She's his coach's daughter, but he's willing to risk it all for her...
Juliette Anderson needs a change of scenery and a new purpose in life. So, when her parents suggest she move to Orchid City, she doesn't hesitate.
What she doesn't need is to catch the attention of the hot-shot hockey player next door. Juliette does not date hockey players, and Mac Sullivan is no exception to her rule. Even if he's insistent on changing her mind…
Mac Sullivan never was good at following rules. When his coach's daughter moves in next door, he can't seem to keep his distance, even though he knows she's off limits.
Juliette challenges him, and she doesn't fold like most women do under his charm. He likes that about her. He likes everything about her.
She tells him they can't get involved and Mac decides he'll do whatever he has to do to change her mind. It's a dirty pucking play, but Mac Sullivan only plays to win...
Cali Melle is a USA Today Bestselling Author who writes sports romance that will pull at your heartstrings. You can always expect her stories to come fully equipped with heartthrobs and a happy ending, along with some steamy scenes. In her free time, Cali can usually be found living in a magical, fantasy world with the newest book or fanfic she's reading or freezing at the ice rink while she watches her kids play hockey.
I love being able to count on Cali’s stories having low angst, romantic athletes, and genuinely likable characters. Dirty Pucking Play was another story that hit all the right feels when I needed a break between dark reads.
Mac is a professional hockey player for the Orchid City Vipers. Juliette is the daughter of the Viper’s head coach and a former hockey player herself. Juliette moves in next door to Mac and he is instantly hooked, but she is hesitant. Can Mac get Juliette to give into his charm?
This was a cute instalove rom-com where the MMC falls first and the FMC is the grumpy one. This book had some very laughable moments and the story was pretty fast paced. I enjoyed the story overall. If you want a fast paced, instalove type book with you a cute pup named Thor then Dirty Pucking Play is for you.
Cali never disappoints me. I can always count on her books to be fun, easy reads. Dirty Pucking Play is no different. I read this book in a few hours…I couldn’t put it down. Who knew Mac was going to be so damn sweet. I am sad to see the Orchid City series end but I’m so pumped for what is to come.
This story follows Juliette Anderson and Mac Sullivan. Juliette is the coach’s daughter who has just moved to Orchid City and ends up being next door to one of her dad’s players, Mac. Mac is immediately attracted to Juliette and finds it difficult to stay away from her…
From the jump I knew I was going to love both of these characters and that the tension they would have would be the best kind. The way that these two bickered with each other kept a smile on my face the entire time. I just loved their chemistry sooo much, the sticky notes, secret conversations...AH!! Had me swooning. I am absolutely obsessed with Mac. I loved how he fell so hard for her….like excuse me he annotated a book for her!! He is such a sweet golden retriever and he was determined to break through to Juliette. He literally was on his knees for her!!! 🫠🫠
If you want a feel-good, comfort read hockey romance then you definitely need to pick this one up. I cannot recommend Cali enough! Her books will definitely leave you with a smile on your face.
Thank you to Cali and team for an eARC.

Cali Melle's forbidden love story Dirty Pucking Play centers on the relationship between youth development coordinator Juliette Anderson and hockey star Max Sullivan.
I had high expectations because this was the final book in the Orchid City series and Cali was writing it, obviously. But in the end everything ended up feeling rushed.
I will say that I adored Max and the way he was the one to fall first. I mean this guy got down on his knees when she asked, and even annotated a romantic novel for her.
Cali's tropes always eat, so I'm excited to see what she has in store for her upcoming releases.
🧡 Hockey romance 🧡 Coach's daughter 🧡 Reverse grumpy/sunshine 🧡 Neighbors to lovers
Despite Mac's undeniable interest in Juliette, he knows it's not a good idea to pursue it because she's his coach's daughter. But with her being his new neighbor, it's impossible not to think about her, with her being so close. But despite all the resistance at first, Juliette is also interested, and when they finally give in, oh my god.
Mac was a character I wasn't prepared for how cute and yet so hot he would be at the same time. This book is a reverse grumpy-sunshine, which I loved. I really liked how their relationship was developed, and I confess I was worried about how it would be when Juliette's dad found out, but I really liked the direction it took.
