Savage Academy #1

Save One Thing: Savage Academy, Book 1

Rate this book
I have one simple no boyfriends until graduation.

I'm too close to my goal of landing a full ride to college to get distracted now.

Besides, I blend in better at the skate park than I do in the hallowed halls of Savage Academy, a boarding school for the rich and overprivileged, so staying away from guys hasn't been a problem…

Until him.

Beckett Savage. Coldly handsome. Forever brooding. I thought he hated me. His attempt to get me expelled two years ago would leave that impression on anyone.

But lately, Beckett hasn't been acting like he hates me.

He's watching me with his icy blue eyes, showing up everywhere I go, and getting between me and any other guy who dares to look at me.

When he lets me see beneath his untouchable veneer, I'm shocked at what I find.

Suddenly, my one simple rule is becoming complicated.

Giving in to my feelings for Beckett Savage could either be the beginning of something great… or the end of everything I've worked for.

Save One Thing is a standalone with an HEA. No cheating or Ow drama. Features enemies to lovers, a boy obsessed, and opposites attract.

“What kind of man would I be if I felt for you the way I do and still hooked up with other girls?”

This story truly leans into the "fiction" aspect, with characters that feel somewhat unrealistic, yet it was an enjoyable read. The third-act breakup felt unnecessary and the overuse of the c-word, while meant to emphasize the "bad girl" character’s villainy, was a bit excessive.

Set during senior year of high school, the tone is more in line with NA then YA. Features on-page intimate moments, including first experiences for both main characters.

“I am planning on following you off the ends of the earth.”

She cupped her mouth like she was telling me a secret. “The earth is round, Beckett. There’s no end.”

My grin widened. “Now you’re starting to understand.”

“I’ve never belonged anywhere until I belonged to you.”

I thought this was going to be a bullyish romance or enemies to lovers type, but it ended up being so much sweeter than I anticipated. I love a good pining hero and Beckett was just that. Luciana was amazing and they were great together. It was also nice to see Helen and Theo in this one. I adore Julia's writing and can't wait to read more in this world.

I'm a huge new adult romance fan, but most of the ones I read are drama filled, gritty, toxic, RH, bully, or dark. Save One Thing is none of those. It's a sweet, slowburn romance set in a boarding school between a boy whose last name is on the front door along with half of the buildings all over town and a girl attending high school on a field hockey scholarship. Though it's not what I expected, I enjoyed it nonetheless.

Beckett and Luciana are absolutely adorable together. They're each other's first love, and it's as cute as it sounds. Neither have ever been in a relationship before, and everything they do together is new and exciting.

Despite being from two different worlds, they relate to one another in ways they never have been able to with anyone else. Their connection is anything but shallow, and their interactions had me clutching my heart more than a time or two. Like with any first relationship, they stumble a little along the way, but never for long.

Beckett and Luciana's friends are around throughout the entirety of the book, and J. Wolf did a good job of making me interested in each one of them. Similarly, Beckett and Luciana's siblings and their respective other halves are also present. Their books already exist, and I'm definitely going to go check them out once I'm finished with this review.

New adult fans that enjoy sweet, low angst romance, this one's for you!

Story: ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
Trope: opposites attract
Angst: 😱😱😱
Smexy: 🔥🔥🔥

Absolutely beautiful storytelling - five HUGE stars! Save One Thing is an enemies to friends, friends to lovers, brother's best friend with two people actively avoiding emotional attachments who get attached despite themselves, lol. Julia Wolf's books consistently find themselves on my faves list because 1) she can weave a beautiful story, but most importantly 2) her characters that have so much depth they just rip out your heartstrings. Such a great storyline. Angsty with reason, rather than OTT angst for the sake of angst. Both of these characters are relatable, have depth, and grow both as a couple and independently. Luciana Ortega and Beckett Savage have definitely found their way on my faves of 2023 list ❤️ and provide the perfect step off point for what's bound to be a terrific series - can't wait to see what/who's next!

Beckett and Luc❤️
I loved it! Beckett and Luc first met when they were 13 yr old. She was so sweet to him he and he was so taken by her he came off rude. That wasn’t his intention at all,he was tongue tied, but that was the impression he left with Luc…a few years later and they are attending the same high school. Beckett was not on her radar at all BUT she was sure on his!!
Beckett has wanted Luc since he first saw her and it was time she knew it! She was only focused on school and her sports scholarship. No time for distractions like boys…
I loved how Beckett was so loyal to Luc! We finally get a H who is pining for years over the h and guess what…..HE DOESNT SCREW EVERY AVAILABLE GIRL😱 He wants her to have all his first🥰

Family drama: Luc’s mom is an addict living in a trashy trailer but she still loves her and tries to visit and take care of her…Beckett’s parents are rich and self absorbed.

