One night, I dreamed about the characters from Connected by Souls. I woke up in the middle of the night, opened my laptop, and started writing. I have always been an avid reader, but I had no clue what I was doing. I was having so much fun writing that I told myself if I only did this for my eyes, it would be enough because it brought me so much joy.
Before I knew it, I had an entire novel sitting in front of me. A novel I cried and laughed with while sitting in the dark by myself, typing away in the still of the night. A story I knew needed to be shared with others.
I've opened up this whole creative world that I didn't know existed inside me, and I never want it to end. Writing has given me something I can own outside of being a mom. A sense of accomplishment and joy that I didn't know was missing.
I’m so grateful for this journey as an author and the readers who have fallen in love with these characters along the way. I’ve put my heart and soul into every story I write, and my wish is for you to feel connected to my characters as much as I do.

From page one I knew Jake and Lyla's story would take me through all of the emotions. Such a great addition to The Montgomery story line & the anticipation of more to come.

Holy crap, she did it again! Sophia made Jake Montgomery nothing short of perfection. Let’s be so for real though, all the Montgomery brothers are some of the most amazing men out there. These men have such a tight circle and once you’re in it, they will fiercely protect you and look out for you forever. This family has such a strong bond and ties never break.
It was so easy to fall head over heels for Lyla and Jake. They are so perfect for each other.
Lyla is a runner. Anytime someone got to close, she would bolt. Her tragic past made her not trust anyone and be very wary of all men. That was until Jake got broke down her walls and made her feel safe. The minute be saw her for the first time, he was gone for her! This man fell HARD and FAST.
Sophia always delivers the most delicious spice! If you know anything about her characters, once they start, they never stop.🥵 These men always have the dirtiest mouths that will make you fan yourself and swoon at the same time. Have I mentioned there’s a pool table and a bourbon scene?
Overall, I absolutely loved this book! Just like I knew I would! I can’t wait to see how Miles’ book coming later this year unfolds! If you haven’t read this series yet, what are you waiting for!?

Sophia!! How dare you break my heart with this one!! 😭 I knew what was coming but I still broke for her
You follow Jake, a tattoo artist, and Lyla who makes delicious desserts. She has a dark past but he was determined to get through her. The Montgomery family is unbeatable. They are so loving and supportive. Seeing Lyla want more for herself was just beautiful
And you can't miss their teasing 😉 This book is quite fast paced but I really enjoyed it

Sophia Belle does it again! I love Layla’s development as a character. It was so nice seeing Jake bring her back to life. I loved Jake’s protectiveness and patiences with Layla. I enjoyed seeing all the other characters from the precious novels. When reading Saving Me you can really feel the family bond between everyone. The Montgomery brothers are top tier! I really like the suspense of the plot too.

I’d say 3.5! This book was almost just like the movie “sleeping with the enemy” with Julia Roberts. The plot was almost identical. (Spoilers ahead)
h was 18 when she married OM who was 40. He frequently r*ped her and abused her. She was with him for 5 years. h had a sick mom, so he was using the mom’s care to hold over her. She saved up her money and waited until he was gone out of town. She secretly worked on getting her mom moved to another care facility without her husband knowing. Then when he was out of town, she left on a bus only to end up in a small town. She took catering jobs because she loved to bake.
H was a known playboy. He frequently even shared women with his brother Miles. (No OW scenes were mentioned in this book)
h is now 23 and OM is 45. Not sure how old H is. I’d say probably a few years older than h, but not many.
He ran into h at a wedding she was working. H immediately knew she was THE ONE. 🙃
There was a tiny bit of pushback from her, but it was very mild. He “hired” her to be his private chef. 😂….so basically within a few days, she was living with him.
Other than being a playboy, H was a green flag.
By 45% she tells him everything. By 50% they are shagging. Once the smex starts, it’s never ending. Like……….it was too much. (The author does a decent job at spicy scenes, she just needs to taper them down some, IMO)
So yes, h is still married to OM. Even though he’s garbage, I guess some would still consider it cheating. 🤷♀️ H does help h hook up with the police and attorney. She gets a restraining order and she files for divorce. Nobody can find him
Ofc, about 80% in, OM kidnaps h by gunpoint. He’s extremely drunk. She leaves with him. He does tell her that he’s been drugging her mom all this time which explains why mom was so out of it.
The scene cuts and H arrives home and discovers the mess. H and his brother follow the tracker on her phone (h does know and approves of the tracker. She let him put it there)
Scene cuts again and the brothers arrive at the scene of a major wreck. OM is dead and h is seriously wounded. It was sad. H is losing his mind and he’s crying. 😭 All the brothers support him at the hospital.
h is alright. Had surgery, but she will recover.
6 weeks later, they have smex again 🤪
He buys her a bakery. Proposes. HEA
Brother Miles is definitely the MOST interesting character/brother and I’m super excited for his book in a couple of weeks. He’s the biggest man*hore, so it will be interesting to see who wrangles him in a green flag.

