The battle over the alien artifacts rages across the solar system.
On Earth, Los Angeles becomes the battleground for two mega-corporations that will stop at nothing to get their hands on the strange material. Meanwhile, as she races towards Ganymede, astronaut Rachel Ferreira discovers that the biggest threat to the ship and her team is not awaiting ahead out in space, but is right under their own feet. As the satellite images received from Ganymede get stranger and stranger, Rachel and Theodore each find themselves in a race against time. The moon is changing before their eye, but into what, and for what purpose, no one knows.
Joshua T. Calvert has traveled the world--on foot, by Jeep, by bicycle, by motorcycle, and lots of other ways besides. As you might imagine, he's seen many things most people never see - including an Iranian prison cell, from the inside! In Kyrgyzstan, he fared slightly better, narrowly avoiding being kidnapped for ransom. Skydiver, scuba diver, martial artist, adventurer - his goal is to experience everything possible, and then make it real to you in his books. And he's made a good run of it so far: in the Philippines, he did police training on multiple types of firearms (despite being no fan of guns himself); dove in Asian waters among sharks and shipwrecks; and patrolled with Sumatran jungle rangers.
That's what defines Calvert's approach to method writing: pushing himself beyond his own limits, to experience first-hand what his characters experience, to make your immersion in his stories as deep as it can be.
For Ganymede Rises, after a slight detour with some smugglers in the deserts of Uzbekistan and the steppes of Mongolia, he traveled by dogsled and snowshoe to the Arctic Circle to experience first-hand what it's like to be utterly isolated in the coldest place on Earth. For his book The Fossil, he sat with professional pilots in flight simulators for Airbus A320 and Boeing 737 aircraft to learn what it's like to fly a passenger jet. His latest adventure: a parabolic flight with European Space Agency astronauts, to experience zero-gravity. All so he can describe it to you, in his own words.
Ganymede Whispers continues the incredible story around various alien objects brought to earth by the Corporations. Said Corporations are now in control of Governments and they do as they please. The mission to Ganymede is experiencing a lot of trouble and they are not sure its sabotage or something worse. Theodore is now looking at even more battles directly against one if not two of the corporations. The team around him is now aware of his daughter's history and they are totally in with him no matter the consequences. Action abounds and the intrigue is awesome.
The plot thickens as Rachel returns to Ganymede and the killer is unmasked
On Earth, the needs heroes attempt to capture their foe, but he escapes, but it before a great secret is revealed and new plans are made to uncover more details. Meanwhile on the trip to Ganymede, more people are killed and they successfully reach the moon. A ship is sent to the surface where they explore the two obelisks/transmitters and the white ring and an intriguing 'conversation' is had..... More blood curdingly detailed horrific things happen to people, as suspense, intrigue, cover ups and conspiracies come to the fore. Meanwhile the mercenaries gain a new team mate and explanations ensue. A heady mix of science and psychology are interspersed with revelations - though this is only the 2nd book of the trilogy, so there is more to come.
A continuation from the last book, Theodore and Rachel progress with their thrilling adventures. The mystery deepens on Ganymede for Rachel and her slowly decreasing crew members, and Theo’s plans are put into motion with his crew of mercenaries. Both threads of the narrative are exciting, thrilling and entertaining. I’m enjoying these books immensely, looking forward to reading the final instalment, hopefully there will be a good pay off.
I find that I have a wnt to read this book and finely finished it. I just have to good of an imagination and can't take all of the blood and guts but, Joshua is writing skills keep bringing me back.
The plot thickens, and everything seems up in the air. This book gives us a better understanding of the team on earth along with a narrative that says what earth is like now. It also goves us insignt into the players. Hoping book 3 will tie it all together.