Ow drama: There is this crazy bi*ch Bianca who wants Beckett. She SA him when he was drunk and passed out but his friends caught her and threw her out(tries to give him a BJ). He is disgusted by her😡Another time she kisses him but he throws her off him so fast and screams at her calling her names👏🏻👏🏻He was so upset that she took his first kiss away from him, but Luc saw it and was there to comfort him. She made up for it💋 Bianca gets what she deserves later in the book! Bye

OM drama: There are a couple guys who show interest in Luc which makes Beckett jealous. She isn’t interested in any of them. She makes it’s clear she is only a friend!
I love having a strong fl who wasn’t a doormat and a H who is all about his girl❤️

Dual virgins, Great epilogues showing us 5 yrs and 10 yrs out!
I look forward to he rest of the gangs books. I hope Rhy can redeem himself, I’m not a huge fan of his! I hope he isn’t the manho he portrays to be!! I love Delilah and she deserves someone amazing…

Reread, 2.5*

Bummer! On this reread I'm not as much of a fan 😔. They took long to get together, were together a couple weeks and then were confessing I love you. Now Beckett I understand, he's been obsessed with Lucy since he was 13 and never wavered but Luciana not so much. She thought he'd hated her and though they went to the same school she stayed out of his way. She kinda annoyed me tbh but that's probably because I know how obsessed he was with her, at 13 he promised he'd wait for her to be his first kiss ....and he did! He did lots of manueverung in the background to help her and she didn't even know. I loved Beckett.....the way this played out however I didn't enjoy

“What kind of man would I be if I felt for you the way I do and still hooked up with other girls?” He clucked his tongue. “I don’t know, but that’s not the kind of man I am. I have no interest in anyone else. It’s always been you.”

*** this author loves her third act breakup and it's so freaking annoying!!!!!! They already took forever to get together..... he's been obsessed since he was 13 and you're telling me immediately after she was hurt he decides to break up with her for her own good 🙄 stapppppppppppp it dear author!!!!!!!!! Please it's irritating AF!

3.5* not quite 4 but what the heck

Spoilers ahead
Original thoughts
I gotta admit the first half had me worried.... thankfully second part came in clutch

"I never wondered what being with someone else would have been like. It never crossed my mind. Loving Luciana was part of my physiology. It was something I couldn’t change—not that I ever wanted to.

I need to create an obsessed shelf just for Beckett 😂

Review
Beckett and Luc met as kids and had a bad first meeting, they've been around each other for years as their older siblings are friends. When Luc starts school at Savage Academy Beckett almost makes her lose her scholarship and that sparks their relationship.... staying away from each other. Until Beckett decides it's time for a change.

******
Listennnnn I thought this author had hit me a bait and switch 😂 Ivan was pure j/p perfection and absolutely devoted to his girl in book 3 so imagine my shock to see Rhys and Beckett acting like douchebags and seemingly hooking up with other girls....I almost DNF especially as they were friends with Charles who was a borderline creep....but I held on and thankfully things were not as they seemed!!
Beckett has been devoted to Luc since they say he met. When an author uses the phrase "it's always been you" THIS is what I expect!!!!!!!! Absolutely no one else even his first kiss was saved for his girl 🥰😍🥺
Obviously the way things seemed at the beginning was meant to throw the reader off and boy did it 😂😂😂
Usual family drama amped up a bit in this one as Luc's mother was an addict
Beckett gave me a couple jump scares when his j/p ness gave controlling vibes a little but thankfully Luc was no doormat
I don't get why he took so long to go after her though 👀
Kinda enemies to lovers as she didn't like him but babbyyyyy he's been working behind the scenes for his girl
Anyways fingers crossed on Rhys

No cheating

H was given a BJ when he was passed out drunk by a stupid bitch. He wanted no part of her

It's time to go back to Savage River, CA.
You may think you know this town, but Savage Academy is a world of its own. It's where the privileged from all over the globe send their kids.
It's also where Luciana Ortega-Whitlock and Beckett Savage coexist separately...until their senior year. Then all bets are off!