If you're looking for a read that makes you feel good, where the main male character is obsessed with the female lead from the first time they see each other. And with some dirty talk that's just spot on, then this book is for you.
Thank you so much, Valentine Pr, for sending me this ARC.
Thank you so much to Valentine Pr and Cali for this arc!
I loved this so much 🧡 Juliette is the coach’s daughter, former hockey player, and totally off limits to hockey players. Mac is immediately attracted to Juliette but when he finds out her dad is his coach, he tries to stay away. Except, she’s also his neighbor and his dog loves her 😍
Juliette is the grumpy one after an accident left her unable to play hockey. Mac makes her smile! They have a secret relationship that’s both sweet and spicy!
Orchid City is one of my fave fictional towns and I can’t wait for the ice skater romance to come!

If you’re looking for a feel-good, no-angst, comfort-read hockey romance, you must pick up this book. It left me smiling throughout. It’s a forbidden (coach’s daughter), reverse grumpy/sunshine, secret relationship with spice, dirty talk, and one rescue pup.
These were great characters. Juliette was a former hockey star navigating her future off the ice after a serious accident wrecked her body. She had walls and thorns. Mac was the sweet golden retriever hockey player determined to break through to her. Even if it meant he stole/borrowed one of her spicy books for research purposes and left naughty notes.
This is a fast-burn and moderately spicy MF romance. Juliette and Mac have great chemistry. And Mac has a very dirty mouth.
Dirty Pucking Play is a standalone in the Orchid City world. It ends with HEA.
Genre: Contemporary Sports Romance Tropes/Features: Hockey, forbidden romance (coach’s daughter), reverse grumpy/sunshine, neighbors to lovers, black cat FMC, golden retriever MMC, he falls first (and fast), POV: Dual 1st Person POV Relationship Type: MF, fast burn, moderately spicy Book Type/Ending: Standalone with HEA TW/CW: None listed. This is a light-hearted, open-door romance (explicit)
Rating: 4/5 🌟 Spice: 3/5 🌶️ Characters: Juliette and Mac
Mac is a professional hockey player and Juliette is the daughter of the coach. They are also neighbors. Mac isn't interested in a relationship and Juliette is actively against having one. She is slow to trust and has a bit of a black cat type personality. They get together since they are both attracted to one another and agree that it's nothing more. Mac falls for her first but neither of them realize they are basically acting like they are in a relationship for a bit. It was a lot of fun seeing them realize that and their feelings towards one another. This was fun, cute, and sweet with some great steamy moments. It was a quick and easy read. Mac is charming and Juliette made me chuckle a few times. I liked the pace of the book and how the relationship developed. I do wish there had been a bit more conflict at some point. There was no third act breakup and the tiny bit of drama fell flat for me. It was a bit hyped up as an issue throughout the book but ended up not being that big of an issue.
If you are looking for a sweet romance with low angst, low to no drama or conflict, and a quick steamy romance then this fits that perfectly. I had a good time reading it! I'm a big fan of Cali's writing and am really enjoying this series.

Cali Melle can do no wrong in my eyes! Another great read! I loved this! It was a short and easy read! I flew through this!
Dirty Pucking Play is the fourth book in the Orchid City series following Mack Sullivan & Juliette Anderson. Mac is a professional hockey player and Juliette is the coach’s daughter. So of course she is off limits. When Mac finds out he lives next door to her. Mac isn’t interested in a relationship and Juliette doesn’t want one either. She is slow on trusting people. They are both attracted to each other and there is a pull between them that they can’t stay away from. So what’s wrong with some neighbors with benefits… until someone catches feelings.
Mac was so charming. I was all giddy over the way he treats Juliette! Juliette was a strong female! I loved their chemistry! Thank you Cali Melle for this ARC!
Mac is a professional hockey player, he’s a dog dad, and extra single….. until he sees her.
