4 - "I'm my own hero." Stars!

Full Exposure is a book of firsts, it’s the first in the Independence Falls series and the first book I have read by Sara Jane Stone. As firsts go, it was a quick, painless and really enjoyable experience, and one I would happily go through again!

The brother’s best friend trope, when written well, is an out and out winner, and the author really pulled out all the stops for Georgia and Eric’s story. Both have issues in their pasts that make them reluctant to commit to a future together.

”One day, you might need me.”

Georgia is also dealing with the aftereffects of serving her country, as well as trying to adjust to life back home, but she isn’t weak, this is a woman who knows what she wants, understands her issues and is trying to deal with them in the best way she can.

Add in an overprotective brother, and his best friend, a man she has loved since they were kids, as well as the adorable toddler she is caring for, and this book started out sexy, moved to emotional and kept me reading until way past my bedtime. A lot goes on as the story progresses, you can feel that the author is giving you the necessary details that you will need as the series moves forward, family and friends are introduced, a little of their pasts is revealed, but for all that the focus stayed true to Georgia, Eric and little Nate.

”I’ve wanted you for so damn long.”

An absolutely stellar start to a series, I have the pleasure of a further 3 books to devour yet, and if they are as good as Full Exposure, you can be sure I will not be complaining! Liam is up next, and another of my favorite tropes; little sister’s best friend has me itching to turn on my Kindle.

Full Exposure was a really enjoyable read. It teaches you about real characters and situations that we experience in life and how we deal with it.

For Georgia Trulane, I could see her plight. She comes back from serving time in the military but isn’t the same girl she once was. She has now developed PTSD and the only way she feels merely alive is to do things that end up concerning her brother, Liam.

This thus leads to Liam taking matters in his own hands and involving best friend, Eric Moore, to hire Georgia as Eric’s nephew’s live in nanny with the stipulation that Eric may not violate the best friend code and sleep with his sister.

= Hence, where things get interesting.
Why, you may ask? Well…

Georgia has always loved Eric and unbeknownst to her, he has also harbored feelings for her as well.

But, as this is a story, Eric has a couple of hang ups that heeds him from pursuing Georgia romantically. So he sticks to his ever patented motto of look but do not touch. ESPECIALLY, when the girl in question is in fact, OFF LIMITS.

What will become of them? How will Georgia continue to cope with her demons? Will she win over Eric’s heart? And Eric, will he give himself into temptation and forgo the rules of friendship and work and take a chance on love?

#A great, great read that took me by surprise!! It exuded heart, steam, vulnerability, taking risks, and working toward your future!! I ABSOLUTELY LOVED it!! I'm so used to military men getting justice in stories after they come from duty and to see it coming from a female's perspective for a change was just golden for me! Georgia was one hell of a gem and I hope that Liam gets a story as well! Nice job Ms. Stone and thank you for offering me a copy of your work!!

xoxo

I like a book that makes me think and I also like a book that is a little different and this book delivers. What is different with this one? Georgia is a FEMALE character with PTSD issues from military service. (Now, I’ve have read one book recently where, the female MC had physical issues due to serving.) But this was alll about Georgia and her issues. She knew she had issues, she admitted she did crazy shit to feel the rush so she didn’t have to feel anything else. Cue the overprotective brother and brother’s best friend. Liam= brother, Eric= childhood friend, lifelong crush, brother’s BFF. Liam of course, lays down the law(the law being, no nookie with Georgia) to Eric and convinces him to hire Georgia to be a nanny to his nephew. But once Eric and Georgia get in the same house, the attraction is undeniable and HOT! (There was a hot tub involved and it was HAWT in the hot tub!!!) I appreciated Eric’s reasons for not wanting to start anything with Georgia but I mean, really, they were MFEO. (Made for each other). Eric had his own issues that played into his reasons for holding Georgia at arms length for so long.

