The Soldiers of Anarchy #5

The Thief: The Soldiers of Anarchy, Book 5

Rate this book
Five… minutes. That's how long I was supposed to be there. Get in, get out. Job done.

Four… guns pointed at my head. It wasn't supposed to go down this way.

Three… years old, and she clung to her mum as we sat huddled together on the floor, chained to the pipes on the wall.

Two… choices, when my time finally came. To let it all play out or fight with everything I had.

One… split second that changed the course of my life… forever.

My name is Tyler Evans. They call me The Thief. But on that day, the last thing I expected to become was the hostage.

The Thief is a dark standalone romance set in the Soldiers of Anarchy world. You do not need to listen to the other books in the series to enjoy this story. For mature listeners.

This one did hit some feels!! Some moments were so cute I did shed a tear or two.

Tyler and Ava met ages ago when she accused him of stealing from her father (which he did but felt bad and gave it back). That's how Tyler met the gang and because the soldiers They got off to a eh spot now years later they meet again at a bank and he doesn't remember her but she sure remembers him and feels alittle ashamed how she acted. Plus, her daughter really likes talking to him. That's when things turn for worse when a robbery happens.

Few deaths and drama during that robbery and them growing closer. But also, the guys are getting revenge for what happened at the bank. You don't Traumatize a kid or the guys family and get away with it. And that's what
The guys do. With that, Tyler and Jess grow close with Ava as a family it's cute. It's different for them. And I love the family moments with all 3. The spice was low for me. Which was okay because it has some good plot.
Also, Tyler and Ava were so cute.. I love when guys can be so cute with kids. And poor Lil ava had some trauma with that bank robbery.

I'm also like?? With the ending with the friend. But that's another day and story.

Tiny angst, no ow/om drama, no cheating, slight secondary character, drama, sexy times, no virgins

The Thief is the last book in The Soldiers Of Anarchy. The author ended it with a bang. I finished the book over a week ago and can’t stop thinking about it. But this is not goodbye; it’s until I reread you.

Tyler and Jess reunite most peculiarly. This time, Jess is a single mom to the cutest little girl who will steal your heart. Tyler feels an instant need to protect his girls and seek revenge.

Words alone can’t articulate how I feel about this book. I was sucked in and couldn’t put it down. The character and world-building are unique and detailed, with nothing left out. I felt all their emotions. It was a fantastic journey. The spice is extra nice.

There is not one book in this series that I don't love.

Nikki, Nikki, Nikki, BRAVO!!! What a phenomenal way to wrap up one of my absolute favourite series! I’m so sad to have come to the end, but I’m also so happy with the Soldiers journeys.
I’m not going to leave spoilers, I’ll just say that the character growth is amazing. The plot is amazing. Had me at ‘dad’ trope. I loved the spice, the exchanges, how they met, how it played out, how the story unfolded… I could go on and on.
Tyler… your story was worth the wait. PERFECTION!!
Five stars!

Excuse me while I go cry. Why? Because this is the end of the journey for the Soldiers of Anarchy. I have absolutely loved this series, these characters, and each plot. This book was the perfect way to end this series. Tyler was not what I expected and I am glad he wasn't. That man was everything I didn't know I needed. Then add in Jess with little Ava and your heart just melts. I loved Jess and Tyler but honestly, I loved that little girl even more. This trio was truly a wonderful mix. I just can't say enough about this book or even this series. Nikki, you hit this one out of the park.

Great conclusion to the series!

The Thief is the 5th book in the Soldiers of Anarchy series and I feel like Nikki definitely saved the best for last! There was not one thing I didn't love about this book ❤. Definitely a swoon worthy hero that was all in right from the beginning. Loved his interactions with her daughter - totally brought a smile to my face. Honestly, this read more like a sweet romance, but with dark elements and I was totally here for it! Loved how the series wrapped up for all the characters and I can't wait to see where Nikki takes us next.

I love how Nikki J. Summers places tidbits from the other books for long-term readers of The Soldiers of Anachary Series. Though a standalone, I enjoyed the overlapping stories, hints, easter eggs, and tie-ins—this brings even more excitement to an already great story for me.

