About the author

Penny Jackson is the award winning author of Becoming The Butlers, a novel, and L.A. Child, a collection of short stories. Becoming The Butlers was chosen as one of the best books of the year for young adults by The New York Public Library and optioned for film by Warner Brothers Studio. L.A. Child won a Pushcart Prize for one of the best stories published in a literary magazine. Penny's stories have appeared in The Edinburgh Review, The Ontario Review, StoryQuarterly, Real Fiction, and magazines in Ireland and England. Currently she is writing her novel, All Alices, based on a short story.
Penny is also a playwright. Her play, Safe, was recently produced in New York City and at The Edinburgh Fringe Festival.
Her other awards include a MacDowell Colony Fellowship, the Elizabeth Janeway Prize for fiction, and best one act play from Barnard College.
Penny lives in New York City with her husband and daughter.

Who needs a Christmas list when the gift comes with a plot twist?🎄

Short, spicy, and fun, exactly what I want from a Christmas short.
The best line in the book involves a certain Christmas tree, and I’ll let you find it yourself. 😏

Good book for people who like to read about watching, and/or being watched.
Liked the realness of the relationship during discussing if this could be possible.

Molly and David have been together a while he has been her only partner he was discussing proposing with his best friend Johnny and they were discussing whether or not he needed to give Molly a pass to be with someone else before he actually asked so she could be sure he is really what she wanted. This led to a lingerie set, new heels and a well timed visitor showing up at their door while her boyfriend sat and watched.
