Jack always wanted to wield magic. His dreams were fulfilled when he absorbed a dungeon core and became a living, walking dungeon.
After a battle with the core of the warlock's tower, Jack and Melinda turn their attention to growing stronger. With the warlock Lachlan Woe to teach them, and the support of Ivan the goblin butler, it seems their path could only go upward.
When rumors of hunters reach their ears, their lives take a turn. These hunters could prove the breaking of Jack and his friends. Thankfully, Jack is a walking dungeon, and there are other dungeons in the outside world with whom he shares a bond.
If these dungeons could be awakened…
Join Jack and the occupants of the warlock's tower for a second adventure that promises to rival their first.
I really enjoyed where Jack is developing along his path. I’m a little surprised that he didn’t think of draining the mana from his foe, and I’m not entirely sure what he did in its stead.
It’s pretty clear that the powers in Nightvale have turned to something else, and nothing called “The Devourer” can be expected to be good for anyone. Might they have switched their allegiance even before the war, and have framed Azhoth for something he didn’t do?
Why has the aetherborn returned now? How will re-establishing the golden portal network help them against whatever is coming? And how will Jack find the means to keep his promise?
I enjoyed the sequel to Mage's Path 1. The plot was good with interesting side plots and waz well written. It did seem to bee a bit unfocused in a couple of spots with little reliance on foreshadowing. If there is a third book, I would enjoy helping with the proofreading. The biggest errors were, of all things, errors on pronouns. That is being a bit picky, but it does detract from the story if spelling or sentence structure are in error. If not for that, I would have given another star. 😁. Thanks for the sequel and I'm looking for another in this series.
The plot and story are so interesting!......but...and this author has a habit of this.... D.B.King has WONDERFUL ideas and there's really nothing fundamentally wrong with the MCs.....but somehow the MCs all turn into Mary-sues....or like....after awhile everything just seems .....flat.... between plot armor and unrealistic dialogue .... the series started really strong and i couldn't finish this one. or about three other ones from this author for the same reasons.....
....
WHICH IS SUCH A SHAME!!!! the authors ideas are such good ones, he just needs a bit of work on the follow through!!
I really enjoyed reading books 1 & 2 because of the development of the character and the plot is something new. Each chapter will you bring the readers to the great height and exciting adventure. I wish it didn’t end too soon or book 3 should be out already. I recommend this book for those who like to read fun and exciting adventure. You will not be disappoint.
The story is written well and is easy to follow along with. It espouses honesty and fair play, being kind and open to each other. It is a fine book for young people to encourage them along the paths of right and wrong. Hey censors, does this fit your "community guidelines"? I feel that only allowing words that you like, restricts knowledge.
This was an excellent follow up to the first Mage's Path. The story was set at a nice and steady pace to listen to and that there's plenty of problems to go around solving. Also, I like the fact that the action intensifies in the beginning of the book rather than the end. Other than that, happy writing and I'm excited to see what's in store for the next Mage's Path.
Loved the book and the adventures within. The story just draws reader in further and I am anxious for more. Some interesting twists here so looking forward to lots of future excitement. Can't wait!
i enjoyed this DB King book along with his others... i seem to read about the same speed that he seems to write them... a few typos but i breezed right over them... lets keep this going... looking forward to the next in the series. i am picking up more of this authors books and enjoying them.
By the end of book two made me really excited to read book three. This series is pretty damn good, it has many plots, and excellent story lines. Can't wait for next book.
In my opinion one of the most intriguing dungeon themed books I've ever read. I have never really had a liking to dungeon type books but this one had me hooked
This second book in the series is just as good as the first. Interesting things are afoot, and it looks like all is on track to be solved by the end of the third book, which I definitely intend to read. I like this story, and I suspect most fantasy fans will too.
Great book I really enjoyed the first two books and I would recommend them to anyone. It really takes you throughout the scenes as you travel through the lands
As a reader of fantasy for more than fifty years I say this is one of the best I have read for more than twenty years. Eagerly awaiting next in series.
