Hard Ride
Nothing is sexier than a determined woman, qualities Katie Parker has in spades. Katie Parker took her grandfather’s company apart when she inherited it, and developed her own more streamlined business platform, encompassing her passion( amongst others) – Hard Ride – the place she has called her home and plied her trade as a mechanic for the last two years.
Houston Moore works with Katie at the garage for the last two years and while there has always been an undercurrent of attraction between the ex-Navy Intelligence officer and the hard working rich girl, Katie has always endeavoured to keep a distinct line between employer and employee but the lines are getting fuzzier every day…
When they light the fuse that has been evident between them the resulting fireworks are explosive, they are ….wow! Houston takes no prisoners when he unleashes his alpha tendencies on this strong woman and she takes what he has to give and loves every minute of it.
They work brilliantly as a couple, but Katie stole my attention... This girl had the world at her feet but chose to stand by her belief that she could better and elected to do things her own way, no matter the condescension.
The story is jam packed with romance, mystery and danger. Because when Katie finds that things are not as they should be with the business finances, her investigations put her in jeopardy. Those with an axe to grind are not going to just lay down and disappear, they have a plan and Houston and Katie are going to have to ride out the storm that they soon find themselves at the centre of. A trip to hospital and the local jail in equal measure is only the tip of the iceberg, they are on the receiving end of what can only be described as a sustained campaign against them and they almost pay the ultimate price.
I would have liked a little bit more back story before the events between Houston and Katie kicked off. But despite that I have to say that this is an engaging read, with an edge of mystery that ticked all the right boxes.

This book was given to me for an honest review. Can I just say wow what an awesome book! I enjoyed it greatly let me tell you I've been in a book funk. This book had action, adventure, love, scandal and a few beatings. Katie and Houston will not leave you hanging! She's stubborn and he's an ex Navy Intelligence Officer so you know they are going to butt heads a time or two. It was an all around good book with a HEA, for the main character's of course. I'm glad I got the chance to read it and would definitely recommend it to others.

IT IS HOT~
This book will keep you on the edge of your seat, it will keep you wanting more.
Katie is a hard nut to crack. She is dominant and feisty. A hard to tame girl that is not looking or love.
She is happy with her life just the way it is.
Houston is the gorgeous mechanic that works for her and he want's a taste of Katie.
Since the first day he has worked for his boss lady he has had his eye on her.
Watching her work on cars and running her business is such a turn on to him.
BUT Houston wants to control the fire that burns inside of Katie and she is not willing to let
anyone do that.
When these two come together can they handle the first that it starts.
When Houston wants more from Katie then just a quick WAM BAM Thank you man~ What is
she going to do? What happens when she starts to question the way she is feeling too?
Not only that, but there is danger lurking, and things are not as they seem.
Katie is in trouble with her business and it seems she can't trust anyone around her.
Can Houston protect his feisty Hell Cat?
This is Trixie's debut novel. Feels like she has been writing suspenseful romance for longer then that.
This book kept me captivated from the very first turn of the page.
These two characters together lit the pages on fire.
Some of these scenes were so hot, I think I actually blushed.
I looked up looked around to make sure nobody was watching me. LOL
Just WOW!
Katie loves cars, and this takes place at her place of business Hard Ride.
I don't think I have ever read a book with such a strong woman character that owned her own
business rebuilding cars. It was refreshing being able to read something that was not the
normal boy meets girl, boy falls in love with girl, tragedy happens, fights happen and then HEA.
This is not that kind of story. You will be asking Trixie when her next book is going to be coming out.

