A 16K word erotic romance novella.

WARNING: Includes detailed sexual encounters, including oral and anal sex and an unconventional relationship. Not for closed-minded individuals or readers under the age of 18.

Bella Darcy is personal assistant, muse and plaything to wealthy businessman Mr. Pettifor. Their 9-5 relationship is unconventional, but mutually satisfying.

Mr. Pettifor is alpha male personified - demanding, stern, insatiable, emotionally closed-off and seemingly indifferent to anything that doesn't involve six zeros behind it.

Bella had never wanted more until the day she heard passionate cries that didn't belong to her, coming from his office. Deeply hurt and realizing that she cannot be with a man who can so blatantly be with another woman while she is mere feet away, Bella turns in her letter of resignation, throwing Mr. Pettifor into a tailspin.

Short, sweet, & sizzling hot!
I keep a very close watch over his schedule and time, as well as seeing to his personal needs, in all matters. But the best parts of our routine are the mornings and they are what I treasure the most. When Mr. Pettifor comes over the intercom to tell me he wants his continental breakfast, I know it's not eggs and a bagel that he's requesting.
...that's right, some good ol' fashioned bagin' the boss kink!
Yum.

Continental Breakfast is the first of a three part series following the unconventional relationship of Bella Darcy and her boss, Mr. Pettifor… While this installment is short – coming in at a mere 53 pages – it packs an erotic punch which will knock your socks off!

We share a symbiotic relationship that goes without saying. His needs are met and so are mine.
This is an unraveling relationship which causes both parties to rethink the nature of their partnership before it's too late...

Bella Darcy is ready to move on and train a replacement to suit the needs of her demanding boss.
...or is she?

And

Oh Yes!!! It was deeply satisfying!!!!

"...it's a beautiful thing to see Mr Pettifor in CEO mode."

After finishing a very intense series I needed something fun and sexy with likable characters and a good dose of sex and this little novella delivered on all my criteria!!! It was the perfect tonic to cleanse my mind and clear my head!!! It was just what I needed.

"That day was one of many firsts for me: My first real interview and job offer, my first real orgasm and the first time a man looked at me the way he did."

I enjoyed the way Bella, our heroine, seemed to talk directly to me and was so matter of fact about her situation and the un-boss-like actions of Mr Pettifor... her candidness made me smile..... Mr 'Alpha Male' Pettifor was of course very CEO gorgeous and together they were dynamite!!!

Where would it all end for them???
Could they have more?

Read this sexy little Novella and find out; I'm so glad I did!!!

"Ms. Darcy, I'm ready for my continental breakfast."

(This novella is erotic in genre. And as what its synopsis said, it contains detailed sexual and steamy encounters. Read at your own risk.) ;)

So here's what I thought about Continental Breakfast. It's pretty sexy and entertaining, and it kinda gave me a break from all the heavy reads I've indulged lately.

It's a story about Bella Darcy, a beautiful and sexy assistant of a rich, billionaire CEO Mr. Xander Pettifor. Together they have a relationship-- but this relationship is not a typical romantic one. It's purely sexual. The BDSM type. No feelings involved except lust. All their sexual innuendos usually happen at the office, mostly in the mornings where the boss will call her around for a continental breakfast . (If you know what I mean);). Things suddenly changed when Bella thought she was falling in love with her boss. She even realized that she's jealous when Mr. Pettifor's ex came around. And there, the conflict began.

This novella is well-written and I can't see any reason not to like the author's writing style. But then, it fell short and I thought that a lot of qualities that should've made this book worthy for a 5 star-rating are amiss. The author was not able to accomplish a strong plot. The characters were also a bit shallow, especially Mr. Pettifor.

He was described as a good-looking man but all I could picture out was a man who's not so attractive even though he's a billionaire and with a brusque personality. I also can't pull out any emotion from him. There was just... nothing! Nothing I could grasp. A POV of him would have helped but well...

