Monsters. Sword and sorcery. A harem of an ice demon beauty, a sexy dark-elf assassin, a childhood crush...and more.
We're going across the seas, to pursue the enemy in their homes and to hit them hard before they have another chance to strike.
But when we arrive, we find there's more to this enemy than anticipated. I must rely upon my dark powers if I want to stand a chance of defeating them, to the point that I just might lose myself.
It's a sacrifice I'm willing to make.
Listen in if you enjoy detailed harem elements, blood, and a hero who teeters on the edge of good and evil. It's all about perspective, isn't it?
Overall the book is pretty good but the middle part of the book was not nearly as entertaining as the beginning and end. The characters are interesting but anyone else in the book is just a cardboard cutout with nothing spectacular to tell you about them. The book needs some better description of the characters we run into. Overall the book is entertaining. The secondary characters are just red shirts waiting to die.
Mark Albany's newest addition to the Ice Reavers series yet again touches on many high points. One of the most interesting aspects of this series is the humanity that his characters exhibit. It's shown as characters fight not only the enemy, but as they deal with their inner darkness, as well as the fallout of actions. This very human insight into what's happening within the book keeps eyes glued to the book. The adult scenes within the series are also very human, and give the reader the desire to see more of them. However these scenes are amazingly adult as well, no fade to black. Cannot wait for both the next book in this series but any novel by this great author.
A continuation of the storyline of an individual who finds himself in the best series I've had the pleasure of reading in a while. It tells of magic love and intrigue and fighting for your life and the lives of people with whom you love and fight with to save your home as well as the homes of others.
Brak and his entourage continue their hunt for the “God King” in a land less familiar. New characters and enemies alike lead them on an exciting chase. As in previous books the banter and characters continue with well though out prose. Lots of fun reading this book and in spite of the tasteful Harem aspects I highly recommend reading this story.
Interesting middle story but it appears that the ending may not be written. This one seemed to drag at some points and went crazy fast at other points. I did like the first book a bit better. If Mark is listening, I would really like to see how it all ends. 🙂