Tyler, the expert hacker and thief, meets single mom Jess and her 3-year-old daughter in an unusual and dangerous setting. “The Thief” is a bit of a slow-burn romance but is not short on the page-turning action that I’ve grown to love in all of Nikki J. Summer’s books. Tyler is charming to both Jess and her daughter. The build-up to his relationship with Jess does have spice, and he is pretty patient.

”The Thief” was chock full of everything I look for in a story, and I loved it from the beginning. And like the last book, I can’t wait until the next one!

Well, Nikki definitely left the best until last 💙 Tyler and Jess are absolutely perfect, and Ava is the icing on the cake in the story!

This book had me hooked from the very first page. It had everything we know and love from the soldiers of anarchy. Tyler is the sweetest mmc ever. From the second he meets Jess and Ava, he is so protective of them.

This book brought all the spice. Damn Tayler and Jess are HOT. Just wait till you read about them in the viewing room...... IYKYK!!

This was the perfect ending to the series, and I am so exc to see what Nikki brings us next.

Every time I read a book from the soldiers of anarchy series I think, “this is the best book in this series” and then I read the next book and somehow this author gives me a ‘hold my beer’ moment … and I am once again left in awe at how beautiful this series has been.

In The Thief, our beloved thief/hacker/bad boy with a good head on his shoulders finally gets his moment with Jess, a single mom of a three-year-old spitfire named Ava. The found family within this series, but this book in particular, was everything my heart needed.

As with many books by this author, come for the plot, but stay for that spice because when it hits … your knees will be weak!

This was beautiful, heartbreaking and heartwarming all at once. If I could give this 500 stars, I would.

***4,5 "Fateful!!!" stars***

"I had to walk through a nightmare to get to you. And I'd walk through another if I had to."

This series ended with a bang and I am waiting impatiently to see what Nikki will serve us next!!!
I was intrigued by the Soldiers of Anarchy long before we got the first book, but Nikki took it to extreme with each story that she delivered in their crazy world...
This time was Tyler's turn, known as the Thief, and his story was different and very intriguing...
I loved the idea and I loved the execution!!!
Tyler had found the love of his life under weird circumstances, but that experience bound them together for good!!!

"She felt like... mine."

Tyler was supposed to get into the bank for five minutes, but it turned out a disaster!!!
Alongside him a girl he used to know with her sweet daughter, a little girl that was speaking to his soul... and then everything went to hell!!!
They have lived a nightmare inside this bank, but this nightmare bound them together for good...
Now, Tyler will fight for his family no matter what it takes him and he won't rest if he won't take revenge from the culpables of the atrocities that took place that fateful day!!!

"They were the reason I was doing this. The reason all of this made sense. They were... everything."

I loved Tyler very much... Each book is a revelation about these soldiers!!!
When I met them back in 'Fractured Souls', I though they were savages that were thriving in chaos and bloodshed... Yes, that not entirely wrong, but now, I understand them and their cause better!
Will was an amazing person, and his connection with little Ava was so adorable!!!!
And Jess, his girl, was an amazing creature... The perfect match to calm the storm inside of him!!!

"I don't have a daddy, but I have a Tyler."

These five soldiers and their girls had given us so many great adventures and I am kind of sad that their era had come to an end...
Each one of them was a unique creature and I loved them all so much!!!
And now I am anticipating the next book by Nikki J. Summer's pen!!! I am wondering what it will be...

"The bond we share won't break. It doesn't matter where we are, we'll always be there for each other."