Juliette Anderson. The coach’s daughter. ALSO his new neighbor. He knows he shouldn’t but he can’t help but talk to her and be close to her. Juliette coaches youth hockey to get her fill after a career ending injury she sustained in college. She has sworn off hockey players for good… until Mac.
The man who got her romance book delivered for his apartment and annotated it for her before he gave it back to her. 🤭 I loved this story so much and how much of a big sap Mac was.
Tropes: •coach’s daughter •forbidden love •neighbors to lovers •he’s a dog dad •he falls first •she’s an ex hockey player
What to Expect: - Hockey Romance - FMC and MMC Hockey Players - Coach's Daughter - Forbidden Romance - He Falls First - Neighbors to Lovers - No Third Act Breakup
Dirty Pucking Play is book 4 in the Orchid City series. I am definitely a Cali Melle fan, and this book did not disappoint. We've met Nico and Harper, Declan and Giana, Wes and Charlotte, and now we are following Mac and Juliette's story.
Mac Sullivan plays professional hockey for the Orchid City Vipers. Juliette Anderson is the coach's daughter and a former hockey player. Juliette has just moved to Orchid City and happens to be Mac's neighbor. After seeing Juliette skating at their team family skate event, Mac is immediately attracted to her. When Mac discovers Juliette is his coach's daughter, he knows she is off-limits. His teammates also warn him and tell him to stay away from Juliette. Mac can't help himself and is obsessed with her. Juliette has a hard exterior and does not let Mac in easily. Mac doesn't give up. He does everything that makes him the perfect book boyfriend and works his way into Juliette's heart.
I loved Mac and Juliette together! They had great chemistry, and I loved their fun banter. I am a sucker for stories where the MMC and FMC have sworn-off relationships, then find the kind of love that makes them change their minds. Although I always know the main characters will end up together, witnessing their journey is still fun. The tension always keeps me on the edge of my seat, waiting for the moment they decide to give in and let things happen. You know it's real love when you are willing to put everything on the line, and that's what Mac and Juliette had.
I'm sad to see the Orchid City series end, but I loved reading about the amazing characters Cali created. All of the characters were relatable and believable. It was easy to fall in love with them and root for their happy endings. I enjoyed this book and can't wait to see what Cali writes next.
Thanks to Cali Melle and Valentine PR for the e-ARC.
This one is for everyone looking for a super quick, low drama and steamy coaches daughter sports romance.
I really enjoyed it. The storyline was flowing, there is no 3rd act breakup and they were communicating like adults👏🏻 but it was definitely a bit short for my liking so it felt rushed at times.
This book gave me Golden retriever meets black cat girlfriend vibes and I’m absolutely here for it. Mac was just everything and he adores Juliette even though she was a bit frosty and grumpy to him at the beginning. They were just so perfect together!!🩵
Overall this was a great book and I definitely recommend it🫶🏻
Thank you so much to @authorcalimelle and @valentine_pr_ for the opportunity to read Dirty Pucking Play as an Arc 🧡
“It was a dirty play, but I never claimed to play fairly. I was truly looking forward to the consequences now.” The final book in the Orchid City series was bittersweet. I absolutely loved Juliette and Mac but I didn’t want it to end! Juliette has just moved to Orchid City to be closer to family. Mac plays on the Vipers hockey team and is coached by Juliette’s father. Dating the coach’s daughter is always a hard no but you can’t help who you love.
Juliette was determined to ignore Mac. She didn’t have time and energy for a hockey player, especially one living out her dreams. However, Mac was equally as determined to win her over. “The harder you push, the more you’re just reeling me in, Juliette.”
They were adorable and no third act break up was AMAZING. I enjoyed how their relationship grew and became what they both needed. “Since you’ve entered my life, I don’t really care to experience it without you anymore.”
I can’t wait to see what comes next with Cali’s new series coming this summer, enemies to lovers is an immediate yes for me every time! Thank you @authorcalimelle for the ARC! Release Date: April 8, 2024 Rating: ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ 🔥: "You have other senses other than your sight, Juliette”
Juliette catches Mac’s eye at the family skate, and when he finds out she’s the coach’s daughter it doesn’t deter him. Then when Mac comes home and Juliette is sitting in the hallway, he finds out they’re neighbors. What starts as a neighborly helping hand, turns into needing to see each other every day🫣
I loved all the little things Mac did for Juliette and how he wasn’t afraid of what would happen with his career because of his feelings for her.