Ms. Stone took her time letting Georgia work through her issues and I liked that. She came to her own realizations on her own time and allowed Eric into her head a bit and he realized some very important things about her that finally helped move their relationship forward. Enter BIG BROTHER Liam. Lordy, lordy, Liam needs a woman and a hobby. I really, really hope he is in the next book. He needs a woman to set him straight! He loved Georgia so much, that was obvious but if we was my brother, I’d have to punch him in the face. ;) Oh and did I mention they were timber/kinda lumber jack guys? OH YEAH….mama likey.

I’m really glad I read this one and I’m looking forward to more from Ms. Stone and this series.

Tons of fun with a heart of gold!

I had the pleasure of reading an advanced copy of Full Exposure and I loved it. I have been a huge fan of Sara Jane Stone since her debut novel Command Performance (if you haven't read it, check it out!), and this book cemented her position as my favorite romance author. Once again Stone has created lovable and relatable characters that you can't help but root for from the very first page. Georgia is a strong female lead who knows what she wants and isn't afraid to go after it, and yet she still exudes a vulnerability and sweetness that makes her completely irresistible! Eric, the male lead, is the epitome of the strong, masculine type who likes to take care of everyone around him, sometimes at his own expense. The two have been friends forever (Eric is best friends with Georgia's brother), and its obvious from the first moment that they have incredible chemistry, but the road to happily ever after isn't simple. The two have a number of challenges to work through (both individually and as a couple) that keep the story from being too obvious or formulaic. It is sexy, sweet, exciting and dynamic. I read it from cover to cover in one sitting because I could not put it down.

Do yourself a favor and get your hands on a copy of Full Exposure as soon as you can...you won't regret it!

Full Exposure is the first book in author Sara Jane Stone’s Independence Falls Series and is the first of her work that I have read. Well, I’m hooked and am anxiously awaiting the next in this series. This book was fantastic!

Veteran Georgia is home now and is silently struggling with the experiences from her time overseas at war. She has found a few things that work to keep the nightmares at bay…sleeping as little as she can manage, jumping from one adrenaline rush to the next, and Eric. Eric, her brother’s long-time best friend, her as-long-as-she-can-remember crush, and currently her boss. Eric now had custody of his nephew and she was the new nanny, which gave her daily, up close and personal time with him and was driving her crush into whole new level. If surviving war had taught her one thing it was that life could end in an instant and that you should go after what you want in life. It’s that lesson that made up her mind to go after Eric. Now the question was, what would reaction be?

Logging company owner Eric has had a whole lot on his plate the past few months and the one person who had become a reliable constant was Georgia. He was so happy she was home safe and now under his roof, helping him with his nephew. Of course all of that was making his attraction to her hard to ignore. But he knew there were a million and one reasons why he needed to stay away from Georgia. For one, his best friend and her brother, would kill him. Unfortunately, he has to push all of that aside when a fire starts on his mountain and threatens not only an entire town, but the future of his logging business.

The odds seem to sway back and forth between favorable and unfavorable for Eric and Georgia. Just when we think they will be able to face their mutual attraction something gets thrown in the way. The push and pull between them starts off immediately and oh my, the heat building was fantastic to read.

Georgia’s demons are numerous and trying to deal with her PTSD alone is a perilous situation. She is one hell of an admirable character to read and I really felt for her. It was actually a bit of fresh air to read a female veteran and her struggle was touching. She is strong and capable and grabs on to life with both hands, prepared for the ride. Of course, that could also be a bad thing and she ends up worrying the people who matter most to her with her, sometimes, overzealous lust for life.

Eric is also a terrific character. He’s got broad shoulders and carries a whole lot on them. He’s loyal and caring and puts the happiness and well-being of others ahead of himself more often than not. He’s strong and sexy with a heat of gold. But he’s still a man and you know how men can be sometimes. Yep, he messes up a few times along the way but because he’s got that huge heart, he always more than makes up for it!

Together these two make one hell of a couple and I loved reading their journey from friends to lovers.
The added suspense with the mountain fire and trying to find what started it, and at some points wondering if it could have been Eric’s best employee, who also happened to be Georgia’s brother and his best friend, added an extra element to this story that I really enjoyed. It was well done and kept the reader guessing until almost the very end. I love that in a story!