Wowww, wow, wow!!! I absolutely am in love with the story, even with the absolutely terrifying, nerve-racking moments and Finally••• Tyler’s story, that always had me soooo curious?!! I definitely have such an affinity for all these characters and they’re morally gray ways, but absolutely exactly what was needed and I love each and Everyone of them even if they are kind of a whole lotta crazy, (not to mention any names in particular, although one is a type of a baby horse and that’s just a hint.lol)
This Jess… That we meet, I love getting to know her from the beginning of this series And how she turns out even with the things that life throws at her and The fact that you may think you know somebody, but you have may have completely read someone/ misunderstood them!!!
This whole storyline from beginning to end. And how things came together (and yes, how I couldn’t help but cry because …”Are You Kidding Me???) Yessss, Admittedly I’m still blubbering. Gawddd talk about pulling on my heartstrings, and now my eyes won’t stop leaking!!! I Freaking love each of their storylines and This entire series “The Soldiers of Anarchy”… has been mind blowing Lee astounding! It was beyond what I ever could have hoped for!!
There were so many twists and different aspects that I was definitely not expecting from these characters and how their lives turned out the way they did what any of them had come from or live through it just shows you never really know a person, until you take the blinders off and get to know the person. And that requires strength on your part without having an open mind!!
I really didn’t understand who or why they were the way they were !!! WELL OTHER THAN EXTREMELY HOTTTTT AF!!!!
THIS IS EVERYTHING YOU COULD EVER HOPE FOR IN A DARK VIGILANTE, ROMANTIC SERIES !!!!
It was just breathtaking, unnerving with a lot of psychotic, unbelievable times… and each and every book is unique and yet comes together like you can’t even imagine it’s just been absolutely mesmerizing to read and live through !!!!!

“THE THIEF” NIKKI J. SUMMERS ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️/5 🌶️🌶️🌶️/5

What an incredible way to conclude one of my most beloved series! It's bittersweet to reach the end, but I am truly satisfied with the characters' journeys. This series features a slow-burn romance entwined with hostages and a botched bank heist. In "The Thief," Tyler, a thief/hacker, who also has a good heart, finally finds his match in Jess, a single mother to a spirited three-year-old named Ava. The sense of family portrayed in the series, particularly in this book, fulfilled my heart's desires. The anticipation for Tyler and Jess to ignite their chemistry was worth it, and when they did, it was sizzling. However, it was Tyler's bond with Ava that truly warmed my heart.

Things to know

Scenes of adolescent bullying, Explicitly detailed torture scenes (by vigilantes), Hostage taking (bank robbery), Forced imprisonment Attempted sexual assault. No assault actually takes place, but some of the wording used to threaten it may cause distress. Murder Violence Gore Scenes of a sexual nature (between the hero and heroine) Voyeurism Depiction of group sex (Not between the main characters) Committing sex acts in public Edging Anal play Praise/mild degradation Thoughts of suicide and a suicide note (but no suicide takes place) Child abduction (No harm comes to the child)

This review contains spoilers.

I received an ARC for an honest review.

I don't know where to start with this. I finished this a few days ago and I have not stopped thinking about this book. I'm not kidding when I say I literally had a dream about the soldiers. If only I could remember the details of the dream lol.

I'm such a Nikki J Summers fan. She's such a talented author. The writing flows easily, the story is great and her characters are always amazing. This is no different.

I thought making the bank robbery such a long part of the story was a great move. I was kinda expecting it to be like 3 chapters but I was really pleasantly surprised. I loved how we got to see Tyler fall in love not just with Jess but with Ava too.

This is the final Soldiers of Anarchy book and I loved how it ended. Each soldier got their girl and the happy ever after. It was the perfect ending even if it was really bittersweet. And of course Adam continues to pull at my heart strings. He's such a scene stealer.

I had such a crush on Number 1. That's what Nikki J Summers does, she writes these side characters that completely steal the show. I was really sad when he died. I wanted Number 1 and the Taskmaster to get their own books.

And of course we are now at 9 as in 9 consecutive 5 star ratings.

Tyler & Jess

I can’t believe that this series has come to an end but it was such a great ending. Finally Tyler’s story and we get to know his start in the Soldiers. He was always the quiet one in the other books and I loved how this man just fell so hard so fast. Seeing his and Jess’s connection when they were younger made the whole mess they find themselves in so much sweeter.

Jess is a single mom just trying to get through the days and find herself a part of a bank robbery as a hostage alongside her daughter and someone she never thought she’d see again, Tyler. They immediately latch onto one another just to get through it and that was a whole mess of a heist but brought our two together.

Overall their love was so sweet and tender while they coped with trauma and taking their relationship slow. Once they did get physically, holy smokes. Tyler is a total daddy vibe and I loved it.

Ava might’ve been my favorite of the whole story. She is this sassy 3 year old who has the funniest moments and some that are so sweet. Absolutely adorable and I’m so happy they all go their HEA ad a family.

