Ruthless. Bloodthirsty. Killer. And now? Her husband.
Ilsevel knows exactly how brutal the fae raiders are. She watched them attack the holy shrine of her god, slaughter the priests, and drag her sister away screaming into the darkness.
When she's forced up onto the auction block to be sold off as a warbride to the highest bidder—and when the chilling warlord, Taarthalor, pushes his way to the front of the crowd and lays down an outrageous bid—Ilsevel fears her nightmare is only just beginning.
Taar took one look at the fiery little human, and something in him sparked. He cannot explain it. He knows only that he will not see her sold off to one of the soulless monsters trying to outbid each other for a chance to use and discard her soft, womanly flesh. If that means binding himself to her by marriage, so be it.
Can this dark king convince his bride not to murder him in his sleep before he can decide what to do with her? Or do the gods have other plans in store for the captive princess and her terrifying new husband?
War Bride is book one of a dual point-of-view (his and hers) forced marriage fantasy trilogy with a dangerous, brooding hero, kiss-or-kill vibes, and swift-to-ignite steam that will leave you begging for more. If you love watching a cold-hearted fae warlord discover his one weakness just might be the spitfire princess who drives him crazy, this is the book for you. Perfect for fans of Elise Kova, Laura Thalassa, and Danielle L. Jensen.
Hi, there. I'm Sylvia: cat-lover, tea-drinker, book-addict, and avid fan of the Kickbutt Heroine Fantasy Genre! If you like reading about tough heroines with extraordinary powers facing their demons and saving their loved ones . . . then we ought to be friends!
This book released this week and I've already bought two copies and preordered book 2. 😅 This is a Fantasy Romance with forced marriage, badass unicorns, and an angry heroine.
Ilsevel is one of those "smol with a temper" heroines. Taar is what we would have gotten if Khal Drogo had an interdimensional fire unicorn and an industrial-grade moral compass. Irony is a major theme of this book and Ilsevel hatches a plot to escape one forced marriage, only to run smack into another one.
A lot of times when a heroine is angry, but powerless, she gets baby girl-ified. (I confess to being guilty of this too. I saw the character art and was like "aww, she wants to 🗡️ him, how cute.") One thing I LOVED in this book is how Ilsevel has been laughed at for her aggression her whole life, but Taar doesn't laugh at her.
He takes her seriously and respects her boundaries and her free will despite the massive power imbalance between them.
I really, really, really REALLY want that next book. 🥲 Please read this so we can eagerly await the sequel together.
I knew Ilsevel would blow me away... But I wasn't prepared. She couldn't be any more a queen than she already is from the beginning - yet I can't wait to watch her bloom, I bet she'll be outstanding.
I was again captured by this magical world.
Please don't get me wrong - it's violent, if you don't like that you won't be happy with this book - there are big feelings in every direction but especially loss and grief are heavy topics.
"Rage if you must. Weep if you must. Break if you must. But do so in my arms. Let me hold you as you fall to pieces. You are safe to break with me."
Could it get any hotter? I doubt it.
And Elydark is so special. How this soul bond works is so beautiful.
Thank you so much for trusting me with an eARC, Sylvia. I love your book so much 🖤
Hmm this book felt more like a fanfiction than published work but it wasn’t necessarily bad. The FMC was selfish and annoying at times and the MMC was too big of a martyr for my taste, but the magic was unique and the writing was good enough. It was short and the plot was nonexistent so don’t pick this up unless you are okay with reading a book that takes place over like two days lol. What else can I say other than it was good enough and kept my attention which is more than I can say for the last 5 books I’ve DNFed before 25%.
Reckless, selfish, ungrateful, distrusting, bitter, angry, rude, and beyond all else just such a freaking immature child. Perhaps she will grow up in future books. I mean who tries to refuse to save someone's life who saved you first just because you don't like singing? Music is a gift, not a freaking curse to CONSTANTLY whine about. Yes, she gets a pass on some of the negative emotions due to the whole being captured and sold thing. But how about the tiniest freaking scrap of gratefulness for the kindest captor in the history of all time instead of blaming him constantly for everything just cause anger makes you feel stronger? So freaking stupid and unsympathetic. Plot and male protagonist were good though. Loved music being power. Loved the soul bound unicorns. Just constantly wanted the Princess to shut up and grow up.