This is a very sweet high school romance. I don’t usually read romances set in high school but I just had to read this one. It was a sweet, slow burn with low angst (although I does have some darker themes so check tw). I love an obsessed man and Beckett was that and more. This man literally saved himself for her. He actually mentions how it wouldn’t make sense for him to be with others while he’s so infatuated with Luciana, and that’s how it should be! A lot of the time it feels weird having one of the MCs in love with the other but still sleeping around. That’s why I really like this author’s books. Her characters are usually respective of others. There’s no baseless other women shaming and the MCs respect each other. This one was one of her sweeter romances and was a nice change of pace.

Lovely to be back in Savage!

Savage Academy is going to be a great place to spend this new series. I loved that we started out getting to know our new cast of characters. Beginning with Luciana and Beckett, who we are familiar with as the younger siblings or previous couples.

Beckett had a quiet command about him and the secrets he's been holding back from Luciana are going to blow her freaking mind. I know they had me swooning at multiple points.

Luciana was bold and loving and though she carries some heavy burdens, I loved watching her warm up to Beckett. She has so much passion that she's been saving up and it just explodes when she's giving the right attention and time to foster it.

I also loved that she had the drive and determination in her sport and wasn't going to let anything get in the way of her future. Beckett is so supportive of that and the way he helps keep her on track may be controversial but I saw where he was coming from. (And I don't mind a bit high-handedness when it comes from Beckett Savage.)

Finally, I really appreciated how male SA was touched on, briefly in this story. SA can and does happen to everyone and we all deal with it differently.

This one was a bit slow to start for me, but that's understandable when introducing a new cast of characters.

This book right here has me up all night giggling and kicking my feet 🤪 but seriously, this is how you write childhood/teenage crush, I’ve loved you since I saw you! BECKETT😩😫🥺🩵🩵🩵🩵🩵 Beckett is my new favorite bbf simply because he was amazing, even when he wasn’t so amazing at the end a little bit, I still fucking loved him. And I loved Luc too. There was so much delicious (unwarranted) jealousy from them both, I just ate it right up.
I will say I kind of ignored the fact that it was high school setting because it didn’t really feel like high school. It felt more like college setting and they didn’t really act like high schoolers.
I loved that even when there was the dreaded third act conflict, it wasn’t drawn out or too annoying. I loved that Luc wanted to forgive him for pushing her away but also wanted to make him work for getting back to how they were. It was just really sweet
Warning this is a romance driven plot (😍) so there really wasn’t much “outside plot” so if you don’t like that, I would maybe not read this, but if you just care about the romance like me I think you would probably love this
The epilogue was amazing and I can’t wait to reread this. Literally everything about this book was perfect. And to think I almost didn’t read it because none of my friends had reviewed it yet

❤️Savage Academy with its very own Travis Maddox

❤️h: Luciana Ortega-Whitlock (Luc), sister of Soft Like Thunder’s Helen Ortega / Theo Whitlock in Savage U series bk 1

❤️H: Beckett Savage (Beck), brother of Real Like Daydreams’s Julien Umbra / Seraphina Ellis in Savage U series bk 4

🏴‍☠️h: levelheaded, in-the-know yet walks away from the safety of her friends at a bonfire full of strangers and baddies. I was just settling into the story nicely and now this. Knew it was too good to be true.

🏴‍☠️h: way too selfish, unnecessarily dramatic and quite dense when the situation calls for patience and willingness to listen and communicate. He deserves better.

🏴‍☠️h: somebody give this girl a brain. For fucks sake.

❤️H: Awww…he’s been in love/obsessed with her since he was 13 years old. Utterly dedicated to her and she has no idea because he kept it well under wraps. Not creepy like most stalker-like heroes I’ve read so far.

❤️H: he kept his first kiss for her

🏴‍☠️+❤️ow: is only an ow in her own skewered brain; she’s not even on his radar as a decent human being, never mind an ow. He ruins her evil life for messing with his h.
“When it comes to my girl, I am a berserker. I will tear your world apart, and I don’t care what happens to me in the process.”

❤️“I saved one thing for you, Beckett.”
“Give it to me,” he demanded.
I grinned, laughing lightly. My bossy Beckett.
“My heart. It’s yours. Be gentle with it.”
He went still except for his hand, which he spread on my chest. “I’ll wrap it in velvet and carry it with me always.”

