This is the third in a trilogy ("Prayer: The Search for Authenticity" and "Dynamic Contemplation") based on a series of lectures the author gave at Notre Dame in 1968. I read them in order, and in my estimation, this entry is the best of the bunch. I found it much more practical than the others that were loftier in tone and substance (not that there's anything wrong with that, necessarily). I suppose a book with "secular" and "holiness" in the title should be more focused on living out the Christian life in the public square, and it is. There are plenty of highlights that a person can take with him into the marketplace to fulfill the Gospel call to go out to all the world and spread (by living) the Good News.