A hard ride in more ways than one!
Katie is the owner of a body shop, Hard Ride, specializing in muscle cars. She is very independent and determined, and she has to be – she is trying to make a name for herself and also prove that unlike her father, she can run an honest business. Katie believes she doesn’t need anyone in her life to help her, let alone a man, and she needs to prove she can do everything on her own. Ms. Pierce does a wonderful job showing how independent (and stubborn) Katie can be; however, there are allusions to “Daddy issues” that have made her who she is and I felt there was something missing from these details of her backstory.
I enjoyed the balancing acts and conflicts between Katie and Houston, who has been working for her the last few years. Katie and Houston have both been trying to fight the attraction they have for each other and hide their feelings. They finally give in to their mutual attraction, and the fireworks begin in more ways than one.
Houston is a hot, sexy, and dominant alpha male with a desire to protect and do everything he can to take care of the woman in his life. Katie has a fairly dominant personality herself, and feels that Houston is at times stifling her and being over-protective. Both characters struggle with admitting the depth of their feelings to themselves and each other, as well as learning how to compromise and balance their personalities. Ms. Pierce did a beautiful job showing the dominant and independent traits of both characters and how they were able to work things out, even if it was a hard ride at times.
Unfortunately for Katie, she has made some enemies. She dismantled her father’s businesses, and there are those in town who see her as a woman trying to be a man in a man’s business. Odd things start happening to Katie and her business, and when Katie gets hurt, Houston’s protective instincts fire up. The mystery deepens with each new discovery, and readers are left wondering what exactly is going on, and who is behind it all. I had theories about who was behind it all, but Ms. Pierce had some tricks up her sleeve and that made me question my theories.
Overall, Hard Ride is a great debut. The characters were fairly well-developed and meshed well together. I enjoyed Ms. Pierce’s writing style of combining suspense and romance, and there were definitely some hot and steamy scenes between Katie and Houston. This would have been a 5-star read fo

Katie "Hellcat" Parker is the owner and head mechanic at Hard Ride. Katie loves restoring old vehicles, and also has a few other small businesses under her control. Katie has harbored a crush on her employee Houston Moore for two years, but has always kept her distance until now...
When the two come out from under the hood, Katie discovers some unauthorized invoices. While investigating the unexplained discrepancies, things between Katie and Houston get pretty hot and heavy, as well as dangerous, and even deadly!
Right off the bat things get down and dirty in the shop! Even though the bow-chick-a-wow-wow starts in chapter one, it doesn't feel sleazy like a 70's porn! We are introduced to the main characters at work, and the crush they both have for each other is revealed before pants drop. The fact that Katie is a strong, independent woman, that melts at the demands of Houston's "alpha" sexual prowess, just shows you we are secretly want to be man handled, LOL! The two year sexual buildup has done great justice to their first encounter of release, wowzer!
Once Katie starts digging into her finances to find out who is creating havoc, Houston and Katie's lives turn upside down! The seriousness of the matter is pretty scary shit! Katie is bullied by another vehicle on the highway, late at night, and then has a confrontation with the driver which lands her in jail. Then Houston is followed and assaulted, sending him to the hospital. It's crazy, and the madness doesn't stop there, they both continue to get their asses kicked, and almost die!
I loved Katie and Houston's relationship, how they complimented one another, and learned how to work together in the end. The story was a sexy, scary, thrilling ride, that I will enjoy reading over and over again!

I love books that have strong heroines, throw in that she works in a traditionally male role restoring cars, and I knew I was just going to love Katie. Then add in the fact that she is a kick-ass business woman on top of everything else, and I am definitely a fan!
And as much as I loved Katie, Houston was everything you would want in a man – totally alpha, but secure enough to let a woman be in charge, protective and loyal, yet knows that his woman can take care of herself – yep, everything you would want!
Even though there has been a huge attraction between these two, the fact that Katie is Houston’s employer has always held her back from starting anything with him. When she finally does give in the timing couldn't be more terrible – someone’s been embezzling money from the shop, as well as several of the other businesses that Katie owns, and now Katie has become a target. Add to that the fact that Katie carries around some pretty heavy emotional baggage that keeps her pulling away from Houston, and you know this relationship is in for one hard ride.
As Katie finds herself in danger, Houston’s protective side kicks in and he’s going to do everything he can to keep her safe…and work his way into her heart!
This was a fun, quick read with some mystery and nice, hot steamy times. The only complaint I would have is that it was too short! I would have loved to have had a bit more of the back-story on both characters – it sounds like Katie had quite the childhood and I would have loved to have learned more about what happened when she got her hands on her father’s business, I bet that would make for a story in itself! But overall I enjoyed this one and look forward to reading more from this author!

