams had already calculated that he was a kingpin in the making. He grew up poor, hungry and frustrated and decided to cash in early on being the best that he could be.

"The streets or us," the ultimatum delivered to him from his mother and then his wife. After making no decision, the wrong decision is bestowed upon him causing Limbo to be jammed up. As a result Limbo loses his family and in case that's not enough, the house he's identified as home goes up in smoke taking his net worth with it.

Francine Rhapsody Parrish is a college student majoring in psychology. She has been vying for her chance to get into Limbo's corner. It's not until he's jailed that the opportunity arises again and she freely gives him a `piece of her love.' Rhapsody quickly earns her badge as Limbo's friend, a rider, and eventually wins as he crowns her his queen soldier.

Jayme Johanson is an FBI agent with bitterness towards Lamont "Limbo" Adams. She took an oath to uphold this country, which includes obliterating him and compensating her and her colleagues for all of his years of crime. While trying to build a successful case to incarcerate Limbo, Jayme finds herself green with his live in girlfriend Rhapsody, who has everything she's ever wanted in a man.

With an unexpected vendetta brewing, Limbo becomes a victim to reconstruction. In a hail of gun smoke it becomes a situation of win, lose or draw.

WHITE HEAT written by Oasis is a quick read. The story is on an automatic flow, with plenty of interesting characters and a captivating story line. My main issue is that the book stops, in the mist of the climax. While readers can easily piece together how the story ends, sometimes you want to know that you've walked through the end. In this case, there are just too many scenarios left open. While I am not a fan of sequels, Oasis’ pen may just be what it takes.

Limbo is doing what has to be done to take care of his family since his release from prison in White Heat by Oasis and Mrs. Oasis. Limbo goes back to what he knows and that is the drug game. Limbo did not foresee his wife, Haydens’ ultimatum, to not go back to prison or she and the children would leave him. Limbo does not keep his end of the bargain and is not surprised when he receives the unwanted divorce papers in the pen.

While serving time, Limbo is introduced to a beautiful white woman by the name of Rhapsody. After meeting Rhapsody, Limbos’ time in prison does not seem too bad. Rhapsody will do anything for Limbo and her loyalty makes him open up. Rhapsody starts to fall in love with Limbo and her initial mission takes a sudden turn. It is said to not judge a book by its cover but in some situations this should be done. The all faithful Rhapsody has secrets and if revealed they will have a huge impact on Limbo and those closest to him.

White Heat is about keeping your eyes open while being careful about whom you bring into your circle. This book started off slow but once the twists and turns came into the play, I was anticipating the characters next moves. I was able to relate to the characters and I enjoyed the authors’ inclusion of the undercover sting because it gave life to the storyline. I recommend White Heat to others.

Wow, what can I say?? This book totally shocked me. It started off a lil slow for me as this was not my usual type of read..but when the heat was on...it was on!

Limbo a smooth brother was all wrapped up in the drug game. Getting money was his only focus as he tried to accumulate a fortune to smear out his poor upbringing from his mind. But the saying is so true..where there is smoke, there is fire. This heat came in the form of Jayme or as her undercover name, Rhapsody. She was a well brought up white girl with her way on up the Feds'ladder..all she had to do was bring down Limbo and his whole operation. But when lines get blurred and sides get changed...Will Jayme bring the heat..or will Rhapsody fan the flames? Throw in a hectic drug war, crooked Feds, and a very unstable female and you just concocted the most flammable substance ..EVER!

The plot was fast paced and well written..the characters were developed, from minor to major; and the chemistry between the two leads just brought down the house. Take my word for it..this one is H.O.T: careful while handling! I hope there is a part two..I sure hope so.

Kudos to Mr. and Mrs. Oasis..you just gained a fan

Mr. and Mrs. Oasis weaved a perfect tale together!!!!!!

Limbo a street hustler is on his grind to the top. As they say though more money more problems. After getting caught up with the law he finds out who really has his back. Every person that you met might not have you best interest at heart at least that's what it seems. When this tale unfolds you will really find out the meaning to white heat!!

This book was off the chain. I'm Telling you from page one you drawn right in.The characters were definitely up of their game. My emotions were on a ride one minute I was happy, then mad, then angry. The way the book ended it's open for a part two but either way i'm happy with it. Check out this book.

Wow, The Oasis family what a read. Limbo what can I say a street hustler with everything but still fall to the way side. A family man and wise beyond grace...but by grace we all shall fall. Good friends with good intentions but great family with wants for Limbo but nothing but the best. With his mind on the streets and thinking there is no where else to go but up lord knows Francine/jazyme/Rhapsody had definite different plans for him. Did it all work out for them in the end....you have to read to find out cause I am sure happy I am done. LOL 5 stars!

Lamont "Limbo" Adams made a decision at age 14 to start hustling after watching his Mom struggle and his baby sister go hungry. He traded his family for the streets and ended up in prison, where he met Rhapsody, an FBI agent who goes undercover to take him down. Ignoring the warnings, Limbo finds out too little, too late that he is in over his head.

I enjoyed this page turner, and can't wait to see if the Oasis family will grace us with a sequel.