Came across this book from TikTok and this is a strict no for me. Glossed through the last 30%. Stop it with the ‘skewer me’, ‘fae trickery’ ‘heart-bond soul-bond’😂
Overall writing was fine but what got on my nerves were the difficult names AND no definition/backstory to them. There are mentions of 9 levels of hell. What’s that about?? Too many names for faes/monsters/poison/language.
The way the characters were described they seem more alien than fae. Maybe even avatar like😂😂
Cliffhanger was too predictable. Too many draggy chapters. Safe to say I won’t be reading the sequel🤷🏻♀️
So you liked the Daenerys x Khal Drogo dynamic but don't want all the r@pey stuff that comes with it? Then WarBride is definitely the book for you! The story follows Ilsevel, a human who is taken captive by the fae and sold on the auction block as a warbride. Taar is the warlord who puts down an outrageous sum of money to purchase her. But what Ilsevel thinks is the start of a nightmare might be so much more, because in Taar she finds a more honorable man than she expected whose only desire is to see her safely returned to her people. But what if fate has other plans?
I adored the world the author has created, rich with magic and species. Ilsevel and Taar are great representatives of this variety. As a human, Ilsevel is a more gentle and sheltered while Taar is all strength, experience, rough edges and magic. I enjoyed both of these characters individually, but I loved their scenes together. As I mentioned, they reminded me of that clashing of two different worlds that I adored in Khal Drogo and Daenerys in Game of Thrones, but in a scenario where consent exists. This is only the first book in the series, so there's a lot more to explore in this dynamic, but what we get in this book makes me very eager for more!
The only thing I needed to get used to while reading was the writing style. The author's prose is beautiful, but the terminology is reminiscent of classic high fantasy novels, which made it a little difficult to digest at times. However, it fits perfectly with the subject matter, so it's merely a matter of personal taste.
Thank you to the author for gifting me a copy for review. Opinions are my own.
A fun and fast pace adventure ! I loved this book .
It was so easy to devour. I can not wait to read the second book. The irony of running away from one forced arrange marriage smack into another that neither of our main characters were expecting had me super captivated. Not to mention a fierce warrior MMC that is rough around the edges who rides on a badass unicorn. The take on this unicorn being a fear inspiring war beast was insane. Now I want a unicorn ! Our FMC is feisty as a wild-cat who goes through hell in a couple days time span.
The world building was great and can’t wait to see where the author takes us in the next book. She left so much room to expand upon, in a good way. I love that there were so many different magical creatures and species introduced.
The bedroom scene was 🔥🔥🔥🔥 .
Can I have book 2 now !
Tropes ⭐️ Enemies-lovers ⭐️Slow Burn ⭐️ Arranged marriage ⭐️ Forced proximity ⭐️Magical Creatures ⭐️ “MINE” ⭐️ Deadly battles over who gets FMC ⭐️Captive Bride ⭐️Magic ⭐️Spicy bedroom scene ⭐️Teach me ⭐️ Hidden Identity ⭐️ Royalty ⭐️ Fae + Humans + more
I stayed up reading WARBRIDE last night and it delivered exactly what I needed for a spicy Romantasy with the captive/captor trope 🙌🏻
Ilsevel is a human princess, and Taar is an enemy warlord King. On the night she attempted to run away from an arranged marriage her father set up for her, she gets captured and ends up at a slave auction 😱 she goes from the frying pan straight into the fire 😂 Taar might have been responsible for her capture but he does not want to see her at the hands of Lurodos. So he ends up buying her at the auction without knowing exactly what it entails. so he’s not that bad, right? You’ll have to read to find out 😈
I binged this book! The focus of the story is on the romance but the world-building is also intriguing with various types of different creatures (magical unicorns 😱) and I loved the sisterly bond. The romance is spicy but at the same time swoon-worthy as Taar tries to prove to her he’s not a monster. 🖤 normally forced marriage trope has dubious consent but it’s not the case in this book, as Taar really emphasises putting her wants first and letting her take complete control of what happens. Definitely one of my favorite reads of the month!😍
Read if you love: 🔥forced proximity 🔥captive/captor 🔥forced marriage 🔥enemies to lovers 🔥he teaches her 👀 🔥morally grey villainous MMC 🔥secret royal identity 🔥you’re mine
Thanks to the author for gifting me a copy for review!
After seeing the author posting some incredible sneak peeks of Warbride on her socials, I was so excited to dive into this book, and was not disappointed! This is the perfect fantasy read for those who love captive/captor romance dynamics and grumpy men with soft hearts of gold!
