sprig: desire, nomadic sojourns creative collective's second special issue to hit the shelves in 2014, brings you desirous wanderings and writings by Jamieson Webster (psychoanalyst, author of The Life and Death of Psychoanalysis: On Unconscious Desire and its Sublimation and co-author of Stay, Illusion! The Hamlet Doctrine with Simon Critchley) paired with the wonderfully haunting photographs of Tim Maul (instructor at the New York School of Visual Arts, image editor of DIVISION/ Review, a psychoanalytic quarterly). This issue also includes pieces by Amy Hollywood (Elizabeth H. Monrad Professor of Christian Studies at Harvard Divinity School, author of numerous books including The Soul as Virgin Wife: Mechthild of Magdeburg, Marguerite Porete, and Meister Eckhart and more recently Sensible Ecstasy: Mysticism, Sexual Difference, and the Demands of History), Eric Anthamatten (writer, poet, screenwriter, flâneur, and instructor of philosophy), and A. D. (instructor of philosophy and lover of hot baths). The center of the issue features a series of photographs on glory holes, adult bookstores, and adult arcades from around San Francisco, California by Brad Steiner, as well as an interview about glory holes and desire conducted by J. K. Fowler with a manager of an adult bookstore and arcade in the Mission District in San Francisco, California. Many thanks to Eric Anthamatten for curating this issue.
