The Crown Princess of Zyria was born to wear the crown….but what if she wants more?
My life was organised since birth until the carefully constructed plans exploded like a supernova. The lick of flames began when I decided to sacrifice myself for my planet and my people.
Abducted into the stars I dreamed of, I have no choice but to embrace the part of me I have always hidden—the fighter, the warrior, and the imperfect, crass woman who doesn’t resemble the impeccable princess I am expected to be. Instead of using my silver tongue to fight my battles, I now hold true weapons, and for the first time since the crown was placed on my head, I feel whole.
Evil is flooding the galaxy, and for some reason, destiny has chosen me to stop it. The only problem is, I don’t know how. Luckily, I meet some men along the way who are willing to follow me on this mission. If the king could see me now, draped in leather and wielding pistols and knives rather than wearing ballgowns and reading old scrolls, he would collapse onto his golden throne.
Now, I fight my way across the cosmos to try and stop the destruction of everything we know.
I was ready to give up my life, my future, and my body, but I never expected to lose my heart along the way.
Stars, don’t let me fail now.
Crown of Stars is a reverse harem complete with a HEA. It contains explicit content and darker elements, including mature language and violence.
“The princess, the criminal, the warrior, the soldiers, the rebel, the machine.”

The heroine:Saffron - the Crown Princess of Zyria. She was raised to be intelligent and proper. She has an instinctive kindness that will serve her well one day when she becomes queen. She is beautiful and respectable but is also bored with her life. Though she does train with her guards, so they are more friendly than one would expect. Tradition says she will one day be queen, but all that means to her is she will be forced to marry the man her father chooses, and he will be king, she will be nothing more than the bearer of his children.

The Story: One day while getting ready to go down to a dinner party, a fleet of ship enters the atmosphere of the kingdom. They think the ships are the guests, but they are an invading force who attack, they are the destroyer of planets. Saffron knows that her kingdom was unprepared for the fleet of invaders. She knows they need to surrender or bargain. Her people will be destroyed if they surrender. So, she does what is best for her people and offers herself if the invaders will leave the planet and her people alone.
The four guards go after Saffron, but she is also trying to get away and get back home, so this book shows their journey to find each other again and she meets a few more men along the way. It was an interesting story for an alien romance. I like it when there are different settings, from a spaceship to a mining planet and more. I also like the adventure of a story like this. Though there were a lot of men in this reverse harem romance, each of them has a different story and personality. The world building and character development were great.
I’m not saying there weren’t problems, there were some plot issues. During one firefight, another ship blows two of the rebel ships away in a matter of seconds each, yet before they can blow the ship away where all of our main characters were, there was time for Saff to say a long goodbye to each of her men. Also, six men in a reverse harem are just too many. There were a LOT of intimate scenes, I like when the main characters can get to know each other deeply rather than just be intimate all the time. Plus, as my review title suggests, there were a few breakfast club moments that were kind of sappy.
This audiobook was told in multiple points of view via dual narration. It was narrated by Aaron Shedlock and Elizabeth Russell. Aaron Shedlock is one of my favorite male narrators. He has a deep and sexy voice and is great at doing multiple voices for multiple characters. This was my first-time hearing Elizabeth Russell, and she has a feminine voice which is a bit lower than some female narrators but still very pleasant.
What the hell happened to K. A. Knight?! I usually love her books, but for the life of me I could not continue to read this book. I didn't get past the fleet arriving at her planet. I could not bring myself to care for any of the characters. It was just a huge disappointment all around. They were all so incredibly superficial and the first few chapters are all about how Saffron is the kindest, bravest, most beautiful, most intelligent, most benevolent, most deadly, most spirited, least flawed being that has ever lived. And everything that happens is so confusing. They are like this is an invader we don't know why he is here or how he got here, let's kill it. And she is like no how dare you (girly what the fuck? don't let the stranger into your bed chambers YOU DON'T KNOW HIM and he is an invader weapon guy and you are the princess). She just proves to be very dumb spoiled and immature very quickly. It made no sense why there were so many men into her. Plus all the interesting parts of the relationships were just told to us. We didn't get to read any development it was just like "oh we grew up together so that's this relationship, oh my father bought him and he was supposed to hate me but now he loves me and protects me, oh this one never knew affection so while you weren't looking I taught him all about it". It was so frustrating cause there were some good ideas and nice relationship dynamics to explore. But instead of doing that the author just told us how they happened and fast forwarded to the part that everyone was already in love with her and she was already in love with everyone. I could not finish or get very far really, which is so sad because I love RH, it's my absolute favorite thing, and this one sucks. I will keep reading her books though (they are usually so good), I hope this is a one off and it doesn't happen again.