The author created an incredible world for this series. Besides humans, we have a variety of different types of fae, and a type of unicorn that creates soulbonds with its riders, which I loved! But what I loved most of all was the romance. Taar, despite seeming like a hard and grumpy character is actually a man with a noble heart. And in no scene does this shine more than in the first night with Ilsevel, where her comfort and—most importantly—her consent were his topmost priority. By contrast, Ilsevel is a feisty woman who doesn't let the sheltered life she's known and her lack of physical prowess stop her from trying to stand up for herself. I loved her temperament, and her dedication to her sister. This relationship reserves some heartbreaking moments so prepare the tissues!
I am so excited to see where else this story goes. This first book is a setup for the rest of the series, but it teases some fantastic upcoming plotlines and, most importantly, a hot and swoon-worthy romance that I cannot wait to be consumed by!
Thank you to the author for gifting me a copy. Opinions are my own.
I feel like this had a ton of promise and then it fell flat. This enemies to lovers really just kept dragging, to the point that I don't care to pick up book 2.
I truly don’t understand why this book has such a high rating. The FMC was immature and annoying. The MMC acted liked a martyr. Everything was way too convoluted. Awful. And the writing was terrible.
Disappointed. It was a quick read and not badly written, but nothing happened, there was no real plot and none of the characters were all that interesting. Also there was ONE spicy scene, over with quickly. so not sure why I’ve seen reviews claiming this as 2 pepper spice….
Honestly, this book was just dragging and quite boring up until about the 80 to 83% in… The only characters that I found to be interesting are the villains. As the two main characters bored me to near death. A seemingly human female princess with the gift of singing… and half breed warrior fae that rides a fire breathing unicorn..
Ilsevel is a princess whose home was torn down and then separated from her sister. her goal throughout the story is to try to find her sister and find out what happened to her because Ilsevel was put into a bride auction, but bought from a somewhat nice person and she fears that her sister didn’t get the same treatment.
With this war bride auction, Ilsevel is pushed into a ceremony which literally binds herself to the groom. Taar. He’s holding secrets.. I can’t quite tell if he’s still in love with his ex?! The ex is the villain. She’s the most interesting thing about the book. She is supposed to be dead. Taar killed her three years ago. Or so he thought. And her goals are to literally obliterate and become king and queen of their kingdom with Taar… Would I continue the series? I mean, I definitely won’t run to get it. I’m not eager to pre-order the second book. This was not my favorite romantasy.. it was OK and maybe down the line all continue the series. I enjoyed discovering a new to me author !

Ilsevel puts her trust in the wrong person and finds herself on the auction block to be sold as a war bride. Taar cannot stand aside while monsters bid for her, so he places a bid of his own, intending to help her escape. Binding himself to marriage is not what he expected as part of the deal and now he must gain her trust if he is to find a way to ultimately save her…
This dual POV romantasy was intense from the first pages and didn’t slow down. The world-building was detailed but never overwhelmed the unfolding action, and I loved Ilsevel’s gods-gift of song.
This forced marriage romance has complex characters and interesting conflict. Consent and mutual satisfaction was at the core of this story and I loved it. I can’t wait to read the rest of the series!
Once again I let BookTok sway me into reading a book I had passed over before. I couldn't figure out what was going on. I didn't like any of the characters and in the end, I didn't care what happened next.
Y’all, I Really Did Try With This Book And I Got Almost Half Way, But This Book Just Gives Me Nothing, NOTHING AT ALL. I Really Didn’t Like Out FMC And The MMC Just Gives Me Plain Potato Chip. And The Thought Of Going Back To This Book Just Stresses Me Out So DNF I’m Sorry
Wow. What a ride. What an epic, incredible ride that was WarBride by Sylvia Mercedes.
I’ve loved Mercedes’ writing since the second I opened to the first page of Bride of the Shadow King. When I learned this spin off was soon on approach I was firing on all cylinders, ready to dive right into Ilsevel and Taar’s story.
It’s off to an utterly fantastic start.
Now, here’s a fun fact about this book— it’s a story that takes place over the course of three days. Let that sink in.
You might think it’s crazy; and I shan’t lie, so did I before I began…but oh my god.
Oh. My. God.
It freaking works.
It does more than just work, it dazzles.