Born into an outwardly perfect family with unlimited wealth and prestige, Katie Parker appears to have it all. At 25 Katie ends up with Parker Enterprises Inc, the company founded by her great grandfather and she causes national headlines when she dismantles and closes down the company for what appears to be no valid reason and in turn establishes her own smaller company encompassing small businesses including “Hard Ride”, where she works as a mechanic.
Enter ex-Navy Intelligence Officer Houston. He has been working on cars with Katie for 2 years as her employee and regularly taking matters into his own hands to cope with the sizzling sexual tension between the two of them and the relationship she won’t allow to happen between employer and employee.
When it finally seems that Houston is going to get his way and Katie exactly where he wants her, Katie’s past rears its ugly head and family issues come back from the past to haunt her and try to end their relationship and possibly her life. Danger is around the corner and things are not what they seem.
First time romance author Trixie Pierce has put together an intriguing plot, but I would have loved to see her go into more detail with her characters and Katie’s past.
Sometimes the plot felt a bit rushed, but it is a very solid romantic debut and I hope to read more from this author in the future!

I really wanted to love this story, but it didn't quite get there for me. I figured out who was behind the suspense way too early so the rest of the book for me was just waiting for it to be revealed.
Katie is a strong woman with multiple businesses (but we only hear about one really). She has a sexy as heck coworker, who she has lusted after for a while. He's also lusted after her. True to most romance books, they figure it out pretty quickly, never really thinking about what had held them back for so long.
There was quite a few spicy scenes, but for me they were missing something to be notched up to HOT.
I think over all everything just needed to be more developed for me. The whole daddy issue thing needed to be talked about and bulked up a bit more for me to believe it.
At the end, it was an okay read. I'd possibly read the author again in hopes that the next book was developed more and a finer toothed editing comb was used cause there was enough errors to become distracting.

Katie is the owner of a body shop and she has worked hard to ensure that her work is above par and honest. Nothing like her father’s old company which she personally dismantled a few years back. Katie is very trusting of her employees and wants only the best for them and her business. Houston has been working for Katie for the past few years and has a major crush on her. Some light flirting here and there eventually leads to more. When things start happening to Katie Houston goes into protective mode. He wants to help her find out what is going on with her business and how to put a stop to it. The further he digs the more he begins to realize that Katie is in grave danger. Katie doesn’t want Houston to take care of her problems for her she has always been self-reliant. Watching the way her father was with her mother has completely turned her off from the idea of having a guy take care of her. Houston doesn’t give up that easily though. The more they discover the worse it gets. Will Katie finally be able to get over her fears and let Houston all the way in? Will Houston be able to protect Katie from getting killed? When Katie learns the truth about who is after her will she be able to cope?

Houston has been thinking about having Katie for about 2 years. Form the first time he saw her bend over the hood of a car. Katie has been lusting over the Housotn's hot body hidden underneath the jumpsuit for about the same amount of time. They do this nice dance of flirting until the flirting could not be held back as nothing any longer. And let me tell you the Alpha Male in him came out and pounded his mark into her.
Sexy and smoldering are not all that Trixie gives us in this book. We have Katie who owns and run several businesses but loves to rebuild cars and knows how to defend herself against men even sending one to the hospital. Oh and some one is after her.....mystery and danger!

This was my first time reading this author and I think that she did a really good job showing the power struggle with the independent and the dominant personality of these two. This was a really good read I will be reading more of this authors work.

Awesome heroine? With hot cars, hot men, and steamy sex, Hard Ride delivers what it promises! As an independent reviewer for Paranormal Books and Authors that Rock, I enjoyed this book on so many levels. As a car chick, having been raised around real cars and junkyards my entire childhood, her shop and the cars she owns and works on were as hot as the man she finally gives in and lets close to her.
Trixie Pierce has created a heroine that can save herself, but decides to let a man be her much needed support system. The sex scenes are steamy and just a tiny tad rough at times, just the way I like them. The language is strong, vulgar by most standards, but it's real. Not just frivolous curse words thrown around, the language comes at a place where I would say the same thing myself. It's not for younger readers, by a long shot, but those of us who already live in the real world will enjoy the visit to Trixie's world.

This was a fantastic book for an up and coming author! Trixie is awesome for just releasing this book! I was sucked in from the beginning, once Katie hears that sexy voice I was hooked. Katie is just an average lady workin her butt off doing what she loves, who needs a man to take care of you when you are so strong? Houston is THE Alpha Male, once he gets a taste of sweet Katie there's no going back. A lot of things are thrown at them while they are just starting out. Katie would never believe who is behind all the bad things in her life, she thought she put an end to all that years ago when she started her new business. Can Houston save her? Will their friends with benefits relationship turn to something more? These are the questions you'll be asking yourself throughout the book! I can't wait to read more from Trixie!