❤️He literally follows her around the world:
“When I promised to follow Luciana to the ends of the earth, I meant it.
My promise turned out to be literal.
Luciana became a member of the national women’s field hockey team. I used my communications and marketing degree, as well as my family connections, to land a job working for Team USA.”

I forgot how good of a writer Julia Wolf is 🙈😅

Her highschool and college romances all really have something special, the stories, despite adhering to current tropes-centrisism, are always entertaining and a bit unique in their setting 🙌👌

The first half of the book was definitely 5 star worthy, but the pacing was really off in the second half. I disliked the fact they got together so quickly, then immediately had a miscommunication that led them to argue. Then they cleared the miscommunication, only to be served with third act breakup that was done for foolish and stupid reasons, and completely negated all that made the hero true to himself 🤡😫

Nevertheless it was worth a read, and I'm definitely intrigued in the series 🥳

Julia Wolf has legit written one of the best books I have read this year! Beckett and Luciana were everything I could ever want in a story and more. Just when you think this cast of characters in this universe are amazing and can'tbe topped (all standalones,) they just keep getting better and better.

Beckett Savage is mine. I claimed him and will never ever let him go. This story was absolutely incredible. This boy is beyond #boyobsessed and it was incredible to read. Without giving away any spoilers, just know that Wolf wrote an absolutely epic story that will remain a favorite for years to come. Beckett Savage is beyond amazing. He is perfect. He knew what he wanted and whatbhis end game was from the get-go and never let anything stand in his way. 5 outstanding Stars! ~Ratula ❤️

This was a pretty cute story and it was enjoyable to read. I'm not super in love with the Hero, though. He was just a little too obsessed with Luc for my taste. Just a personal preference but I didn't love how he followed her everywhere and didn't seem to have dreams of his own.

Overall, I liked getting to know these characters and I'm already dying to get more from the side characters.

when i read that this book was about a H that saved all his fisrts for the h i was sold, i should have gone blind into this so i wouldn't feel so robbed rigth now, what's the point of making him save his firsts for the h if the author will let evil ow steal it? it wasn't a "almost did it" the author actually let it happen, H&h first kiss was right after ow stole it, while they're kissing all i could think of was that ow succeeded in putting her lips on his, the same thing with the bj h gave H all i could think was ow doing it to him while he was unconscious and filming herself, the boy was traumatized and so was i.

and the third act breakup? the H had all this long plan to get h he was soooo patient that he came off as beta sometimes, all this just to in the end give up on her? now... i didn't like this h, because she goes around kissing everyone it was cruel that the H had to watch it, im latina and we kiss the air next to the person cheeks we only make skin contact if we are really close to the person and we definitely don't kiss people's lips so saying it was cultural was bs, but at the end i liked her more than the H because she didn't put up with this breakup bs.

while reading this 90% of the time i was unhappy and i don't read romances to be unhappy, i was fully expecting that the author would come up with something to get the evil ow on H's dick and steal his virginity too just for the drama, i think this author is just not for me she loves drama a little too much.

Just saw that H's best friend is the hero for the next book of this serie, so this does it, im really not this author target audience while he was a good friend to the H i never thought of his manwhore ass as a hero material ew.

New Adult romance is not really my jam, this is no secret BUT with that being said I found this book to be hard to put down. Beckett & Luciana were truly made for each other. The way he loved her was fierce, if not a little obsessive, but we LOVE that in this case. Luciana needed a love like that in her life. It was so fun to get to peek into the lives of some of the other Savage books characters and see how things were playing out for them since they all found their HEAs in other books. We also met a whole new cast of characters from Savage Academy and I am looking forward to seeing was Julia has up her sleeve for all of them.

This book can be read as a standalone, but if you want a little more insight into Beckett and Luciana I highly recommend going back and at least reading their siblings books. Luciana's sister (Helen) gets her HEA in Soft Like Thunder and Beckett's brother (Julien) finds his HEA in Real Like Daydreams.

I'm heading back to Savage River with the first book in Julia Wolf's new Savage Academy series, Save One Thing. Have you been here before? I've spent plenty of time in Savage River myself and was happy to see couples I loved from other books- an older Helen and Theo, as well as one of my favorites- Julian and Sera, living their best lives, several years into their happily ever afters.

