✨Book Review✨
Whew, this one was a vibe!
Aubree Pynn gave us a slow-burn rapper romance full of heart, healing, and espresso-fueled banter—and I ate it up! 😍
We meet Julius “JuJu” Gallalucci, a huge rap star with a quick temper and a career that’s hit a wall. That temper may have helped build his brand, but it also burned bridges—and now he’s without a label, without backing, and in desperate need of a reset. So he and his team pack up and head to Eastover for some much-needed peace and a chance to regroup.
Enter Daysha Jorden—a corporate baddie who made a name for herself in the big city after leaving her small hometown. Everything’s been going great… until it isn’t. One jealous coworker later and she finds herself suddenly unemployed and unsure what’s next. When her family reaches out with a mysterious concierge opportunity in Eastover, she decides to roll with it—and ends up rolling right into JuJu’s orbit.
And let me tell you something—from the moment these two met, I knew it was meant to be. The chemistry was undeniable, and even though Daysha tried to play it cool and keep it professional, JuJu was not about to let her slip away. That man said, “You’re gonna be mine,” and he meant it. 👏🏾
What I loved most about this story was the communication. It was grown, honest, and intentional. No childish games—just two people being real about what they wanted and what they feared. Sometimes life has to fall apart for the right things to fall into place, and that’s exactly what happened here. These two poured into each other spiritually, emotionally, and creatively. It was just beautiful to witness.
A few of my favorite parts:
• Richard and Lucci being STRESSED over Day and her espresso addiction 😂
• Lucci’s granny 🥹🫶🏾 – she reminded me of my own grandmothers. So sweet, so wise.
• Lucci & Richard’s dynamic – hilarious and heartfelt. Pops holding onto that chain? ICONIC.
• The album release party?? 10/10. That whole moment was full circle and well-deserved 👏🏾
Aubree ate with this one. The characters felt real, the romance felt earned, and the ending left me smiling. If you’re into the rapper romance trope, with a soft-yet-bossy leading man and a woman who’s figuring it all out without losing herself in the process, this one’s for you.