Thank you, Sara Jane, for an amazing story. I cannot wait for the next installment!

This review was first published on GenGen's Book Blog

I started reading this book on June 21st and I finished the book the same day. I couldn’t put it down for more than a few minutes. I tried, I really did but it kept calling my name.

FULL EXPOSURE is about Georgia Trulane, who loves to live life and search for the next big thrill. She doesn’t want emotions, not after going back home from a war where she saw a lot of loved ones die. She wants things to be simple, not complicated. Problem is, Georgia is working as a nanny to Nate, Eric’s nephew.

Eric has been Georgia’s brother’s best friend since First grade and has always had an eye on Georgia. He can’t help but feel need and desire when he looks at her. He wants her and she wants him. There is a rule, though: No touching allowed. He won’t touch her, he won’t do anything with her and that frustrates Georgia to no end and me too! He has his reasons and one of them is Georgia’s brother, Liam, who is Eric’s best friend and coworker.

I have to say this book became one of my favorite New Adult Romance read. As almost all NAR books, it does have sexy and very steamy scenes in the book, but it’s not all about that. What I enjoyed about this book is that it’s not only sex. It has a beautiful and amazing story that will leave readers captivated and wanting more. I want more! I knew Georgia had her own demos to fight with but I never imagined it ran that deep inside her and that made me feel for her and identify with her, in a way.

One of my favorite scenes in the book is about Eric’s nephew, Nate. Nate is always scared there are bears in his room. One night he wakes up, saying he needs to make a sign. At first I was confused. I thought he had a dream and wanted to draw what he saw, but that was so not the case. He made an X on a paper and taped it to Georgia’s door. When Eric asks him why is he doing that, Nate replies with “She needed help fighting the bears. Just like you help me when I’m scared.” That did it for me and I got tears in my eyes.

I never found this book boring at all. It kept me wanting to read and forget everything. I got so submerged into the story and that, my lovely readers, is how you can tell a book is good.

A chapter before the epilogue, I was already thinking that I needed a second book and fast. During the epilogue, I kept thinking that for the second book I wanted Liam and Katie to be the primary characters and guess what?! They are! So stay tuned to hear more about the sequel in this amazing series.

Sara Jane Stone is an Avon Romance writer I recently discovered during a live chat through Avon’s Facebook page. She is amazing, her talent for writing passionate scenes, heartwarming love, and describing the nature around you engages your mind fully. Sara has a great deal of knowledge and depth that she brings to her characters to make this book come alive and feel very real. There is romance, loyalty, strength and even a level of cute she intertwines in the pages. I was unable to put the book down even with the gift of at least ten new books I received recently. I had to finish it and know if they would come together or not. A great start to this series!
Georgia has survived the worst, she has watched people die, struggled to survive herself, and now vows to live to the fullest. After her time in Afghanistan Georgia comes back to her safe haven to truly live her life and feel every sensation. Her brother and his best friend are being helpful and supportive of her near death stunts but she has saved the best for last. Georgia has been drawn to her brother’s best friend Eric since she was young; she followed after the boys as often as she could. Always hoping Eric would see her as a women and not just a friend. As they grew up their friendship had grown too, now she lives with him as the nanny to his nephew. Georgia knows it now or never… she has to make her move!
Eric knows Georgia is still suffering nightmares, PTSD, and even more from her time in the Army. He promised her brother he would watch over and keep her safe. He gave her a job to keep her busy and help her to stay grounded. She is amazing with his nephew who has grown attached to her, but then again who wouldn’t? Georgia was gorgeous, smart, brave, and very determined to live her life on her terms. Eric has loved her and wanted her since junior high, but he also knows the difference between right and wrong. It was right to take in his nephew after his sister died, it was wrong to touch his best friends sister. Georgia had always been a strict ‘hands off’ policy for his; this didn’t stop his brain from conjuring fantasies of her though. All goes according to his planes; Eric is handling his baser instincts until Georgia drops her towel. He is only a man after all…
You will have to read this titillating book to find out if Eric and Georgia can put their fears and pasts aside to finally discover the one thing worth fighting for-Love!

