Planes have been disappearing, and no one knows why. The public is starting to tire of the official excuses—engine failure, pilot error. Clearly something bigger is at work here. When mountain climber Amelia "Sky" Burke sets out to climb Everest without the use of supplemental oxygen, she has no idea that the expedition is preparing her for an entirely different battle. Meanwhile, a shadow organization operates within the NSA, and the man behind it will stop at nothing to annihilate everything in his way. Too bad Sky Burke is in his way....and she's also used to getting everything she wants. What happens when you're in the wrong place at the wrong time, but everything you do is right?
Warning: humor, cuss words (gasp!), references to drugs and sex, a Sun Tzu loving villain, and all manner of mayhem.
I actually just boarded a plane when I started reading this book, which was probably a very bad idea! However, I definitely loved the plot. Hypoxia had so many side stories that I would love to know more about the people in Sky's life. Ginny is definitely at the top of the list! A series, anybody??? I must mention that there were some minor editing changes needed that could heighten the quality of this book. While the author did a good job of creating suspense, I was a little bit disappointed with the ending. It seemed almost too easy for Sky and Ginny to take down the plan with Ryan Baker on it. All in all, I would grab the next book; I have no doubt White will not disappoint.
This is not my usual type of book but I really enjoyed it! Not too much gore, sex, unnecessary swearing, or vast quantities of technical details, all of which I really appreciated. Good range of characters- not so many it gets confusing but enough to keep things fresh and moving. Some bits were a bit of a leap - to believe certain characters could do things that way and develop that quickly -but the book was good enough I was completely happy to roll with that leap. Recommended!
Planes are disappearing, people are dying, and one pilot's wife, named Hallorand isn't buying the official line. Sky Burke, mountaineer, is back on My Everest, and Genevra Falcone, former CIA operative, now posing as an escort, all become involved in solving and bringing the secret government operation run by Foggerty to an end. If you like thrills, action, impossible to believe plots, then this novel is for you. Thanks for a great read.
I enjoyed this book very much. It starts slowly but the tension builds as you look for connections. There are some revelations and unexpected actions as things progress. Once you get about half way through there is no putting down the book so plan your time accordingly.
This was a very well written book with very few typos in it. When I first started reading it I wasn't sure how a mountain climber and The disappearance of airplanes could come together but the writer brought them together in a skillful way. It was an intriguing book and fun to read and I would recommend this to everyone.
I loved the characters and the pace of this book. My only issue was with part of the ending, but I'll let you make your own decision. It's worth the read!
Planes have been disappearing, and no one knows why. The public is starting to tire of the official excuses—engine failure, pilot error. Clearly something bigger is at work here. Lots of enjoyable action and suspense dispite the plot holes. Sky may be a "Mary Sue" but I still rooted for her like it was Saturday afternoon at the movies.

Thrill ride from the beginning straight to the end!
I gave this book 5 stars because it had everything I look for in a thriller. The storyline was unique, not the same old story. There were characters that you cared about and characters you hated. It kept me interested the entire book wondering where this would go next. There were story twists and turns you couldn't predict. And it was a thriller all the way through. Who could ask for more?
I originally was intrigued by the first third of the story, but once the main character escaped with her life from an airplane full of casualties it was VERY far fetched and unrealistic. Also this author abuses foul language. Every character seemed to be obsessed with gutter talk. No more books for me by this author.
