Crossing the Line Part One

Rate this book
***Warning***
Rating 17+, a 27,000 word novella and is first half of Crossing the Line.

Victoria doesn't have time for love after a bitter divorce. She's too busy. Her twin daughters are approaching puberty and her interior design business is expanding. So when Nick enters her life, she has to remember why she's too busy for a little lust. Which is difficult considering he's the contractor hired to redo her office. Besides, his tattoos and MMA past make him a poor candidate for a woman who's trying to level out her life.

Nick thinks Victoria's hot but doesn't want to get involved with a woman who has kids, much less one that's been hurt by a man. Too much baggage. He's sworn off relationships, tending to stick with one-night stands. Victoria is a client, one he doesn't want to cross the line with, but the more he's near her, the quicker his resolve weakens.

READ AS PART OF THE HEARTS ON FIRE ANTHOLOGY:

Another good read in this bundle, except it ends on a cliffhanger! Dammit! I'm so tired of those! This book was actually getting interesting and then...BOOM....it ends! I'm mad that I have to spend money for a part two! The only reason I am going to get it is because I really want to know what happens with Victoria and Nick. I need to find out if Helena sees that her dad is a scumbag and quits treating her mom, who is working so hard for her and her sister, like crap. I'm also wondering if more will be said about Halle, her cheating husband and Luke's love for her! There are just too many juicy little things that were left unanswered that I need answered!

WARNING: This is ONLY PART #1, it's a cliffhanger! This book is what I would call a taste. It literately is just enough to give you the background, let you get a feel for the characters and allow you time to see if you enjoy the authors writing style.

I really enjoyed this section of the book. I have already bought PART #2 and can't wait to see where this is going. This section set the scene for a heartbroken newly divorced woman to meat a hunky contractor with a rocky local bad boy history. It leaves of with you asking.. Where is this going? What's really holding them back? Will this last?

I can't wait to read the rest of the story and learn more about these neat characters! Thanks for the tease!

This is the 1st book I read by Samantha Long. This book's story line was okay. I felt sorry for Victoria. I liked how Victoria stood up for herself. I wish I felt more chemistry between Victoria & Nick. I didn't like the ending. If this story wasn't so short it would been to me.