Crown of Stars was an interesting alien romance book. In it, you will meet Saffron Crown Princess of Zyria. She loves her planet and the people who live within it. She's a very kind person that should never be underestimated. Which actually happens to her a lot. Being underestimated that is.
The day her planet is being attacked; she sacrifices herself to protect them all. Of course, her personal guards do not agree with this. It happens while they are being attacked and she's whisked away from her people. Now the guy who took her away was horrible. He seriously deserved all the karma that came his way because he was a douche canoe.
While traveling from planet to planet, she often finds herself in two situations: romantically with a guy or in a cell. Not sure how she picked up so many enemies along the way but at least she found romance, right? Whether it was with her personal guards after reuniting with them or two stragglers she met along the way.
The journey she went on was highly entertaining. It also ended up shaping her into a better Queen for her people and her men. I'm really happy that she was able to claim them all and that everyone accepted it as well. In the end, it was good adventure but be careful with some of the darker moments.
This author can be a hit or miss for me so I’m glad to report I enjoyed this story. After sacrificing herself to save her people, as any future Queen should, Saffron is whisked away by a cruel enemy who invades her world. Years of being a princess have trained Saffron how to behave and so she refuses to cower. Leaving her planet however starts off a chain of events that will have her embroiled in rebellion wars and treachery from the one universal organization that’s supposed to bring peace. Her journey home will not be quick but she makes quick friends along the way.
Four of her loyal guards and secret loves leave her home world right after she is taken to rescue her but she needs no rescuing. The relationship is rather fast moving and it’s like Saffron becomes free in a way she never was before bound by duty on her planet. While Saffron has harbored feelings for her guards/friends for years she’d never acted on it because she had a role to fulfill. Within no time off planet she’s giving up her virtue to two strangers and adding to a harem she didn’t even realize she was creating. She becomes sexually free and damn if there’s not a lot of sex, bordering on too much.
The book also felt a bit choppy to me with awkward transitions from one bad guy to the next and the changing of storylines. Nonetheless the book was a sci-fi adventure from start to finish. Note it does have some darker and triggering moments mostly early on when the heroine is captured so be forewarned!
This is an incredibly long book, it took a bit to read, but the length is absolutely justified and the story is not drawn out/‘fillered’, everything has its place in the book. Plus if you must know, I LOOOVE thick books 🥰 Upon reading the book at first, I thought it was going to be incredibly predictable but booooy was I wrong, you go in thinking ‘this’ is how it going to go, BUT I certainly did not expect the twist and turns actually. It’s got it all, it’s got romance, action, drama, suspense and a sprinkle of comedy right on top, with it all mixed together it was a very enjoyable read. I would happily read more books of this universe.
I Give this Book a 4.5/5 Star Rating, Listing as 5. Sorry Peeps Zero Spoilers! HEA(?): Yes Relationship Type: RH>Reverse Harem: MFMMMMM M/M(?): No. POV’s: Multiple, Mostly hers but the men do have their POV’s. Men All Humanoid(?): Of a Sort, Yes. Heat: 3.5-4/5, Closer to a 4. Romance: 4/5 Predictability: I THOUGHT so 😅, but not really predictable to me 3/5. Pacing: Very Good actually, it’s more at a ‘constant’ pace, so Mid. Dark(?): No. Drama: 5/5 Suspense: 4-4.5/5
4.7 stars. This was sexy as fuck. And the plot was full of action and excitement and political intrigue. I loved it. Saffron is a total badass and her men are absolutely hot and dangerous.
Check TWs, of course, I think that probably goes for all of KA Knight’s books. This one has quite a bit of SA discussed and remembered and some even happening on page, though the on page stuff is minimal and all of it is kept brief. Then of course there’s violence and kidnapping.
I really enjoyed this book. The adventure was fun and exciting. There was a ton of steamy sex and good dirty talk. There was also some alien attributes, and there was groups scenes! I do wish we got a bit more with Gunnar so we could see more of his dark side, the little bit we got with just him and his twin was hot as hell and I wanted more. Ooh and I wish we got a bit more time alone with Axzel, his venom was sort of teased to us and I wanted to see him inject it into her😏. Lol
I also really loved how all of their relationships grew stronger and stronger as they went, helping each other grow and reach their potential.
