Jade was rejected by her mate. She left and went on to put her dreams into play. She works for wildlife rehabilitation healing broken creatures.. Seven years after the fact she starts to experience fevers. She goes back to the pack.
Kaine is alpha and has started an affair years before with Sarah, who has set it up for the scouts to report to her and has the council's approval. He can't alienate them. But his wolf badgers him about Jade.
Sarah decides to talk Kaine into bringing back the Lupercalia. He agrees then is shocked that she wants to also bring back the whipping of unmated females. Sarah has it in mind to get Jade to be the victim. She has her put in a cell the night before. Only The Wolfman appears and saves her. When Jade wakes up she finds herself in a home she doesn't recognize but does recognize the Wolfman. Elder Rose has discribed him vividly. Now he's keeping her here.
When it's learned that Jade is gone the pack goes out to investigate and come across tracks that Elder Rose tells them belong to the Wolfman.
As the search begins Kaine is wondering about the lack of his communication with the pack. Elder Rose eventually hands him a small book and when he reads it he comes to discover it;s his father's writing. Not only that but the marks of an alpha and beta are not what he has seen. Why couldn't his father have told him the information. Meanwhile Jade is with the Wolfman and learning about him. She also learns what the whipping during the Lupercalia is actually to represent.
Elder Rose knows who the Wolfman is...and the Wolfman feels that Jade is his mate.
The secrets of the pack is so convoluted that it will take a miracle to unwrap. Who actually is the Wolfman? And what is his role with Jade and Kaine?

Seven years ago, Jade and Kaine, of the Silvercrest Pack, were in love and planning their future. Imagine Jade's shock when, without any warning and in front of the entire pack, Kaine announced, "I reject this claim." The shock and humiliation left Jadelyn Collins with no choice but to flee. She planned to never return, but now she has developed physical symptoms that are impacting her life negatively. She needs answers and is desperate for help; she feels that she has no choice but to return to the pack. She hopes to sneak in, see Elder Rose for help and then leave before anyone knows she is there. Deep down, she knows the chances of that are slim, but she needs help. So, she hopes she will run into Kaine on her own terms, when she is ready to handle the face to face encounter. However, she is right, Kaine knows almost immediately that Jade has returned....as does the pack. Though Jade was the one wronged, she is the one blamed, hated and looked down upon....all because the Alpha, Kaine, rejected her. Now the Alpha has a new relationship, Sarah, a jealous, power hungry, spiteful, controlling, nasty, narcissistic excuse of a human being/wolf shifter. Sarah makes it her goal in life to ruin Sarah.
A great read with lots of drama, suspense, and surprises. I really enjoyed this book with all it's twists and turns . It will leave you very satisfied with the story, the plot and the finale.

This is the 2nd book I have read by this author and I thoroughly enjoyed it. The characters are relatable. Showing tensions and deceit but ultimately the bond between an Alpha and Luna is unbreakable.
Jade who was rejected by her childhood sweetheart, left and made her way in the human world. But when she takes poorly, she needs to find out what is wrong with her, she needs to go back to her pack and see Elder Rose. Can she be in and out of the pack lands before her rejected mate Kaine sees her? But when she arrives, she can't believe how weakened the pack bonds have become since Kaine became Alpha.
Sarah, Kaine's assistant seems to be taking more and more liberties when addressing him. He senses something is off with Sarah, but Sarah has plans for Jade, and she is determined to follow them through.
Tensions run high, something is not right within the pack. Can a tale handed down through the generations be true? Have there been lies and cover-ups by the previous Alpha? Jade is front and centre, she may not want pack life but fate may have other ideas for her.

Going back to her Pack throws her into the machinations of others and she is too confused by her physical pain to realize what is going on. Fortunately her savior in all things won’t let her down.
A story how far some people will go to twist reality to their own purpose, not caring what that means for others who will be effected negatively without being able to change anything about it.

Forced to return home to the Silvercrest Pack to find out what is wrong with her seven years after she was rejected by the Alpha, was not going to be easy for Jade. Hoping to be able to get in, see Elder Rose, and get out back to Seattle was her plan, but all did not go well and she found herself being manipulated by the Alpha's lover and in a cell. When she is rescued by what should be a myth, secrets and lies are uncovered that will shake the foundation of the pack and those within it. An amazing tale that will keep you turning the pages. With lots of drama and a great storyline, I had to read this in one sitting.

Oh my. What a wonderful story this is in the Monster Sweetheart Series. It grabbed my attention from the first page. And didn't let go until the end. So much chaos caused by the former Alpha of the Silvercrest pack with his secrets and lies. Confusing everyone and weakening the pack. This is a must read everyone. You will feel the heartbreak and then your heart will be filled with so much love and joy it's almost overwhelming. These two authors have written an incredible story. I highly recommend this book.

Jade is pulled back home, not recognizing the withered bonds of the pack as her sickness worsens. Her supposed mate rejection and Kaine flaunting his lover with power drive a further wedge between bonds. Caged and set to be whipped cause fate to intervene in the form of the wolf a which really ramped up this story. It was intriguing and full of lore that added to the mystery. This was very entertaining to read.

This is another great read that really had me hooked, beginning to end. This is a rejected mates romance with so much drama, twists and suspense, I couldn't imagine how things would work out for Jade. I was rooting hard, though, and am thrilled that the secrets and lies get revealed. It really was shocking to see a pack with such weakened bonds :( Thankfully, fate had a plan and a wonderful and steamy HEA will come to pass. So good and I definitely recommend :D

When she ends up becoming ill, she knows she has to go back to her pack to find out what is happening to her. Eventually, Jade ends up meeting the “wolfman” whispered about by the pack. What a great story of love and monsters!

This story hit me a little different than from the others. This one was, to me, more of a second chance type thing, although it really wasn't wanted (the second chance). Of course, there's a total *itch who is jealous and wants to basically ruin Jade's life or kill her. The Wolfman saves the day and a whole bunch of new issues come up with Jade. Very good storyline, love "The Wolfman" and Jade together.

I seriously thought that I would be giving this a low rating. Because I thought that Jade was heading towards getting back with Kaine. And after seeing how spineless he was with Sarah I just like him very much. But then the Wolfman aka Asher enters the picture. I absolutely fell in love with Asher and I love him with Jade. This turned out to be a really really good read.

Don't let this absolutely awful cover scare you away! If you are a lover of werewolf/shifter romance books, you'll really enjoy this one! I read it in one day and the story moved forward at a good pace. There were elements of mystery, action, and of course, the mating bond.
I do think it's funny that an insta-love situation in the form of a mating bond/supernatural elements don't bother me, but when it's in a realistic fiction romance I absolutely can't buy into it 😂

An interesting tale. It features Jade, forced to return to her pack when her heat hits. She's saved from being rejected by her pack, by one who sits on the boundary outside of her pack. It is when they are alone that they can truly come together. An enjoyable read. :D

This is a great story about how Jade returns to her pack and has to see her old flame.
One thing I love about Lexi’s books is the twists. They don’t always end as you expect. I won’t say anything else, except that I enjoyed this book and I advise for you to read it as well!

ok for what it is
This book has a decent storyline in the end, but there is a lot of fragmentation, not much good flow and several contradicting details throughout. If you can overlook all that it’s a decent story.
