He cheated on FMC in the past and he excuses it that he was too young & his head got wrapped up with the fame/popularity & peer pressure. He was in college so NOT so young that he shouldn't know right from wrong. He not only cheated on her with one OW, but also throughout their entire 3 year relationship - and with most of her close friends.

Then in the present, he is engaged to OW and claims to be in love with her yet a few weeks/months before he gets married, he goes to FMC's Father's funeral of whom he was very close to in the past and begins flirting with her, kisses her and tells her how much he is sorry he hurt her and that he misses her. The doofus is about to get married to someone he is supposedly in love with and yet cheats on OW with FMC. 😶

Then back he hightails it back to his fiancée as if nothing happened with FMC and wants her (OW) to comfort him for his loss, give him sex and attention. However, his fiancée doesn't like whiny men and big baby that he is doesn't get a clue why she is pushing him away. Until that is a day before they are about to get married when he finds her screwing his Boss/owner.

Now in fictional romances, you would think he would break things off with OW once he sees the FMC again but here, not only doesn't he even think of doing so but doesn't even give FMC another thought. The fact he told FMC how much he missed her and kissed her, then goes back to OW and wants sex and comfort from her speaks how much this is anti romance and misleading. Shame on Author for that.

So to add more crap on this anti-romance, MMC states that OW cheated on him once before in their years long relationship and he forgave her the first time because it seemed he was getting back karma back of what he did to FMC in the past.

Then he leaves OW and goes to live with FMC because her BFF who is dating his brother, thinks it is a great idea for her to finally get closure as she has been hanging to her anger of what he did to her all those years ago (15 to be exact). Lol. Nice to have friends like her IMO.

So author's idea of "romance" is to give us a cheater who has no morals, loyalty and more staying power & love for OW then he ever did for FMC. He also excuses his behavior because he was young & didn't know any better. So what's his excuse in the present for cheating on OW with the FMC? Me thinks a leopard doesn't change it's it's spots.

And let me just add on a last note that I am so done with people who write this crap of constantly making FMCs as doormats and less than. Why was it necessary for author to have MMC find love & move on with OW when he was the one in the wrong and who betrayed FMC? Why did he never give FMC another thought yet FMC couldn't move one and find love as he did? At least she wasn't frozen but she went to sex clubs to get off and was into kink and all that shit - all because he ruined her life and couldn't get past the hurt & anger.

AND let me just add that she was not hurt or expressed any jealousy that he moved on with OW - nor all the others he slept with, because after she left his ass he sure didn't stay celibate and grieving the loss of her but of course that wasn't true for FMC as well. He sure didn't have any regrets or apologies for falling in love with OW and wanting forever with her.

Additionally, after he breaks things off with OW he is still kind to her and doesn't want to hurt her even though she cheated on him. Plus, he has the nerve to demand to FMC that if she doesn't get over what he did to her in the past, he will move on with his life and find someone else to love & have a HEA with. How swoony. Every woman should want a man like this. 🤮

Which makes you wonder how people come up with this stuff? Is this the author's ideal man? Is this what she thinks romance is? Is this her anger issues talking or what? Mercy people! 🥴🤢🤮

When I read the description, I was intrigued. But let me tell you this book is horrible. I hated how the female lead was cornered by her own best friend to harbour her cheating ex boyfriend and they end up together at the end. The forced proximity was utterly garbage. I hate men who cheat and then have audacity to come begging for second chance.
The male lead is trash. He cheats multiple times on the female lead when they were dating for the first time. Slept with all of her friends. She finds out and vanishes out of his life. Even after getting caught he didn't stop sleeping with other woman.
Fast forward he meets her at her father's funeral and kisses her despite being engaged to another woman. He was legit getting married to another girl and yet have audacity to say that he loves the fl.
I disliked the best friend Harper like anything. Just because you have a man doesn't mean that you should force your best friend to take back her cheating ex.
The ex even has the audacity to state
" I won't wait for you my whole life. You can't punish me for my past mistakes."

And Sam goes all emotionally manipulative
"if you don't take the cheating ex back he will marry someone else and down the line you will regret for not giving him a second chance."
I don't even know why people are even liking this plot. Seriously taking the douche ex back? Pathetic ending. And pathetic plotline
That one star is way too much than what this book actually deserves.