There’s a lot we didn’t get to see happen around the galaxy, some answers we never got, but overall I really liked how it all turned out.
I’m glad I took the time to read it. It wasn’t really what I was expecting and I’m not mad about that, at all.
Genre/Tropes: RH, Sci-Fi POV: 1st, Multiple Standalone STEAM LEVEL: 🔥🔥🔥 —————— Where do I even start with this book? From the first chapter, we’re immediately thrown into this science fiction world filled with strange planets and even stranger beings. I’ll admit it was a bit confusing catching on to what was happening because there was zero build-up but it was actually kind of fantastic being tossed right into the plot without a long monologue or description.
It’s girthy af. I knew going into this it was going to be thicc and I wasn’t disappointed. I was surprised, however, to find much shorter chapters than anticipated. Most of the shorter chapters were from the guys’ povs, and once again, it totally worked. You can’t go into this story with similar expectations to Katie’s other works because this is COMPLETELY different (unless you’ve read her other sci-fi, which I haven’t).
I’m not giving anything away. The FMC is Saffron and her guys are…unique and possessive and alpha and HOT. There really wasn’t any details about this book anywhere and I can see why. SO much goes on that it would be impossible to explain any one thing without causing mass confusion or giving something away. So I’ll keep this review just as ominous and vague and only tell y’all that this is a TRUE sci-fi romance. It’s descriptive and emotional and hot and fantastical.
I know I’m not giving much insight into the story and that’s intentional. I went into this book with the cover and blurb and that was it. It was not at all like I anticipated and so much more than I’d hoped. I’m still a bit overwhelmed with this girthy story, especially since I devoured it in less than 24 hours. I guess that in and of itself gives you a clue about how good it was.
Well that was a spicy, sci-fi adventure. I've always been a sci-fi buff and this book did not disappoint! Six hot aliens, all with different personalities, sizes, and characteristics, and a strong, capable FMC. What more could I ask for!
Hoping there are other stories that continue this saga as there were a few hints to the possibility.
And I give outstanding props to Ms.Knight. This is the third book I've read from her and none of my reviews have been under four stars! Becoming one of my favorites ;)
I really wanted to like this more than I did. That being said it isn't all that bad.
First I have to say this claiming of being "sci-fi" is pretty lose. It is Sci-Fi because it is set in space, with aliens, human hybrids, spaceships, and multiple planets, but that is really where the tie to Sci-Fi ends. I will admit that maybe I am being a bit "old school" or traditional when thinking that a book that claims to be sci-fi should have some science like stuff in it. To me this was more of a Space Opera.
The plot felt weak to me. I mean I followed it, but it did feel jumpy to me with plot holes and a general rushed feeling in the middle while also dragging out the ending. A lot of the dialogue and interaction between the characters at times felt melodramatic with overly emotional speeches that did feel out of place for where the story was in the plot. Like a soap opera set in space, and if that is your jam - this might be the book for you.
Now because it really wasn't all bad, these are the things that I really enjoyed about the book:
The smut was HOT. There is one of the guys that has a thing on his thing that does this thing during THE THING and good lord....where can I get one of those?! Clearly I am not spoiling anything because you know this a reverse harem but each guy has something extra special that makes the adult activities that much better.
I also really enjoyed getting to see Saffron come into her own and take ownership of being more than female that is told what to wear, where to stand, and how to speak.
I liked all of the guys in the story, they all had great personalities.
There were also some really great quotes I highlighted from the book as well.
It just wasn't what I expected, it certainly wasn't terrible but it wasn't my fave KA Knight book.
DNF (did not finish). What made the book unfinishable in your opinion? I like sci-fi, romance, and reverse harems. I really did not like this book and had to stop at the 12% point. The book started out excellent and had me very intrigued. However, when the villain showed up it completely ruined the story for me. I appreciated the trigger warnings; however, they were not clear on what was going to happen. I would have preferred and more detailed trigger warning to what we actually got. When the main character was repeatedly degraded, beaten, and raped for not a good reason, this book lost me as a reader. I don't mind if you put dark content into books, but there has to be some point beyond just drama. It frustrated me because how did this world survive being ruled by naive rulers who would let an army into their fly space? I also didn't appreciate the vivid detail of the rape scenes. I think the author was going for a space opera but even for me the story was way over the top. Supposedly the Princess is some kind of warrior, but she makes terrible naive decisions, oh but wait after being tortured she suddenly grows a backbone and fights back? This book definitely was not for me and truthfully, I can't really suggest it as a sci-fi read or as a reverse harem. Even though I did not get far into the book I'm still rating this low.