It became the hook for me as I read on, because those three days not only lay out an incredible foundation for what’s yet yet to come, it applies intricacies within that foundation that will keep you planted at your feet and fully immersed in the experience that is this developing journey. It’s jam-packed with action, with character development, with chemistry galore, and with the promise of a love story for the ages.
These three days are beautifully paced. Embrace it because it amplifies this story so much.
It’s three days and lives are immediately change. Mine especially, y’all. Mine especially.
Ilsevel and Taar are magnificent leads. I was so happy to get to know them through their POVs and through each other’s eyes. Ilsevel is a character who suffers great loss, who is thrown into situation of unpredictability, uncertainty, and complete danger. Yet she looks it straight in the eyes and says, no. No, she will not lose herself to what’s happened. No, she will not abandon her loved ones, no matter what it costs to get them back. No, she will not have her future decided for her, even if that means ripping it away before it has a chance to start. Ilsevel is character of strong will, of resolve, of inner strength that fuels her full steam ahead. I adored her, I embraced her, and I can’t wait to see how she adapts to the situation she finds herself in as by book’s end.
Taar is an enigmatic, mesmerizing hero, which I love because I want to discover all he keeps hidden under those walls. He’s made of honor, and that honor propels him towards Ilsevel in an effort to protect her from the consequence of his own action. He sees to her as a duty, but we see his heart constantly swaying in a different direction. His brain and heart pull him onto different paths, one softening towards Ilsevel, the other hardening, distancing himself from her, redirecting himself back towards his goal. Taar is compelled by his word and honor and it was fascinating to see him navigate his situation, as his upholds his values while facing the sudden emotional chords, with his soul calling to something far more developing between him and his war bride.
The romance is set for a delicious slow burn— and fret not, as the beginning journey to something more will leave you well fed. Very well fed, in fact. I was wholly enraptured by the chemistry and developing dynamic between Ilsevel and Taar. Their situation is not easy, it is far from ideal, their conversations strained, their future forced on hold until their present is sorted, and yet their connection is utterly undeniable. Even if we aren’t seeing romancing, we are seeing something significant, poignant, and alluring unfurl between them.
The popcorn was out, and I was eating good!
WarBride is definitely the beginning for more to come, and its foundation is riveting, compelling, and already so incredibly dynamic.
I can’t lie, I’m completely, utterly impatient for the next book! I need it now! But I’ll control myself, and luckily, this book is just a shelf away, ready to revisit again and again until the journey is ready to continue.
Thank you so much to Sylvia Mercedes for this complimentary copy of WarBride, I leave this honest review voluntarily.
Saddle in folks. I’ve got one hell of a guilty pleasure read for ya.
Humans and fae are at war.
Princess Ilsevel has made an alliance with the wrong side and lives to regret it in a gripping story about truth, tenacity, finding your strength. Surviving, learning more about the world than you’ve ever known in your sheltered life. And magic so deep, wondrous, and terrifying, it will change the course of your life forever.
There is intricate magic in this book. Dark mages. Zombies… sort of. Trolls, monsters, fae, unicorns, enchanted forests and so much more.
The magic system is so cool and so detailed. It was very unique and exciting. Some of the interactions with magic in this book were so stunning it brought me to tears.
Part of the magic in this book is through song and it’s so beautiful I can’t handle it.
Some beings in this book have a bonded connection to their animals and I think that’s one of my favorite tropes. The animal connections oh my gosh my heart!
During a series of events, Ilsevel is captured and displayed at auction to be sold as a war bride. “The law of war brides requires a wedding ceremony immediately upon purchase followed by consummation... which must take place before dawn. If either of these requirements is unmet…. The next highest bidder may claim his winnings….”
A little fact that neither Ilsevel nor Taar knew about… before the purchase was completed…. Unfortunately, Ilsevel and Taar are both in a position where they cannot deny the rules of this law… it makes for a very interesting evening…
This book is very high stakes, I feel like I was always a bit on the edge of my seat waiting for the other shoe to drop. At the same time… this story is deeply romantic…
“Rage if you must. Weep if you must. Break if you must. But do so in my arms. Let me hold you as you fall to pieces. You are safe to break with me.”
There is loss in this book from multiple angles for multiple aspects of life “So the sorrow washes me, cleanses me, but does not drown me as I feared. Because I’m not alone. He’s here with me. I lean into his strength and sob until no tears remain.”
There’s a chase…. It’s delicious. He tells her to run and I immediately black out.