After an awkward, starstruck Beckett Savage and an unimpressed Luciana Ortega met at age 13, I hoped they might find each other again at some point in their lives. Their circumstances were worlds apart- his family name meant money and power, while she lived on the wrong side of town and was barely scraping by. Finding them down the hall from each other in the Savage Academy dorms five years later looked like either crazy fate or bigtime trouble to me!!

SA is an elite co-ed boarding high school for the wealthy and connected, unless you're a scholarship kid like Luciana Ortega- Whitlock. She's as sassy as her sister Helen, had proven herself to be a leader as the captain of the girls field hockey team, academically strong and the quintessential good girl. Her eyes are on the ulimate prize, to finish her senior year with an athletic scholarship to a great college, with no time at all for boys. She's found her own tribe here- a collectively unique group of girls who have each other's backs, no matter what. I can already imagine a few fun pairings between friend groups here in future books.

Beckett lived a privileged life, but it was far from easy with a parents like his and the Savage name was a lot to live up to. From the outside, he appeared to have it all as the captain of the boys soccer team, his tight group of friends, with his future all mapped out for him. On this inside, especially around Luciana Ortega, his words tumbled out the wrong way and he reverted to that awkward, unsure young teen all over again. If she only knew what she did to him, but Luciana was clueless. Beckett was determined to make her see how much he cares for her, but, eyes on her prize, remember? She shouldn't make time for boys like Beckett- he hated her, didn't he? Will the good girl find time to be a little but bad with a possessive, sweet guy like him? He's persistent, irresistibly handsome and super sexy- the total package, but questions still remain.

Julia Wolf has once again created a new, but connected Savage world that spins off and grows from the others. Save One Thing gives us a taste of the sweet budding romance between older teen Beckett- obessed with love and Luciana- tougher to get through to, but maybe willing to give him a chance? This is steamy, romantic and adorable story, with some of the expected teen angst and drama when things don't go as planned. Overall, a great start to this new series. What's next for these Savage Academy inhabitants, Julis Wolf?

I received an early copy to read and review. My thoughts and opinions are entirely my own and freely given.

This was such a different book in a great interconnected series!
So glad to be back in this world.
This book was refreshing. He falls first, a tripe I adore!
Beckett and Luciana were so sweet but the steam was high.
Opposites, but they were destined for each other.
As always, the author builds amazing tension and the story flows so well. I inhaled the book and I cannot wait for more from Julia.
She never disappoints me!

I want to be persuaded by someone like Beckett Savage. I need to. When I started Save One Thing by Julia Wolf, I was ready for a new adult enemies to lovers good girl-bad boy romance. What I didn't expect and what just floored me was Beckett's absolute unquestionable dedication and devotion to his girl over years, even when Luciana wasn’t his girl. He saw her. He met her. He fall hard. And then he spent years carefully carving a place for himself in Luciana's heart. Can you imagine something more romantic? Luciana has been a rule follower had a plan for her life and that never included falling for the rich bad boy in Savage Academy. But even our commitment phobic, sassy and fierce girl couldn't resist Beckett.

It's not the usual new adult enemies to lovers story. It's told from dual POV so from the first chapter from Becketts POV we can see his apparent disdain or indifference for Luciana is just a mask for his obsession. And he spent the whole book making himself an irreplaceable part of Luciana's life. Methodically. Some would say he was being a stalker, a manipulator, a creep..but his emotions are so beautifully displayed here that I feel nothing but swoon for this boy. Luciana is not only a good girl, she is a good girl with strong opinion and strong willpower and stubborn ideas. She would have bolted if Beckett moved in too fast. But our boy was in for the long game. It was a pretty slow burn with all the beautiful feels and torture in form of slow build of the chemistry to the level of an inferno. Luciana really had no hope but to fall in love with our charismatic gorgeous boy! They had moments of heartbreak and angst because even the most perfect heroes make mistakes. But it was worth it!

- High school romance
- Sports romance
- Rich H vs poor h
- H obsessed
- Dual v (H saved all his first for h, but see notes)
- Ow/om drama
- Third act breakup

This book was good, but it is a high school romance, and those aren’t my things. But I’m giving this series a chance based on the reviews I’ve read.

H has been in love with h since he was 13. They now go to same high school, 18 years old. He’s been an asshole to her, but when you se it from his side, it’s so sweet.

Loves the friendship between the h and her girls.