I also can't feel the love and romance between them. There were no feels. No feels at all. This novella would've been great if those qualities were incorporated here.

The author was good with words, though. And I'm sure she can do a lot better than this in the future. :)

Erotic romance novella between cool distant but considerate Dom boss H and a young secretary with a spine.

The novella starts with h already working for H couple of years. She used to be insecure and meek and brash earlier. In that time he has groomed her to be a competent secretary and confident cherished woman - but also his sexual office plaything, which the h very much enjoys. H is kind to her. However H maintains an emotional distance which the h is okay with as she doesn't want more.

One day the H's ex walks in and tries to get H back by makng him watch her orgasm. The h hears them and gets the wrong idea. She realises she has fallen for her boss and since he doesn't seem to feel the same way(plus she is starting med school) decides to move on and hands in her resignation.

The H is stunned and tries in many ways to change her mind but to no avail. The h was strong yet vulnerable. I didn't like that the h had to quit for the H to want to know more about her than her body or when she said ILU he didn't reply and made her wait for months, but it was clear that H was somewhat OCD/controlling/emotionally uptight so it was hard for him to emotionally open himself up to h.

On the whole I enjoyed the writing a lot. The atmosphere in the book is sexually open minded as well which I liked. 4 stars!!
Safe romance.

3 I’m really conflicted and might lower the rating later ⭐️’s

For its length (60 pages) it’s a pretty solid read but IMO this could have a WHOLE lot better if a few things were a little different.

1. The whole cheating misunderstanding was annoying, and I hate when authors do this. Either make the hero cheat or just leave it out of the story but don’t center your whole book around a stupid misunderstanding.

2. The heroine........OH MA GAWD. Can the girl just stand still for a SECOND almost every time the hero is trying to talk to her SHE STORMS OUT!!!!! This got annoying after the first THREEE times. Just sit down and listen!!!

3. The sporadic sex after she she believes he “cheated” on her. I can’t with heroines who can’t control their bodies. It really annoyed me that she didn’t put her foot down about the sex after she decided she was gonna resign and quit working for him.

4. That abrupt ass ending made NOOO SENSE! It was an hea and all but it was so quick and convenient. Three months after she quits working for the H and is super sad about leaving him, she runs into to him and they make up RIGHT AWAY????

Now that I have gone over my issues with this story I think I’m being really generous with the 3 ⭐️‘s but, whatever it was pretty entertaining even though it really missed a great opportunity to hit the angst spot. I most likely won’t be reading the second book since it focuses on the couple after they are married and the blurb just sounds meh 😑

This is the first book of Ms. Dominguez I've read. I loved it. I loved it because it moved me to tears and I cried through half the book. Bella is not a complicated character. She is one who makes a decision and sticks to it. The heartbreak of betrayal crushed her and rather than be a victim, she does her best to move on. She doesn't even hate Mr. Pettifor. She adores him so much - she finds another assistant for him.

This story isn't complicated. The conflict is with miscommunication. The world building is barely existent. It's even in first person which isn't something I prefer. Yet this book moved me because of the emotion. Ms. Dominguez did an excellent job of showing a heart crushed. She takes me on a ride where I'm emotionally invested.

The sex in this story is steamy hot and delicious. I'm aroused yet feeling angry. How can he do this to him? Why is he so cruel? How could he? How could she return all those items he gifted her? Did she not know he bought them for her and only her? This book crushes me. This book is highly recommended for erotic readers who love a bit of angst.

”Lay back, Ms. Darcy. I’m very hungry this morning,”

Ms. Darcy has been working for Mr. Pettifer for the past two years, she meets all of his needs and is perfectly content with their 9 to 5 relationship, her favorite part of the routine is when he tell her ”…he wants his continental breakfast.” All that changes when Ms. Darcy overhears Mr. Pettifer in his office with woman who is the complete opposite of her, she couldn’t believe that he could do that to her, sure she had no claim over him, but she thought that she meant more. Ms. Darcy decides it’s time to move on and Mr. Pettifer just has to deal with her decision.

