Crew Fraternisation is Knot Advised. Valentina Kova is a space ship pilot, a robotics genius, and... a late blooming omega. After a not so stellar introduction to her new crew, she doubles down that she will never let her omega take control. Henry "Commander" Wryworth had fought to prove his alpha mettle from the day he was born the heir of the star fleet admiral. Nothing will distract him. Certainly not the omega he'd give up his rank to have if she so much as half smiled at him. The rest of the crew, alphas Kekai "Starhead" McCool and Buzz "Ghost" Alvin, and betas Josh "Butler" Manners and Logan "Chai" Vasquez, have a long mission ahead of them. Too Bad this Crew is Knotty The question Just how much trouble are they going to be in when a burning hot meteor throws them all out of orbit... and into each other?

This was a really cute read! I really enjoyed how distinct the various characters were and I look forward to reading more books if this becomes a series!
I think this would have worked better for me if it had been told chronologically. And the characters didn't seem to speak to each other enough to learn that they wanted and liked and loved each other. Their packing up felt like it was all based on scent alone - and some hot sex. Also, didn't love the angsty (and whiny) Beta. Too much "space" stuff and not enough relationship stuff. This also features an Omega that doesn't want to be an Omega which is never my favorite to read. I'm sure others will like this more.
Last year I wrote a review about an orc series, I believe it was all 'if you only read one orc book this year, let it be this one.'
Well.
If you only read one omegaverse book this year, let it be this one. This shit was bananas funny to my brain, and when I finished it and looked at the author's previous books--THAT MAKES SENSE. She wrote THAT orc series I was so enamored with. She writes SUCH engaging books!
Plot? Lovely. I loved the time spent planet-side, I would have loved a touch more detail about that, because that fascinated my brain. But, I will say this book would have been a 10/10 if it stayed chronological. I felt like a lot of the foreshadowing text didn't align with how the characters actually developed later on. Nerd felt more...aloof than she was by that point, and Logan DEFINITELY knew that crew was packed up, he's not dumb. Anywho, just didn't make sense when you compared them back. Having the pace being chronological from get would have solved that problem, and I don't feel like the 'oh no, flare' information was important enough to get immediately--especially when the payout for that knowledge was at 65% of the book.
I will say I loved the sassafras. But I loved that with this author's orc books. The characters feel like tangible people, so I heartily respect that. Even in a romance sub-genre worlds away, she's still got the ability to shelf reader disbelief in favor of the story.
DO NOT SKIP THE BEGINNING BITS. I laughed so much. Read the Foreword--even if you're a master at Omegaverse, that shit was funny. Read the content warnings, there's some gold in there too. I'm all about a solid chuckle or two.
Merry reading!
TO BECCA: 2025 is yours. Fuck that guy, you're worth diamonds and he deserves cyanide.
Such a different OMV setting than what I'm used to. I've read alien OMV but this wasn't that. Literal A/B/O astronauts instead? So fun. The content warning alone made me laugh, which is how I knew I'd enjoy the humor in this one, and I was right.
This is a sloooow burn on the romance between the FMC and the MMCs, but a fast burn on the romance between the MMCs.
I really enjoyed it a lot. The only reasons my rating isn't higher are:
1. It didn't really have a story arc. We're teased in the first chapter with one character's thoughts then something going wrong that might put them in danger, then we go back in time to when they were put together as a team and get fast glimpses of their months together until we get back to that thing that was going wrong. So the whole story was basically just glimpses here and there until we got back to that huge event that changed everything, so it didn't really feel like a whole story. This made more sense to me when I read the author's note at the end that the book was going to be a short story that started with that huge event, bc I could tell the other stuff was written just to give us enough backstory to get us there. But I wanted more, which brings me to the other reason:
2. The relationship development wasn't there. The MMCs seem to just fall into a relationship because we're skipping weeks/months at a time in these glimpses we get, and then they all seem to just fall for the FMC and her for them, but we don't SEE most of it.
This had the makings of a 5-star book, but didn't quite get there for me.
Regardless, it was a fun and fresh read in a genre where I've read it all. I appreciate the new setting and will definitely read any others that are put out in this series. It left it open for more to come so I'm excited.
This was a really good, well-written Omegaverse story. It was both cute and steamy, while set in space. I loved all of the characters. Valentina is the omega, and she is a brilliant pilot and robot builder. She is the only omega in a space crew with 3 alphas and 2 Betas. The alphas are all amazingly written as well, with Starhead being my favorite. The Betas play a very important part of this story, and both Bishop and Chai were favorite characters of mine. The ending was laugh out loud funny, and definitely a great way to end their story.
I hope we get to see more Omegaverse stories from this author.
I think it was a good book. It was definitely on the sweeter side, and I just feel like all sweet books like this will always be like a 3-3.5 star and this one was no different. It was really unique though. Not only is it an omegaverse but it is set in the future and in outer space! So, it is crazy. I just wish we had a little bit more drama but since it is a sweeter book I'm not shocked that we didn't dive deep down that rabbit hole. Plus, if you're curious about omegaverses this one would be a good one to start with because not only is it on the sweeter side and ends with an HEA but the author does an amazing job at explaining how the whole omegaverse system is going to work in here.
And also super funny. These were great characters that played really well together. I'm not sure what I was expecting but I stayed up all night to finish it because I was having such a good time. I'm going to go check out her other books now in the hopes that they too are full of smut and snark. P.S. ADORED the robots!
What a great idea most omegaverse is set at alternate times, sure, but space travel and forward to what could be more.. I love that its not like you've read before! P.s. starhead for the favorite💓
What a sweet and spicy story. Such a low angst, easy read. Each character is unique and quirky in their own way and there is whit and humor in the writing. This is my first read by this author and I will be reading more!
I'm not sure what I was expecting with a space-themed omegaverse book, but I'm obsessed and need more! This was such a sweet and light read, and I loved every character. I'll definitely be reading more by Becca!
“Knot Advised: Bite or Flight by Becca Saylor is sassy, spicy, and full of heart. The banter crackles, the heat burns, and the sweetness sneaks in just when you need it. A wild, addictive omegaverse read from start to finish.
Kinda needed more to it, not flushed out well. Didn’t really understand the relationship dynamic between her and Butler. They had no relationship buildup imo. Heat scene was barely there. It was kinda boring but good premise overall
I think this is the first omega in space I’ve read. The story is so good. I didn’t like that C was left out of a big chunk of the book. But everyone got what they wanted.
Fluffy outer space omegaverse. It was sweet and loving, and adorable. It had a moment of a weird time hop at the beginning which threw me off a bit but overall a good book that I enjoyed.