What I discovered reading Sara Jane Stone's debut is that this author is a deft hand at crafting complicated characters in a richly emotional setting. Full Exposure, Book 1 of her Independence Falls series, is a short novel, but so packed with great storytelling that you don't even realize it. Though more would be a scrumptious treat. Stone flips the usual trope on its head and gives us Georgia, an Army vet who is suffering from PTSD following her tour in the Middle East. She's home with her brother trying to recover, working as a nanny for Eric. Eric's own life is in turmoil following the death of his sister and her husband and Eric is the guardian and new father to their orphaned son. As lumber mill owner, his business is now being juggled with parenting duties. Georgia's dealing not just with her own emotional turmoil, but her brother's over-protective nature. She's long lusted after Eric. Eric's always been attracted to his best friend's baby sister. Now proximity, and need, blow their long-time caution to the winds. But Georgia's scars and Eric's sadness, coupled with external issues that come roaring into their lives to complicate, and possibly destroy, their successes, and their chance for happiness. Stone's writing is superlative. Erudite, emotional, filled with perfectly drawn human characters, great conflict and her world building is perfection down to the tiniest detail. The Library Journal review for Full Exposure comments that there is not a tremendous amount of detail in Georgia's PTSD, but I found her poignant and tormented memories, and the light hand Stone used in her emotional responses to the trauma, to be perfect for this story, which didn't require great swaths of psychiatric or gory detail to convey the impact her service had on her. Characters are flawed, but human, rich and immediate, right down to the littlest cast member. It is a heart-felt book, with great sensuality, amazing sex scenes, and enough drama to satisfy any romance reader. Or any reader at all. It's a great love story. Don't miss it. And keep watch for the sequel, and Stone's other titles. They're among the best I've read.

I just feel very meh about this book. The setup sounded promising: the male love interest is the best friend of the heroine's brother. She is a combat veteran newly back from Afghanistan & he's a literal lumberjack (ok, he owns a logging company). She's working as a (live-in!) nanny for his nephew he adopted, and for that reason, he refuses to start anything with her. You can probably imagine how well that works out.

Here's my biggest issue: I never really connected with the characters. I mean, they were nice, but I didn't root for them, get frustrated with them, wanna get to know them - all the things you feel with great characters. The base was there, it just feels like it needed to be fleshed out a little more. Bonus points, though, for a kid written in who is not terrible/unrealistic.

Stakes weren't high enough for me either, but it is entirely possible that I have been reading a lot of New Adult, which is angsty af.

I really thought with this love story too, there was too much telling, not enough showing. I don't mean in a sexual sense; I love when you can see the couple fall in love and you get why they would fall for each other. You get a glimpse into what makes both of them great. I like to see that, rather than read a lot of long confessions of love and feelings. Also, because these two were basically childhood friends, you don't really see the getting to know you. But you don't see the rapport they have either, which leads me to my next point...

There was no witty banter or even humorous narration. And I have to have that or some hijinks to hook me into romance stories or it gets too over the top/Nicholas Sparks-esque for my taste.

It's not a bad book? Just kinda boring.

I've said it before, and I will say it again - the perks of being an Avon Addict are tremendous. I came across Sara Jane Stone in a conversation with a fellow addict, and knew I had to try the series. I have read books where the men are dealing with their demons from war, but never from a female's POV. An interesting take indeed.
Meet Georgia Trulane. Sister to one Liam Trulane. Served in the Army and was deployed to Afghanistan. Home and unsure as to what she wants to do with her life as a civilian - she signs on to be a Nanny to long-time friend and her brother's BEST friend,Eric Moore's nephew.
Meet Eric. Part businessman, part rough lumberjack - it was a potent combination. He is cautious with every stolen glance and interaction. A difficult task when his desire is down the hall in his home. The feeling is a mutual one.
Georgia is all about feeling alive, and Eric refuses to be just a thrill or a challenge she needs to conquer.
"This is more. Can't you see that? I've wanted you for so long it feels criminal."
Sara weaves a complex story of friends who have grown up together - know each other's weaknesses and flaws - but are seeing each other in a new light. You know these characters need to be together, but they each have "bears" they need to conquer before they can truly give themselves to their relationship.
A wonderful start to what I am sure is going to be an amazing series featuring strong women and the men who love them.