Super short erotic tale, where chemistry and need is much more present than communication. I enjoyed it, perfect for an afternoon read

******* 4 "should be 5 but I needed more " stars" *******

Don't hate people. The story was great but I needed to read more about the 2 years spent working together in order to truly grasp their connection......well that and the fact that I'm nosy. Mr. Pettifor was one hell of a boss.

I'd be more than willing to work Pro Bone"O" for him. Xander, I got your double stake waiting right here Boo-Boo...just sayin :-)

3 stars which, according to GR = liked it, and I did like it.

Was I in love with it? No.

Would I read it again? Probably not.

Did I enjoy it while I was reading it? Yes.

So there you have it.

This was my first venture into Ella Dominguez's work and I am actually pleasantly surprised. I've had The Art of Submission trilogy parked on my Kindle for weeks & I am really looking forward to it now.

Cheers!

this was somewhat different read for me, but i very much enjoyed it. i loved the dynamic between the two main characters and how it developed throughout the story. the tension that was created was palpable as they each seemed to deny what they both wanted all along. add in some hot scenes and this is a definite must read. thanks to susie for the recommendation.

Awwww! 60 pages... I would have happily read 400 of these.

Though I didn't expect it, because I rarely manage to connect to the story and the characters is such a short novella, this book was awesome! I loved it!
It was hot, intense and deliciously kinky. Loved the silly panties!

This was my first approach to this author and I will certainly try out some of the other titles.

A short and very hot story of a young woman who works hard to please her boss in every way possible, but is crushed when she hears him pleasing another woman. When she tenders her resignation, her boss works to set the record straight.

The story is written from Bella's POV and the author does a great job of drawing the reader into her emotions. It is very clear that Bella loves her boss and is too distraught over his lust for another woman that she cannot bear it. Even after Bella leaves...I knew that this wasn't the end. Developing Bella's character is the biggest strength of this book.

The sex is very hot in this story as well. Oral and anal sex takes place in the office as well as conventional, and all the scenes are with Bella and her alpha boss. The.emotional crescendos felt by Bella are just as much a part of the sex as the act.

Overall,I really liked this story. I prefer shorter reads with some emotion and very steamy action for my erotica reads, and this one delivers in every way. Four and a half stars.

What a great short read!!! It was super hot and fabulous. I really don't like to read novellas for my fear that they are too short and leave me wanting more. Well this did neither-it told a complete story In a short amount of time and gave me a great ending. It covered a wide range of emotions and I just loved it!!!! Great job Ella!!!

This sex ridden little novella was a fab little read for a Sunday morning.

To be honest, I probably could have read a full length book on these two. The sex was hot and it kept me engaged throughout. I love a good alpha-male and Xander did not disappoint!

Definitely a hidden gem with this one if you are after a short little burst of action!

Well for a short book this grabs you. The story was believable. I liked the way that even though it was short you felt like you knew the characters. The only problem i had was with the way that the characters didn't really talk to each other. For gods sake they were having sex for ages but they never really talked about things.

4.5 short and sexy stars(for a novella)

I really wanted to get to read Ella Dominguez's Art of D/s Trilogy before I met her over Book Bash Weekend. But with all the planning and last minute prep, there was no time. All of my friends were reading it and loving it. So Ella released Continental Breakfast, a short novella last month, so at least I'd be able to read a little of her writing before meeting her. Now I want to read The Art of D/s even more, because I loved this little novella!

"When Mr. Pettifor comes over the intercom to tell me he wants his continental breakfast, I know it's not eggs and bagel he's requesting"

Bella Darcy has worked as Mr. Pettifor's personal assistant for 2 years. And I mean personal in every way. But Mr. Pettifor, besides having sexual encounters and buying great clothes for his assistant, is otherwise closed off and emotionless.

"There is simply mind-blowing and deeply satisfying sex. We share a symbiotic relationship that goes without saying. His needs are met and so are mine."