Safety info:
OW drama from a girl multiple times, he isn’t interested at all, but she violates him twice. He saved all his first for the h, but ow, a mean girl, put her mouth on his at his party. He pushed her away and throw her out, but he was still so sad about what she’s done. I didn’t think it even was a kiss bc he throws her away as soon as it happens. He hadn’t even invited her, and always hated the girl. The h camed to him and helped him.
The same girl also sexually assaulted him last year, he was to drunk and she tried blow him when he was passed out, his friend walked in and stopped her, but not before she filmed herself. She got what she deserved. H never wanted anything with her, was repulsed by ow.

OMD1 tries to SA the h at a bonfire, H shows up and helps her.
OMD2 goes on a friendly coffee date, om is interested in h but she’s not dating. H picks her up from the cafe and gets jealous.
h kissed other men before, and likes kissing people on the cheeks, something the H is jealous about.

The third act breakup really pissed me off. He’s been crushing on her for 4 years and never looked at another women, only to break her heart and bee an asshole and ignore her after she alomst drowns - he pissed me off.

Luciana and Beckett were so different from each others and still they fell for the other one.

A sweet and steamy, enemies-to-lovers romance, Save One Thing is a perfect start to this author’s new high school romance series set in the world of Savage River! In this author’s usual fashion, her remarkable storytelling never fails to draw me in and keep me entertained from beginning to end.

Beckett and Luciana were first introduced to each other at 13 years-old and let’s just say they left rather interesting impressions on each other! With both attending Savage Academy for their senior years, it is near impossible for them to avoid one another. I found Luciana to be a very likable heroine. This girl has a plan and she is dedicated to achieving her goals and not allowing anything or anyone distract her! As for Beckett, I loved his character! He truly is the ultimate boyfriend with his swagger, protective nature, romantic notions, and also a touch of vulnerability. I really enjoyed watching these two navigate their feelings towards each other and witnessing their relationship evolve with every interaction between them. Misunderstandings, humor, romance, friendship, and even some angst are all prominent throughout the book and I love how the author expertly captures that essence of first love and all that entails.

This novel moves at a good pace complete with impeccable character development and a well thought out plot . As both Beckett and Luciana are 18 year-olds in high school, they do react and process their feelings the way one would except teenagers to. The secondary characters play integral roles within the storyline and I enjoyed the dynamic amongst them all. I am eager to learn more about each of them and am happily anticipating the future novels in this series!

Save One Thing is a spin- off from this author’s Savage U series. While you may recognize Theo, Helen, Sera, and Julien from the previous series, it is not necessary to read their novels prior to diving into this book.

I voluntarily read an early version of this new adult romance. All thoughts and opinions are entirely my own.

Cute read

3.5 stars rounded up, loved the characters but didn't end up caring for the climax. Glad there was no OW drama and that Beckett wasn't a playboy.

I was lucky enough to receive an ARC for this book and all I can say is WOW. I’ve been a huge fan of the Savage River universe and was beyond excited to find out about this new series!

I adored both Luciana and Beckett’s characters. I found myself relating to both of them in many different ways. I loved how Julia embodied this notion of the turbulent nature of young love. I felt so giddy and warm, reading about their feelings for each other.

The natural progression of their relationship along with their ability to acknowledge petty arguments and behaviours really sold me on this book. It’s rare that we see many main characters acknowledge their own faults and are self aware about their behaviours towards others. It was so refreshing to read. Overall, this book was an amazing start to the series, I can’t even begin to talk about my theories for the others!!

This is getting a bit lengthy now, but I’m just obsessed with them. All the characters have their own quirks and I’m so excited for the next book!! (I’m praying for a Charles and Evelyn coupling…she will change him — or maybe I’m just delusional :P)

Who knew I’d want to hang with 18 year olds, right? But here I am, absolutely loving Luciana and Beckett and their crowd. Even when it seems like Beckett is the biggest meanie to ever meanie, I have to like him. And then when I find out just how long he’s carried this torch, the lengths he’s gone to so Luciana remains in his life, and just how deep his feelings run, he gets added to the ranks of his brother and his brother’s friends. And trust me, I hold Julien and Theo and those guys in some super high regard.

I adore the chances Julia takes with her characters. There’s no OTT nonsense to make me feel like I’m in the middle of The OC. There’s no feeling of disbelief. There’s just the need to know all that Beckett and Luciana go through. Every emotion. Every deed. Every thought. I’m 100% here for all of it. Their friends are likely going to deliver some fantastic tales also, once their times come. And while Beckett and Luciana have a young love, they also have a true one. Or so it seems. They just have to weather the storm of anger and fear and near-obliteration of hearts to make it through to the other side.