At what point is it actually illegal to have a book burn so slow? This is slow burn perfection. I got tasty crumbs and I need more. Immediately. I know I’m going to get it too. But being patient waiting for the next book in this series is going to be… agonizing.
And the last sentence of this book. Oh. My. Gosh.
This is a really fun fantasy romance that is just really entertaining and layered. And so much more of this story is going to play out in the next book. It’s a really exciting read and I highly recommend!
WOW! I was not prepared for how explosive, thrilling and mind blowing this story was going to be! It was PHENOMENAL! The insane beginning had me on the edge of my seat, biting my nails with anxiety and anticipation of what the hell was going to happen next and gasping at all the shocking twists and turns that the story takes.
The descriptive and creative imagery and world building really brought the atmosphere and story to life right before my eyes.
Ilsevel starts off naive and innocent but the way she starts to transforms into a more powerful and fierce woman was so incredible to witness. And I can’t wait to see how much fiercer she is going to be.
Taar is an exceptional warrior king. He’s fierce, dangerous, powerful, protective and underneath his tough exterior he has a heart of gold. He instantly knows that there is something extraordinary about Ilsevel that keeps pulling him towards her. He knows he needs to protect her and he will everything he can to help her even in the face of heartbreaking tragedy.
"Rage if you must. Weep if you must. Break if you must. But do so in my arms. Let me hold you as you fall to pieces. You are safe to break with me."
The way that Ilsevel and Taar connect on an otherworldly level was extraordinary. The slow building fire between them was about to explode into a raging inferno and I cannot wait for that to happen.
The emotional turmoil, pain, and heartbreak woven within the pages had me screaming and crying along with Ilsevel. So much hurt!
This story was brilliantly written with such amazing characters (both wonderful and wicked) and with a storyline that was filled with suspense, drama, violence, depravity, tragedy, passion and an undeniable love that was slowly growing between two amazing characters.
I devoured this story in one sitting and could not put it down. It was just so damn good and I can’t wait for what happens next.
3.5 stars. Huh. Almost this entire 400 page book takes place over the course of one day. Not that much happens in it. The world-building is light and magic system isn't really clear at this point, BUT, I still enjoyed myself. It's fun. I'm invested. I will pick up book 2 when it's published in February 2025.
Overall, I enjoyed it—the plot, the execution, and even the grammar were spot on! But I think it could use a bit more detail about who the main character is and what makes him different from everyone else. And the fight scenes? They could use a bit more oomph .
A unique story and quick read. The IG ad intrigued me and I am happy to say the book has action and unusual fantasy elements that had me curious. However, it had very little sexual tension. Maybe 1 or 2 moments of actual chemistry / spice between the FMC and MMC. Most of it is her hating him / herself for her current situation. Also it's pretty obvious by like 20% in that he doesn't hate her. He might not understand her but no it's not really "enemies to lovers" in the sense of him outright hating her.
Now granted she does struggle with hating him so it's more of a one sided enemies to lovers.
I'm also pretty disappointed in what happened to the sister Aurea (spelling). I was actually more interested in the "sweet innocent" sister than the typical "I'm a fiery, mouth off female" as is such an over used character in romance novels. But alas we are assuming Aurea was killed off what? Not sure, as the FMC already feels guilty for playing a part in all this happening so let's just add more burden and guilt to her plate? Again, not sure of the purpose of the death other than shock value. But a small hope is the that since we don't have a body maybe Aurea will show up in another book.
After the sister "died" I frankly lost interest. The more I think about it the more I feel like the story wasn't paced very well. The whole book (and even the second) could've been the road to finding the sister. The FMC talked of nothing else in the story. It was her goal and mission and yet by the 75% book 1 the sister is gone? I dunno, is it just me or do some books overcomplicate things? Like all of book 1 and 2 could've built to sisters death (if it had happen). Trial and bumps along the way. The could've gone to his homeland for help or hell found out the big bad mage had her and that pushed the MMC and FMC to unite. For human FMC to side with "the enemy" to get her sister back.
Alas, so many ifs....but instead it all happened in like 24 hours and 1 book. And now we have some larger more complicated thing happening by bringing back the MMC supposedly dead girlfriend??
Overall, I just feel like some romantasy stories are better suited for epic/big world problems while others are best for smaller / personal struggles. And this book felt like the latter.

Well it seems Sylvia has knocked it out of the park yet again, although I don’t know why I’m surprised. She has always been a five star read for me.