Until she overhears some moaning and a definite orgasm coming from a beautiful blonde in his office. That's when Bella realizes she wants more. And will not stand by while he does other women. So she enters her resignation and hires another young lady to handle Mr. Pettifor's 'needs', no matter how much it hurts her.

It's clear though, that Mr. Pettifor only wants Bella.

"I want all of you Bella, and since you didn't let me spank this ass last night, I'm going to fuck it tonight," he growls.

Likes:

-A nice satisfying hot little novella, with a full story and even an epilogue.
-Likable characters.
-Enough angst to keep it interesting.
-The writing style makes it difficult to put down.
-Hot sex.

Dislikes:

-Some of the terminology made me giggle ('manjuice')
-Pretty damn unrealistic, but really, who cares, it's a fantasy.
-I wish I knew more of Mr. Pettifor's feelings.
-Not sure this is a dislike or not...the writing has a somewhat formal feel. I thought it was a historical at first until I got into it.

Overall, reading this story has definitely convinced me to push Ella's other series, The Art of D/s up on my TBR list. Continental Breakfast was a short, sexy satisfying little read that just teased me for more of Ella's writing.

Rating: 4.5 stars (novella rating) 4.5 Heat

Continental Breakfast by Ella Dominguez was a cute, sexy little book with a lot of story and sex packed into like 50-60 pages. If she can do that much with such a short story, I look forward to seeing what Ella can do with her 3 book series!

***Oooh, look what I found!!! The first working chapter of Continental Beginnings, a prequel from Zander's POV! I never read teasers, but I couldn't stop myself....http://www.goodreads.com/author_blog_...

This is DESSERT not Breakfast!!!!!

I normally don’t do novellas, but since I love Ella’s stories so much I decided to give it a try. OMG! I am sooooooo glad I picked this up!!!!!! After finishing Ella’s Art of D/s series I was seriously struggling for something to read next. This was the perfect choice to follow up such a great series. This was like dessert after having had the best meal ever with the Art of D/s.

Yes, it’s short (novellas are), but it was just enough time to get the whole story and fall in love with the characters. Nothing was missing and the story wasn’t rushed at all. I loved this story! Did it leave me wanting more? HELL YES it did. I loved these characters. I want more more more of these two.

Once again Ella masters making you feel what the characters experience. I was able to feel Bella’s hurt and disappointment, but most of all her strong feelings toward Mr. Pettifor. I found myself turning the pages so fast because I couldn’t wait to find out how the “misunderstandings” would play out.

These characters are so wonderful I would have loved this to be a full length novel. I want to know about the time between when Bella was hired and what ultimately happens in Continental Breakfast. Plus, I think Ella spoiled me with the dual POVs in the Art of D/s series so of course I’d love to have that with Bella and Mr. Pettifor.

Ella has created another pager-turner with endearing characters!

PICK THIS UP! YOU WON’T BE DISAPPOINTED!

I really liked the idea of Continental Breakfast, but the actual story didn't quite work for me. The very first page is just an emotionless info-dump about Ms. Darcy's relationship with Mr. Pettifor. Basically, she's his secretary, but he does more than schedule meetings and fetch his lunch. In fact, some days, she is his lunch, but mostly they stick to breakfast. Then she decides to quit, when she realizes that she's meeting his needs, but he's not meeting hers. It's time for her to move on with her life. I really like this angle: instead of falling for the controlling CEO, she's leaving him!

Sadly, Continental Breakfast is a lot of telling rather than showing. And the dialogue is super stiff and awkward. I can understand Ms. Darcy speaking more formally in the office and at functions with Mr. Pettifor, but even when she's having girl talk with her replacement, she sounds so robotic. There is a nice love story here, but I couldn't feel it. I was just told that she's in love with him. I was told that she wants to pursue her dreams. He (eventually) tells her how he really feels. It kind of read more like a concept rather than a developed story.