This series is so good! This is book 2 in the Montgomery brothers series. This book is about Jake and Lyla. Jake runs into Lyla, literally, and his life is forever changed. He needs to know more about her and why he feels like she's running from something. Lyla knows she needs to stay away, nothing good comes from men but why does she feel this pull to this man she just met? When their paths cross again and Jake comes to her rescue, she just may let her guard down yet.

Sophia Belle has done it again, she doesn’t disappoint! This is the 2nd. book in the Montgomery Brother’s series, but it can be read as a standalone. I think this is my favorite one so far. Jake the MMC & Lyla the MFC lives literally collided when she was catering his family’s friend’s wedding. And from that moment they were hooked. Lyla enjoys baking & is trying to get her side business off the ground, but she is running from a dark past. Jake is a tattoo artist & small town playboy who hasn’t met someone he feels like investing his time in. After getting rave reviews about her desserts, she ends up with several accounts in Blue Haven. Even Jake’s Mother had recommended her to her friend who owns a coffee shop in town. Jake also lives in Blue Haven. When Jake realizes Lyla is working for a creep just to pay the bills, he offers her a job & a place to stay. She takes him up on that as friends. They spend more time together & learn more about each other. They can read each other like a book. She shares her dark past with him & from then on he vows to protect her no matter what. He only wants the best for her especially since that’s not what she’s use to. I love their relationship, the banter, & their chemistry! I really enjoyed watching their story unfold. I definitely recommend this book/ series as well as The Connected Series. Sophia Belle’s books just keep getting better. I received this book as an ARC and I’m giving an unbiased review of this book. Jake and Lyla will forever have my heart! 💙
Jake Montgomery did not disappoint one bit in this book! He is hands down my new favorite book boyfriend! I swear the man didn’t have a flaw, and if he did I had my blinders on! 😍
Summary:
Lyla is a running away from her life and not looking to find anyone new, until she quite literally runs into Jake! Talk about ironic fate! Jake helps Lyla learn how to love herself again after her traumatic past and she also learns how to love and trust others as well.
Thoughts:
This book was incredible! It pulled at my heart strings and had me biting my nails at one point. I also giggled way too hard and was occasionally hot and heated. It was a very relatable book for me. I understood and connected with Lyla on a personal level due to our childhood experiences, and that had me hooked on her story even more. There are some dark themes throughout, so check the TW list first before diving in, but this is in no way considered a dark romance!
I cannot wait for the world to meet Jake and Lyla so they can fall in love with them as well! 🥰

Lyla’s journey is deeply personal and relatable, and Jake’s unwavering love for her is beautifully healing. The Montgomery family's support adds warmth, balancing the book’s heavier themes with humor and love.

I read Saving Me by Sophia Belle a while ago when I received an ARC🥰and instantly fell in love with Jake and Lyla’s story—but somehow, I never got around to writing a proper review. I shared it in my insta stories (because I had to talk about it), but this book deserves more than a quick shoutout. It deserves every bit of love and attention.
Jake and Lyla’s story is one of healing, second chances, and finding peace in love after pain. Jake is this emotionally layered, fiercely protective man with a good heart—and an even better family. Lyla? She’s been through so much and carries so much hurt, but she’s strong, compassionate, and quietly resilient. Watching her slowly let her guard down was so moving, especially knowing how hard it was for her to trust again.
One of my favorite things about this book was how Lyla didn’t just find love in Jake—she found a family. Jake’s family was warm, welcoming, and such a beautiful part of her healing journey. It made the story feel fuller, deeper. It wasn’t just about the romance (though that part was chef’s kiss); it was about building a life, finding safety, and finally belonging somewhere.