My Review: I don't know what exactly I was expecting from this book but I was totally blown away! This book had so many elements to it and are all intertwined so beautifully that you just can't stop reading, you have to know what happens next! I loved the characters, the storyline, the steam was just the right amount and I cannot wait to read the next book in the series.

This book had a very interesting plot and storyline. Usually it’s the hero that went to war and returned with PSTD. In this book, Georgia went to war and on returning she’s finding it difficult to live with the memories of the death she witnessed and the friends she has lost. This has made her reluctant to feel any emotions except the ones generated by adrenalin.

I really liked Georgia, and you could feel her confusion and determination on how to overcome her war experiences.

I had trouble liking Eric, don’t get me wrong, he was very sexy and the sex scenes between them was intense, but I resented the fact that he though Georgie wasn’t good enough as she was with her PSTD issues to bring into his family (him and his nephew), and he couldn’t see how strong she was and how she was coping and mending herself in her own way. For someone who has apparently been in love with the heroine for years, he was just a tad too reluctant. And the fact that he should have had faith and belief in his best friend (Georgia’s brother) regarding the fire.

Still, a good read, and I can’t wait to read the next books.

Dreadful. DNFing after 50%. My time is more precious than reading of constant telling not showing. I'm not connecting with the characters and the story is so unbelievably boring and predictable that I could not give a flying fuck about finishing.

Jumping to the epilogue shows I made the right decision because seriously,

As for sex scenes, maybe build up a bit rather than go from zero to astronomical in a couple of seconds, a girl should be allowed to tag along okay... If it is that awkward, maybe drop the sex entirely? I don't want to feel like the author was embarrassed when writing of arousal and masturbation and orgasm *shudder*

This was interesting. The heroine is a veteran who saw action in Afghanistan while the hero is a long-time friend who runs his own million dollar logging business. The attraction has always been there but now Georgia is living life to the fullest and taking chances in order to prove to herself that there is a reason she survived the war when so many didn't. Eric is just as attracted but his best friend is Georgia's brother and he isn't sure she wants him or if she's only interested in the rush of a secret relationship. This was a good story that was unique in a lot of ways. I read this in a couple of hours, which made me think that it was shorter than a full length novel but longer than a novella. Will definitely read book 2.

4 stars
The first time I picked this up, I barely read a couple of pages before I put it back down. This time, however, I couldn't wait to pick it back up and keep reading. This was sexy, sweet, romantic, and even though it was quite short, I felt like the issues that arose between Eric and Georgia were fully explored. I wish the ending had been a little longer but I'm hopeful we'll catch up with Georgie and Eric in the second book in the series. Really keen to find out what happened between Liam and Katie!

Third read - 21 January, 2021
DNF
I wasn't engaged by this one on another read. I found the pacing slow and I didn't buy into the romance. DNF and unhauled.

This is the he first book by Stone that I have read and I look forward to reading more. I liked Georgia and Eric both individually and together. I thought Stone did a great job with portraying Georgia's PTSD, but there was one trauma toward the end that I thought could have been addressed more. That being said I thought Georgia was a strong heroine. She was self-aware and took in advice from others. She and Eric talked things out rather than making assumptions and owned up when they messed up. I look forward to reading more in this series.

This was my first book by this author, and I must admit it left me with a VERY good first impression. Her writing style is very easy to just fall into and enjoy, overall I found it to be quite a enjoyable read! The characters had undeniable chemistry from the start, which created some very heated scenes that left me blushing a few times!

I highly recommend you pick up this book, once you've finished you will dying to get your hands on the next one in the series...I know I am!! Be prepared for a steamy, and highly enjoyable read!!