Second chance romance with an enemies then friends to lovers + forced proximity.
I didn’t like this one. I didn’t like how Pierre and Harper forced her to forgive and move on. And I didn’t like how Isabelle gave in. By page 97, I was bored and disappointed! I skipped a lot of chapters because I couldn’t get into the whole story and enjoy it.
Maybe it should be read as a standalone? I don’t know! It wasn’t for me sorry 😞

I buddy read this one and I thought it was okay. I left the book wanting MORE at the end to to FEEL the love but it was kind of lackluster.

Spoilers ahead (big ones)

This story kicks off in the present where Pierre is at Issy’s dad’s funeral and he kisses her in which she pushes him away.

They dated 15 … yes 15 years ago when he was starting to become a famous hockey player and moved in a frat and ended up cheating even with her “friends”. He was horrible.

She finds out, leaves him and lives in London for 10 years. Meanwhile he’s now engaged after dating someone for 2 years.

I have to say I am okay w cheating books if it makes sense and over here, cause it’s been 15 years, you can tell this guy is a completely different person. Yes he kissed her at her dad’s funeral and he apologised profusely for it but it’s her. Izzy. And he misses her.

Izzy in the meanwhile is very sexually free and has dated men. None matter to her which I didn’t like - how did he get engaged but she never could get over her love for him? It did feel like a slight imbalance thus the 3 stars in which for her I felt like she always harboured something and couldn’t be with someone long term but for him he “thought he loved” his ex.

That being said, she was the one who was cheated on so her insecurities could’ve played a role. But it did feel like she was holding on to him throughout the 15 years more than he did.

When he’s forced into her flat by her best friend, Izzy also is not easy on him. She’s angry and rude and really she decides she needs to let go of this anger inside her for herself cause it’s not healthy anymore.

This allows them to become friends and then more

I have to say things I liked:
- Izzy became a boss ass CEO and had lots of sex
- he’s clearly a different more calm man
- the tension was hot. Their scenes were 🔥
- the fact he cooked her meals when he moved out daily so she eats
- that after cheating he tries to find her and goes to London
- he is sweet and a hot H let’s be real which is why I was hoping for more love more romance
- the emotional moments where she told him in the plane how his cheating impacted her
- their slow build up to being together
- them living together , they had delicious scenes and they were both pretty likeable characters
- the love (though not as proven as I wanted it to be) was sweet

The things which gave it less stars
- it was quite a simple book to be honest which I didn’t expect … He was ‘patient’ with her but I don’t think by a lot despite what he says in the book. It’s been one month since he was last engaged. How is that being patient? He says he’s always loved her but I felt like it was more so that he ended up back with her not because he chose to come fight for her but rather circumstantial. I wanted to hear more about how hard it was for him and how much she is IT for him and he’s been an idiot. There’s alluding to it ie when he tells her he’s missed her and “I feel the same way” when she says I’ve never stopped loving you. And when after their first kiss in the funeral he says he feels freer for the first time in years. But it was tiny moments. We needed more here. Did he always love her? Was she always on his mind?
- I didn’t feel enough love in this book. It felt more like a pretty calm book honestly and that they kinda just started fresh. Even after the book ended I wanted to say where was the insane romance? The butterfly inducing moments? Him showing she’s his one and true LOVE
- Izzy decides to let go of the past at 90% (mind you one of my issue is that he’s saying she won’t let go but it’s been a month after he was engaged and he cooked her food but besides that I didn’t see this encompassing love or feel it… it was a simple sweet book in the end which used an angst trope)
- it was missing something fundamental. Something to make me swoon for him and know she’s it for him. That he has been thinking about her for 15 years. That she’s his LOVE.
- and I needed her to ask more. She pushed away in terms of letting them date, but once she gives in, it’s HEA. It felt quick too. He jumped from being engaged (okay albeit he said it’s been over a while) to being with her. Why didn’t she ask why he’s sure this time around? Why didn’t she want to know how he was engaged almost with someone else if he’s always loved her? Vital things missing
- they had their HEA which is fine. Do I think they’re the most in love couple? Nah

This felt more like a casual coming back together rather than a second chance romance. It left me thinking he would’ve been happy with OW if she was nice and supportive of him rather than selfish and rude like his fiancè. Or maybe everything happens for a reason and they were meant to see each other again to have their HEA. Idkkk I guess hah, If others had a diff opinion let me know! I’m curious.

I’ll give this author another try but I think I’m used to deeper emotions and reflection in my characters …

Even worse than I suspected after my doubts from reading the first book.