This was done so well and is definitely a must read!
Dirty Pucking Play is book 4 in the Orchid City series and I got to say I was all for Wes but Mac took over and became my number 1.
Dirty Pucking Play had the makings of becoming the best book in this series. What makes a forbidden romance better??? Add in coaches daughter and it has you hooked.
Mac Sullivan is a hot shot hockey player. He’s got a lot going for him but what he didn’t except was the beauty next door to be his coaches daughter. Juliette Anderson doesn’t date hockey players and hockey players who her father coaches is a definite no.
This was a fast pace romance. There is no slow burn with this one. I really think this one was my favorite. Mac is a smooth talker and I loved Juliette’s personality. This whole series was full of rom com goodness. The laughter and steam throughout not only this book but the whole series will have you hooked!
Dirty Pucking Play is the fourth book in the Orchid City series, but it can be read as a standalone.
Mac is a hockey player for the Orchid City Vipers, and Juliette’s dad is his coach. Juliette just moved to Orchid City as an “escape” and to find herself again after she sustained an injury that changed her life. When Mac sees her, he’s instantly attracted, but she’s not interested, especially because he’s a hockey player. But Mac is determined, and he tries hard to change her mind.
Juliette was grumpy, especially because of the accident that ended her career. But she still had a big heart and encouraged others to pursue their dreams.
Mac was a total golden retriever. He was outgoing and playful, and he was so sweet. He was also a dog dad (which was so cute)! He’d been a playboy, but once he fell for Juliette (very quickly), he was gone for her.
These two had great banter and chemistry! And I liked that Juliette didn’t change who she was; Mac loved her the way she was.
This is the last book in the series, and every book in the series has been very low angst and feel-good. I was happy to see the characters from the previous books, and I’m excited to see what’s next.
Tropes: Hockey Romance Neighbors to Lovers He fell first and harder Grumpy FMC x Sunshine MMC Coach’s Daughter
I absorbed this book. This was a cute, fluffy, hockey romance that was a much-needed read. The relationship that Mac and Juliette had was something that I couldn't get enough of. The immediate tension and chemistry between them were perfect. I loved how they didn't play around when it came to how they felt about each other and communicated how and what they wanted. The character development between characters was so sweet and positive it felt like a breathe of fresh air.
I will be reading the rest of the series and recommend this book to everyone who loves a good hockey romance with a hot, charming, cinnamon roll of a man and a none non-sense, badass, woman.
this story follows Mac Sullivan, a NHL hockey player who quickly falls for the one person who is off limits: his coach’s daughter. Juliette Andersen just moved to Orchid City to be closer to her family. she knows exactly the type of guy Mac is, since she grew up around hockey players, but once she moves in to the condo next door, her perspective of him just might start to change.
this was a fast-paced, feel good story that had me hooked from the beginning. I ate up this book in less than 24 hours just from the great chemistry between Mac and Juliette as well as the little hints of depth that we got from both of their characters. Mac’s character was easy to get attached to, especially with his adorable dog, Thor. we quickly see him try to resist his temptation to Juliette, but as their relationship starts to blossom, his soft and loving heart is so evident. I loved Juliette’s black cat energy because it added some fun and engaging banter into the story! but as she gives into Mac, the vulnerability and affection we see her begin to share is so sweet and wholesome.
I also loved the side characters weaved into the story, as they really added to the setting and overall dynamic. the way Mac’s teammates interact with Juliette was so fun to see! I also loved the way we got to explore Juliette’s journey to working in a job that was much more suited for her and gave her the opportunity to thrive. the way that Mac’s team get brought into that storyline was so sweet and pulled at my heartstrings! and of course, Thor was the sweetest dog ever and I loved how important he was to the story!!
thank you so much to Valentine PR and Cali Melle for the arc in exchange for my honest opinion and review!