OhhhMyyyGawdddd… Wow Nikki,
Talk about an incredible, at times extremely nerve-racking, and psychotic yet beautiful, and unexpected with such loyalty and a commitment that will never die! I completely was wondering if anything was gonna happen with a certain somebody and I had that nice little shock at the end! it’s up made me think like OK if she surprises with like another one to like actually you know tell us how shizz goes down. She gonna leave it to our own imaginations?!?🧐.
Regardless, this was such a tearjerker, talk about I only pulling, but ripping out my heartstrings… But I would never want any other kind of outcome because every part of this story these characters is just outstanding and completely mesmerizing! Let me save this my favorite series like 100% ! Nikki, you crushed it!!!!!!

Tyler is a man who has made mistakes in the past, but he has turned his life around and is now a protector rather than a perpetrator. When he finds himself in a bank when it is being robbed his only concern the safety of Jess and her daughter Ava and ensuring that those that are responsible are held accountable.

What was supposed to be a simple errand for Jess and her daughter Ava has taken a dangerous turn. She and Tyler have a past so all she wants is to ensure the three emerge from this situation unscathed and it starts with ensuring that Tyler doesn’t do anything reckless but that is only the beginning.

Even though the situation that Tyler and Jess find themselves in isn’t ideal it also shows that they are meant to be together. Not only are Tyler and Jess great characters but Ava is a scene stealer as well. It also gives us a chance to catch up with the other characters that we have come to know and love from this series.

This freaking book, yall. 🫠😭🖤

“I don’t have a daddy, but I have a Tyler,” she said, and if I could have given her the world in that moment, I would have.

I fucking loved it, while I’m sad to say goodbye to these men, this world, the f ending is perfect, what a way to end it on a BANG!

My chaotic thoughts are full of love and tears, and I’m not sure I want to say my last hoorah.

Tyler and Jess = had the most beautiful, emotional; and poignant story, I’d say.
Add in little Ava and my soul is full.

This is a 10/10 recommend from me.

And because I’m a slut for smut.. 🥵

I think it might be my favourite of the series 🤭

Tyler is absolute perfection. His relationship with both Jess and Ava was lovely. He was so sweet with Ava, it was adorable.
The whole story had me gripped from start to finish. Their relationship, the drama, the love and of course, the spice, were all brilliant.

You know how they say don’t cry because it’s over? Or whatever the saying is. Well, I cried because it happened, I cried because it’s over. Im just not ready for this series to end. Nikki could write about these men and their ladies forever in my opinion. I love them so much!!

Tyler, man if what a sweetheart turned out to be. I love the relationship between him and Jess. But, the relationship between him and Ava stole the show and my heart.

What a way to wrap up an absolutely awesome series. Once again Nikki proves why she is an auto buy author.

Just read it!!!

The ending for the Solider’s of Anarchy series couldn’t have been more perfect. It’s bittersweet to say goodbye to my favorite solider’s.

Tyler & Jess’s story spanned over 14years and was definitely fate, soulmates in the making type of a story. I couldn’t put this book down, it drew me in and kept me wondering what would happen next. In true Nikki fashion, lots of suspense and some gore!

The epilogues had me in tears. We got to see a very special moment and then got everyone together to day goodbye. Utter perfection.

It’s funny how in other stories Tyler comes across as a totally different character. He fades into the background, other voices are louder and stronger. But in this book, Tyler is up front and totally the main character.

If you’re new to the series, it’s totally fine to start here, each book stands on its own, and no need to read any of the previous books. But I can assure you like many of her other fans, you don’t want to miss any of the other stories, and after reading this, you’ll probably want to know how the rest of the soldiers meet their women. 😉

So if you’re new, here’s a quick rundown….
The Soldiers of Anarchy are young men who formed a vigilante group, they had a clear vision of what they wanted to do….. Keep the people of Brinton Manor safe from low life scum who would take advantage of them. People knew where to go, and who to talk to if they needed help. They are always one step ahead of the police, and they are careful never to leave any evidence to tie them to anything suspicious.