So happy I finally got around to reading one this author's books! Excellent story, characters, and writing style made this one I enjoyed very much and now of course I'm hooked and will have to gobble up the rest in this series. This books is about Georgia Trulane, newly returned home from serving in the military and just a bit lost. She's taken a job with her brother's best friend Eric working as a nanny for his young nephew. With sizzling attraction between them neither are sure they can keep their relationship hands off!

This is a good one and I definitely recommend it.

Mostly this is a hot sex book, but there really is a story too. The heroine is dealing with some serious war trauma, but she is dealing. Her brother doesn't understand that she is dealing with it her own way and I liked that the book points out that people are different and need to handle the same trauma in different ways. I also enjoyed the look into the timber industry and that it isn't necessarily all bad for the environment (eek my poor liberal heart :) ). By no means did this book do a deep dive into either of these, but it made some nice points to think about.
I like the author's style so I will continue the series.

Review originally posted at Ramblings From This Chick

Full Exposure is the first book in the Independence Falls series by Sara Jane Stone. It is also the first book that I have ever read by her, but it definitely won't be my last. I really enjoyed this story, and I thought that it was well written. The characters were interesting and easy to relate to. This book was a great quick and easy read, and I thought that the story was different from others that I have read before.

After returning from serving her country, Georgia takes a job working for her brother's best friend as his nanny. She has always had a thing for Eric, and now she will do anything to have him. She seeks anything she can to give her a rush of adrenaline and to show her that she is still alive. She has been jumping out of planes and seeking thrills wherever she can, and she knows that sex with Eric would be another earth-shattering adventure. But Eric refuses to touch her and although she can see the desire in his eyes has never acted on anything he feels for her. After losing his sister in a horrible accident, Eric took in his nephew Nate and is focused on making him his top priority. When his best friend asks him to give his little sister a job, Eric can't help but agree. But Georgia is determined to take their friendship to the next level no matter how many times Eric tries to avoid crossing the line. But the more time they spend together, the more Eric realizes that Georgia is not the same girl she once was, and he refuses to be just another thrill for her. Can Eric and Georgia figure out a way to get over her past and the obstacle of her brother, as well as provide a stable relationship for Nate? Or will there just be too many things keeping them from pursuing a future together?

I really liked Georgia. She was strong and smart, and a great role model. She was proof that women can do great things and achieve success in men dominated professions. I loved that she was a soldier and that she wasn't afraid to put herself in tough situations. She also was able to come home and be a nanny for Nate while providing him with all the care and tenderness that he needed. She was determined to be a stable fixture in his life regardless of what happened with Eric, and I was glad to see her try so hard to give him everything that she could because she loved him and cared for him beyond her feelings for Eric. Eric was great as well. He was very sweet and caring, and he was so adorable with Nate. He put him first and made him his priority, but he also was always there for him whenever he needed Eric. I thought it was so cute that he would help Nate chase the bears away and that he never once lost his patience with him and loved him unconditionally. He loved him as a son and not just as a nephew. He was great with Georgia also, and seemed to always be thinking of her needs as well. He tried to make sure that she felt comfortable and wasn't put into situations that bothered her. But he also gave her someone to talk to and a shoulder to lean on. He didn't push or nag her, but he encouraged her to open up to him and trust that she could tell him anything. These two had a lot of chemistry, but it was their history and emotional connection that really had me invested in their story.

I will say that I thought that the push and pull with the couple got a little old after awhile. I didn't understand why Eric felt so strongly that he couldn't touch her and that anything between them would be wrong. I understand that she was vulnerable and that she was dealing with issues, but they were both adults and what they had between them wasn't unhealthy in any way that I could see. I felt like Eric would run cold and Georgia would run hot one minute and then in the next that would completely flip. I just wanted to smack them both a few times and tell them to talk to each other and act like adults. I kept waiting for them to wake up a bit and I would have liked to have seen that happen a bit sooner, but I was glad that they were finally able to admit their feelings and that they wanted to be together. I really did enjoy this book, and I would definitely recommend this one to Contemporary fans. I liked the twist on Georgia being the soldier instead of the hero, and I thought that the characters were written really well. They were deep and interesting, and they seemed so real to me. I will definitely look for more from Sara Jane Stone in the future, and I can't wait to read Georgia's brother Liam's story next.

