A Lair of Bones, book
A deadly contest. A vaulting ambition. How far will one cyren go to win?
Mighty cyrens have ruled the ancient lair of Saddoriel for centuries. A cavernous fortress, a subterranean labyrinth of tunnels and levels, powered by magic and music…
From the moment she was born, Roh, the daughter of an infamous criminal, has been despised by her own kind. Restricted to the lower sector and forced to work as a common bone cleaner, she has always believed she belongs above, where lies adventure… and power.
Opportunity arises in the form of the Queen's Tournament, a treacherous set of trials that could see the victor crowned ruler of the entire lair. Up against the most cunning, dangerous cyrens in all the realms, does Roh stand a chance?
With Dagger and Song, book
An empty crown. A perilous journey. Will she answer when darkness calls?
Against all odds, Roh survived the harrowing Queen's Tournament, but now something far deadlier awaits a formidable quest for the three magic birthstones of Saddoriel. The gems have been scattered across the realms—and only when Roh retrieves them can she take her place as queen. But surrounded by hostile companions and tormented by the dangerous secret she carries, Roh begins to realize that the pursuit of power may prove more destructive than she ever imagined.
Nothing can prepare her for the nightmares that fester in the shadows of Akoris, a fanatical cyren territory, or the twisted games of its cunning leader... Can Roh win the first birthstone without sacrificing everything she holds dear—and without losing herself?
The Fabric of Chaos, book
An almighty power. A deadly choice. Will she come undone when chaos reigns?
After facing heartbreaking betrayals and jaw-dropping revelations in Akoris, Roh must steel herself once more and continue her quest to win the cyren throne.
But with poison lingering in her body and a new, unpredictable companion at her side, the trek to the mysterious territory of Csilla becomes all the more perilous. Dangerous schemes are afoot, ones that threaten not only the homeland Roh intends to rule but all of cyrenkind.
As her journey stretches across the realm, Roh must navigate the dark web of her own ambition and master her newfound magic.
Will she triumph against the trials ahead—or sow the seeds of her own destruction?
To Wield a Crown, book
A final quest. A people divided. Can one cyren turn the tides of fate?
The time has come to obtain the final birthstone of Saddoriel. Reeling from a near-deadly sacrifice, Roh must rally all her strength if she is to take her place on the throne.
But with cyrenkind divided and enemies closing in, the road to Lochloria and beyond is more dangerous than ever. An ancient prophecy looms, loyalties are tested, and Roh races against the clock that threatens to undo all she's fought for.
As a centuries-long conflict comes to a head and forces of nature collide, Roh has to decide if there is more than one kind of magic in this world and whether or not she has the power to harness it.
Some bonds will solidify, while others will be fractured forever—but all must take up their swords and face the final battle for a better Saddoriel.
Will Roh emerge from the perils victorious, or will the trials claim her at last?

I have yet to read a book from this woman that hasn’t put me through the gauntlet of emotions. I love every minute of them, for the most part haha. I hated Rohesia so much in the first book that I considered putting this series to the side and not reading it. I should’ve known better. I’ve spent the last few hours crying, laughing and gasping at the ending of this series. If you love magic, slow burn romance, fierce characters of all genders, battles that make you get up and pace while you read to help with the anxiety then Helen Scheuerer’s work is for you. Do not miss this exceptional author.
A lair of bones 3.25 stars ⭐️⭐️⭐️✨ This one didn’t quite hit the mark with me. I think because of the exceptionally high standard of other books that I’ve read by this author. It’s a good read, it’s enjoyable, I t’s got some great world building but it didn’t make me want to reach for the next book within three seconds.
With dagger and song 4.25 stars ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️✨ I’m starting to wonder if it is possible for Helen to write a bad book. This is a delight and a wonderful read.
Fabric of chaos 2.75 stars ⭐️⭐️✨ This felt like the book that did all of the set up for something great to happen but the entire book was set up for something great to happen. It just felt like nothing made me want to read it. It existed and it was fine and I’m sure the next book will be great, but this one was flat.
To wield a crown 4.5 stars ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️✨ This was a good ending to the story, it’s a decent series (I love the others more) and I’m glad I read them all. I would be curious to read a spin off of this series.
This series completely wrecked me. I truly loved everything about it. I’m not quite sure how Helen Scheuerer can write such beautiful and powerful stories in each book she writes, but it’s exactly what she consistently does and this series is no exception. Truly phenomenal! I felt every possible emotion as we journeyed with Roh and Fin, and I found my heart tethered to theirs along the way. I sit here wrecked as I just finished the final pages of this beautiful story and my heart is full but wishing I could stay in their world for longer. I will keep this story with me for a very long time. It was truly beautiful and I wholeheartedly recommend this series!
I can’t even begin to say how much I have loved this series. It just made my top three maybe taking the first spot. Everything about these books is so beautiful and well thought out. I love the story of Rohesia, her friendships and the sisterhood she builds. I love that it was so unique too. These books deserve a cult following, I’m series. Spoiler ahead. I was sad that the main character friend passed away. He deserved to make it to the end. It was beautiful all the same.
This is one heck of an introduction to a new author. I am in love with Ro and the gang. So incredibly told and super addictive and filled with action and danger around every corner. I cried, I loved, I admired and I thoroughly enjoyed all the characters. I can’t wait to dive into more books by Helen.
This is the conclusion the the Cheek Queen series.. No spoilers. It put a nice finishing wrap on a complex story. The bad guys got revealed ostracized and punished. The folks with good intentions were recognized for their Many sacrifices.. Leave the world better than you found it!
This bundle was the perfect read. I loved being able to just keep going, because you need to. The challenges Rho and her friends go through are heartbreakingly beautiful. This story was amazing, it will break your heart and put it back again.
Such a great story! I loved all the adventures and relationship building within the books. So many ups and downs and twists and turns, it was brilliant! I had a lot of emotions throughout, but especially in this last book. 😭 Very worthy of 5 stars!!
I bought this set during a sale Audible was having, I wasn't really expecting much since I'd never heard of the series before. Never again will I underestimate unpopular series! This is hands down the best slept on book series and I really don't know why. I loved everything about it, the world building, the characters and their growth throughout the novels, the plot. It was all good!! It's one of the few that will be shelved on my re-read worthy list.
I wasn’t sure if I was going to like this series but it keep me on edge and the relationships that were built had me sobbing by the end of the book, Excellent series.
Loved the characters and their development. I never felt like the story dragged. I would be interested in a prequel and a sequel. I’m definitely going to follow the author.
If you want a gripping, engaging read, this may be the one. One or more of the characters will speak to you. Personally, I felt every emotion while listening to this story.