Cali has done it again! I have fallen hard and fast for yet another Orchid City Viper man! She can do no wrong! Especially when she writes a forbidden coach's daughter romance hehehe.
Let me just say... I devoured this book in a single day! Thats how good her book are!!
overall rating:☆ ☆ ☆ ☆ ☆ ☆ spice rating:🌶️🌶️🌶️.5
tropes are: ♡ coach daughter ♡ hockey romance ♡ neighbours to lovers ♡ he falls first ♡she plays hockey too and coach's the youth league ♡ forbidden romance ♡ no third act breakup ♡ black cat x cinnamon roll dog dad
Nothing prepared me for how down right excited I would be to read this book, because when I read it, I laughed, I squealed, I giggled and I was kicking my feet in the air for the entirety of it.
Juliette is the daughter to the coach of the Orchid City Vipers, which iOS the team that Mac plays for, but when he sets his eyes on her for the first time, he is instantly star struck, even though he is warned away from her by his friends, he wants to breaks the rules a little. Only to find out that Juliette just happens to be his next door neighbour hehehe.
From the moment they start interacting, I knew they would have the best sort of tension. The way they bickered and fought but teased each other too was so fun. I loved how Mac was always finding a way to talk to her or interact with her. I love the way he falls hard for her instantly and can't get her out his head! The sticky notes on the door and the secret conversations and stolen moments make this a wonderful forbidden romance to read.
But when they bark that tension and finally give in to their feelings, holy moly do they get hot and heavy. Calling her 'my love', 'sunshine' or 'baby' had me falling for him so hard. THIS MAN ANNOTATED A BOOK FOR HER! I would be jumping him like a tree!
But when they're together, they are HOT HOT HOT! This man got in HIS knees and BEGGED her to let him fuck her like *Passes away* because that is HOT AF!
Juliette and Mac have the sweetest and down right swoon insta love rom com vibes you could want in a book! They bond over books, they bond over hockey and skating and over his adorable dog Thor! Thos Turkey was a wonderful end to the Orchid City Seres! Absolutely love them with my whole entire heart!
Thank you Cali for sending me an ARC for a honest review! I always feel so grateful when I get to read your books! ♡
Tropes: -hockey romance -coach's daughter -dog dad -he's obsessed with her -neighbors to lovers -she used to play hockey -he leaves notes in her romance books -no third act breakup
I absolutely love this series and Cali has knocked it out of the park again! Dirty Pucking Play is book four in the Orchid City series and is Juliette and Mac's story.
Mac is a professional hockey player and Juliette is the daughter of the coach Mac plays for. She also is a former hockey player, and they are neighbors. Mac doesn't really do relationships and Juliette is slow to trust and is actively against having a relationship. As soon as Mac sees her though, he is hooked. The moment they started interacting I knew they would be so good. The banter and the bickering were great. Also, this man annotated a romance book of hers with little notes and gave it back to her.......ummm where can I find a man like that? haha
When they finally break their tension and give into their chemistry, it's just so good. Mac is definitely a cinnamon roll MMC, and he goes after the black cat personality that is Juliette. The way that he finds ways to talk to her, leaves notes for her, secret conversations, and stolen moments and glances are the ingredients for a perfect forbidden romance.
Definitely give this a read if hockey romance is your thing, it could be read as a standalone, but the series is so good so go ahead and read it!
Releasing April 8, 2024. I received an ARC copy in exchange for an honest review.
Cali Mell cannot write a bad book. I absolutely LOVE the Orchid City Series and this did not disappoint! I think Mac Sullivan just became my new favorite Viper!
Everyone knows the Coach’s daughter is off limits…and even though Mac Sullivan knows this, he isn’t trying to play by the rules. Especially when he learns that Juliette Anderson is his new neighbor.
Juliette and Mac have an instant connection. Even with his golden retriever vibes and her black cat mentality, the two just work. After spending more time together and slowing breaking down her walls, Juliette realizes that Mac is the guy who could change her life.
The chemistry between Mac and Juliette was so good I could feel it coming off the pages! I loved these two and the way their relationship took off from the very beginning.