In Full Exposure, Sara Jane Stone pulls off the incredible! She grabs the readers attention, gets you emotionally attached to the characters and the story, and makes you feel like somehow everything will be okay...all within the first few pages!

The story in this book is both unique and typical all at the same time.

No, seriously...let me explain!

We have the typical falling for your best friend's little sister story mixed with the I'm falling for my boss story with a touch of I need to make the best decision for my kid not myself story...then add in a dash of military background and PTSD and voila! See what I mean about typical but not typical all at the same time??

Let's get into what makes this book great and unique:

~Georgia (one of the main characters) is a FEMALE character with PTSD that stems from her time in Afghanistan.
~Georgia is the nanny...and is struggling with finding ways to remind herself that she is alive and well. She does some pretty crazy stuff in order to get that rush.
~While Georgia is struggling with her PTSD she is still a very strong and independent woman. (Such an awesome thing to read! I'm tired of the wimpy woman that needs to be saved.)
~Liam is the over protective brother that doesn't think Georgia can function on her own anymore and enlists the help of his "trustworthy" best friend Eric.
~Eric has custody of his 3 year old nephew and only wants what is best for him. Which of course means he is pushing away any and all relationships because of his childhood.

Now that you know the story line and characters how about the writing that makes it rock?
~Nothing feels rushed. The relationship develops smoothly and realistically.
~Everything is written in a manner that causes the reader to feel as if they were a part of the story.
~The characters are lovable and relatable and REAL! These characters are deep and multi-faceted. Georgia manages to be a strong, independent woman while showing a small bit of vulnerability and such a caring sweet side that she is utterly perfect. Eric is the strong masculine alpha male with a soft side who wants to take care of everyone and make everything perfect.

Alright, enough with my random bullets on what makes this book rock! Let's talk romance!

Eric and Georgia's chemistry makes them totally MFEO (Made For Each Other). It's easy to see that these two have been fighting their attraction for one another for a very long time and are on the verge of jumping over that cliff from friendship to lovers. There are a lot of bumps in the road for them to reach their HEA, but it is definitely worth it. The sex is HOT, sweet and exciting. Watching as these two work through their issues as a couple and as individuals was endearing and emotional. I found myself sitting on the edge of my seat with my fingers crossed hoping that things would work out.

Full Exposure is filled with twists and turns and an exciting romance that keeps you on your toes and begging for more. I felt like the PTSD side of the story was done very well and seemed to be relatively accurate. The relationship between Eric and Georgia was epic and when you toss in sweet little Nate...well things couldn't have been better!

All I can say is that Full Exposure is DEFINITELY a book that I recommend!

Full Exposure: Book One: Independence Falls, Sara Jane Stone
Review from jeannie zelos book reviews
I enjoy romance that has just that bit more plot that a simple boy meets girl and they live HEA...and this one had an interesting slant, the heroine is an ex solider. Of course that brings with it some mental trauma, no-one can see their colleagues killed and not suffer some kind of mental problems.
So Georgia is now working as a Nanny for her brother’s best friend, looking after his nephew. She loves the job, but has the problem that she’s also loved Eric since she was a teen. Of course as men often are he’s oblivious, but then the odd thing is – he’s also got feelings for her. Of course he won’t act on them for various reasons, his muddled background, shuttled from parent to parent depending on their current partners etc. Then there’s the fact she’s his best friend's little sister and he feels protective, plus Liam would be furious – mainly because he thinks and Eric agrees - that Georgia is still too fragile from her Service traumas. Georgia has been living life on the edge since she left the Services, seeking highs and Liam and Eric think that's because she hasn’t coped well with the things she’s been involved in. She won’t talk about it to anyone, keeping it all inside and she’s been having horrific nightmares. Now she’s decided enough holding back – she wants Eric, he wants her she’s finally realised – and she’s going for it. Its one step forward and two back, and while they’re having some hot and sensual encounters, making progress from her point and doing what he shouldn’t from Eric's view there are other problems to contend with. Eric owns a logging company, where Liam is his trusted right hand man, and there’s been a huge forest fire which is under investigation by officials. That's an added problem that causes difficulties all round.
Its a question of long loves finally getting their time – but with a slew of problems accompanying them that need to be sorted before a happy ending can result. I found the mental problems Georgia has really interesting. It must happen all too often, soldiers see and experience things that affect them adversely and they have to learn to live with them. Things seen and done can’t be changed, but its hard for the person concerned to adapt. They don’t want pity or sympathy but help and understanding and I guess they don’t get it too many times. Throw in the mix the work problems, and the friendships and its a romance that has lots of interesting points, along with some smoking sexual tension and hot sensual interludes.
Stars: Four, and interesting and sensual read.

