It is the end and I really did not like how it ended. Really if my mind did not bug me to finish the book I wouldn't have. It introduces to many characters at the ending volume of the series so no room for character devlopment. Chloe has very few chapters to her relative to the length of the book compared to how many she had in the other 3 books.
It split them up to just have them all come together again at the end. It is a normal thing to do in stories but still they made one of the people who traveled with her kill her mother for a reason that he did not believe in then just did. It did not explain why he did or why he changed his mind to he just did.
I am glad the characters from volume 1 lived but having everyone but 1 character die in what is effectively the final battle of an adventure story is not good when that 1 character means almost nothing. Sure they killed off other characters but they had more meaning in the other volumes and of course more character growth. Who died was always on the path to get character growth but never did.

It is longer than the others but in that some of it feels like filler. It also made use of magic doing the impossible to many times. When they made it seem like "magic " is just advanced technology they should have explained it or had the characters try to destroy it towards the end.

Again the ending is not good in my mind. It is also to long. It did not finish all the battles it started either. It left off in a way that could have a volume 5 but in the afterword the author said there isn't going to be more.

The book also seemed to jump around more so in this volume than in any of the others. To the point it made no sense for it to do so until the end few chapters when everyone was in relatively the same place.

(Edit)
I was told on March 24 that I read the afterward wrong and it is book 4 of 8. Either way after rereading my review I do not think I am going to read book 5.

Enjoyable series - however the main character was missing for part of it

This is an enjoyable series and a good transition book to the second half, but due to certain events the main character chaos was missing for about 1/3 of the book and while I do like this book I think book 5 will be much better and I look forward to the next book

So this books ends on one HELL of a cliff hanger. I will say that one thing that kinda grinds my gears about the MC is the fact that she never tends to really learn from her mistakes. She doesn't have straight meat head tendencies, but there are a LOT of moments where if she used her head BEFORE getting into a fight, things would have ended better for her. With that said, the MC isn't stupid and is quite versatile. She also has the Vin Diesel Fast and the Furious "Family is everything" motto going for her as well. So she's very gun-ho about going toe to toe with anyone including the god's in this world.

The world in this story has been pretty fleshed out to begin with, however, the history has definitely been fleshed out more in this book and there are STILL huge gaps that you're still left wondering about that you KNOW are going to be some epic bombshells.

The character development was pretty flat this time around. Most of the people act the same way with the exclusion of like 3 people. I mean there is growth, but this story is mostly plot progression and there is quite some progression in that aspect.

This has got to be the best story in this series thus far and I'm very curious to see how this all is going to pan out and according to the author this is only the halfway point.....

I can't begin too describe how disappointing this book was after binge listening from book 1 too this 1. It feels like the author constantly just recycles the same idea where for some reason somehow the MC gets teleported away over and over again. Why you might ask? Well here it is in a nutshell: 1. So she has to go on a long journey too reunite with her friends or if not for that reason so her friends have to go on a long journey to find her. It's some of the most lazy writing I have ever seen.
Too be honest the only reason I even listened too some of this book was that I was invested in the story.
But the main character was MIA for like 80% of the freaking book and the rest was just filler stuff.
Oh and let's talk about the cliffhanger at the end where SURPRISE THE MC GOT TELEPORTED AWAY AGAIN!!!!! If the 3 books before this, hadn't been very good I would have dropped this series here and never listened too or read another book by this author.
But seriously can you stop recycling the same thing over and over again? It's getting so freaking old.

my brain is still fried from that ending.
why does the MC keeps getting teleported to places for shits?
but I like the old and new assembly of characters spicing up this mess. Despite the cover, in my head Aurelia looked like Galaxia (Sailormoon) to me. And tbh I'm glad I can keep up with all the names.
and how even the 'gods', who seems to originate from the same world as Chloe was, are joining in on the fun to gang up on the Dominion. bloody yay.
So considering what happened to Pelomyx, are we on the revenge arc next? (her elimination was a little trope-ish, i can't believe that was it.)

4 stars for the Maid Corps though

So here's the thing, This author introduces a lead character named chaos & for the next three books she is the lead character with immense powers but in this fourth book she is depicted as less than a side character whose mention is less than necessary throughout the entire book. After reading This book it feels like I have watched GOT season 8 again with the worst possible ending & now I am questioning whether I should have selected any other book instead of this crap of sh*t.
But I will complete this series no matter what but this book is the worst book in this series till now. I hope the next book is worth reading otherwise I will never read any other books written by this author.

Wow!

This book was enjoyable and intense. So much happens. I'm surprised that it wasn't longer. The story and characters continue to be engaging and intriguing. I look forward to reading more about these characters and their further adventures. Things are certainly heating up. This book is definitely worth reading.

Another great book

As always this is the 4th book in the series and NOT a stand a lone book. If you've been following the series so far, then you probably already reading the book instead of this review.

I could not put this down

I could not put this book down. I highly recommend starting from the first and reading to at least here. It was lost on a cliff hanger, but OMG so good!