I loved how we got to meet young Tyler before he became a loyal brother and soldier. He wasn’t a nice teen, he stole, he lied and he didn’t give a damn about other people…. Not until he meets and witnesses the soldiers brand of justice! Slowly Tyler learns that it’s better to help others, it gave him a sense of purpose.
We also get to meet the love of his life at an early age. But it’s more dislike at first sight rather than love 😆

Jess definitely knew of the young lout Tyler. He’s rude/loud and a thief. She makes it clear that he’s scum and will always be scum. But Jess didn’t have all the facts, and Tyler wasn’t going to put her straight.

Moving to the present day, and Tyler is in the bank minding his own business chatting to a cute mum and daughter. When the unthinkable happens….A bank robbery!!

Tyler thinks of nothing but protecting the cute daughter and mum. Placing himself front and Center, he’s going to do everything he can to take on the robbers! It’s only when the mum starts to protest and ask him to be calm, he realises he’s going to do as she asks. He’s fallen for this cute duo and now it’s all he can think of!!

Jess can’t believe she’s in the queue with Tyler! He doesn’t recognise her, but she sure remembers him, she also remembers how she treated him and all the unkind words she said. But before she can jog his memory, the bank is being held up by masked men!! Her priority is keeping her daughter safe!! She doesn’t need a hero getting himself 💀!!

We spend a fair amount of time in the bank. They really aren’t nice guys, shooting because they can. Making horrible threats and even carrying a few out! And when one of the gang member wants to assault Jess, Tyler just about loses it. Making himself a target to keep Jess safe, is going to get him 💀!!

Revenge and finding out who the bank robbers are, has Tyler scouring the manor. Someone has to know who they are. And he’s not above using violence to get their names. His brothers in arms are willing to help Tyler in anyway he needs. If one needs help then they pull together and get it done.

This is the last book in the series. And it’s sad to say goodbye to Brinton Manor and the soldiers. But the good news is we get to have a book full of previous characters.
There are triggers in the book, please read the warning the author gives you.

I’m sad to see the boys go. But I’m happy that they all get a HEA 💜💜💜

A highly recommended read. Grab the book, grab the series, then grab the spin off series (Sandland

The Thief by Nikki J Summers is the fifth and final book in the Soldiers of Anarchy series which follows a group of vigilantes who right the wrongs and serve the justice they desire on those who deserve it in Brinton Manor. This book follows the life and love of Tyler Evans and Jessica Porter and the perilous situation that throws them together once again, 14 years after they first met.

As with all the books in the series, we meet the Tyler as a child around 14 years old and how he comes to meet the other Soldiers at the Pupil Referral Unit and all of them have a horrible home life but it’s what bonds them to form their own family and brotherhood.

On his first day, he is reprimanded by Adam for swiping a wallet from the undeserving Alfie Porter and when he goes to return it he is confronted by Jess, Alfie’s daughter, who isn’t afraid to tell Tyler what she thinks or put him in his place despite being a little younger than him. They meet again on the way home and Jess is not shy in coming forward with her thoughts about Tyler and you just get a hint that these two are 100% endgame.

As they get older, they don’t seem to have anything to do with each other and we are soon back in The Sanctuary as the soldiers take care of business in more ways than one. Tyler goes to the bank and what should be a quick in and out to deposit the clubs takings from the night before, soon turns into a life changing experience for Tyler as he comes face to face with Jess 14 years after their first encounter and her 3 year old daughter Ava who loves to embarrass her mum and invade Tyler’s space as they wait in line. Tyler & Jess make polite conversation until a shock armed bank robbery takes place, changing their lives forever.

After their ordeal, they try and navigate their new normal and Tyler takes on the role of stepping up to be a father figure for little Ava and a support system and security for Jess. The little family unit they form sort of cements the recurring theme throughout all the books which is family doesn’t necessarily mean DNA and it’s the showing up when it matters and building trust and respect that truly makes a family.
As always, when a soldier has been the victim of an attack or someone they care about has been, their pursuit of the perpetrators is on but this one feels just that little more personal and I think it’s because of the added child dynamic. The pursuing hunt and chase of the robbers by the Soldiers takes us back to the heart the reason why they do what they do and seeing them enforce their own justice is that little bit sweeter with the added personal element to it. I had a hunch as to who the robbers were and why they were targeting the bank and their interactions with Tyler during the robbery, however, I couldn’t guess right and it surprised me and shocked me in a way as it wasn’t predictable so when the answers were being revealed, I was really and truly shocked and surprised.