I’ve been so excited about this book since Taar and Ilsevel made their appearance in the shadow king trilogy but I won’t lie, I was a little apprehensive about reading it because to me nothing can top the Shadow king series with Vor and Faraine. BUT I’ve never been so happy to be wrong. This book completely stole my heart with its feisty banter and swoon worthy romance. Not to mention the knife at the throat moments. 😍
Sylvia always does the best enemies to lovers and the way the feelings these characters have towards each other completely shift back and forth. AHHHH! I loved it. The longing and desire that Taar has for his warbride and the way it conflicts with the expectations and traditions of his people had me on the she of my seat. He is also so caring towrads her my heart melted.
“There, there, little songbird," he croons, his voice rough and yet somehow gentle. "Rage if you must. Weep if you must. Break if you must. But do so in my arms. Let me hold you as you fall to pieces. You are safe to break with me." 😮💨
There were moments when I was reading this and automatically got transported to the world of lord of the rings. With all the different characters and monsters. I was transported back my childhood and got completely lost in this amazing world. Sylvia this world and book was top tier and I’m loving the way this story is playing out. I have a feeling there is so much more going on that we are not yet aware of (like a soulmate situation maybe? 😜) and I can’t wait for it all to unravel.
This was the best set up to what I know is going to be another amazing trilogy (I devoured it in two hours) and I cannot wait to read the next two books.
I will say that while you don’t necessarily need to have read bride of the shadow king, you should if you want a better understanding of this world and it’s characters.
“WarBride” is the first book in a new fantasy romance trilogy by Sylvia Mercedes, and it tells the story of Princess Ilsevel, a fiery and tenacious young woman who is captured and sold as a warbride, a fate she considers worse than death.
The warlord who wins the right to claim Ilsevel as his warbride is called Taar, and even though you might think he wanted to have her for nefarious purposes, I promise you that there’s so much more to their story.
I really loved both Taar and Ilsevel’s POVs. I loved how respectful Taar was toward Ilsevel, and how important having her consent was to him. As for Ilsevel, I thought she was passionate and determined, if a little naïve.
All in all, I truly enjoyed reading WarBride, and I’ve definitely become invested in Taar and Ilsevel’s story. I will be eagerly anticipating the next book, and I highly recommend this one!
Side note: the WarBride trilogy is set in the same world as Sylvia Mercedes’ Bride of the Shadow King trilogy, which features Ilsevel’s older sister, Princess Faraine.
While you don’t need to read both trilogies to understand what’s happening, I personally think your reading experience will be so much better if you do!
Sylvia has done it yet again. I am a huge fan of the Shadow King series, I love Vor and Faraine. If you haven't read that series, I definitely recommend reading it first.
Ilsevel is a force to be reckoned with. I adore her personality and penchant for grabbing stabby things(I myself am collector of stabby things, so much that I have a favorite place to buy them). I absolutely loved hearing Taars thoughts of her. I honestly thought Vor and Faraine were my favorite characters from Sylvia, but then she gave us these characters.
There is this one line where Taar is admiring her tenacity and compares her to a wolf's fierce disposition. I thought to myself that no matter what he thinks right now, that man is definitely going to fall for her. There is something about warrior men and them noticing the strength in women that will ALWAYS hook me in.
Big fan of Sylvia Mercedes’ work and this one didn’t disappoint. Her books always seem to include interesting magic, lovable characters and well crafted romances. Her writing style is engaging and well paced and she tackles tricky issues, like consent, thoughtfully which I always appreciate.
I love that this series takes place alongside the Shadow King trilogy and adds layers to that world. The book can be enjoyed without reading the others but I don’t know why anyone would want to miss out on that series!
I’m excited for the next books to dig in to the characters more deeply and find out what happens next.
Definitely recommend!
ARC received from author in return for honest review.
What an amazing find! I am in my romantasy era hardcore and I love having some darker elements sprinkled in. This one gives off captured bride historical romance vibes but in a fantasy romance setting. We have a sexy Hero who is rough around the edges, and a tough as nails virgin Heroine who goes through hell and back in the 2 days covered in this book.
The bedroom scene- absolute perfection. There’s so much tension in this book, and I cannot wait for it to explode. Read if you like fantasy romance, Virgin FMCs, enemies to lovers, captive romance, slow burns, and world building that will leave you imagining yourself here.