Mac Sullivan, y’all. My man. Get yourself a cinnamon roll in the streets but a freak in the sheets. His mouth. I absolutely die.
I loved Juliette and how sassy she was with Mac. She truly gave him a run for his money but the way she opened up and let him in was so good!!
Cali! keep doing you boo because damn it’s so good. Thank you for the ARC!
I was in a super bad reading slump and this book really helped push me out of it. I wouldn’t say this book was good but it wasn’t bad either there just wasn’t the angst you’d expect from a “forbidden romance”
90% of this book is smut and while that’s cool and all we don’t get much besides that. We don’t know much besides the fact that the FMC is the MMCS coaches daughter and that she used to play hockey but can’t anymore due to an injury. We know even less about the MMC, all we know is he doesn’t have family where he’s at and that he has a dog name Thor. The FMC also strongly disliked the MMC because of her ex but we don’t even get into that?! it’s the whole reason she’s mean to the MMC and won’t actually be with him but we don’t even get to know why or get some more angst with their relationship. None of these characters have anything to make them act the way they do besides just wanting to? they also don’t really develop a relationship. it’s like the fact that they “shouldn’t” be together is the main reason they even see each other and any heartfelt scenes we get are immediately followed by some sort of sex scene. The ONE date they do on is super fun but it lasts about 10 seconds before they’re having sex on the bench ?!?!
The book also sets up the relationship between the FMC and her dad as super jaded and messy and you would think that would have caused a big blow up leading to the 3rd break up act but it doesn’t
I think what would have really saved this book is if there was more angst when the FMCS dad found out about their relationship. It was this whole issue and the main point of this book and when it happens it’s like “you’re an adult do what you want” which ofc is best case scenario but there is no angst!!! NOTHING
I always love her books and they are always so good but this one just didn’t do it for me.
This entire review has been hidden because of spoilers.
“The harder you push, the more you’re just reeling me in, Juliette.”
Cali does it everytime! When I start one of her books, I know I won't be able to stop reading till it's done;all in the same day/a few hours.
Dirty Pucking Play is my new favorite of the series! I just loved the banter between Mac and Juliette. You can just tell, they want each other.
New neighbors, and she is " off -limits" being the coaches daughter! Juliette has just followed her parents to Orchid City, since they don't plan on returning to Maine, and she is starting fresh, coaching kids in hockey. She had dreams of playing professionally, but that didn't happen so she is helping kids reach those dreams!
Mac falls hard, even trying to deny it. [ I just loved how he knew she likes him cause she was "mean to him" and not her coworker🤣] he does really sweet things for her, and she bonds quickly with his dog and let's her walls down for him.
Juliette is a grump, for a while... once they give into the attraction and accept what they have is more than they originally planned. It was game over.
My jaw dropped when I saw the couple for thr next book!
There is just something about the coach's daughter trope that makes me weak. And Dirty Pucking Play was everything that I was hoping for in a coach's daughter hockey romance!
Juliette is the coach's daughter. She is off-limits. But she has caught the attention of the hot shot hockey player Mac Sullivan. Good thing she doesn't date hockey players and Mac is no exception. But what happens when she discovers Mac is her new neighbor and he plans to do everything he can to get her attention? You throw all of the rules out the window and have fun with your hot new neighbor. So how long can they hide their relationship but coach finds out?
📚 Book Tropes: - Hockey Romance - Neighbors to Lovers - Hockey Player x Coach's Daughter - Forbidden/Secret Relationship - He Falls First and HARD - Black Cat x Cinnamon Roll
Rating: ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Spice: 🌶🌶
💭 My Thoughts: One of my favorite tropes is coach's daughter. I think a lot of it has to do with the forbidden romance aspect and them needing to sneak around. And this book was everything that I wanted and more. And to be honest, this may be selfish of me but I wish it was longer! This book was a just too short!
I love Cali Melle and the Orchid City series and this book of course hit it out of the park for me. I loved Mac and Juliette. Mac is such a cinnamon roll who went after his black cat and I was here for it. Not to mention, their spice was right where I wanted it! I mean can we talk about that kitchen counter scene 🥵. So basically if you love the coach's daughter trope and a hockey romance that is both plot and spice, I highly recommend this book!