I love when authors like to switch things up. We have Georgia who served in the military and has some PTSD. I am so used to reading guys with it that it's nice to see it from a female prospective. And because Georgia is not an idiot and isn't in denial, she knows she does her crazy stuff for some thrills to fell alive. (Enter the feels here.) She's dealing with her time in theater and the things she's been through and seen as best she can. So the logical thing to do when looking for your next thrill is to sleep with your boss right? It is when said boss has been her brother's, Liam, best friend since childhood and she's always had a crush on him. It helps a lot that she is a live-in nanny for Eric's nephew at his house. Oh and Eric's rich and sexy so he's a hard man to resist. But seriously though, when you read this and you're not even that far into the story and the characters fit so well, you think what is holding them back?

A main reason Eric holds Georgia at arms length (even though he admits in the book to having a crush on her for years) is the respect he has for Georgia's brother. You know, the whole don't date my sister thing comes into play. But Eric also feels that Georgia is acting reckless in the things she does and is not sure what to do about it. He knows that it's because of her time served but he doesn't really see the depth of the emotional toll that has been taken on her until a certain point in the book. That's when the book gets really good and the feels start flying! There is one point where I'm pretty sure my heart turned into mush when Eric's nephew, Nate, had a bad dream so Eric fell asleep on the floor holding his hand because he wanted him to feel safe and loved. Heart melting.

Another thing to point out are the sex scenes in this book. There is this one scene that involves a hot tub. Phew! When these two get together they are explosive. And you can tell that these two care so much for each other and route for them the whole book that when they finally come to their senses you shout yes! out loud. Not that I did that...maybe...

I am excited to see if the next book is going to be about Liam. He was an intriguing character and am interested to see what he's going to be put through. Will definitely be looking for more info on the rest of this series. :)

Posted on What I'm Reading

When I started Full Exposure by Sara Jane Stone, I was trying to get a feel for the story. Cause the story kind of started out a little slow for me, then jump to a sexual experience. I was like wow; okay, you have my attention. Full Exposure does have a few sex scenes, but it doesn't mask the overall plot. It had a good balance of sex to story.

Full Exposure is about Georgia Trulane and Eric Moore. Georgia basically comes back from serving her country suffering from PTSD. However, she manages it by doing things that make her feel alive. Now this freaks her brother out, and so he asks his best friend to keep an eye out on her. Now Eric is trying to keep his feelings for Georgia in check, but she seems to test his limits. Yet, he's afraid to take a chance with his heart, and he uses his nephew as an excuse to guard his heart.

I enjoyed the story, because it's not your typical damage person. Normally, the war hero is a male facing his demons and keeping them inside. Instead we find Georgia trying to cope with her PTSD on her own, so you don't see too many female characters dealing with this situation. A lot of people handle their PTSD different, with Georgia she did stuff that made her feel alive. At the same time she was afraid to open up emotionally. Yes, she opened up fairly quickly, but it's a story. I liked Eric's character, because he was trying to find the balance through all that was going through his life. We all know that going after best friend's little sister is a big no-no, even if they are all grown up and seem more in their lifetime. He was also dealing with his fear of everyone he love leaving him.

Overall, Full Exposure was good read, even if had a little rocky beginning for me. However, it manage to jam a lot emotion into a fairly quick read. Yes, you get some steamy scenes, but you also see two people working through personal demons to find their way to one another.