Not sure why I decided to give this a try considering how much I disliked the first book; I should have trusted my instincts.

There's a scene at around 54% of this that I would classify as bordering on sexual assault. Whatever the author intended with the scene, it doesn't work; the MMC, Pierre, initiates an intimate encounter with the FMC, Issy, and there is no indication that she is willingly participating and then she abruptly moves away. I didn't get an impression from the inner narrative from either character that it was a playful, flirty encounter that lead up to the moment, just the MMC being determined to do what he did. It was only after the FMC moved away that her inner dialogue referred to her being aroused and embarrassed. Very poorly executed.

Apart from that awful couple of paragraphs, I couldn't understand how Issy's friends and sisters were pushing her to get back with the guy who cheated on her during their 3 year teenage romance and broke her heart. Sure, Pierre made all the right noises about how regretful he was and never forgot her, but he was engaged to be married when initiating a kiss with Issy and the only reason he didn't go through with the marriage was because his fiance cheated on him. He doesn't come across as someone trustworthy to me.

I also had issues with how the author basically has Issy apologising for being so heartbroken after she discovers Pierre's betrayal - and don't get me started on Issy's bff, Harper, who witnessed Pierre in the act of cheating with another girl, sees how it destroys her friend and then expects Issy to allow him to stay at her house out of the blue over a decade later!! Absolute tosh.

Oh, a kicker was one peripheral male character being dismissive of Issy's reluctance to trust Pierre by observing "women overthink things".

This was dripping in misogyny, dubious consent and unlikable characters.

I regret picking up this book 💀

I liked book 1 of this series, I knew what type of book I’m picking up but I think it was not edited… at all.

75% of the story is lacking any connection between the main characters, she really really hates him, they haven’t seen each other for 15 years and one page they still feel familiar, but the on other page “they are different people now”.
Add to that that he was totally forcing himself on her. Thankfully he stopped once she said “stop” but still he was crossing boundaries multiple times.
Harper is the worst friend ever. Girl, what?…
75% is based on how Issy can’t forget the image of his cheating, but then this issue kinda disappears overnight, they start they sex-a-thon, a week of being blissful in love but obviously they had to break up and have all unnecessary drama 20 pages before the end.
The end was weary weird. A lot of action forced into a couple of pages.

Poor execution, worst second chance I’ve ever read, weird pacing, and definitely lack of editing. There were even obvious commas missing… and that’s coming from someone who doesn’t pay that much attention to spelling errors or commas, AND I was skimming some parts but still noticed the missing commas.

I loved Pierre and Issy's book.

I absolutely loved HEART ON ICE from Author JA Low even more than Book 1, LOVE ON ICE. I have a soft spot for second chances and for those redeemed heroes who man up and endeavour to work their backsides off to regain the one they’ve still loved forever. Pierre St. Pierre (PSP) appeared to have everything he ever wanted in life but we come to find out that he still loved and missed Issy, his sweetheart from college whom he'd cheated on, never thinking that they wouldn't speak again for 15 years.

Yeah, we got a small enticing glimpse into their story in LOVE ON ICE where Pierre's younger brother Felix met and fell in love with an older woman Harper, Issy's best friend from the same college. They were attending Pierre's disaster non-wedding and helped him escape and hide from the scandal – to Issy's apartment! 😬 It's not imperative to read book one first, but believe me when I say that it improves reader experience!

Amid a Forced-Proximity trope, Issy and Pierre have a lot to unpack and where he did a lot of soul searching, it was those reflective moments that pinpointed exactly why I love the first person dual POV that romances are typically written in. I simply adore the inside skinny on a character’s thoughts, especially when they dig deep just as Pierre did when he realised as a young man sucked into the downward spiral of his own fame and the damaging college hockey culture, just what his behaviour had cost him. Even worse, finding out the impact of his behaviour and it's cost to Issy's confidence really knocked him on his backside.

The poetic irony was, he realised being on the receiving end of that behaviour wasn't so flash either;

“I don’t know what I did wrong for her to cheat.” He stills. “(Sheet),” he curses, raking his fingers through his hair. “That just hit me. I get it now. I don’t understand why Kitty cheated, just like you didn’t know why I did it. I’m sorry. This (suggs) being on this side.”