This is clearly an excellent start to a new series, complete with some familiar faces to provide guidance along the way. And while this is high school, Julia does us all a solid with the very adult emotions and issues coming their way. I can’t wait for more of this series.

❤️Beckett and Luciana❤️ I’m crazy for a “he falls first” book. And let me tell you, Beckett Savage fell hard from the moment he met Luc. He was completely devoted and captivated by her, and went to great lengths to make her fall for him. This was an amazing start to a new series and I can’t wait to read the next one!!

3.88/5 “𝙒𝙝𝙖𝙩 𝙠𝙞𝙣𝙙 𝙤𝙛 𝙢𝙖𝙣 𝙬𝙤𝙪𝙡𝙙 𝙄 𝙗𝙚 𝙞𝙛 𝙄 𝙛𝙚𝙡𝙩 𝙛𝙤𝙧 𝙮𝙤𝙪 𝙩𝙝𝙚 𝙬𝙖𝙮 𝙄 𝙙𝙤 𝙖𝙣𝙙 𝙨𝙩𝙞𝙡𝙡 𝙝𝙤𝙤𝙠𝙚𝙙 𝙪𝙥 𝙬𝙞𝙩𝙝 𝙤𝙩𝙝𝙚𝙧 𝙜𝙞𝙧𝙡𝙨? (…) 𝙄 𝙙𝙤𝙣’𝙩 𝙠𝙣𝙤𝙬, 𝙗𝙪𝙩 𝙩𝙝𝙖𝙩’𝙨 𝙣𝙤𝙩 𝙩𝙝𝙚 𝙠𝙞𝙣𝙙 𝙤𝙛 𝙢𝙖𝙣 𝙄 𝙖𝙢. 𝙄 𝙝𝙖𝙫𝙚 𝙣𝙤 𝙞𝙣𝙩𝙚𝙧𝙚𝙨𝙩 𝙞𝙣 𝙖𝙣𝙮𝙤𝙣𝙚 𝙚𝙡𝙨𝙚. 𝙄𝙩’𝙨 𝙖𝙡𝙬𝙖𝙮𝙨 𝙗𝙚𝙚𝙣 𝙮𝙤𝙪.”

Excelente servicio.

“Beckett has been pathetically, pitifully pining over you for years. I have never seen him show even a hint of interest toward anyone else.”

thank you valentine pr and literary management for this arc! this book will released on may 11th!

this book was cute and sweet, but it just didn’t really hit for me. in general, the story itself was pretty good. personally, i’m not a huge fan of high school romances because the characters tend to be too immature for my liking which is something that i felt was applicable to this book. the story is sort of slow to get into but is a sort of childhood acquaintances to enemies to lovers story. i enjoyed beckett’s character a lot. i thought he was very sweet and very swoony, but some of the ways that he went about doing things did not make sense to me. and i don’t love act three miscommunication break ups. i didn’t love luciana at all in the beginning of the story. she seemed to be too snobby and too much of a goody two shoes for me to like her, but once she start dating beckett i did warm up to her character a bit. overall, this story was decent (a little slow) and i did enjoy the couple, but there were just a few personal things that i felt like inhibited me from liking it more.

Gahhhh, I am not sure how she does it but everything Julia Wolf releases is always so different to anything she has written before!

I love the drop-in of Hells, Theo and Madelina, also Sera and Julian. It 100% enhanced their story having their wonderful siblings around them.

But on to the actual story of Luc and Beckett. It was brilliant, so unexpected. Not going to lie, I got to a point in the book and thought “ok I can picture how things might end”.... Nope, not even close, freaking unpredictable. It has more curve balls in it than I can get on the Wii sports!

I loved their friends, I loved how Charles was called out for making fun of Delilah’s body shape even his friend. I loved how Bella and Delilah rallied around Luc; moreover, I really can not wait and I hope there is a story about Ev because I love her uniqueness already. I love Rhys, the guy is underrated, he has Beckett's back constantly, and even though he doesn’t necessarily agree, he still has his back.

Also, I am soooo glad Bianca got what was coming to her! She was an arsehole, a full one she-devil! I really hope she doesn’t get given a story I don’t think I could stomach it 🤢 she is a villain where redemption is not given, unless you pair her with Johnny she might get her Karma.

I can not wait for the next one 🙏 please say there will be a next one!