You had me at Space, RH, and K.A. Knight. Bonus is that gorgeous cover!
I enjoyed the fekk out of this book! I knew I would because I always enjoy Katie's books. Don’t compare this to DOV though! They are night and day from each other. The alien smut in this book is next level 🥵🥵. Princess Saffron is a secret badass whose quick wit, intelligence, and political savvy save her, her Pack, her planet, and the entire cosmos. She experiences so much and grows into who she’s meant to be. She also collects some amazing men along her journey through space! First up is Kal, a legendary warrior who has been Saffrons' protector for years. Artyom the cyborg, is her shadow and constant companion. Then Sabre and Gunnar, brother soldiers who have trained Saffron. She saves Axzel from the fights on a prison planet, and finally Loch, a rebel general who fights by her side. All of these alien men are unique in their appearance, their demeanor, and their relationship with Saffron. But they all have their undying love and loyalty for their princess.
Rounded up to 3 stars. This is one of my most anticipated books of the year and unfortunately it didn’t live up to the hype that I had created in my head. I’m sad!
It was such an odd book because in between the spicy scenes it read like a YA fantasy book, and not in a particularly good way. I felt like I was either getting slight advancements to the plot or insane spicy scenes and there was very little in between.
I skimmed the last 20% because I wanted to finish and totally skipped the epilogue. I would say skip this one.
This was my first sci-fi RH & it was definitely worth it 🤩💓 I always loved going in blind whenever I read Katie’s books and now I wished there was a sequel cause I missed Saff & her hot space men 🥹💓
This author has such a way with words, I would literally read anything she writes. It can really be about selling blinds and I would be intrigued! ***** This world we dive into is in a whole whole universe. -literally! ⭐️ Princess Saffron has always wanted more. She loves her people, loves her planet but has always felt the calling for more. When her planet is attacked, it is a no brainer - she sacrifices herself for her people. To keep them safe. Now thrusted into the stars with enemies who want to hurt her and worse, she finds the strength she knew she had all along. She is finally able to fight back and when she escapes their ship, she finds herself crash landed on a new planet she’s only read about.
On this new adventure to get herself back home and to ensure her planets safety she finds herself intertwined in the middle of a federation war where she MUST help and aid at all costs.
“You don’t know what you are willing to do until you have no other choice…”
With her trusted men by her side, both new and old, can she help save the galaxy she loves so much? Can she be the Queen she’s always wanted to be or will she die trying!? *******
This book was full of surprises I was not expecting. The kidnapping, the Prisoner planet, the federation- everything. It was action-packed! Smoking hott. And definitely something you can’t put down. (And this book was thickk so that was definitely hard😂)
I loved the possessiveness of all of her guys. They were all so different and yet attuned to their Princess like they were all made for her! This is a stand-alone but I would definitely enjoy seeing more in this world!
I especially enjoyed the prisoner planet. That I’m itself was a pretty good story waiting to come alive!
*Overall 4.5/5 *Heat? 5/5 *Fast Burn *First person POV (all main characters) *MFMMMMM (6!) *Triggers? Mild *HEA? Yes
OMG, this was my first Sci-fi romance novel, and I honestly was so surprised by it. I got a couple offers to read this kind of books but I always said that it was not my cup of tea but, I said long ago that Katie is one of the few authors that I would honestly read even dinner menu wrote by her.
So of course I wanted to give a chance to this book. Like I said I was really surprised by how much I loved it. Will I read more of sci-fi romance books ? Probably, but they will not be my usual read. I am sticking with raunchy romance books.
This book was such a quick read. I swear to you, I finished 400+ pages in less then 24h. Every page kept my attention. It was a HEA so that was bonus. Not that I was not scared at some points of this book, but the end was refreshing.
I loved all of these characters. Let me tell you, there is a lot of characters and I loved every single one of them. Well, no that's a lie. I didn't like exactly 2 characters, but when you read this masterpiece you will know exactly which one 🤫 😉
I loved Saffron, she is such a powerful character. I adored her from the first moment I met her. Male characters and her love interest I will not comment. I will just say this. I want to steal all of them from Saff and keep them for myself.