*Thank you Cali Melle and Valentine PR for the opportunity to read Dirty Pucking Play as an ARC in exchange for my honest thoughts, opinions and review
I love the Orchid City series, and I love Mac and Juliette🫶🏼🧡
Callie does it again with one of her sweet, spicy, with a touch of forbidden romances! Who doesn’t love a coach’s daughter/off-limits romance?
Blurb: Mac is focused on hockey, and hockey only. He’s been single for a while, never interested in a serious relationship. The only thing he’s ever needed are his pro hockey career and his sweet pitbull, Thor. That is until Juliette Anderson catches his attention. She’s everything he can’t have- his coach’s daughter, she’s emotionally unavailable, and she’s built some walls up after what she’s been through. But Mac just can’t seem to resist. He’s never been very good at following the rules anyway 😉
You guys!!! I ate this book up in one day😆📚 I loved Mac and Juliette’s meet-cute and the fact that Mac could handle her sass so well. Every time Mac brought up the fact that he loved how unapologetically authentic Juliette was, I swooned a little. We love a man who supports his woman wholeheartedly.
Juliette came with a little baggage, but we got to see her fight for what she wanted in her life. She didn’t allow her past to dictate her future, and when she fell for Mac, she fell hard, just like him.
There were so many sweet, swoony, and of course, spicy, moments that made this book one of my favorites in the Orchid City Series🫶🏼🧡
Read if you like: - Hockey romance - Coach’s daughter - Neighbors to lovers - He’s obsessed with her - Cinnamon role MMC - Former hockey player FMC - He leaves notes in her romance novels (this one was TOP TIER) - No 3rd act breakup
Dirty Pucking Play is a super cute, lighthearted, and fast paced read. Juliette is carrying some baggage and is a sort of a black cat, but Mac is here for it all. I loved that he not only accepts that about her but likes that she is the way that she is. And the ways he works to chip away at her walls were top tier. I mean, the man even makes notes in her romance novel 🫠 There is a bit of instalove, but it still feels like their relationship develops naturally. They just complement one another really well. Overall, I thought it was a fun and enjoyable book.
If you’re looking for a sweet romance with low angst, low conflict, and medium steam, Dirty Pucking Play is for you!
Tropes: 🏒 Hockey Romance 🏒Neighbors to Lovers 🏒 Coach’s Daughter 🏒 Forbidden/Secret Romance 🏒Reverse Grumpy/Sunshine 🏒He Falls First
Spice: 2.5-3 🌶️
I received an advanced reader copy of this book and am voluntarily leaving my honest review.
This was a forbidden romance that started when Mac Sullivan notices the coach’s daughter at a team function. He knows that she’s off limit but he just can’t seem to stop thinking about Juliette Anderson. Mac and Juliette end up being neighbors and their interactions just feed their desire for each other. They try to be friends but the chemistry is just too strong. Mac sees what Juliette tries to hide and she just calms his soul. Despite them claiming to just be friends with benefits, they are in a relationship. They just have to figure out how to tell the coach that his player is involved with his daughter.
I enjoyed this book so much. I haven’t laughed this much while reading in a long time. I loved Mac and Juliette’s friendship. I loved that Mac and Juliette complimented each other. I loved this book!!
This is my new favorite of Cali Melle’s 𝙊𝙧𝙘𝙝𝙞𝙙 𝘾𝙞𝙩𝙮 𝙨𝙚𝙧𝙞𝙚𝙨 😍 I was excited for Mac’s story and it did not disappoint! I always love a forbidden romance and when the coach’s daughter, Juliette, catches Mac’s eye, it gets interesting! Turns out she is his new neighbor too. Throw in a pitbull sidekick and this is an adorably perfect read. I loved both of the main characters so much, Mac will definitely have you swooning. I really enjoyed how Juliette started to own her past and was just trying to build a life for herself where she could be happy, even knowing her biggest dream would never come true. I also love how real she was, and wasn’t afraid to be herself.