Jake and Lyla’s love story is beyond addicting. The character development the author puts into this series is beyond captivating. You can feel all the emotions poured into the story and what each couple is going through.
I had this series on my TBR for a while but other ARCs kept getting in the way. This month I got an ARC for the third book in the series which helped me bump up reading the other first two books and I am SOOO glad ! I absolutely loved Book 1 and Book 2 - I am so excited to see what happens with Miles in Book 3 💙💙💙💙
These books revolve around hot loyal men who know exactly how to take care of their woman. Written to perfection!

Ahhhh this was everything I didn’t know I needed I lovvvveeeee Daddy Jake and I knewww he was going to be my favorite Montgomery brother!!! (So far…)His attentiveness and love is beyond measure and the spice ugh I didn’t know Sophia was going to go in like that! This book hit on every level for me I can’t wait to see what miles has in store for me!

Jake Montgomery was 🥵😩💖🥰 idea where to even start about his whole personality, he was soo patient and caring and cheeky and loving. The Montgomery Brothers trait of charm was definitely though I can be a bit biased 🫠🫠, Sophia Belle knows/knew it was gonna be a battle when I read this book.. Idk if I can choose between the Montgomery brothers🥹🥹

I don’t think Sophia could ever write a book that I don’t swoon at and fall head over heels in love with the characters almost immediately. She is able to write characters with such passion and raw emotion, while still making them relatable and easy to connect with. You find yourself cheering on the MCs from almost the beginning, just waiting for the moment when they finally give in to their feelings. Saving Me is no different and a wonderful addition to Sophia’s contemporary romance catalogue.
Lyla is running from her past and just trying to survive. She has done a good job keeping her head down, but her most recent job has her running into someone she can’t get rid of. Meeting someone who makes her feel things she hasn’t in a long time, she can’t help but gravitate towards him. When he offers her a job, she can’t say no, doesn’t want to say no.
Jake can tell Lyla is running from something the first time he meets her. Feeling protective of her from the very first moment, he offers her a job. As they continue to orbit around each other, he is drawn to her so fiercely that he can’t ignore his feelings. As he learns about her past, he is determined to do whatever it takes to keep her safe. Just as Lyla is determined to not let her past hurt Jake.
Going through a rollercoaster of emotions throughout this book, I definitely felt them all while reading. The chemistry that is easily felt between our two MCs and the growth they both go through makes this book hard to put down. Yes, your heart will break, but Sophia always puts it back together before the end of her book. Beyond the MCs, the side characters are amazing in this story. Supportive, caring, and protective as well, I am excited to see who the next story will focus on!

Oh my freaking god. I NEEDED this! More than I realized!
When it comes to Sophia Belle and Contemporary romance…I get a new book boyfriend to add my harem every. Single. Time. This is her sixth book and my relationship standards have already gone through the flipping roof. I have taken just a tiny piece of Noah, Maverick, Travis, Ryder, and now Jake and submitted them to my brain for analysis on how to summon the PERFECT boyfriend. Unfortunately at this time, said PERFECT boyfriend remains on page.
Everyone is entitled to their own opinions but Sophia is an auto buy indie author for me and I don’t regret it at all. I will defend her with my dying breath because her work is pure and emotional and funny and sexy and makes you giggle and kick your feet like a teenager.
I thought I was most excited for Miles’ story (which I still am don’t get me wrong) but Jake’s story? Holy shit am I giddy, wrecked and completely healed from all my mental and emotional scars all at the same time.
The Montgomery brothers, and even Noah and Maverick from the Connected series, are the kind of MMC’s that KNOW they’re hot and yet somehow make it beautifully and achingly swoon worthy.
And Lyla? Oh my god, I freaking love the sweet muffin. I’m so glad that when planning out Jake’s love interest that Sophia went with Lyla’s story because damn…I fell in love with both Jake and Lyla. Each and every book I read gets better and better and I cannot wait to see where she goes from here. I’m so very thankful that I get to be a part of this journey.

When the story was announced, I was more than excited to get my hands on it! It did not disappoint in any aspect. This story brought dynamic and bright chemistry between these two characters.
Lyla has a passion for baking and true desire for cooking her ass off! not only does she have a little firecracker to her, but she also handles her problems well. Wanting to solve things independently, she let the man who saved her a job swoon her heart. I loved being able to see the chemistry that unfolds when she opens her arms and her sweetheart to him. When running from her past, she doesn't let this define the passion and love she has for jake.
Jake a hot tattoo artist who hates men who are assholes to woman and will stop at nothing to make that clear. Not only is he protective, but he allows the woman that just walked into his life to be well taken care of. He's such a family man and loves to stand for the people he loves. HE WAS MY FAVORTIE!! I loved seeing him get protective and also taking care of Lyla the way she deserves, and it truly shows that he knows her worth just as much as she does. He's very attentive and calm with her, which is the sweetest scene.
I want to give a HUGE thank you to Sophia Bella forever more for giving me a chance to read yet another book. I am so beyond excited to continue to read this author's writing, The spiciness continues to get hotter and hotter, and she does it very well. Her stories bring great chemistry and true found family vibes. She creates men who are wanted and NEEDED.