Overall, this book was the perfect conclusion to a series and it helped to see where the soldiers and their ladies and lives were now and it just really gave that sense of closure and the fact everyone was happy and content was the icing on the cake. There was also the hints and teases of other characters which leaves the door open to go revisit Brinton Manor in the future and see how some of these other characters fare in the world of the Soldiers.

I rated this 5 stars as the characters, the plot and the overall pace of the story was really well written and it gave a good sense of closure at the end. Tyler & Jess were def one of my fave couples and I am so happy I got to read their story and I recommend you read it too.

I felt like I was standing on a cliff, contemplating whether to turn and run or jump off the edge. But, before I could make that decision, Tyler made it for me.
“I don’t want to rush things, Jess. What we’re building here means too much to me. I don’t want to fuck it up.”

The Thief is the 5th and final book in Nikki’s The Soldier’s of Anarchy Series. And, Tyler is a complete swoon fest, at least when it comes to Jess and her adorable daughter Ava. Books can be read independently of one another, but would be best enjoyed reading in order. NIkki is giving us this tribe of complex “misfits” looking to right the wrongs of the world in the best way they know how. This series is gritty, dark, and oh so addictive. I have so enjoyed this series and am sad to say goodbye to the Soldiers. Nikki wrapped the ending up sweetly for us, but left us a tidbit which makes me wonder if we may catch a glimpse of them again. This book read too easily for me. I wanted to savor this last book. But, I dove in, got wrapped up in Tyler and Jess, and before I knew it I was almost done. Gah, Tyler is going to walk in like the thief he is, have you wanting to be his dirty girl, and picking a playroom door.

Tyler is sent to Brinton Manor when he is caught stealing. It is here that his life would take a major turn. This would bring the other soldiers into his life, meeting friends who would become his family. And, he has a run in with a feisty, spirited, and vocal young woman whose words and actions would give him even more purpose. Making him determined to use what he was good at to make a difference, be the better villain.

Years later the soldiers have built their empire, giving back to the town they had grown up in, and giving justice and protection to those who needed it most.

All that he had been through and it is a trip to the bank that would rock Tyler’s world, bring that feisty, spirited and vocal young woman back into his life, along with her adorable three year old daughter, and have him looking to his future.

But, first he will go after the men who dared to put “his girls” in harm's way.

Jess has never forgotten Tyler although she moved on with her life. When he is a rock for her and Ava, when he keeps showing up, he reawakens feelings she thought were long gone. Showing her what having a real partner looks like.

This is my first experience reading a book by this author, and I enjoyed it very much. I believe it is a standalone as I read it without an issue, but I think I need to go back and read the whole series after this terrific story about Tyler and Jessica—and the soldiers of Brinton Manor, of course!

The age-old argument of whether or not vigilantes are right or wrong does come into the story, but there is so much more. What I liked the most was how these ‘soldiers’, all rebellious teenagers, turned their lives into something that meant more. Modern-day Robbin Hoods? Perhaps, but their cheekiness is endearing.

Tyler was lucky when he was kicked out of high school; he just didn’t know it at the time. Meeting his new friends/brothers forged an entirely new path. He built his own family, and they built their business together. I liked Tyler; he was mischievous but had a good heart and was extremely loyal.

Jessica knew of Tyler at their high school, and let’s just say her opinion was not very good. Was she wrong, then? Maybe, but with guidance, it proved to be incorrect. She certainly had changed, too. But then, after fourteen years, who wouldn’t have? Being thrown together in a traumatic situation gave them a tie they wouldn’t have had. Both recognised the spark between them though and boy did they have chemistry!

I think little three-year-old Ava stole the show, though. She was such a sassy little princess, and I can’t imagine anyone not falling in love with her character.