We've met Issy many times throughout the various series that Ms Low has written and each does stand-a-lone, but I am merely pointing out that I love the interconnectedness of her fictional world. She's a tough businesswoman throughout, and her character stayed true. She loved Pierre hard, he broke her heart and confidence so she moved to Europe while they were young, and in reconnecting with her sisters in HEART ON ICE, we also see the effects on them. All of these dynamics give this book a deep story-line and make it a favourite of mine.

As much as I love the normal heat level Ms Low has going on in her books, and believe me they are h-o-t, I did enjoy this one more. It was a slower burn as compared to her usual pace due to the nature of the book, but that is not to say that wasn't some super-salacious moments happening, because there was!!!! Hell's teeth, the fore---play going on between these two was next level awesome 👀👀👀

PSP also ramped up the heat by taking extreme advantage of his force stay within Issy's apartment by remaining shirtless, insisting on doing her laundry (imagine him finding the contents of the dirty washing hamper 😈) , making coffee and cooking dinner. Oh, and did I mention that the muscled and toned hockey god never wore a shirt!?!

Any good woman would take advantage of the perks if said hockey god insisted that she should.

I loved it all. The chemistry between PSP and Issy was smoking hot, and the witty banter between them was a work of literary art. I recommend that you invest well in your reading time and this book out. 5-hot-and-toned-hockey-god-Stars 🖤🏒💙✦

So, Pierre and Felix are both professional hockey players. If you haven’t read the first book, you may want to. It’s not a necessity, but there are a few things that might make more sense if you know the backstory. These are quick, entertaining reads, so why not? Oh yeah, these books also run simultaneously so if you have read book 1, no, you are not losing it. Some things haven't happened yet.

Ok..formalities over..Pierre. Pierre and Isabelle were each other’s first loves. But things didn't end so well. So not well, that’s it’s been 15 years and Isabelle still can’t stand the sight of the guy. And with her best friend kind of dating his brother, keeping him away isn’t going to be easy. Issy, her sisters, and friends, are all team Issy and know not to speak about the person who shall not be named..Pierre. So you can imagine, Issy is shocked and blindsided when Harper and Felix show up at her doorstep, Pierre in tow. No..just no!

Pierre is living the life. A pro hockey player, good team, engaged to be married..except something hasn’t felt right lately. His fiancée Kitty, she’s been acting off, always gone, never there when he needs her. Everyone says it’s the stress of the wedding but he’s not so sure. He pushes through but as each day passes, in his gut, he knows..something feels wrong. Each time he tries to bring it up, even trying to back out of the wedding, Kitty has a way around it. That is until they are in Italy, the night before their wedding, when it all comes crashing down. Now he’s in NY, standing at the door of his first love, she despises him, he can’t go home, he can’t go out, his career might be over..just everything is imploding.

Pierre and Isabelle have a very complicated past. But in Pierre’s eyes, he’s a different man, he has changed, he has grown up, it’s been 15 years! He wants the past to stay in the past and wants to move on. But in Issy’s eyes? That isn’t at all what she is feeling. It may be 15 years later but every time she sees Pierre, she is right back to that terrible night; reliving the hurt, pain, and heartbreak. And it’s going to take more than one talk or one nice gesture to let it go.

Between the families and the friends, lots of interesting aspects through the book and series. Some of them we know through other books and some we are getting to know. Maybe setting up for other books? Irregardless, great world building and interconnections. Both Felix and Pierre’s stories were quick paced, adult, and entertaining. Love the support all around from the characters.

Feels like a lead-in… expected more

I’m so torn with this book. I’ve every single JA Low story so far… and being a huge hockey fan and love the first Manhattan Mavericks instalment, I was really excited for this one.

Pierre St. Pierre had already gotten me so intrigued so I was ready to delve more deeply into Issy and Pierre’s reconciliation… but I struggled. And I hate to say that because honestly, this author is so good. But this one just kind of fell flat. And I think I know why.

Having read all the closely linked books, I think it all became a bit too much to work out where everything pieced together. This book and the first book run pretty much alongside each other and that I feel, made it confusing and a little disjointed. A lot of plot lines had already happened in Felix and Harpers story, so my brain was trying to remember characters and information instead of just getting into the story of Pierre and Issy.

