Sent to explore the dungeon known as Zagan, Aladdin and his friends have arrived on Tran Island. The mysterious Tran people are reluctant to help Aladdin defeat the dungeon, and it's no wonder why--the ancient labyrinth seems to have a mind of its own! Overcoming Zagan will bring Aladdin face-to-face with old adversaries and some powerful and dangerous new foes.
Shinobu Ohtaka (大高 忍, born May 9, 1983 Tokyo, Japan) is a Japanese manga artist. She is best known for the creation of the manga series Sumomomo Momomo and more recently, Magi: The Labyrinth of Magic.
Little disappointed by this dungeon. I forgot how annoying Zagan is. But Hakuryu is a cutie and Morgiane scared me at the end. But overall, new informations about the magic system and the djinns which is always cool. Btw, jealous grandpa Amon made my day.
World: The art is great. The creativity of the dungeon is nice. I love those creature designs. The world building is solo, the weird dungeon is a nice touch. The character moments that build the world is good.
Story: A fun dungeon. Weird creatures and a ton F laughs. The focus of the prince and his need to go it alone is a retread of Alibaba's story and it's done well as it further both of those characters. Mor and her moments were amazing. The end was expected and now we get to the battle portion.
Characters: Mor has the most amazing moment here. She's awesome. The Prince and his journey is good. Using Alibaba as a force for that is good character work. The three mages we see are meh. Just villains.
I made it to volume 10 out of 37 volumes. Magi has quickly made it into my top 5 Shonen favourites. The series is underrated out of many shonen, makes me sad. I love the magic element set in a Arabia nights setting, the magical aspect is truly fascinating. I am truly enjoying this series right now after seeing anime 2 years back. I needed more as anime only covers 1/4 manga. This volume was a standout in particular for Moriganna. Made me squeal for her I won’t spoil why but ah this series is so fun and humorous.
Taking off to Tran Island with a Kou Prince at their side, Aladdin and his friends gain permission from the people and enter a deadly Dungeon to face off against their biggest challenges yet! Ohtaka is sure to keep fans entertained the whole way through this suspenseful entry. Will there truly be such horrible perils inside the Dungeon as the people fear?
The series continues to be great, Building up nicely from chapter to chapter until the final few pages where a big battle is on the horizon. The Djinns are unique and intresting, although I'm not a fan of Zagan as of yet. Plus Morgiana, she is awesome!

The Magi series is rated Teen so it is advisable you check out this book yourself before allowing a younger person from reading it. After all there are some real disturbing monsters in this book and some provocative angles of some girls (like when the dungeon djinn Zagan considers eating one of them and tries to figure out what the tastiest part will be.)
Aladdin and his group travel to Tran Island to get permission to tackle the dungeon they were sent to handle and meet some familiar faces before being able to convince the locals to let them try the dungeon. However as the elder says this dungeon is dangerous and devours those that go near it including several people from the island and when they are taken inside everyone finds themselves in a strangely cute world with talking turtles and other strange monsters. We also get to meet the new djinn named Zagan and the return of Amon who recently moved to Ali Baba's new vessel in the last volume.
After some challenges the group learns the truth behind what is happening in the dungeon and gain A new motivation to conquer the dungeon as each person pushes themselves to new levels. If that is not enough to pique your curiosity then it turns out our heroes are not alone as faces from earlier in the book make their appearance to stand in their way. The action is going to be amping up even more in the next volume if the enemies' arrival is any sign of things to come. :)
Getting to see Amon sulk because Ali Baba went to a dungeon for another Djinn was probably one of my favorite parts considering it shows a new side of Amon trying to explain to Ali Baba that he does not need any new Djinns. :)
This is the 10th book in the Magi: The Labyrinth of Magic series by Ohtaka. This book was more exciting than the 9th volume in the series but not quite as action packed as the 8th.
In this book Aladdin, Alibaba, and their friends venture into a new Dungeon on Tran Island. The Dungeon is like no other they have ever encountered before and seems to contain a whole world inside. The dungeon is run by the slightly crazy Zagan. Will Aladdin and his friends be able to circumnavigate all of Zagan’s crazy traps and defeat the dungeon?
This book is mainly our characters trying to defeat a dungeon. This was one of the strangest books in this series so far. The Zagan Dungeon is full of creepily cute animals/people that end up being strangely vicious.
There is a lot of action and we finally get to see Morgiana use her Vessel to help in the fight. The Kou Prince also shows off some of his Ki fighting techniques.
Overall this is a good installment in the series, I enjoyed it. There’s a lot of action and a couple fun new characters. I am curious to see where the story goes from this point on.
It was kind of weird at times, but being Magi I didn't mind. However there were some weird scenes which made no sense and didn't contribute to the plot. Like when Amon summoned himself in the dungeon Zagan and the little pipsqueak thing that was born from fake zagans remains or something. The little animals going " hi ho" on their way to work was cute though.
Still, even tho there were some occurrences that contradicted rules mentioned before in the series, I still really enjoyed it. I loved morgiana as always, kicking butt like erza. Alibaba and Aladdin were great.
I could see why the anime, however, took out and changed some sequences and even hakuryus character a little. In the book I feel how he confronts morgiana (and in the extras his sister hakuei) is sexist. At times he's telling her she can't or shouldn't be doing certain things because she's a girl and I'm here just all" how is that relevant to the situation at hand?" Screw the whole "lady" persona!
This Manga starts our humorous. I really enjoyed the characters at the beginning. The farther you read the deeper the plots become. Enjoyable at the beginning, and a must read for the later books. I can NOT wait for books 27 + Characters are real and raw. Everyone has there faults and I feel the author/artist dose a wonderful job of bringing everyones points of view, twisted though they might be, in to clear focus.
(note: I wouldn't recommend this manga for young teens. I fine the sexual innuendos pretty funny as an adult, but not really appropriate for younger audiences. Also the plot gets pretty dark at times. )