The ‘problem’ in the story has a fantastic solution, and I applaud the cleverly crafted planning of the author. The warnings about the triggers are real, especially for the violence, but it is all in context. Of course, alongside this goes a full range of emotions, and I will admit I was sitting on the edge of my seat for a time or two—great stuff!

"If my world is one you wouldn't survive. Then I'll burn it to the fucking ground. I'll burn this world and rebuild a new one."

5/5 Stars
3/5 Spice

The time has finally come for the series of The Soldiers Of Anarchy to come to an end. The Thief is book five in the series and follows the final Soldier known as Tyler Evans. I want to thank Candi Kane Promotions for once again blessing me with an ARC for this series. It's honestly been an amazing ride following the lives of the Soldiers of Anarchy. Nikki J. Summers truly has a gift for writing.

We are taken to the past, back to the day Tyler first met the group of boys that would become his family and form Soldiers of Anarchy. Not only that but he would meet Jessica Porter who would make an impact on his life. In the present time, he will bump back into Jessica who is now a single mother to an adorable little girl. One single event will turn all three of their lives upside down and Tyler being who he is needs to protect them.

Honestly, this story was so wonderfully written. Each character was written beautifully and little Ava was adorable and comical. I love how soon Tyler realized that he wanted to have something he never had growing up and that was having a family whom he can love and can love him. Though the Soldiers are his family, he wants what they have, a significant other which he finds with Jessica. He adores both Jessica and Ava and can see them being a family. With having them in his life, he finds fulfillment and purpose.

The story is a very slow burn, which is understandable with the events that took place at the start of the book and the healing that needed to happen. There weren't as many spicey scenes as the previous books but again it was not needed with what has occurred in the story. Though I am sad to see the series end, it was concluded wonderfully. Hopefully, more books will be written in the world of Soldiers of Anarchy and Rebels of Sandland so that we may see little cameos of all the characters.

I'm looking forward to future writings of Nikki. As always read the trigger warnings for books and happy reading.

Dark and fast paced with plenty of twists.

Quote📖
A thief, in the right place at the right time, could conjure up magic.

Thoughts💡
There’s a whole daddy theme here and the story will want to make you cry. The book is a standalone, but it’s also the final book in the series so there’s a lot that ties in from the previous books.
This book builds on trauma bonds and is intentionally cheesy and dramatic, because sometimes you just want something over the top and fun. There are some plot holes but if you don’t think too hard about it you won’t spot them. This book is meant to force you through an emotional gambit to bring you to an HEA without requiring strenuous thought and I think it accomplishes that goal very well.

✨Note✨ This is the final book in an interconnected standalone series. It is also written in British English; therefore, the spelling and grammar will differ from American English.

⚠️Content Warning⚠️
directly from the author’s note
This is a vigilante, slow-burn romance involving hostages and a bank robbery gone wrong. Scenes of adolescent bullying Explicitly detailed torture scenes (by vigilantes) Hostage taking (bank robbery) Forced imprisonment Attempted sexual assault.

I cannot believe this series is over; it has been so dear to my heart with the soldiers and their stories. I'm going to miss them. Tyler is unbelievably nice and cute, and he is trying his best to be the best for Jess and Ava. Personally, my favorite aspect is his connection with Ava, Jess's daughter, before he even knew who she was. Their connection felt much more real and honest because he didn't try to have a good relationship with Ava just because she is his partner's child. No, Tyler and Ava have their perfect little bubble, and I am absolutely a goner for it.

Jess is a single mom who worked really hard to provide a great life for herself and Ava, just the two of them, until she met someone from her past. The impact she had on Tyler when they were just little kids, and how those words shaped him, was brilliant—I was speechless.

I'm a huge fan of the "found family" trope, and Nikki did it again, making me fall in love with all the couples one last time. The last few chapters were really hard to get through because I knew those were the last pages I would spend with them. The plot had some really interesting twists and turns, that's for sure.

There was a side character who won me over and has my heart, and I was so sad after everything they went through. Also, we got to meet the taskmaster in Will's book, and I wonder if it is the end of his story as well, or maybe we will get his book too? I'm happy for him, but it is not enough—I love him so much. I hope one day we'll get the chance to read his full story.

It is a hard goodbye, but if you're a dark romance reader, you should definitely read this one.
