I Think I Really Do Have An Ulcer

Rate this book
Before Wellington could move into Spain, he has to capture the two walled towns of Ciudad Rodrigo and Badajoz...

The French have large garrisons in each and even larger garrisons within three or four day's march at Salamanca and Seville. The Hornets have all four battalions out tackling any French reconnaissance-in-force, enabling Wellington to conclude a rapid and bloody siege in each case, before relief can arrive. Once captured, Wellington can move into Spain. Again the Hornets are out cutting the communications between Marshals Marmont and Soult at Almaraz and denying the French any news of Wellington's build-up.

1812 and The Spanish campaign

Love this fanciful telling of the Spanish Portuguese war against France.
This has been a very enjoyable series, good adventure set against a solid history. Creativity flourishes here.

A very strategic view

An easy read. Well plotted and with some new extraordinary characters. Welbeloved continues irritating the French with his Hornets. Serendipity among the involved nationalities.