Wow What an amazing short story!! It completely blew my mind it was loaded with lots of great things lot's of twist to the story and for the short amount of pages it covered a lot. The author did a great job with everything to deal with the story my only thing is how I wish their was more to it maybe longer but I can't complain to much I didn't get left on a cliffhanger but it did leave me wanting more. The story was great, the characters even better, the story line blew away my mind, so yes this is a really great read. I was able to start and finish it all in one day heck only a few hours!!

Hot, hot, hot - the first scene just catapults you into the relationship that underpins the whole story, and sets the bar high! I was so happy to read this book. Very well written with an amazing story-line. Who knew i would become a fan of muscle cars. Katie who owns multiple business including Hard Ride has been attracted to her employee Houston. Houston has had the hots for Katie as well. They both have a love of a nice revved up motor. Katie finds out that someone has been stealing from her business and it's an inside job. While trying to pinpoint what is going on she gets a little bumped and bruised a long the line. Can Houston help her and protect her the way he wants or will Katie try to handle it all on her own. his book is a pretty hot read.

Fast guy and hot cars oops I mean fast cars and hot guys...
Houston, the alpha male, makes my mouth water but I love how Katie is a strong woman that gives and takes what she wants. Houston's need and desire to protect Katie is definitely commendable. It's a good thing his previous background helps out because who knows where the two of them would have been with out it.
This was a fast read for me and was more than I was expecting. I'm looking forward to reading the next book to see what happens.

This is a really super debut novel.
Katie is a great fiesty character. She's a successful woman and she runs her own garage. It was great to read about a woman getting her hands dirty in more ways than one. Houston has been working for her for a few years. She is in all his thoughts. Katie would like a friends with benefits relationship with Houston. This is a great story of opening up and allowing people in. Loved the classic car aspect to it. Myself and my partner spend many weekends at classic car shows :)

Houston is a total Alpha male when it comes to protecting Katie. Unfortunately Katie is very independent and has a hard time admitting her feelings for Houston and accepting his help. The opening scene is hot and sets the tone for their encounters. My only complaint is that I would have like the story to be longer to allow for more history of both the characters and what led them to be where they are now. Overall a good love story - looking forward to more from the author.

This as the author said is her first book and although it does show slightly it is an amazing story and very different. It tells the story of Katie a female mechanic who owns her own mechanic's business but in doing so has put herself in danger from her family. Her employee Houston is ex military and when her life and business is put in danger he pulls out all the stops to try and help her. Really enjoyed the story but think the plot needed a bit more depth to it x

Houston is her very able-bodied employee who spends most of his time admiring Katie bent over her latest muscle car repair job. Things start to heat up until Katie finds herself under attack from her father's greedy and dangerous enemies. Now Katie and Houston are fighting for their lives and their romance may just have to wait!

I didn't think I would like this one. But, I gave it a shot. I'm so glad I did. I enjoyed it so much. I love the car background. Having grown up with Judges, Chargers and other fast cars it was interesting to me. The steamy sex was very good too. I love the intrigue as Katie and Houston worked to find out what was going on in her company. I highly recommend it!

The one thing I can say about Hard Ride is that I want more! Houston and Katie were perfect. You get the independent heroine with a bit of reluctance from her past and also the Alpha male who learns to adjust to his hellcat of a woman. The sex was hot and having it around gorgeous cars, oil, and grease was even hotter.

It started out pretty good but took a quick turn to a little more drama than I was expecting. The book was a quick read so it wasn't anytime lost. I would still read it again if I had time. The writing style was enjoyable just some of the elements were very dramatic and felt almost like watching a soap opera to me.

ONE I love a book with bad ass cars and sexy people! So this book hit on point with me. It had a great story line that had you wondering who was behind all the madness. I would love to read more about these HOtties .

Hard Ride is a 5 Alarm hot read and just when you think it is about them hooking up whenever and where ever they become so much more. It is a super fast read and for such a small book it holds a lot of story. Great ending.

Enjoyed the book, it's a good story with a round plot, except for one main point. There's something unresolved, I can't tell since I don't want to spoil it to someone else, but I needed a reason.
