The book was captivating. It is a collection of compelling stories shared by individuals who have undergone profound and transformative experiences. The narratives are deeply thought-provoking and spiritually enriching, offering a profound sense of insight without being affiliated with any particular religious belief.
This book is an excellent read. It's incredibly inspiring, especially when you're looking for a little hope and inner strength, especially when you need to find that little bit of hope and strength from within.
The Day My Life Changed was an okay book, one which its easy to wile away a couple of hours with, but certainly not life changing. The stories involved are readable, but only that - certainly not situations which I would read and think 'wow, that was an amazing (life changing, terrifying, frustrating, scary, wonderful, frustrating - add any adjective you'd like) situation to find yourself in. To put it bluntly, the majority of the stories just didn't raise any type of emotion from me, but as always, I do recognize that the writer has taken the time to write/compile these stories. I think my biggest problem with these anecdotes is the fact that every single one of them was written in the same voice, which is a problem when you are suggesting that each and every story has come from different people around the world, different personalities, different ages, different experiences, different lives - but when reading them, they all mesh into the same voice. This may be because the author has edited them herself and given them too much of her own voice - to be honest, I'm not sure how it came about, but it certainly decreased the resonance and tone. My only other grievance is the typos, missing words and in once case a baby changes from she to a he and back again. The mistakes probably ran up to perhaps 15-20 throughout the whole book, but enough to draw me out of reading as I went back to figure out what was wrong with the sentences. All in all, I'd probably rank somewhere between 2 1/2 to 3 stars. A good book if you just want to pick up and read the odd story, but unfortunately, many of the stories are just not remarkable enough to suggest they would be 'life changing'.
This 4 star read features short stories from people who responded to an ad in the paper, regarding a day or moment that changed their lives. It is broken in chapters eg moments of inspiration, times of crisis. Would recommend.
Life storries of real people are most inspiring. Some of the storries changed the view of my life and how I look at the problems, people and generally the world.
Interesting read to see other people’s experiences and I took away some really great insights and inspiration. However there were quite a few typos which became frustrating. But overall a good book.
A fantastic easy to read book full of short tales from people about different topics such as inspiration, crisis, death, near death experiences, fears, etc but my favorite would have to be lessons from strangers.