In conclusion I really enjoyed reading and exploring this new book world. Ms. Knight did such an amazing work, again. But honestly, I never really doubted her.
KA Knight writes amazing contemporary books but I feel like her creativity really shines when she does a book like this. We already know that she is one of the queens of steam and this genre just added some of her creativity to the steam. I dont think I can expand on that more but if you know you know.
While I did enjoy the relationships, it is a standalone so there is a bunch of instalove. The plot and world building shine for me in this novel. Even better were the twists and turns that constantly kept you on your toes. While tensions were high, there were a decent amount of laugh out loud moments.
Unfortunately, I do have to leave my review pretty vague because I feel like this is a book that you need to read in order to understand it. I also don’t want to give anything away. I very much enjoyed this book, and I hope to see KA Knight releasing more book showcasing her creative side.
Was I hoping for it to be a bit more sci-fi? Yes. The characters are defintely very closely human, and other than it being set in space it was easy to forget they were supposed to be aliens. But this did suck me straight in and had me eagerly turning each page. The spice in this was SPICING. It has been a little while since I have read anything from this author (because RIP my TBR!), and I had forgotten how much heat and steam she writes. It honestly had me on the edge of my seat in parts, and I really loved the MMCs. I wanted a bit more time for the romance to slowly build, but ultimately they were shoved into very much a life/death situation so there wasn't really much time they could get to go slow.
Pre-release thoughts (2/2/22): I've had mixed luck with K.A. Knight's sci-fi books that I've read but I am quite excited for this. It's reverse harem and features what I assume is an alien abduction story. Plus that synopsis makes me wanna know more about this Princess. This comes out on 2/26/22 and I am happy that I won't have to wait long!
Wow, just wow. I actually can't get over how much I thoroughly enjoyed this book, it completely and utterly blew me away, you can say all the way across the galaxy. Every character synchronised together, they bounced off each other in so many different ways and I couldn't have asked for a more amazing ragtag group.
It's multiple POV and there is just the right amount of heated tension, and steamy scenes all intertwined into a beautiful story about all these characters from so many different backgrounds, all brought together for one sole purpose.
I have to admit that I am not a huge fan of Sci-Fi but I sure the heck will check it out if this author is writing it. Also loved that it is a stand alone and is RH, plus the author, I jumped on this. I was so glad that I did. This is hands down one of the best ones I have read. Granted I am not a huge fan of Sci-Fi but.....
The writing is, as always, top notch and has your attention from the get go. These characters were so fun to read.
Be prepared to set aside some time for this read, because you are going to want to read from start to finish in one setting. Grab this read fast!!!
What an adventure! Saf is an amazing and inspiring FMC with a strong moral compass. Her men are unique and from all over the universe. Each bringing something unique to the table. Really liked the story line that evolved from saving her people and trying to get back home to saving the galaxy from an enemy that most thought was be the good guy.

Loved this story. Was different with the variety of live interests and that keeps it all interesting. Love the heat and connections. This author always knows how to suck you in and keep you there. Nice to have a stand alone, too. Really good.
Ugghhhhhhh. I love her. All of her stories. This one was perfection. I laughed. SO MUCH. I cried (actual tears) I didn’t know what was going to happen- I was at the end of my seat and also always in rapture of the sexy times had. My gosh. Just. Yes.
This was better than the last KA night book I read because it at least tried to pretend it had a plot beyond mindless fucking. Saffron is insufferable but I honestly love Gunnar and Artyom, and what she does for Gunnar at the end was amazing. Read this for book club and will have an interesting time discussing it with them
Hot space fantasy. At some point you'll find yourself so deep in a field of corn you won't know which way is up. But the spicy scenes will get your spaceship going.
What an incredible world K.A. Knight has built with Crown of Stars! This book was a beast to read and it’s incredible story she has crafted. Crown of Stars had incredible world-building, similar to our favorite fantasy & sci-fi books and stories. It was amazing to read. Saffron is a strong, incredible FMC, who loves her men with her whole heart. Kal, Sabre, Gunnar, Loch, Artyom & Axzel are all so different but love Saff for who she is, her strength and her passion for her people. The action scenes and spicy scenes were out of this world and oh so good!!! Definitely recommend this new release by K.A. Knight to all science fiction, reverse harem lovers!!
