Greg and Tim Hildebrandt, known as the Brothers Hildebrandt, were American twin brothers who worked collaboratively as fantasy and science fiction artists for many years, produced illustrations for comic books, movie posters, children's books, posters, novels, calendars, advertisements, and trading cards.
I like Greg's illustration he does for all the books he has done brings the characters to life and the story is really cool since I grew up with the movie version..in the book Dorthy has Silver shoes not Ruby Slippers but still it give a little bit different version of what happens with Dorthy and Toto and the crew enjoy
sooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo good!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! The illustrations are wonderful and this version is historical so the story is very different from the movie and is much better.
Dorothy lives in Kansas but a tornado comes and carries her to the Land of Oz. In order to get home she must see the Wizard of Oz and go on an adventure.
I mistakenly ordered this book for the library - I thought it was L. Frank Baum's version. I'm glad I read it I love this story and now want to read the original even more!
A simple, sweet, classic story with beautiful illustrations by Greg Hildebrandt. I read this out loud to my 5-year-old who was particularly captivated by the art work.
