The Glory Of The Ascension" is a great read on Jesus' ascension back to heaven after His earthly ministry as recorded in the Bible. Around 250 pages, the book addresses many points about this topic, including:

1. Jesus' intercessory prayer ministry as recorded in the Book of Hebrews.
2. Ways Christian believers can participate in Jesus' ascension since we belong to Him faith by grace in Him instead of good works.
3. Various ways heaven is described as in the Bible.
4. Description of the 3-fold office Jesus Christ holds as Prophet, Priest, and King.
5. What the ascension teaches us about Jesus.
6. Jesus is the complete atonement and sacrifice for our sin.
7. Jesus' role as the High Priest in church worship.

Many things to like about this title:

1. While an academic read, the book is relatively easy to read and understand by a pastor or layperson.
2. Contains a thorough scripture index and many verses from the Books of John, Hebrews, and Revelation.
3. Has a helpful bibliography.
4. Well-organized and has a good flow/transition from chapter to chapter.
5. May be used for personal study or sermon/lesson preparation.

Great read and recommended. I was given a review copy by IVP in exchange for a fair review and appreciate the opportunity.