That aside I was also so frustrated with Issy. She’s a hard character to read so no wonder poor Pierre was in a constant state of flux. And we all know these friends with benefits deals never stay that way. As for Pierre, that guy deserves a medal. He’s such a sweetheart and he does everything to show Issy that he’s a changed man since their college breakup. But she’s stubborn… ok, understandably so, I admit… but she blows so hot and cold (pun absolutely intended). The man is a Saint - quite literally. I did actually start to think that he deserves so much better. I just constantly wanted her to get out of her head and move on. You’ve let him out the box you put him in. Either let him go or pull him close.

Furthermore, the end felt rushed and a little flat. As I’ve mentioned, much of what happened we already knew, so in effect this is just another persons point of view of the same situation. I don’t know, it just didn’t work for me… and it makes me so sad.

This book really does feel like a lead-in. Bringing in new characters to further the series and I’m definitely down for that… I just wanted a bit more. I liked it… and I love the way the stories intertwine but sometimes when they overlap within timeframes it muddies the waters.

I’m still a huge fan, but I’m hoping the next one will be more like the other books that I’ve loved so much.

I thought Book 1 was something special—but this one? This one hit even deeper.

This story isn’t just about rekindled love—it’s about growth, forgiveness, and learning that sometimes, the heart can find its way back… even after all these years. A standout second-chance romance that had me hooked from the first page to the last. Highly recommend!

Second Chances are fun for me because I love how they know each other as kids and now as adults. 15 years ago Pierre St. Pierre broke Issy 's heart in the worst way and she fled to London for 10 years. All this time she harbors this hate and also love for this man who ruined her and she's never been able to move on. When he shows up at her front door with her best friend as a runway groom she soon discovers that her feelings for him are about to bust out of the box she's kept them in. She wants to hate him and guard herself from future heartbreak again but it's hard when his fluff ball and his big heart start to wear her down.

Pierre knows he made the biggest mistake of his life when he broke Issy's heart and cheated on her in the worst way. He's tried so many times to tell her he's sorry and now that they have to live with each other while he hides from his own cheating fiance he knows he has one shot to show her he's changed. He wants her and knows she feels the tension between them, but how does he prove to her that he's not that thing dumb, egotistical boy from their past. He feels like he deserves his karma and is starting to see how she felt all those years ago even though he's never loved anyone but Issy.

This love story shows how much people can change and what happens when family trauma affects our choices especially when we're young. You can feel his remorse in the pages and how much pain they are both in. Yes there's a bit of hockey, but it's mostly navigating this lock-in they are trying to survive while he hides from reality. During that time they explore each other and get to know one another again. I really loved this story. I do need to go back and read Nate and Camryn's story now.

Seriously, if you read the first book in this series, Love on Ice, then you already know what happens in this book because it’s his brother’s book that takes place during the same timelines. Sometimes those kinds of stories that weave in and out and have check points when all characters and storylines merge can be really entertaining(and well done). Not in this case. I kept reading this book thinking to myself, “why am I making myself finish?” and “haven’t I already read this?”

I’ve read so many of this author's books and really enjoyed them. The Paradise Club series? Outstanding. The Playboys of New York series? Great. This series isn’t doing it for me, and I love hockey romance. Also, if this kind of thing bothers you there are so many typos in this book. I stopped counting at 25. I always go through and highlight them(on Kindle Unlimited). And you know how it shows you like, 800 people highlighted? I wonder if the author can see my highlights and notes.

If you’ve made it this far(and didn’t read book 1 or don’t remember it) and are still wondering about the plot here it is….

When he discovers his fiance is sleeping with the team owner at his rehearsal dinner in Italy, he calls it off and demands a trade. He hides out in New York while his PR and management friends(and ex GF) are trying to get him traded to his brother's new team in NY. In the meantime he's hiding out at his ex's place who hates him because he cheated on her multiple times during their first relationship and broke her heart. Now all her friends are pressuring her to get back with them.

I always look forward to a new book from J A Low, so have been looking forward to reading this - & it did not disappoint!

Issy & Pierre first got together years ago in high school, but broke up when Pierre’s career as an ice hockey player started taking off & he was enjoying too much attention - especially from female fans. Heartbroken, Issy left for Europe where she completed her studies & worked. Years later, after finding his fiancée with another man at the wedding rehearsal dinner, Harper (Issy’s friend) helps Pierre leave Italy & return to New York & takes him to Issy’s home to hide out there as it’s somewhere where the press won’t find him. It’s not easy at first, but gradually they get used to the living situation and are forced to reflect on their relationship now. I loved that Pierre had grown up & become more self aware; he wanted to understand & was genuinely sorry for the hurt he’d caused her, but gave her space to work things out. I also liked the way he tried to make her life easier, & Frankston, his therapy dog, was a great addition & added a fun element with his antics.

