After three years working at the BDSM club Master May I, or MMI to those who frequent it, Lillian is stunned when her Dom suddenly announces that they need time apart. Knowing his reputation as a cold and unfeeling Dom, Lillian expects the worst when she is assigned to “training” with the elusive Brandon, or Master B as he is known at the club.
However, as the two begin working together, Lillian is shocked to discover a side to Master B that she never knew existed. The more time she spends with Master B, the more she finds herself craving to be dominated by his touch.
As Lillian and her new her Master begin to explore their feelings for each other, will they be able to overcome the shadows of their past? And what will happen when Lillian’s former Dom realizes that she is no longer his to control?
I finished Master May I a couple days ago and have been thinking of how to put this into words. I was completely blown away by this book!!!It was so sexy, hot, passionate and exactly what this genre has been missing!!!!! Salice Rodgers makes you feel as if you are living the characters life...and WOW...that is one life I would definitely want to be living!! My only complaint was that it ended too soon and I needed more...I can't get enough of Master B!!!! I can't wait for the next book!!! It cant come soon enough..I can not believe this is only her first book!! ABSOLUTELY INCREDIBLE!!
This book will take you in the moment you open it. It is filled with sexual desire that will have you craving more. I read this book in one setting and could not put it down.
Great read if...you are into erotic novels, BDSM, exploring sexuality, Alpha males, romance, and an HEA!
CAUTION:THIS BOOK IS NOT FOR EVERYONE! OPEN MINDED NEEDED!
Side Note: I totally love discovering books that not only have BDSM in them, but REALLY give you insight to not only how it operates, but the reality of the nature, like how a TRUE DOM takes care of his SUB. The expectations. The transfer of emotions. The fact that it's not about pain at all, but pleasure. This book did a great job looking at all of that and also something terrible that can happen when changing Doms. I hadn't read a book yet where the SUB had actually changed Doms, so the change of pace, was definitely welcomed! Aside from the insight, this book knew the right combinations of words to make sure you were hot and bothered and ready to submit yourself every time she did! I look forward to reading more from this author!
I was excited to read this book because I thought it was going to be similar to the shadowlands type of book! I was not impressed! What I think it lacked was content! You had to fill in the blanks with most of the book! There was no background on the characters or the storyline at all!! I was very disappointed because the description had me looking forward to the book, unfortunately what you get in the description is pretty much the whole book!
I received this book for free from the Goodreads first-read giveaway. A good little book, not too fancy and right to the point. Very short at 59 pages, but still catches your attention. A great "quickie".
I really struggled between 3 and 4 stars for this title. The story itself was a quick, short read. I felt the plot was complete, but there was no character development. I would have loved to have known more about Lili and what got her to where she was, both physically and mentally. I also would have found more information on Master L and Master B. useful. At one point a secret is dropped and then never mentioned again, and it would have been nice to learn more. The BDSM aspect of this book is spot on. The author either lives it or done wonderful research on the topic. Because of the knowledge in this book it is a believable story. Also, in the short time, the author made me root for Lili and Master B. I felt their relationship has many levels to go through and they have much room to grow as a couple. Therefore, I am glad to see there are more books. It had hot sexiness and some action going on. I finished this book rather quickly. While it could have been more in depth, this book had the hot factor, wow factor, and love story. However...
The editing in this book (print version) was horrific and it had no page number, which the page numbers were more of a personal thing, I suppose. The reason I decided to stick with a four star review is because this poor author is with an actual publishing company. I am shocked, as an editor myself, that this company thinks no more of their name. This is the 2nd book in a row I have read from them (and others in the past) and they both were edited poorly which may actually stop me from reading more books in this series, unfortunately.
Would I recommend to a friend - If they were not into reading edited books, meaning if it did not bother them. Would I read more from this author - I would like to. Great story concept/well researched/enjoyable story, but poorly edited. 3.5 stars.
What characters? Lillian was made of plastic, both masters were engineered to be rivals, and the sex scenes were not hot. I read hotter stuff in Fifty Shades of Grey, and I didn't even LIKE that book overall. I kept reading to see if Master May I would get better, if Lillian or Brandon would finally get personalities, but the ending was abrupt. The epilogue was a summary. This was a story that could have been very awesome and sexy, told in a way that I felt no connection to any of the characters. Was Brandon supposed to be in love with Lillian? HOW? She had no personality. She barely opened her mouth. I kept forgetting the story was in first person, and it read much more like third because there was no connection to Lillian whatsoever. I much prefer Ana Steele, and that's saying something!
All the five-star reviews convinced me to buy it even though I didn't want to spend $3 on 49 pages. So for everyone else: Don't bother. If it ever goes free on Amazon, then feel free to read it. I encourage you to if you really want to. I would have left a higher review if this "book", if you could call it that, was cheaper just because I don't believe in 1-star reviews. But this was a rip off. You'll be disappointed actually wasting money on this. It was a nice insight into an interesting lifestyle, but as a piece of written work, it would have been so much better if we actually had characters and not cardboard placeholders.
I find found this hard to believe the author knows much about the BDSM lifestyle and has been caught up in the media frenzy over a certain film franchise.
It starts off with the "sub" introducing her "Dom" where he attaches nipple clamps, lays her on a bed where he the then sucks on her nipple with the clamp attaches ( never have I read something like this before! I just don't get this) then pumps her core a few times where she gets the "floaty" feeling and nothing exists outside of the orgasm. This was too rushed IF the author is trying to describe subspace, the scene just happens far to quickly. The next chapter she states he cleaned her, lay her on the bed naked. It's called after care and IF the "sub" was taken to the heights of subspace, she should never have just been "cleaned" and left alone naked on top of the bed.
"Test your limits" -- soft or hard??
He is the "meanest" Dom. And "any serious Dom" ---really???
Seriously I could go on and on about this read as its full of discrepancies in relation to the BDSM lifestyle. It's a fantasy read with no real knowledge, which to me is dangerous for a first timer to pick this up.
All the Dom's are known as Master B, Master A etc, I found this along with the over use of the "pet name" Luv highly annoying.
This statement was what done it for me --
"When a sub has the right Dom for them a safe word isn't needed"
I really enjoyed how she explained the dom/sub relationship. It was a quick & informative read in the lifestyle of BDSM. Hope to read more by this author. Need to find out more about Master B & Lillian. :-)