We’ve back to Blue Haven for Book 2 in The Montgomery Brothers series and honestly, a little beach town like this is like a piece of Heaven to me.
Plus The Montgomery Boys live there and while I may have loved Ryder in Book 1, I LOVE Jake with my WHOLE chest in Book 2 😂 uff, that tattoo artist of a man with the mouth of the Devil and the heart of the sweetest….this is why we have book boyfriends, right here, Jake Montgomery.

Sometimes I just love to read romance where he’s good to the girl from the start, she’s his beginning, middle and end and the end of the book is guaranteed to make you feel everything good. And yes, I cried. Three separate times.
I highly, highly recommend this series, Jake’s Story is my favorite so far out of the two and the last story, the youngest brother Miles, is up last.

Sophia Belle has quickly become one of my favorite authors. Between the total of 6 published books in the Connected Series and the Montgomery Brothers series, Sophia has yet to write a less than 6 star book!! The two series can be read as stand-alones but I highly recommend reading them all so you can understand every couple's origin story and see how beautifully unique each couple Sophia creates is.
Okay now for my review for 'Saving Me'.
This book was EVERYTHING. Jake Montgomery, another ultimate book boyfriend; the grey eyes, tattoos, grey sweatpants 😍. I personally love a man in control (in a positive way), confident and knowing what he wants. Possibly the most amazing quality about Jake, is when he loves someone, he loves fully and hard with zero regrets. I think one of my favorite Jake moments was when gave his brothers a heads up about Lyla's situation due to her safety being possibly at risk, but still maintained to respect her privacy and trauma until shes ready to tell her story.
I absolutely loved Lyla's vulnerability and the way she puts everyone ahead of herself by wanting to keep everyone she loved safe.
Out of all of Sophia's books, this one was by far the spiciest. All I will say is the pool table and the tattoo chair scenes; *chef's kiss*!!

Sophia FREAKING Belle has somehow topped her own writing with this work of art. Jake and Lyla’s story has easily entered my top favourite couples.
The Montgomery brother’s have created a level of standard in their devotion and love that will forever be difficult for basic men to achieve. Jake gives us heart eye emojis right off the start with the instant connection he feels when laying eyes on Lyla. Without any hesitation this man does everything he can to secure her love, safety and the place over his heart.
Lyla’s back story and life experience was the meat and potatoes of this book. I loved understanding her story, I loved how we got to experience her adapt to being properly loved and cherished. One of my favourite things about reading is being absorbed into these characters' stories and having them blossom into this powerhouse woman.
I was very quickly hooked on Jake and Lyla’s journey. I experienced a whole slew of different emotions. There were times where I felt so love struck, I giggled, squealed, I cried tears of sadness, and felt so much joy. Jake put me on the train of falling with his tattoos, dessert and bourbon addiction. Meanwhile, Lyla had me falling fast with her whiskey coloured eyes and her love for Jake.

Sophia Belle strikes again with another story of excellence!
Saving Me is a beautiful story of finding love after so much hurt for the FMC. It’s also a beautiful story of love at first sight. The storyline, characters, and spice are all perfection. The spice is definitely spicing but only adds to the chemistry and love between our main characters. Speaking of characters….
I have been holding space in my heart for the Montgomery men since meeting Travis in book 3 of the connected series. The Montgomery men are fierce protectors who value love and family most of all and Jake is no different.
The love and care that Jake shows Lyla from the very beginning is how all relationships should be. Lyla has had some traumatic events happen in her life and from day 1 of meeting her at Mav and Bella’s wedding, Jake knew that she was it for him. The way he pursues her is beautiful because while he adamant about his feelings for Lyla he reassures her that they can move at her pace as she is continually to heal from her past.
I could go on and on about how much I love Sophia’s writing and this story. I will just say YOU’RE ABSOLUTELY CRAZY IF YOU DON’T GRAB THIS STORY WHEN IT RELEASES ON 02/28!!