I really enjoyed this book. Its a good story with the unfolding drama around Kitty, Pierre’s self-absorbed ex-fiancée, & her antics, as well as Issy & Pierre working out their relationship & Pierre finding his next career move. It’s a great read; it was good meeting up with characters from other books by the author - I love the way she has created a world where characters from different books know each other, & you meet up with some old friends in almost every book.

Now that they are under the same roof, stirring up a lot of unresolved issues and the chemistry is palpable. He is wanting a second chance, but she built walls, 10 foot tall to protect her and her heart. Will Pierre be able to prove himself to Isabelle or will she keep her heart in the box that she locked it in years ago?
I really enjoyed the book. JA brought me to tears before I got too far into it. She kept me in the rollercoaster throughout the book.

This is the story of Pierre and Isabelle, the second book in the Manhattan Mavericks series. It is heavily interconnected with Love On Ice, the first book in the series, which is about Harper and Felix. Felix is Pierre’s brother. It has been some time since I read the first book, so I feel like I need to do a quick refresh. There were also some characters from other series, but this book can still be read as a standalone.

Regardless, this was an entertaining, quick book to read. I don’t think it is as spicy as some of the other books I have read by this author, but nevertheless, there were some steamy, hot scenes. Pierre and Isabelle dated when they were very young, and she caught him cheating on her at a party. Isabelle goes away to London and doesn’t come back permanently for 10 years. Fast forward to the present, Pierre is engaged to be married and catches his girlfriend having an affair with his hockey coach. Pierre decides that the best place for him to hide is in NY at Isabelle’s house.

Throughout the book, we witness the conflict Isabelle has about forgiving him for what he did 15 years ago and trying to understand what she did wrong back then. Meanwhile, Pierre never felt good enough and recognizes that he has matured and his behavior back then was not acceptable.

I definitely want to see what’s coming up next in this series since I’m now invested. I highly recommend this book!

Typical JA Low — always releasing 5 star romance books! And, Heart On Ice is no exception.

The first time I met Issy and PSP in Love On Ice, I just knew that if they get their own book, I would absolutely love it! And guess what? I was right! I was just rooting so hard for them! I cannot count how many times this book had summoned the butterflies in my chest! The longing and the fireworks between the MCs are just blazing and raging that I got deliciously burned page after page after page!

I surprisingly find this latest release a little tame compared to JA Low’s other works. I had expected chapter after chapters of unworldly sexy scenes, but this book is rather packed on flavorsome emotional rollercoaster between Pierre and Issy. It made this book so interesting and passionate in a different level.

I love how the timeline of this book overlaps and mixes with the first book of the Mavericks Manhattan series and the Paradise series. It gives the series and the book a “real time” vibe which is one of a kind in the romance books world.

I can wait for future JA Low books!! I enthusiastically added Heart On Ice on the JA Low five star collections!

Love the opening paragraph, had me laughing out loud, it really sets the scene.
Isabelle’s banter about Pierre, her inner monologue of name calling like f-boy - It’s absolutely perfect.
We saw the Italian wedding fiasco in the last book, this continues on with the insider details. Those nitty gritty bits that were not revealed in the previous book and I am so here for it. It also explains the after effects it has on this group of friends and their lives.
The meticulous way the storylines of this authors books are intertwined is honestly phenomenal, so detail oriented that it’s mind blowing how it all links together.
I adored seeing Camryn and Nate cameo, and other past beloved books characters.
I really enjoyed the New York edge to the details in this book, especially the fashion and lifestyle touches.
The relationship journey was mesmerising, love the will-they / won’t-they aspects and the steamy scenes were hot AF.
What girl could resist a semi naked PSP, the home cooking, the breakfasts and a golden fluffy pooch to give welcome home kisses - total package.

Heart On Ice is book 2 in the Manhattan Mavericks series. This is a series that needs to be read in order, so make sure to start with Love On Ice. Even though they are standalones each book overlaps which is giving more substance to the story as a whole.

After the way through first book in the series ended I couldn't wait for Pierre’s & Issy's story.

I am not a fan of second chance romances where the MFC doesn't make the MMC work for forgiveness. Issy definitely makes Pierre jump through all the hoops to gain her forgiveness & a second chance with her. But I also enjoy how she had her own issues & insecurities to overcome from the past.

