Meets a hot man…Former football player Kelvin Young comes from a privileged background, but his real calling is teaching. He needs to play it cool, but his sexy new boss is setting off sparks in his brawny body. Things get steamy…A relationship between them might be forbidden, but steamy Louisiana nights are made for extracurricular activity. Kelvin’s irresistible allure ignites a new heat in Lara. But when Kelvin becomes the target of racist parents, and with her boss working against her, Lara must decide if she’ll defend her man or let her dark past destroy any hope for a bright future.

Lara Rumson has worked hard to get to where she is. She has just been recruited to be the new vice principal of Vista Terrace Middle School. Her first day she meets Kelvin Young who has also been recruited to be a teacher and a football coach. The school was not inviting having chipped paint and dirty windows and looking rather shabby. When Lara was shown to her office it was no bigger than a closet and had no window. The principal, Ms.Hawthorne, is icy cold to both Lara and Kelvin.

Both Lara and Kelvin being new to the school gravitated to each other. Soon they could no longer ignore the parks flying between them. Lara knew it would be improper of her to fraternize with a member of the staff. We all know the road to h**l is paved with good intentions. One day in the library closet their emotions took over.

Then the unimaginable happened. Kelvin, being a man of color, was accused of the inthinkable. I cannot go on without spoilers so you will just have to read his book. Once I started I could not put the book down until I had turned the last page. Try it....you'll like it.

I’ll admit, I’m not 100% sure what I think of this book. I liked the concept, a teacher and vice-principal both new to the school fighting their attraction because of school politics. But I’m not sure if I liked the authors writing style, something just didn’t click for me. I didn’t really feel the passion between Lara and Kelvin. I just felt that they fell in to the physical aspects of their relationship. I didn’t feel the heart behind their actions, I didn’t feel their emotions. There were some pretty steamy scenes, their first weekend together, but I wanted a little more. This is a new to me author and I’m intrigued enough to try something else from her but this one just didn’t click for me.

I LOVED this book!!! I actually recieved it Saturday morning and finished it by Saturday afternoon. I just couldn't put it down, it was that good!

I love how the author writes about a topic that is still controversial although it's a common thing.
She writes with such description that it just draws you in.
I don't want to write too much about the story to give it away... You just have to get this book!!