I love how we got to see the characters that we fell in love with in the first book & get to know them better.

I have been left excited to discover what happens next in the series.

Pierre and Isabelle - what a couple! What a book!
I honestly could not wait for Pierre’s story since he ran away from his wedding in Love on Ice and I was so ready for this second chance romance.
She didn’t make it easy for him - she was definitely stubborn when it came to Pierre which was understandable (he completely broke her heart) and I don’t think either of them ever recovered. But when Pierre appears at her front door along with her best friend and his brother their forced proximity after not really seeing each other for almost 15 years hits Isabelle hard!
They talk, they hash out the past and then we are hit with friends with benefits!
I loved that we saw what was happening with Felix and Harper as I loved them!

I was disappointed it ended and to be honest I wanted more

Ok so let’s unwrap Pierre. Ok I can totally see where so many of you saw him as this sexy man who fought with all he could to get the second chance he wanted with the woman he loved. Am I right yet I just couldn’t get past that little fact of all the cheating. You guys omg he cheated on her so much and with her friends that’s a lot. Then waltzed back on her life in a difficult day and kisses her while engaged like really dude. I guess he didn’t change much from his college years. I just couldn’t get on board with him. I tried you guys I really did . Don’t get me wrong there was so much of the book I enjoyed and I know so many of you will love this book it’s just not for some one like me who is a bit troubled by cheating. The author did a great job so if you don’t have the same problems I do then grab it and enjoy.

There is romance and then there’s convenience.

MMC is a selfish serial cheater and I didn’t even feel his remorse. He basically cheats on FMC with the OW and then the OW with the FMC.

She forces the FMC to forgive him cause otherwise “he will move on with his life”

I don’t understand authors that don’t like women. Like, WHY a cheater, fell in love, moved on with his life, was almost married & the FMC couldn’t move on? She was the one who got hurt. Why have a doormat as a FMC?

And with terrible friends as well, cause my best friend WOULD NEVER though that if a GOOD IDEA do someone I dated, cheated on me, hurt me, moved on with his life, never though about me and basically he ain’t feeling that bad about it, to MOVE IN in my place so I could “get over my anger”.

This is not your typical JA Low book, this book is a delicious slow burn, low spice, and emotional book.

Pierre and Isabelle's story is a roller coaster of emotions, it will leave you breathless! It was nerve-wracking.

Pierre is the grovel master, this man fought for Isabelle, and at the same time, he gave her space to heal, never letting her forget that he was waiting for her.

Isabelle was strong and fierce and she had the biggest heart, she was compassionate even though Pierre had broken her heart years ago.

The banter between these two was amazing, explosive, and HOT!

This book is about healing, forgiveness, and second chances Love always wins, right? 😌

2nd in the Manhattan maverick series were we meet Pierre and Issy, we met them in book 1 as Pierre is Felix’s brother and issy is harpers best friend.

Pierre and issy story is a second romance after these 2 were teenage sweetheart until Pierre cheated in collage 15 years later he turns up on her step after fleeing his wedding after discovering his wife to be cheating.

There journey is a little bumpy with heart felt conversation of there past, the banter between them is cute.

I always like seeing people from other books even better we get to see a little bit more of Sam rose, Kimberly,Cameron and Nate.

Looking forward to seeing who is next in the series

Hot ice Mavericks

I was waiting for this book for so long. I so enjoyed Felix and Harper's story. I have to say I was a bit disappointed with the story line when it took a turn with Kitty and Bill's involvement, that gave me too many similarities with Felix story, prior to Harper. However I enjoyed Pierre and Issy's love story.
I was happy to see Nate and Camryn make an appearance, along with Felix and Harper. I am excited to read Sam and Kimberley book hope it comes soon. I was even more excited that Simon got a nod in this book, but I want his story. I want all their stories.
I love me some JA Low books so good.

Heart on Ice is the 2nd book in the Manhattan Mavericks series and I recommend reading the books in order, since some events that are referenced here are described in greater detail in the previous book. Izzy and Pierre's story is a second-chance-at-love romance with a 'what goes around comes around' vibe as Pierre learns the hard way how it feels to be cheated on. There are spicy sexy times, some grovelling and ultimately, a fairly abrupt HEA for the couple. I received an early copy of the book and am leaving this review voluntarily and honestly.
